Unfortunately South African military has NOTHING that can take out a Nigerian Roland.

I proved that ALL your expensive guided bombs will be sh.ot down easily.

Roland only for Sub-sonic fighters?

You just proved that ALL you are saying about Roland is total rubbish comments based on fear, envy, and humiliation.

Roland shot down many supersonic speed jets :

F-5E Tiger

F-4E Phantom

GR-1 Tornado with 2,400 km/hr supersonic speed limit and 1,500 km/hr supersonic speed in attack mode at medium and low level.

Nigerian Roland missile is the king of air defence in all Sub-Saharan Africa today
.
Agaugu your Roland shot at old generation of Aircraft and it is now outdated. Roland is just an old horse that you cannot trust at all on the race. SAAF has the full capacity to take all tour 16 Roland systems without any fuss.

Engage Roland only at night with the application of EW and see how your Roland will disappoint you.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 4:02pm On Apr 27, 2015
The reason why many countries have dumbed Grandfather Roland is because it is easy to jam. It is not jam resistive at all. Its optical tracking system has to be used only during the day. Currently, the gripen warfare electronic system can jam Roland without any difficulty and give way to hawks which will take it out at far distances. When the radar has been jammed it leaves the gunners with no choice but to use the optical system. Human are not as accurate as the radar.

That is the biggest weakness of Grandfather Roland.

I mean a South African product 100%

We don't want American or British input in assessing African achievement.

Common sense should tell you that we are comparing African nations creativity, not joint venture collaboration with Americans or Europeans.

You see how difficult it is for you black and coloured South Africans to stand alone on your two feet without white support linked to Europe and America or Australia/New Zealand?

You guys are empty headed Soweto grade dundeees grin grin
.
Firstly you will have to understand that SA is a multiracial country. We cannot continue to make all black movies like Nigeria every time. However, SA does have many movies produced in SA by South Africans 100%. We.also trained many Bollywood film directors.

It's top secret because you won't find any written source to confirm it. You won't know the number of jets or prices, nor the versions, same way you won't know the export country. That's top secrecy by any standards.

Su-25 Frogfoot is coming to NAF, to replace Super Tucano as COIN aircraft, only some financial allegations slows it down.

http://tech.euoa.net/tag/nigeria

http://thenationonlineng.net/new/nigeria-set-lose-466m-arms-deal/

Su-30 Flanker is still under evaluation for NAF as a second addition to the JF-17 that has been fully evaluated and awaiting paper signature.

NAF is buying both a heavy super maneuverable jet with about 400 km range radar plus a light jet to be manufactured in Nigeria in future with the original manufacturer transfering technology 100%.

Perfect plans for air power to dominate African airspace, NAF is not in a hurry, slow but steady we go, even Egypt will envy Nigerian air force
.
Nigeria can never afford brand new SU-30s.

Gallant Naija sojas ... Agaugust, Henry120, Chris, Iterator, Fydence, Evarn, Lezz, Elka, Asuokaa, OverhypedSteve, et al ... una do well.

Just thought I'd mention ... it's now time for me to return home to my family as things begin to wind down for me in the frontlines. In deed, this thread has been the place where I have passed personal time inbetween the volatile COIN combat and intel ops in the service of fatherland Nigeria. Throughout the good and bad days, and near fatal events in the field, I have found courage and determination interacting with you great sons and brothers of our great country NIGERIA. Many thanks to our President and C-I-C ... we are on the final phases towards neutralising future brutal terrorist attacks on our soil.

I will be around ... quieter, but this time resting and reintegrating myself back to the normal military routine outside the NE. Always remember that our eyes are watching and reading with pride all that we do here to etch Nigeria's great name and exploits in the sands of time.

In deed it is #VictoryForNigeria and #NeverAgain to terrorist impunity on Nigerian soil. Long live President Jonathan! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria! Long live us all.

In answer to the question headlined by this thread: it's (1) Egypt (2) Nigeria (3) The Rest.

cool cool cool

Goodnight as you keep the flag flying!
What a good tale to narrate to your children. It is perfectly suitable to be told to small children and will surely entertain them.

Defence industry is manufacturing, not exporting. You are talking about overseas sales instead of industrial production.

The biggest and best defence industry in Africa is Egypt, but their military is so big and powerful with millions of soldiers, that they absorb all their defence manufacturing into their armed forces and nothing left for export.

