From Triangle CDY |CY|/|CD|= (8+12)/|CD|= 20/|CD|= cos DCY. Putting in eqn 2
15/17 = 20/CD or CD= 68/3
Fron eqn 1 BC=17 and 17^2+(68/3)^2= BD^2.
