Ellasure:I love the tone of your submission. Having been on Nairaland for some time now, it sounds refreshingly mature. With it as an example, I am tempted to be bought that Femi Adesina may have been a little too childish in some of his recent communications though not too 'treasonable' to be labelled an enemy of Yoruba interests. |
I have a strong feeling that Kenya's Pres. Uhuru Kenyatta wouldn't have handed over Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to Nigeria's Pres. Buhari if he didn't get UK's approval. The fact is that Kenya is a strong member of Commonwealth Organization and Uhuru Kenyatta having escaped ICJ indictment recently wouldn't have willingly got entangled in international law scandal or in diplomatic row with UK because of Nigeria or even Pres. Buhari. No, that's not possible. So, the earlier IPOB's lawyer realized that Nnamdi Kanu is a victim of international politics, the better it is for him to stop wasting energy, time and money going back and forth with UK's diplomats in Nigeria. Moreover, I don't think Pres. Buhari postponed his scheduled medical appointment because of Kanu's arrest because he could have kept the matter in the cooler and then show Kanu to the public after his trip. |
EMMY76:What the collective will of Yoruba is depends on who is talking. To Afenifere, it is to stop Tinubu and APC. To Tinubu's supporters, it is about Yoruba getting the post of president through him. To Igboho, it is about everybody joining him to form Odua nation. And so on. |
membranus:Baba kekere Jakande remains the best SW state governor, Babatope is still active as one of SW PDP leaders, Abati was the Ogun State PDP deputy governorship candidate at 2019 polls and Femi Fani Kayode is still politically active and his social media statements still carry weight. So nobody is deriding or ignoring anybody. It is all personal political hustle for influence and resources. Don't make it personal but pray for an opportunity. |
Femi Adesina was hired like any other presidential spokesperson to amplify and project the thoughts and words of his principal, Pres. Buhari. There is no other way to do this job except the way he is doing it. It is the same way Duro Onabule did it for Ibrahim Babangida, Femi Fani Kayode did it for Baba Obasanjo, Segun Adeniyi did it for late Umaru Yar'adua, Doyin Okupe and Reuben Abati did it for Goodluck Jonathan. It is way the spokespersons of 36 Governors do it. The same way Ms. Kayleigh McEnany did it for former POTUS Trump. Above all, it was the same way late Yinka Odumakin did it for Afenifere. Femi Adesina is not the only Yoruba in Buhari's government. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Niyi Adebayo, Sunday Dare, Olamilekan Adegbite, Babatunde Fashola and Adeleke Mamora are all members of Pres. Buhari's cabinet. Hundreds more are enjoying juicy political appointments. What is more, even the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is a proud Yoruba. Therefore, it is simply wicked for Afenifere as a major ethnic organization and Pa Adebanjo as an elder to mischievously tag Femi Adesina a "a sell-out of the Yoruba people" because some Yoruba youths might misinterpret this as a 'fatwa' and therefore target Femi Adesina even when he is out of office. It is unfair to transfer one's hatred for Buhari's government, which Yoruba midwifed, to Femi Adesina and make him a scapegoat unnecessarily . |

Northern leaders are busy chasing rats while their house is on fire. Pure hypocrisy. Hiding in Abuja is not the answer because by the time the bandits grow in numbers and arms acquisition, they may desire to take their madness to Abuja. And by that time ... |
Why all these talk about losing UK citizenship? I thought Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a Biafran citizen? Am I missing something? ![]() |
JohnOkolo:There is no need to wait for amendment later as it could be done NOW as part of harmonization between the Senate and HOR versions of bill before adoption and transmission to the president. |
That will be great provided that: 1. The 3% for host communities is raised back to 5%. 2. The 30% of annual profit of the soon-to-be incorporated NNPC Limited will be kept in an escrow account to be over-seen by Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority in trust for all the federating units rather than being over-seen Federal Ministry of Finance under the presidency. In line with this, every withdrawal receives necessary approvals and monitoring. Thus the 30% will continues to accumulate as a kind of STRATEGIC RESERVE even as it is judiciously utilized for oil exploration in any part of Nigeria. |
I haven't listened to Radio Biafra before but congratulations to Simon Ekpa. I hope he engages MORE in robust discussions, constructive criticisms, unearthing of historical facts, etc that will expand the reach and listener-base of the radio. |

This turbanning looks hurriedly done. What could have made the Emir to summon members of his council for an emergency turbanning ceremony? The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind. |
President Buhari and his National Security Adviser will be studying security measures implications of the matters arising from Anambra State APGA, PDP and APC governorship primaries with a mixture of confusion and suspicion. They will be like, "are you sure this is not a grand plan by the dot people and "their IPOB' to either not hold election in Anambra State or simply cause confusion that will lead to something?" Since, all the candidates are flirting with the Judiciary for favours, I am having a feeling that the President and NSA will ultimately utilize this ongoing stupid and avoidable show of shame to pick a candidate they trust and use judiciary to enthrone him. INEC will kukuma finish the job on election day. |
Well-researched! If this were to be an academic work, I will give A+. No kidding. ![]() |
Anybody who leads a cause or movement which requires his followers to willingly suffer pain, imprisonment or death MUST be ready to also suffer any of those consequences if the fight requires it. Even at SUG level, student leaders who led protests for improved student welfare knew they could be expelled if violence developed but still went ahead and eventually took the expulsion as calmly as possible. The situation is the same for leaders of major social or political revolution. Odogwu Nnamdi Kanu should therefore face these moments of hardship calmly and boldly as a leader and as a man. More so, as many young IPOB members have paid supreme price and many more are suffering in underground dungeons. Having done well by allowing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu access to his lawyer, Federal Government should avoid making Mazi Nnamdi Kanu a MARTYR in any way or by any means. Stop hooding him or giving him humiliating treatment. Secure the court premises tightly but no special treatment as a TROPHY suspect. No unnecessary showmanship by DSS operatives. Let him go through a fair judicial trial like any other accused. The world is watching. |
Chief Olanipekun SAN can do all the technical abracadabra he is well-known for but the key issue wasn't about QUALIFICATIONS but about presentation of FORGED document. |

I am pro-restructuring but the issue of delineating the responsibilities, extent of powers and areas of coverage of State police/security outfit as opposed to national Nigerian Police Service must be meticulously and clearly done. The reality is that Nigerians are ethnic-minded. Therefore, adopting the concept of state police with only indigenes as personnel is a bad idea for National co-existence. Such will lack diversity and become a tool of intimidation by indigenes against non-indigenes resident in the State. It will be easy to conspire and frame non-indigenes for whatever reasons. All it will take, for example, is to plant a gun or illicit drug on the property of a target and buy some witnesses and the suspect will have no non-indigene officer to at least complain to. It will ethnicize the country more. It will also become a political tool of intimidation in the hands of the State Governors and their lackeys against real and percived political opponents. State governors will become dictators and parties and candidates will rarely lose any election. Our democracy will be messed up. Given our peculiarities, Nigeria needs a national Police with ethnically-diversified personnel cross-posted to states of the federation to enhance unity and reduce ethnic ethnic-driven intimidation and acts of injustice. State police should only complement national police with clear mandate and specifications. |

The PIB bill once again shows that Northern politicians are HYPOCRITICAL about United Nigeria. Their selfishness and shortsightedness are crying for stiff resistance and vengeance. |
