olalayo1710: Good am wonderful mums in d house, am a new mum here hope am welcome. pls sabi mamas my 2wks old ds does not poo often like once in 3 days he is on breast milk and sucks a lot, pls what should I do, I also notice he is losing weight mil says he has oka I don't even understand her, sabi mamas pls come to my aid. Hello dear, your lil one is very ok so take a deep breathe and relax ! EBF babies can go as long as 7 days without poop and it is absolutely ok . Everything in the breastmilk is almost absorbed so they have little or nothing to excrete regularly. Foget that "oka" story, some babies lose their birth weight and start regaining sooner. continue feeding dear, your baby is still too young for all the weight loss stories. |

Nita2013: Pls get gerber prune. It's about 450 for 2 in a pack. Give him half of it and he ll poop after a while. I m sure d 1st poop is hard thereby blockin d not so hard ones.
It's because u just introduced cereal. Like Beryl stated pls make sure d cereal is a bit watery since u just started it. After a while u gradually thicken it. Also don't load it in his tummy. I started with 2 level tablespoons.
Pls don't give wheat cereal yet until 6months. U can try oat instead.
Thanks a lot Nita. I will look for it today |

Beryl15: In addition to massaging the tummy, lie him flat on the bed and move his legs in circular motion as if you're riding a bicycle.. You can also use your finger to spread his b bum & pour warm water directly On his anus( old wives tale but it works )
1. Consider switching to another kind of cereal ( oatmeal or wheat) cos rice cereal is low in fiber. 2. Ensure you mix the cereal with adequate water. Don't make it too thick. 3. I think you should consider waiting till 6months to start solids. He's system would be better prepared for it. #myopinion Beryl, thank you so much. I'll do like you have said. Poured the warm water, no result yet...lol |

FinanceFitness: I circumcised my 2 boys at 2 days old here in US and they were both perfectly done. My preference is to do it here when they are still much younger and the environment neater.
I think people will generally get good people to circumcise their boys in Texas, so if pricing is not an issue, I will advise they do it here in the US - I've used Dr Partell in Elpaso and Dr Robinson (with Dr F) in Houston, they both did it the Nigerian way. I agree with you. Dr Robertson (with Dr F) did my son's own and it was perfect. They did it when he was less than 24hrs and no issues whatever. |

Udumeme: For all Mama's in the house looking for decent accommodation in the Sugar land area, Houston TX I'm staying in a house at Matagorda, Sugar land. It's minutes away from West Houston Medical Centre where I'm going to have my baby. There are shops all around so I know my shopping for baby is sure to be a breeze. The lodging aside, I've been provided other services, for instance I am driven to my Dr's appointment and back again. This saves me the (insane) cost of hiring a taxi. While this is in no way an advert, this info might prove useful for NL mamas on the forum who are in need of available rooms. Feel free to PM me for more info. Sugarland to west houston medical centre is not some minutes away o... Those using West Houston, it will be advised to look out for accomodation around the Westchase area. Sugarland is closer to Oakbend . |

Ferarrix: sorry for bothering everyone. I found the answers to my questions by reading through the posts esp from feddy27.
One more question feddy.. please how did you manage with local transportation between accommodation and hospital and locall shopping of basic things you required? will also be grateful if you can share contacts(cab, accommodation etc) that were very useful during your stay.
Hi, for accommodation, I got an apartment. PM me and I'll give you the person's contact. I used cab for all my movements. Houston isn't transport friendly.
Thank you |

My people ! In the spirit of giving back, here's my birth story: I gave birth to my baby boy last week Tuesday at Oakbend and Dr Fagbohun took the delivery himself. I had a very fantastic and amazing labour nurse; Lesley ! God bless this pretty soul. The members of staff were very helpful. Baby was given all the supplies he needed and they brought a celebratory meal to my room to celebrate baby's arrival. I had more than enough juice to drink..lol. also, different pain medications were administered. Overall the hospital experience was great and Dr F is really experienced and good at his job. I'll def use him again. Birth certificate was ready for pick up by Monday, went to downtown for passport yesterday and picked up same day. Waiting to process naija visa, collect zero balances and get ready to make my way home ! |

labdej: Good day all,
Please I need an urgent help. My wife has an appointment with Dr Fagbohun later today (in some 4hours). My main concern is the price the price I was told I would pay seem different from what I planned with. The lady we spoke with to book the appointment said we were paying US3,250 on first visit.
Can anyone who recently used Dr Fagbohun please confirm if this amount is ok and maybe help me with what this amount covers.
Thanks No need to panic. 1st visit is $325. She'll get more details wen she gets there. There are no hidden charges with them |

DeeandGLady: Thanks Feddy27 for your reply, but if I may ask why was your friend sent back, and why was the other stamped in for 2 weeks. Am asking so I know to help me better decide. Would appreciate your response please. My dear, you know in cases like this one needs to be careful and not ask so many questions. I sure knew she had all the docs + cash ready. Probably she met an angry person. Wat I knw is dey always delay preggies and may finally let you in . Personally, I ws nt ready to experience any of such avin read tru oda people's experience on dis thread. Jst avoid houston, chicago and atlanta. Any oda place shld be fine. Like I said, your case might be different bt honestly I wasn't ready for the gamble. |

Please share I beg, Someone's BP is beginning to rise Looks like everyone has completely avoided Houston as POE. Thanks If it's possible to re-route via anoda POE pls do. You wld probably spend a few bucks. Had a friend dat ws sent back 2 days ago, anoda was stamped in for 2 weeks while 2 odas scaled tru. No one really can predict her fate bt it's advisable to completely avoid it if possible. |
