mctemmy: When Is The Right Time For A Young Man To Rent An Apartment

Good evening sensible nairalanders, please when is the right time/best time for a young man to have his own apartment and leave his parent house, not in the context of marriage but on the context of independence!!!!
When your parents chase you out or when they start complaining about your wife/fiancee - whichever comes first.

luvmijeje: Op the question you should have ask, is will today writers made it during Achebe's era.He was called the father of African literature for a reason. He was a pioneer,he tread where no one else was bold to tried.
He was a legend and shall be honour as such.Though he became an irresponsible author in his twilight,op whose footstep you are already following through ur writeup.
{Yawn} Amos Tutuola , DO Fagunwa and several other writers were published before Achebe by the way. Don't make it sound as if VChinua Achebe is the first African to write a book. And as he confessed, Things Fall Apart was heavily edited by the white publisher before it could be published. So it wasn't as if he was a genius. I quite understand the OP's question too. OP swallow your pride and obey the moderator grin

thelonestranger: LOL.He/she believes in free speech selectively. Even CA whom you are protecting wasn't so committed to censorship at least not to the extent of believing that a paragraph of writing could cause tribal war. Never mind' enjoy yourself.
oh no! don't invite the vultures!
My take is that Chinua Achebe would have had as bad a time as the young people trying unsuccessfully these days to get published. He certainly could have very well given up, and a future star will have been lost. Shame he made no effort to help younger writers come close to their own dreams anyway. But this is coming too late now. RIP Chinua Achebe.

The only Christians still there are the roaming goat people. You beat them and they will still return to be beaten again. Na wa.

Obiagu1: If ICC were to investigate that starvation policy, Awo would be #2 on the most wanted list. Someone made those policies, if it's not Gowon, then it is Awo and being the brain behind the government, everyone believed it was his policy and he even stated it was legitimate while Gowon did not defend it.

Then for Achebe to say that starving children is diabolic and you felt it was insulting, then I think you are beyond ridiculous!
But bros come o.You talk as if Awo rounded up Biafra children , took them to Ijebuland and starved them to death . That is not true at all.
Why were Biafra soldiers getting fat and the children starving ? That is the question people like you ought always to ask .

justokey: Can you explain the bold words sir?
Springs --- just like shock absorbers.
Politics › Re: Third Mainland Bridge Is Vibrating by felifeli: 12:47pm On Mar 13, 2013
All structures and things vibrate. This is caused by natural transmission of impact or impulse through the structure. In this case the impact is due to the vehicle tyre loads and also impulse from vehicle noise. The only way that the bridge could collapse is when the frequency of the vibration harmonises with the natural frequency of the material of the structure , in which case the structure just liquefies (disintegrates). Expansion/construction joints work not only to accomodate internal stress from temperature variations but they also incorporate dampers which absorb the vibration to forestall collapse. Of course I speak as an engineer. wink wink

Mad Cow: SUEN In the spirit of Nairaland achieving such a milestone, I suggest you grant amnesty to all the User ID's currently languishing in Nairaland Jails..

One of My I.D is banned till 2099.

Please remember that to err is human, but to forgive is devine. AMEN!!
What a farce. His OTHER ID is banned till 2099 .. . yet he is still posting. grin grin grin Of what effect has the ban been. If Seun wants to create 1000 new "users" everyday all he has to do is order the moderators to ban 1000 people . . . assuming there are up to 1000 active users. grin grin grin

Afam4eva: There's no way the unique population of Nairaland is more than 200,000. I'm even been generous. Over 70% of people here have multiple accounts. While some have just 2 or 3, others have as much as 10 accounts that they switch depending on their mood for that day.
I told Seun to remove my account so that I will not be able to comment here on NL again and he refused. Now see what you have made me do huh
You this man you are biting the hand that is feeding you (with power) grin grin

Dear Mr Seun
I wish to stop using this site primarily because it is no more my idea of entertainment ; other reasons are less important. I will wish that you delete my email from your database. This is important because over time I have received a constant stream of spurious spam marketing mail which could only have originated from my registering on Nairaland because I rarely use that email address. Kindly also delete my email from any mailing list that you may be presently hiring out to marketers. I have not opted in for marketing messages and this intrudes in my privacy. Your site's privacy policy has not mentioned that users will receive this and as far as I know I was not presented any such terms of use to agree on before joining this site. Thank you for your kindness.
its because of eediots like you with diseased gums oozing putrid matter that i get banned in the regular forum. i marked your signature for proper engagement on our next meeting. this is not the place for that.
Now it is not so difficult to see why your a.s.s got canned. Where will the next meeting be ? Your dreams I guess. FYI while you are on your knees cursing mods to unban you (or else what ?) , I have been here and there searching for how to get me permanently removed - email , posts and all.
Seun,

I'm escalating this request to you. Please go over my various contacts on this page in demand for a simple communication and intervene to get an answer for me. I was using Dudu_Negro and the handle's access was restricted. I just need to know why Dudu was restricted, simple!

1. was he restricted for a rule violation?
2. was the restriction discriminatory or discretionary?

Thanks,
your favorite Chief Negro.
Guy your whining is so high note I can smell poosie from here smiley And I am sure those guys are having the time of their life watching you panic. Your new signature doesn't help either; if I were an a.s.s.hole mode I would ban you for life. And lastly when someone has you by the ba.l.ls calling them a nasty name will just make them squeeze harder. 2 cents.

Desola: Well, that is a bummer!

I guess if it has to be done, then it has to be done!

This is the sort of thing that Seun is meant to be wrapping his head around rather than getting into rofo-rofo fights.

Thanks anyway.
P

It can be done only Seun doesn't want you to be able to do it. Same way that he doesn't want you to be able to delete your account from this rat-a.s.s site then he will claim 1m members when there are only less than 500 active users. I will persuade him to delete all my post anyway. I want out completely.

I intend to delete my Nairaland account. What I would like to find out though is what happens to my post in this forum . Will they still remain or will they also be removed after I have deleted my account? Can someone please educate?
Since yesterday I was banned from using Nairaland politics section for an unspecified period and I have just found that somehow I am again able to post anything at all in the forums. The method of the ban I did really resent because the coward who effected the ban did not even inform me why or for how long. Therefore instead of being advised on whatever mistake I may have made anywhere I was left with the impression that the ban was a "generally watch your steps" notice; and this I find quite offensive. This forum is not my father's property and I am just a passer-by , stopping now and then to have a laugh and to sometimes do some healthy criticism here and there. However I certainly do not intend to stand in queue to tolerate having to do things to the approval of any moderator.I don't need this place that badly. Therefore I do intend to take the honorable way out and I wish to completely delete my account on Nairaland . I very much value my self respect. Any commenter under this, who may seek to insult my motive or decision I will assume does not know what self respect means. I do not want to be tempted in future to again return here and that is why I will want all my posts and comments to be also completely erased. Can someone please educate? Thanks you.
