Ladyjane5657:Please give it up already. Try and exercise restraints as advised earlier. I am not saying this because I am a patriarchal Heriot or because I am jealous and suffering from inferiority complex. I am not even saying it because I want to form savage. I really mean this as an advice. The atmosphere is getting tensed, don't let it get to you. Even when you try try to mask the tension under those "happy" emojis, your true emotions can be felt through your written words. We will be alright LadyJane. We will all be. Have a blessed day ahead. |

askotaks01:LOL. Why does this sound like what banks do towards the end of the month? They try as much as possible to lock in funds so that their deposits for the month would look good. Then the next month, the funds can vamoose, then they begin another frantic search for funds for the new month. NNPC cannot do this. Firstly, the reimbursement was budgeted for. Secondly, they are bigger than that. So far, no one has been able to propound a convincing reason to support the haphazard nature of the reimbursements, but for those that will make it to the towers eventually, please help us ask Lazarus and the rest. They are in a better position to answer. Good evening fellow hopefuls. |
I remember when I was seeking admission. I took my first JAMB exam, had a pretty high score. It was time for post ume. I travelled a long distance to take the maiden CBT test of my "to be" school organised by the popular Jkk etc. That pilot test was a complete failure. A lot of aspirants did not see their scores when it was time to check online. I was on the School's page for a very long time, trying to check if the error had been rectified. My dad told me of an uncle I had then. This my uncle assured me he was working on it. He told me I'd surely gain admission that year. Every time I called at night, he would assure me he was just coming from the senate building, that my case would be resolved. First admission list came out, my name was no where to be found. Second list, even a third list, my name was absent. Surprisingly, this my uncle, who also doubled as my source, did not even know when the first list was released. He just kept assuring me that my name would be on the admission list. It was when the second list got released that I told him I couldn't find my name. He just mumbled some words and that was the last I heard from him. The next year, I geared up, even passing with a score far above that of the previous year. At this point, my dad called this so-called uncle and added more uncles, friends and associates to the "source list". I took the post ume again and this time my score fell on the merit side. Even when I assured my dad I was home and dry with my score, he wouldn't have non of it. I was in constant communication with the group of sources. They kept telling me they were working on it. There was this girl that had a not too good O'level result. She had a source that told her he was going to ensure she gains admission. She applied to study Mass Communication. On my part, I was constantly checking the School's website for any sign of admission list. Then one fateful day, I checked and nothing was there, about 5 minutes later I checked back, and it was written in bold red colours that the admission list was out. I rushed to check. It involved typing either jamb reg number or name or you can just click a department and check under it. I immediately made use of the typing option. There on my phone's screen was my name. I was in at last. It was an euphoric moment. I immediately searched for the girl's name and saw she was admitted to study Sociology. I decided to run a little test. I called all my sources and they were all telling me that the list wasn't out yet. That it was still going to take a long time. One even said he just came from the VC office. He said they were only just compiling the list. One said I should relax, that he just went to submit my name. The smirk on my face was one of extreme satisfaction. Then I went to the girl's house and asked her about her source. I intentionally concealed the admission news from her because I was sure she wouldn't know. She said her source said he was there live when her name was been written in the Mass Comm list, that it only remained for the list to be typed the next week, then admission would follow. I gave a very hearty laughter. She just looked at me like some slowpoke. I told her plainly that the admission list was out and she denied vehemently. Saying her source only said the names had been written but not yet typed. I only brought out my phone and typed her name. She looked dumbfounded. She called the source and that one was still insistent on the list not even being near ready. She ended the call and we talked about preparation. It was not until I got to school, that I discovered that most of the University staff (Academic especially) usually have no concrete information at their disposal. There are a whole lot of info we students would even be privy to and they wouldn't have a single idea. I was a renowned "admission helper" while in school. Surprisingly, the person that was running the admissions for me then was a security personnel attached to the senate building. I had an uncle that was a dean and a member of senate council. This man did not for once help. Every admission period, this security guy will be the first to contact me and tell me to get my candidates' details ready. And it worked 100% of the time. I left school and went for NYSC. My sweet PPA was influenced by a cleaner. At