Edo State police command on Friday paraded a 42-year old man, Uchenna Duru, posing as a lawyer to defraud one Abdulahi Ruth of Airforce School of an undisclosed amount of money and her Toyota car.

The suspect specialized in duping single mothers after promising to marry them. Uchenna was said to have promised to marry a lady in #Owerri, #ImoState, but never turned up on the wedding day despite preparation by the lady in question. .

He was arrested on October 29 by the police who were on his trail since December 2018 after Mrs. Ruth reported that he defrauded her too.

Police investigation showed that Uchenna had promised to marry a friend of Ruth, one Madam Adams Dora, whom he met on the social media. .

It was learnt that wedding introduction was conducted and Uchenna collected N1m from Dora under the pretence of buying her a car worth N2.5m ahead of the wedding in December 2018. Dora told newsmen she never saw Uchenna again. .

She said Uchenna told her he was a divorcee with two children. After the arrest of Uchenna, another lady, Faith Eriamiatoe, turned up and alleged that Uhenna also promised to marry her.

Faith said Uchenna defrauded her the sum of N73,000 on the pretence to supply her auction goods from the Nigeria Custom Service. She said she met Uchenna in October and he promised to marry her by December but she insisted it was too early. .

However, Uchenna insisted that he studied law at the Imo State University but never went to Law School. He said he is an electrician and also import goods from abroad. .

Uchenna said he left Dora because he discovered she has four children from a previous marriage and he has five children. He denied defrauding the women sayig they would meet in court.

ALIU* who happens to be in the *ASUU/STUDENT committee* who are poised at maintaining cordial relationships between Student and lecturer have since been harassing and placing fear in the mind of students who are ready to learn. *HOW THEN DO WE NOW CREATE A WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH LECTURERS AND STUDENT?*

In Line with the Student *Handbook and Degree 27* who guides both staffs and students it's against the law to harass student on any ground but rather invoke the law

'My name is Ede Favour Chizoba, after so many trauma in my life, I started to make snacks and I will supply them in my streets and outside my street, I do it for a year that was on 2017.

The money I saved from my snacks business I use it to start traveling from Abuja to Kano with Night bus, to buy cloths and I will resale them at Utako Market, I started the business on 13th June, 2018.

On 2019 I started planning how to get a shop inside the market, but on the 10th June, 2019, I was coming back from market around 6:30pm, I boarded a car at Jabi Arab Junction Abuja, to my house at Lugbe, inside the car was driver and two other young guys.
Unknowing that the car is one-chance immediately I entered inside the car and close the door, they zoom off and wind up glass and the glass was tinted, they volume their music and pressed me down. Then they started rubbing me and do a lot of transaction on my account, which they transfer Three Hundred and Sixty Thousand Two Hundred Naira (N360,200.00) from my account to two different accounts Eco Bank and GT Bank, through P.O.S.

And withdraw One Hundred and Six Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Five Naira (N106,225.00) Through ATM and took One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) from my purse and my Phone Infinix Hot 5, cost N36,000.

During the time they trying to depressed me down, they really hit me with hammer, which affect my bone, my first Aid and my bone therapy cost me 619,155 my treatment and the ones they rubies me is total of (1,221,580).

Immediately I reported my case to Utako Division on the 12th June, 2019 of the D.C.O instruct I.P.O to follow the case up. The I.P.O makes me to spend more than 10,000 and I gave him all the evident I have, he write to the bank, when he got the man, he settle with him with out informing me. Each time I called him, he will be feeling disturbed, if I meet him in the office he will tell me to go that he is working on it and he will never call me back.

On the 31st July, 2019, I took my case to Police Headquarter Area 11, my I.P.O is Mr. Femi, my case was carried out immediately and he never request for any money from me; I send him all the evidence I have on his whatsapp.

On the 15th August, 2019 at noon time he invited me to his office and show me the man that own the P.O.S and his staff, my I.P.O proof to the man and his friend so many evidence which proof that his hand is on my case, even the man P.O.S address that he is using in his office is fake address all he does is to be having side talk with my I. P. O.

The man has nothing to justify himself right there he agree to pay me my money. The man still in the office when my I.P.O ask me to go home that he want to further his investigation on the 2nd account which is GT Bank.

After 3 weeks I don’t hear from him I went to his office on Friday, but he ask me to come back on Monday. On that Monday I came back to his office he gave me statement of GT Bank saying that my transaction did not show on it, that he is confused about my case, but he will still try his best on it. He gave me copy of the GTB documents when I took it to nearby branch, one of the Bank staff told me that the documents is not from them because there was no GT Bank Logo and official stamp on it. and since then till now, he never call me or do anything about my case. He close my case. with a wounded heart, I Appeal before this great forum, to join hands with m :oe and get me justice. Right now my landlady is on my neck, those that sponsored my Bone therapy with hope I will get justice and pay them back is also on my neck......

Am passing through so many traumas right now; am just a young girl trying to survive. I have all the evidence to proveconsideration'

Two muslim students of the Lagos State University (LASU) on Monday narrated before an Ikeja Special Offences Court how they were robbed and despoil.d at gunpoint by a fellow student, Afeez Ogunbowale.

The students, who were both wearing niqabs (Islamic garment which covers the body leaving the eyes uncovered), in a two-hour testimony revealed to the court that they lost their virginity in the attack.

They made the claims while testifying as prosecuting witnesses during the trial of Ogunbowale, over alleged robbery and rape. In his Facebook post, Ogunbowale had attended Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta before coming to LASU in 2017.


Led in evidence by Mrs. O.A Bajulaiye-Bishi, the prosecuting counsel, the students, who were roommates, told the court that they were 200 level students when the alleged rape and robbery occurred on April 18, 2018.

