Yes, the aunty is that traditional familial busybody that exists in every family but the lady brought the unnecessary pressure on herself by FORMALY inviting people to her convocation event. And it is even a first degree convocation. Madooooo! ![]() |
Two things here. First, following the death of his father Fela Seun Kuti was desperate to not allow the radically-maverick image of Fela as a non-conformist to die. So, he started unnecessary "yabis" about things which sometimes were childish. Second, led by his mother in a bid not to be cheated by the children of Fela's first wife Femi and his siblings, Seun adopted a cantankerous posture, which almost backfired if not that Femi had very early in life moved away from Fela's legacy and made name for himself as an international artiste. Consequently, he behaved as a true egbon and gave Seun love in return to his antagonism. Thus, Seun mellowed and queued behind Femi's leadership of the family as he would be the biggest loser if Femi and his siblings decide to stage claim for their father's music legacy. The deduction here is that Seun's unnecessary and poor attempt at replicating the image of father made the Media to paint him in negative light. If he had lived his own like Femi life and only drawing inspiration and leverage from his father's legacy, Seun like Femi would have been a successful musician in his own right rather than being just a performer and choreographer of Fela's old songs. He should be grateful that he has loving step-siblings in Yemi, Femi and others. |
Go on with your a*se-licking for money but please leave late Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu out of your pathetic economic adventure. Do well to respect the memory and personality of our war hero. Thank you for anticipated understanding. |
An avoidable mistake has been corrected. That young people should be given appointment doesn't mean that common sense should binned. An avoidable mistake has been corrected. That young people should be given appointment doesn't mean that common sense should binned. A chairman of board of government agency must have towering work experience to be able to supervise and superintend over the management led by the CEO and command their respect. However, this may not be applicable to private firms. Therefore, it is 'madness' for Engr. Imam Kashim Imam a rookie engineer who finished NYSC last year to chairman the board of FERMA and supervise FERMA CEO Dr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi who has PhD in Engineering and over 30 years experience in local and international civil engineering (consulting and contracting) and applied research. It could have been a non-issue if FERMA was Engr. Imam Kashim Imam's family company. |

Great project, no doubt. But wetin Badagry do please? - Badagry and its economic potentials are wasting away. - Badagry is ideal for a port but it is overlooked. - Badagry is ideal for tourist centre of choice but it is neglected. - Badagry is ideal for a film city but it is given to Epe. Even the expressway to Badagry is "one day one block" mode. Fashola was too busy with Surulere to pay attention to Badagry. Ambode promised heaven and earth but delivered nothing to Badagry. Sanwo-Olu has started his second term but still no dice for Badagry. And it is not like Badagry don't vote APC. In short they saved Tinubu's blushes in the last presidential election. Is Badagry not part of the famous Lagos masterplan? Wetin Badagry do please? Badagrylokan! |
First, I must say that former VP Osinbajo looks a lot less stressed up unlike when he was in office. I guess this can be attributed to more relaxation, peace of mind and having a lot more time to play with his wife Dolapo. ![]() Second, I still love this man for getting close to power and boldly as well as defiantly reaching for it rather than running away from a fight because Jagaban is involved or because he would be tagged a betrayer by his own people. He manned up, cut a strong political umbilical cord and took his place in history as his OWN man forever even without the support of his boss former Pres. Buhari. Every man must sometimes learn to damn the torpedo and go full steam ahead to be free. Third, if it is written, it will still come to pass. It is matter of time. |
BreconHills:If Tinubu and his team eventually come up with an economic plan you will understand what I mean. For now, all men and women of goodwill will continue to urge him to do so to revive our ailing economy. |
emmanuelbrown26:Another 4 years of economic decline will be disastrous. |
Vladimir Putin still looks badass. ![]() |
MS247:Neither Lawan nor Buhari told Tinubu not to have a plan to manage the consequences of sudden removal of petrol subsidy before doing so right there at inaugural speech. |
MS247:Removal of subsidies and increase in taxes and duties didn't wait for Ministers to be installed and budget to be approved. So why should plan to revive the economy wait. |
Several months into his presidency, President Tinubu is yet to roll out his policies, initiatives and incentive packages to revitalize the economy as well as encourage existing local investors as well as attract new investors, which will boost GDP, employment and generate taxes. What happened to that beautifully-packaged Renewed Hope manifesto? |