no cost at all. I started job hunting and got lucky to be employed as a support staff in a bank. A lot of people would tell me to help them. I'd just smile and tell them the truth straightaway, there is nothing I can do. Some would doubt you while some will understand after listening to explanations. They don't even know that the job is not what I'd pray for my enemy to get. But in a bid to keep body and soul together, man must still work regardless of the nature of job. What am I saying with all the long epistles? I am speaking to the people that have various sources. As long as these sources are not your immediate family members (father, mother, brother or sister), they are likely to give you information you'd like to hear just for clout. So far, I have not seen anyone that has claimed to have gotten any info from any of the lower echelon staff. These people are very harmed with vital information. There are people claiming links to GGMs, COOs and the rest. I believe these ones minimally. Sources can be highly distracting. But the fact is that you'd know a legit source when you see one. Take for instance, Jarus' sources, they just got back to him on possible timeline for APL disbursement and that was it. It was even mentioned here that the way some sources were hush hush about the processes after interview, it was an indication of an instruction within the tower from the management. In conclusion, not everyone will get this APL, but if you do get it and someone you know or an acquaintance you've made does not, please don't sever ties with them. May who God favour rest on be well favoured. Amen. |
There was a silence and tranquility that pervaded this thread just before invite for shortlisted candidates for the selection test rolled in. Before the silence, there was back and forth bickering about the application process. Then the mails rolled in, this place picked up again. After the test, another round of activities started. People with various sources and other people attacking their source. A pure cacophony of words clashes. Then the usual silence followed. Like a thief in the night, interview invites rolled in. You know the rest. Since after the interview, that silence has not come. The excitement, agitation, anxiety won't even allow the silence come in peace. Following previous patterns, can we rightly conclude that APL is also expecting the same silence before making an appearance? This is just me thinking on a lighter mood....... Good evening everyone. |
Paid at last. It seems Farouq picked the sheet for GTs that had their interview on the 4th. Confirmed from two other friends, they've been paid too. GT kwara CBT, 4th.
|
nihelimitretep:From those that have confirmed being paid today, the amount is 14k. I am GT though. Still expecting mine. The Kwara CBT/4th that have been paid this morning are EHs, I stand to be corrected though. |
So, Lazarus has picked up the sheet containing the list of EH that had their interview on the 4th. To think it was yesterday I was just talking about 4th/Kwara not being paid yet. I do hope he is the one to disburse those of GT too. That Tfare can do lots of good at this period. |
I think the mystery shrouding the Transport fare is gradually getting unraveled. Payments are made mostly according to date of interview, followed by CBT centers then amount. Based on observation, I discovered that the first set of mass payments (6th of July interviewees) were paid 20k, with majority coming from Lagos and Port Harcourt. The reason why that particular day was highly publicized is because a lot of Nairaland's ACTIVE users are Lagos based. Some people from other locations got paid too on that same 6th, but they were in the minority. With what I have come to observe, NNPC had a template for the interview invite and I'd try to draft a rough sketch of this template. On every interview day, certain states would dominate the list for a stipulated time. Take for instance, on the 1st, 7am, each panel would attend to people that had their CBT from a particular state. Assuming you had your interview slated for 7am, and you made it to panel 13, there is every likelihood that the 5 of you called up at that point in time had your CBTs in the same state. Meanwhile, at the same time in another panel, say panel 15, the people that would be called up would be people from another state entirely. The reason for my guess is this, in my panel, we were the first to go in for 12pm batch for that particular panel. The last guy for the 9am batch was seated awaiting his turn. The 5 of us that just got called up got talking and we discovered we all had our CBT in the same state, not same center. The other 4 were from same state excluding me who was from a different state. A man even came to engage us, and was saying it that those 4 were competing against themselves. We then shifted our attention to the guy we met, we asked if he wrote his Cbt in the state we did ours, he replied with an emphatic no, and even went ahead to tell us that the guys they called up together, i.e, the last set for 9am wrote their CBT in the same state. I was at the interview with a friend from same CBT state. He was slated for 2pm I think, but a different discipline entirely. I asked if he noticed anything about the people he was called with to his panel and he pointed out that their CBT centre was the same state. Another clear pattern established. Now, lumping all these together, we can establish an interview invite pattern, then from there draw a reasonable inference regarding the pattern of Tfare payment. 