Egypt has manufactured about 1,000 main battle tanks, but South Africa has NEVER manufactured even 1 piece.

Egypt manufactured jet fighter engines but South Africa does not.

Egypt has manufactured over 10,000 guided missiles but South Africa is still 10 times far behind in numbers produced.

Egypt manufactures modern long range ballistic missiles designed locally at home and built at home, South Africa does not have any functioning ballistic missile in it's arsenal and has NOT produced a modern ICBM in history.

The best and biggest defence industry in Africa is that of Egypt, but they don't go on internet and boast like the empty barrel called South Africa

FACT !!
.
SA produced ICBM with the help of Israel even before Egypt started thinking about them.

SA is undoubtedly most developed arms manufacturers in Africa, and Egypt does not even come any closer nor Nigeria. We have over hundred Defence industries, Monkey; and Egypt does not even have over five defence industries.

This monkey does not know how to differentiate between SA Afrikaners and Russians, Americans, British, Italians, etc. Afrikaners skin has more red than white. Russians skins have spats and those are undoubtedly Afrikaners from SA monkey.

You are not even ashamed that your fellow monkey has just been made a guard while genuine people use their minds.

Guys, applications still open, hurry now.
The only time I will agree to work in Nigeria is when an agreement can be signed that I will earn more than Jonathan just like they agreed to pay South African mercenaries. Some even left their posts in Iraq to Nigeria where milk and honey were plenty.

Splashing money on mercenaries just to save your pride when millions of Nigerians live below the bread line. AU offered to help free and instead you are splashing money on foreigners to enforce your security. Shame!!!

Monkeys have no technical skills, the only skill that monkeys have is that of stealing mealies and climbing trees. The monkey does not even have then skill to hide its own waste, rather it would drop them helter skelter all over the place until it begins to smell. That's all the features that monkeys have and no matter how hard you will try to built a man out of a monkey, the bush inside the monkey won't go away.

Moreover, Nigeria acquired helicopter pilots, former fighter pilots who used to fly cheetahs at an exorbitant amount of money just to train their pilots. However, now since there was no time they are now operating the fleet themselves.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 10:51pm On Mar 14, 2015
The truth has now been revealed. Due to my closeness to Afrikaanse gemeenskap because of my bloodline, I have been able to meet with people who had the information about the developments around South Africans in Nigeria. It is by no any bias to reveal to you that the Nigerian government truly hired SA mercenaries and not technicians as they claim. This information only arise after the death of Leon who was a former member of Koevoet and now the Afrikaans community is in rage with the ANC government that cannot give them jobs.

It has been revealed that many of these mercenaries whom some are serving in Iraq are mainly made up of young Afrikaner boys and Couloureds. In Nigeria, however South Africans did not want to work hand in hand with the local force because some of them were suspected of having been compromised to insurgents. They were being suspected of having spies among them whom would collect information about their activities and communicate it to terrorists. These mercenaries are doing the job as they could confirm to their fellow compatriots in SA and the military is doing the clean up. They should ensure as always that their engagements is kept secret, but they are now most certain that their cover has now been blown out because of the death of their colleague.

However, it only happened that fateful day they were asked to incooperate with the local army so that they could learn one or two about their skills, little did they know that they were about to lose the life of a colleague and mentor. The army mistakened his convoy on the road as Boko harm and one tank shot at them.

At one point I was also lured to join one of these companies because of the money that was involved. Mercenaries earn from $20 000 to $50 000 and some earn even more than the President of their host countries. Those people, one thing for sure is that they will suck Nigeria dry. I bet you. If the wealthy US could complain about their billions of money which was used to pay those people, what of poor Nigeria? Many of them are paid far more than Jonathan.

Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Ashrat Salama, has called on Nigeria to collaborate against the terrorist group, Islamic State and ensure the establishment of a multi-national force against it, he particularly noted that it was necessary for Nigeria to work with Egypt to combat the terrorist group. “It is too big for Egypt alone, you cannot go just because you are provoked, you have to plan well. We must not give a chance to these terrorists,” he added.

100% I agree, those are just mere jumpers by the kind of parachute they use. It was merely made for safe landing and not to be maneuvered in the air to land where the operator want. They are not free fall operators like SANDF paratroopers. Nigeria has no single free fall operator and they are still babies as far as parachuting is concerned.
