agaugust: SANDF helicopter was downed inside Kruger park while chasing Rhino poachers, an SANDF soldier committed suicide inside Kruger park while chasing Rhino poachers, 21 Battalion SANDF has been dribbled round the clock by Rhino poachers till frustrated, yet you say your army has tactical data-link for target ops, so why has the target been dribbling a whole battalion and special forces plus air force helicopters ?
You have a data-link Link.ZA that only works around the stadiums where FIFA World Cup was played . Rhino poachers wouldn't even dare to interfere with military. They will never even think of it. |

stillchris: dullard.
i can bet my last cent that you don't even know what it is. just the word "Tactical" amuses you south africans.
If a data link standard in order to provide communication via radio waves or cable used the military to transmit, relay and receive tactical data is not TDL,
then tell me what Nigerian Navy uses to transmit data from the ATR to navan vessels.
Or from naval control stations to naval vessels.
Or from combat areas in maiduguri to DHQ in Abuja
Or from our surveillance platforms to commanders on ground.
I can go on and on on instances it has been used.
You south Africans are just shouting TDL as if it's a technology beyond any nation's reach.
The real fraud is SANDF. No evidence of operational usage of data link. Just on paper
I hope this free education has helped you dumb he-goat. You use nothing because you don't have a tactical data link. Your ships cannot see anything. In fact with tactical data link everyone sees what they see on control stations at the same time. That's what Nigeria does not have. The person who appears to be ignorant is you. If you want free lessons about what a tactical data link is, just humbly ask and you will be given. Instead of bringing some air traffic controllers agencies and mistaken them as tactical data link Any person who knew what was a tactical data link would have never stooped to that low of showing utter ignorance about the subject. Ask and I will teach you and surely you will stop embarrassing yourself again. Just admit that you don't have a tactical data link and move on, because you will search and search for it and you won't find any. You just don't have it. What is so difficult in admitting the truth or does it pain you to swallow the truth? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 5:31pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
agaugust: Your tactical data-link has not connected your security forces together and help them defeat local Rhino poachers.
Botswana that is helping you save your Rhinos has no tactical data-link .
So how effective is your data-link in operation, not on paper, what have you achieved with it dealing with a moving target in Kruger park ?
. Military tactical data link is for exclusive military use. It is not used by anti-Rhino square nor the police. Thank you. Your ATR42 is for exclusive military use assigned to defeat BH, but it is still yet to defeat BH What a million dollar waste. |

agaugust: They think the ATR-42 in-built data-link is for interior decoration . Only there to communicate with the system partially and not together with other platforms. |

stillchris: altgough i doubt the story as reporters will want to make a meal of the whole incidence, what else would you expect.
arresting bashir would have sparked confrontations between both countries. militarily or diplomatic
and many african governments will be against SA on this one because it will amount to discrediting the AU.
your government still doesn't understand International politics Beside all the threats and intimidations, do you think ANC is that stupid to sell their souls to imperialists like ICC. |

stillchris: dullard.
that was used as an example. not for the military.
i underatand your problem though. so no worries here That was stupidd of you then. It is equivalent of suggesting that someone bought a decoder to connect to DSTV. That agency is for air traffic controllers. Their is to arrange communication equipments to ensure smooth data transfer. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 4:18pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
@Stillchris it is only SA in Africa that has a dedicated tactical data link. Admit it and make peace with it. |