1. The panels are discipline/department specific - Correct. 2. When a particular set of interviewees of a particular time gets called up, first it is clear that they are of same discipline set(e.g Economics/Accounting/finance/banking & finance).. Secondly, they all did their CBT in the same state. 3. Which means on any set date, people of different CBT states interviewed. One thing that is sure though is that certain dates dominates a particular date. 4. This explains why when some dates get paid, we get to hear of certain states dominating the payment. 5. Some of those dates that have been settled has Lagos, Kaduna, Portharcourt, Oyo, Abuja as domineering states. The core Northern states dominated too, but we can't be privy to that because most of them are not here, but they have gotten nonetheless. I confirmed from some Northern friends that has friends from there. 6. That explains why the recent payment of 2nd of July had a lot of Nasarawa, Jos, Benue, Niger among others. 7. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure 4th,1st, 5th have not been paid. As for 4th which I belong to, a lot of kwara CBT candidate dominated that same day and none of them have been paid. What this means is that payment is done by picking the sheet of papers that has our account details, then pay everyone in that order. Everyone will still get paid at the end of the day. Except in the case of error. This is just me with my usual way of thinking. If you point out any observation or point made in error, you can kindly call my attention to it. We are all in this together. Local men formulating theories and lightening the thread's atmosphere with high level comic relief and ridiculous and rib cracking theories. You are all appreciated. As for we the foreign men, we look on and follow with interest till the last day. Foreign men has no association for now, but anyone can take the initiative to get us started, registered and fully incorporated. Unlike Local men that can't can, we foreign men can all the time. Peace to you all. |
Stop please.......He invited Muslims. Why beg to be a part of a party that is not related to you.I have always said it that most of you on this thread cannot just have respect for people, their opinion and the choices they make. In your haste to garner likes and attract attention to yourself, you have only succeeded in highlighting your ignorance. I don't dignify people like you with a response, but I guess I will have to in this case. I have been a silent follower of Jarus since my undergraduate days. I read his article on "How to make a first class". It was very helpful to me as it served as a guide throughout my undergraduate days. Especially given the fact that he studied the same course I was taking in school then. I followed him up to the point that he had an interview with Chanels TV some years back. I watched with glee as he analysed issues especially those concerning the economy. I finished school and continued following his acvtivities in the politics section and of course, the jobs/vacancy section. So, it is suffice to say that he is a kind of mentor, an inspiration. Of course, he doesn't know all of these and I am sure there are countless Nairalanders that hold same view about him. Now, tell me why such a person will be in the same town that I will coincidentally be and I won't explore that opportunity to meet with him physically? You accuse me of begging, where did you spot begging in my post? You talked about acting dependent, except you have a rare gift of pre-empting someone's intentions, how did my post connote dependence? It's not like I am so dumb and naive to the point that I would expect him to be able to help concerning this recruitment. I am sure your networking skills is very poor, hence you would have seen the need for me to meet with him, Sallah or not. I am sure because he is on this NNPC thread and has made it known that he inteviewed like the rest of us, a lot of us here have taken him for granted. He is big, as in very big. Nothing will ever take that away from him, especially to those of us that have followed him since aeons. So, because it is Sallah, I shouldn't meet with Jarus. When in actual fact I have lots of muslims folks I would be spending the festivity with. I don't know why you deactivated, but I would have loved you to stay on and try to pick offense with this reply, then we would roll in the mud together. That I assure you. Good Day! |
Jarus:I will be in Offa. A Christian. Am I welcomed? |
- In 2015, the minister of state for petroleum/NNPC GMD, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu came out to say that the NNPC was overstaffed. - The corporation went on to create seven divisions and several other subsidiaries in 2016. After doing this, the same man had to take back his words by saying the restructuring actually brought to fore the need for more staff since it was discovered that the corporation was actually understaffed. - The last set of recruited staff resumed the towers in 2012. - The 2014 recruitment was cancelled by the Buhari led government in 2015. - According to figures from the 2012 recruitment, about 595 GTs were employed. - Bebrief, Xfire and of course some of those successful candidates have since left the corporation. - Promotion is conducted every 3 years. 