I doubt if President Tinubu readily has any economic plan to revive Nigerian economy. And this doubt isn't helped by the fact the Pres. Tinubu has appointed more advisers and assistants on information and communication than he has done on economic matters. |
luluman:Such a dumb reasoning. The election wasn't about human rights rating but about membership of UN human rights body. There are no stats to show that Malawi or Cote D'Ivoire has better human rights records than Nigeria. So stop focusing emotionally on inconsequential stuff. |
KpukpuyekePikin:Shut up!!! You know nothing. |
AllDModsAreMaad:You are the one who is a fat head because the election wasn't about human rights rating but about membership of UN human rights body. I agree with you, Hon. Minister. Just keep going. Nigerians appreciate positives. There are more tasks to be done. Go after those shameless immigration officials disgracing Nigeria at International airports with lack of professionalism and outright extortion. By the way, which twisted mind invented the concept of travellers being coerced to pay bribe for "virgin passport" especially at MMIA Lagos before being allowed to board? |
Membership of United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) won't increase FOREX earnings of Nigeria or improve our economy. What Nigeria desperately needs now is an economic plan and not some international diplomatic tokenism. President Tinubu, you need to wake up from slumber. Enough of haphazard policy actions. |
I doubt if President Tinubu readily has any economic plan to revive Nigerian economy. And this doubt isn't helped by the fact the Pres. Tinubu has appointed more advisers and assistants on information and communication than he has done on economic matters. Sadly instead of cutting cost of governance to complement the increase tax burden on citizens, Pres. Tinubu has put in place the largest number of ministers and personal aides since 1999. This is in spite of the glaring economic realities that demand the contrary. Sad and disappointing. Worse still, rather than lift ban on select necessary things on the list, every fu*king thing was allowed to be imported once again including confectionaries, soaps, etc which many local investors have put in their hard-earned money to manufacture locally even in the face of poor power supply and high distribution costs. How will these local manufacturers compete as the same Tinubu's government has not rolled out any incentives for local manufacturers. Now, more loans are being taken to add to the ones Buhari took. And these loans are taken without any clear roadmap on how to utilize it to revive the dwindling economy. I don't know meeeeen ... |
A mistake that should be corrected immediately. |
He probably missed a political appointment recently because of this and so quickly arranged one. He was educated in US just like his business partner D1 who obviously did his NYSC on coming back to Nigeria as he had served as a commissioner in Ogun State. Therefore, it was pure lack of foresight as a young man because he as top-drawer celebrity, years ago, could have served easily in AIT. |
I don't know whether to laugh at Bobrisky or cry for him. |

It is building up. It is about to go down. Tinubu's camp is starting a fight back. Are you ready for a royal rumble? ![]() And Peter Obi will be like "Me Lord, they have cancelled out each other. Disqualify them and declare me the winner!" ![]() |
I am not a fan of Atiku Abubakar but this write-up is a mere trash. Come on, from time immemorial, politicians and businesspeople have exploited the mistakes, shortcomings, weaknesses, scandals of their opponents or competitors to their advantage. And there are many instances of election losers turning winners overnight in Nigeria because of problems with qualifications, tax returns, age falsification, etc of their opponents. Atiku didn't commit any sacrilege by dragging President Tinubu naked in the market place. He was just trying to play the game the way it has been played from the beginning of time. The fact is that if Tinubu was in Atiku's shoes, he would have done the same or even worse. By the way, I feel that Tinubu anticipated something like this and worked ahead to surround himself with political heavyweights with heavy hefty wallets and extensive influence. The lack of support from the PDP governors, PDP NASS members and other prominent members of the party has actually painted Atiku's legal battle as PERSONAL rather than PARTISAN. I am not sure if this aloofness is handiwork of Tinubu or it is just that these PDP heavyweights also have skeletons like Tinubu and therefore considered Atiku's actions as going too far for a mere local political contestation. Whatever it is, Atiku is fast looking like an orphan and may in fact run to Dubai on a long exile when Tinubu exercises his executive power in retaliation. From all indications, only a miraculously favourable Supreme Court ruling will save him. |
