  U.S. unemployment could surpass 10 percent by year’s end, Richard Fisher, chief executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, said Wednesday before the Japan Center for Economic Research in Tokyo, Japan.

Fisher said there are 13.2 million people without jobs, and the nation is grappling with an 8.5 percent unemployment rate.

While the housing market has compounded the problem, he attributes declines in employment to a crisis in confidence that is driving business leaders to cut heavily.

“The men and women who operate our businesses and create and sustain employment have assumed a defensive crouch,” he told the audience. “Confronted by dyspeptic financial markets, they are doing the best they can to preserve their margins by cutting costs (most significantly, the cost of labor), and running tight inventories, rationalizing supply lines, deferring all but the most necessary capital expenditures and, in general, avoiding risk. The result is an American economy in stasis. Nothing is being ventured, and nothing is being gained.”

The purported email is FAKE . Anyone could have sent that from any useful email client program . And you can see from the Intercontinental Bank address line that this has also been tampered. The poster should be ashamed of his/herself for making this allegation.

Well, not on my end . I have a Barclays account and they will not even send your statement by email even if you begged for it. Identity theft is very real. They will never ever send your (debit) card and PIN in same letter and that is exactly what Access has done in another way - a more dangerous way , the internet.

Can you believe my bank sent me my statement of account by email. The whole thing sent as a pdf file. I complained to them and they repeated it this month again and I was so pissed off I was looking out all day for some ass to kick . I am sure they will do it again next month.
Another bank sent me the login for my internet banking by email - everything in one mail : login and password together!!  I nearly fainted .

Where do they hire the idiots that they put in charge of internet security in Nigerian banks ? Someone please advise them better. Internet fraud and identity theft are REAL.