2012 to date is seven years. Which indicates that those set of GTs have earned at least a step higher up their career ladder. - A member of the panel that interviewed me told me that NNPC was going commercial, which conotes the need for more hands. - NNPC released its financials recently and they recorded a trade surplus of over N6bn. Which lends credence to this issue of commercialisation. What is the essence of the nonsense I have conjured up there? The summary, let us bring dots, connect them and make realistic inferences. I am very surprised that no one has ever had any thoughts along this line. This is what we should be discussing and not creating tension all over the place. Some people have been placed on perpetual thinking since several theories started making the rounds. I see a lot of people bringing forth unsubtatiated news. If you don't know, you are killing some people by your actions. Let us try to connect dots and not ridicule people in the name of having fun. We are done with interviews, any discussion we should be having should be in line with realistic expectations. Thank God for Xfire who deemed it fit to tell us about some processes after APL. This should be the core of our discussions. I bet you most of the people laughing and catching harmful fun won't be able to do same if APLs eventually gets churned out and they didn't make the cut. They would be the same ones that will start formulating other theories. Let us be considerate in all we do. Moderation is golden if you must know. I am sorry in advance for any one that will take offence to my post. I beg you in God's name, no one should quote me to form savagery. If you do, you will end up looking the fool because you won't even be dignified with a response. Thank you. |
So, apparently I shared my interview experience and some people thought it would be nice of them to be an advocate of "due process" by being on the offensive. I'd be addressing you guys in a structured, numerical pattern below. 1. From the beginning of this whole exercise, I decided in my mind that I was going to give detailed account of every phase I was going to witness. This is not for any other person, but for the purpose of people that would be undergoing this same process in the future. 2. I didn't say anything after the test when I saw the way a lot of people were going about saying the test was too simple and others attacking them. I knew there and then that a lot of people has no respect for opinions here. There was even a time I shared some insight when we were waiting for interview invite, I got attacked too. People like showing by all means the superiority of their opinions. As a matter of fact, it was part of the situational judgement questions asked yesterday. 3. After getting the interview invite, I decided I would try my best to access people's experiences from the internet, most notably from the last nnpc thread of 2012. But one thing I noticed was that there was no detailed experience written down by any one of them. 4. It was at that point, I promised I was going to give a detailed account of my own experience. As a matter of fact, when I saw people from the first day shying away from even talking about the procedures, I knew I just had to share it all. I remembered someone asking about transport stipend. No one answered until after the 2nd day or so, that someone generous enough decided to give answer to the question. Now, to the bone of contention. 1. It was mentioned that I gave people heads up, and I read through my experience and did not see where I gave a very explicit "heads up". 2. If telling someone to make sure not to forget any of their original credentials is a kind of heads up, then I am proud of such heads up. I knew the kind of tension some people were placed in just because of this issue. I don't want anyone to ever experience that. Even if the person is a competitor. To hell with competition. What will be will be. 2. I talked about something peculiar to my panel and of course something generic across all panels. In all of this, I didn't mention the questions asked me. I only said I was asked 2 situational questions and a discipline related question. Heck, I did not even make a mention of my discipline. As of the time I shared my experience, I am sure no other person was awaiting interview. Therefore, the generic safety question I shared was no longer relevant because a different one would be asked the next day(today). I mentioned that explicitly in my post. 3. If you think, by sharing my experience, I engaged in malpractice or an amoral act, then I hereby tender my apology. If you feel it has reduced your chance of making it, then I am even more sorry. 4. However, given same opportunity again, I would gladly share my full experience. I am sorry in advance. I still wish all of us success, NNPC or not! |
Hello everyone. I'd like to share my experience today. My interview was slated for 4th of July(today), 12pm. I had another test to take at 9am in another organisation. Luckily it was in the same location (CBD). I finished my test around 11am. I rushed to take a cab going to the secretariat, from there I connected NNPC towers. I got there around 11:20am. When you get to the front, you are likely to fret. This is where you see a lot of people lined up from the gate stretching almost to the junction. See crowd on suit na. Luckily, I got there almost in time, because just as I was asking someone on the queue about his time, a man summoned us from the front of the gate. We formed a straight line and made our way into the tower. The man was saying, "12'o clock, come in now or never". We were on the straight line to the entrance where our ID cards were verified alongside our letter of invitation. From there, we proceeded to block A, I guess where we