stillchris: dude, i seriously don't get what the fuzz is about datalink.
if NAMA, a civil authority can have an operatiinal datalink, what makes you think the government would not provide one for the military?
The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) in conjunction with SITA is deploying Controller Pilot Data Link Communication (CPDLC) facilities at Lagos and Kano Control Centres to enhance long range data communication between Air Traffic Controllers and the Pilots. http://voiceofnigeria.org/nigeria/nama-deploys-data-link-facilities-to-boost-communication.html
We have given many proof that the Nigerian military has an operational datalink infrastructure. but being secretive, they will not let us know what type.
now the only thing i se here is south africans have never seen proof of SANDF operationak datalink. if there is, give us one instance where it's been used.
simple Bwhahahahajajajajajajajajajanaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa… Wow! This man finished my breath. Those are for civilian Air traffic controllers and since when is that a tactical data link. Here it looks like even ATR 42 couldn't use a tactical data link rather the system was partial communicating with itself, that's why Italy ordered it. http://theaviationist.com/2008/12/22/four-atr72mp-to-replace-the-ageing-italian-fleet-of-br1150-atlantic/ |

stillchris: and our airforce sent target cordinates from ATR 42 to artillery units on ground during surveillance on boki haram positions through whatsapp?
keep decieving yourself You still do not have a tactical data link. The first ATR to be configured with compatibility to LINK 11 and 16 is ATR 72 http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/atr-72-asw-anti-submarine-warfare-aircraft/ The aircraft is attached with a mobile turret mounted with electro-optic (EO) system for real-time tactical situation awareness. Thales AMASCOS (Airborne Maritime Situation & Control System) mission system and AIS (Automatic Identification System) will be fitted to the ATR72-600 TMPA. It will also feature a Link 11 / 16 data-link and broadband satellite systems. This will be used for the transfer of data in real-time to the ground command and control centres, as well as other platforms, both in air and on sea. |

stillchris: Logic
"reasoned and reasonable judgment" (Advanced English Dictionary)
are you now looking for word definitions? is that what you have been reduced to? does this prove you have more than 9 pilots? huh? You do not even have more than 6 operational F7s and as things are standing you only have three F7 pilots. |

agaugust: Your own source denies your claim, it says Sea Spray radar is for ATR-72 only !
We need to agree on radar type or else how do we argue about radar range when we both dis-agree on what radar is on the ATR-42 ?
Post for us a source to prove your claim that ATR-42 uses Sea Spray radar you FRAUDSTER !
. ATR 72 is far more advanced than grandfather ATR42. In fact seaspray with ATOS appears to be important element. If SA will have to buy ATR I will recommend it to be among the number of possible choices. It is said that it can also be armed with Exocet AS missile as well. However, both system are said to be less capable. |

You posted a wrong citation, ATR-72 is NOT = ATR-42.

agaugust: If you don't have qualifying hours in the air on a particular aircraft, you are NOT combat qualified.
You are a probably toilet cleaner in aviation industry. You see qualifying hours is another thing, but all our combat pilots ( former Cheetahs) have so far graduated to gripens. They all have the experience of sitting on the gripens cockpit. Currently SAAF has 18 newly recruited combat pilots who still fly hawks. We don't hire toilet cleaners in aviation, we outsource that work to Nigerian immigrants |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 1:46pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
agaugust: Let me make brain work easy for you.
Hawk has not radar. Gripen has radar.
Hawk jet does NOT do air to air combat, it is a trainer/ light ground attack jet, so how does a Hawk pilot enter a Gripen and fly air to air combat sortie against an F-7 jet pilot that has trained to fire air to air missiles and do jet vs jet combat maneuver plus dogfight ?
A Hawk pilot flying a Gripen to do air combat against air superiority enemy jets is going to die young . You will never understand because you are not in aviation industry. All our combat pilots used to fly supersonic cheetahs and now the thing is that before they could go on to the gripens they familiarise them with gripen cockpit on the hawks. It looks the same. What you see on the gripen is what you see on the hawks cockpit. That's why hawks is just the training platform for gripen fighter. |

agaugust: Do your subsonic Hawk pilots also fly supersonic Gripen for 150 hours a year plus 150 hours on Hawk = 300 hours per pilot ?
Show us proof ! A Toyota double cab is not a sport car but it does not mean a driver of a double cap cannot drive a turbo sport car. Hawks are only a training platforms for gripens pilots. |