sat down with other invited Candidates. Some already had their letters of invitation verified while some were like us awaiting verification. After verification, which involves signing on your invitation letter, we'd move to signing of documents (original) and sighting of originals. Please take note that if you don't go with your originals, or you miss just one, your documents won't be validated and you can't proceed to the amphitheatre. Take very important note of this for those that would be interviewing later. After validation of documents, you will sign in. After that, you would proceed to the amphitheatre. This is designed like a typical cinema hall. Here, you'd meet another set of nnpc staff. Here, they would try to make you feel at ease. They are there to call you to your panel. As a matter of fact, I think their job is more of making us comfortable than actually calling us in to our panel. There was a particular man there that was more of a comedian. Very humorous man. There are table water for you at every entry point. You can just take water when you are thirsty. Here, a clip would also be played telling you about what to do in case of an emergency. And also safety tips in the tower. After you get called, ushers assigned to your panel would lead you to your panel room or floor as the case maybe. I discovered all of us called for that panel were from same discipline and we wrote our test in the same state. A quick check with my friend in another panel also revealed same thing. I was interviewed in the floor that housed the department my discipline would fit in. Take for instance, if you read courses like history, english, linguistics, you would be interviewed at the corporate service department. If you read Economics, business administration, you'd be interviewed at the finance and accounts department. A senior official even came out at a point to say we are all competing with people from our state. Someone cautioned him and he just left laughing. I guess it was supposed to be a classified info. Enough of procedures, now to my interview experience. I got in and the members of the panel offered me the only available seat placed before them. They made a joke of my name asking for the correct pronunciation. That was a way of actually making me feel relaxed. They introduced themselves, then told me to do same (can we meet you?). I did. The first man asked a situational judgement question. The second (a woman) asked a discipline related question. The third man asked another situational question. And the final question was about the generic safety question for today. Note that each day has a generic safety question. Today's safety question was: "you have just been promoted as a manager of a petrol station, what are the safety measure you'd take to prevent a fire incident". It was asked in all the panels. I was asked if I had a question, I said no, but I'd love to commend the whole process. I made them understand I was wowed. On my performance, I won't say I performed well, I did my best and the fact remains that God can always spin surprises. When they ask things I didn't know, I am always quick to point it out to them that I had no idea and I would like them to enlighten me. They were more than glad to do so. At the end, you'd be ushered to block D where you will sign out, then fill out a form where you'd enter you account details for reimbursement of transport fare. Even if I don't eventually get this job, I would always be proud of the fact that I once participated in the most transparent and seamless recruitment process ever. And that coming from the Nigerian government. Damn! I was blown away by the whole organisation, process and execution. The members of staff were so courteous and ever ready to help. I am guessing they were all trained for more than a month. Because to achieve this level of efficiency, a lot of resources would have been expended. May God be with those that are preparing for theirs. May God remain with those of us that have written. No matter the outcome, it would all end in praise. Goodluck guys. |

God! Here we go again. We have to select among a list of three test centers (States). To think I was almost thankful that this particular recruitment won't tow that line. Just this month alone, I have embarked on more than 3 journeys to either take a test or an interview. All because of seeking the good life. Now, the funds are fast diminishing with no hope of replenishment anytime soon. I have to travel all the way to Lagos from Ilorin for me to take this physical test. God please deliver all of us from this anguish. The pains of passing through the Nigerian educational system is killing already. To make a good life out of that pain is even more herculean. I will struggle to go to that Lagos, just like a lot of people here too, but my plea is this, God, look into our matter, hearken to our yearnings, lift this burden off us. Please God, we pray fervently. Na make we wan make am, we no wan kill person. I wish all of us success. That light at the end of the tunnel ehn, we will not only see it, we will shine under it and enjoy our own spotlight moment too. Peace |

It is deep. Just like naive guys can't let go of the first girl that treats them like trash while going out of their way to please the girl. Emotions can mess up with rational thinking. And of course with the kind of prestige placed on virginity, a girl losing it to a guy, especially one she shared something special with, is akin to a fish entering fresh water after like 10 minutes on dry land. |