The witnesses told the court that at around 3a.m., a torch was flashed into their apartment, awakening them suddenly and five men, including Ogunbowale, who were armed with a gun and machetes, forced themselves in.

Student A (name withheld), 23, told the court “they took three phones, a gold chain, earpiece, power bank and N1, 200. Three of the men left, leaving the defendant and one other person who I cannot identify.

“The defendant told the other guy ‘I want to sleep with these girls’. The defendant went to the toilet with my roommate while the second man tried to rape me.

“The second man could not penetrate me because I had an asthmatic attack and the second man left me to swap places with the defendant.

“The defendant came and had sex with me while I had the asthmatic attack and my roommate was screaming and pleading for him to leave me alone and he said in pidgin English ‘if she wan die, make she die’.

“The other three men came back into the apartment and saw the chaos. They told the two other men that this was not what they came here to do and they assisted in looking for my inhaler. My inhaler was found and they all left my apartment.”

Student A told the court that they lodged a report at the Ojo Barracks and they were referred to the Mirabel Center for medical examination and counselling.

“The case was transferred to the Festac Police Station, then to the Ikeja Police Station. When the defendant was apprehended and brought to the Ikeja Police Station, he was shocked when he saw us there.

“He went on his knees and said to us in Yoruba ‘Alhaja please’,” Student A said.

While being cross-examined by Mr Bisi Salau, the defence counsel, Student A said that she recognised Ogunbowale as her assailant because she had seen him a number of times on campus.

She noted that the residence where the alleged crime occurred belonged to her aunt.

“I was a virgin until the day that incident occurred, I cannot remember the exact date I went to the Mirabel Center. When I reported the incident at the Ojo Barracks, they called to inform the Vice-Chancellor of LASU about it.

“The five men who came to our apartment were armed with a gun and the defendant was the one who carried the gun, he touched me with the gun.

“The defendant has a group of friends in my class and his friend sent me a friendship request on Facebook.

“When I looked through his friends list, I saw the defendant’s photograph which I gave to the campus Department of State Security (DSS) official.

“I saw the defendant on campus and alerted the campus security. He was apprehended in September 2018,” Student A said.

Student B (name withheld),20, while giving her testimony narrated how Ogunbowale allegedly raped her.

“The defendant took me to the toilet and pointed a gun at my head, that day I was still a virgin and it was difficult for him to penetrate into me. He said to me ‘you never do am before.’

“He took me to a chair and raped me and the second man left my roommate and exchanged places with him and raped me as well.

“After we had reported the incident to authorities, we were examined and counselled. We had to go there over a long period of time but we had to cut that short because of our exams.

“We could not even take some of our medication because of our school examination,” she said.

The alleged culprit Ogunbowale pleaded not guilty during his arraignment for five-counts of robbery and rape.

The case was adjourned till Nov. 25 for further hearing.

There is this single mum living just beside our house (She is single because she left her husband, accused him of not being faithful and not taking care of the family, They are not officially divorced.)

Now, she has 3 daughters only, 2 very little girls about 5 and 6 years that has been given out as maids and another girl of about 15 years and she and her daughter due to hardship is squatting with another family, living in their house for free.

One day as i was looking out from our house, I noticed some rowdy movement inside the squatters room. Then after a while, the introverted girl rushed out of the house Tensed ( Very Afraid). I asked her Ogini! but she never replied. After a while, the landlord of the house came out of her room claiming to be angry and making phone call.



I later called the girl and asked her, she first denied that she is being abused but later agreed and also told me that she had been raped by him b4 then she pleaded with me that I shouldn't tell anyone.

I talked to her mom about it and she started shouting at her daughter that she has warned her severally to always lock herself up whenever she is out selling food (which she does for a living). She made the victim guilty. I stopped her but she continued by saying that the house they are living is their only hope and anything that will make them chased out of their will not be accepted. He warned me to keep shut and stay out of her family business,That i shouldn't involve the police or the man's wife or street youth. She insisted that doing such will ruin their life in the city. Even the victim also begged me to keep it down

I wanted to go to church to report to his pastor but on second thought, pastor will invite the man and question him and this will bounce back on the victims family.

If you were in my shoes, what will you do as i don't want to hurt the victims family the more?

No matter the circumstance they find themselves, an abuse is a dastardly act and must be condemned in its entirety. Its better to be reported now than left till it will not be under control and enormous damage done both physically and mentally to the would be victim

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, has faulted Edward Ijah, the sidekick of popular musician, Davido, for handcuffing and parading the two women who accused Davido of impregnating one of them.

Davido’s hype man, known as Special Spesh, had posted a video on Instagram showing the two women, Helen and Susan, handcuffed and sitting on a chair in a living room.

Spesh could be heard telling one of the ladies to lift up her head or get a slap in the face.


He subsequently told them they were in trouble for “deformation (sic) of character.”

Davido also posted a smiley in the comment section, laughing over the treatment meted out to the women.

Speaking with The PUNCH on Tuesday, however, the police spokesman said it was wrong of Davido and his team to take the law into their own hands.

Elkana said a citizen has the right to arrest another person and hand over to the police immediately.

He said no citizen had the right to parade another citizen.

Elkana noted that a popular rich man, Onye Eze, was arrested earlier in the year for arresting a popular blogger, Blessing Okoro, who had taken photos of his house, claiming ownership of the property.

The police spokesman said, “Even if someone defamed your character, you are to hand over the person to the police immediately but to parade them is wrong. The person being paraded has the right to sue. Private citizens have no right to parade another person.


“Not all policemen even have the power to parade suspects.

“You cannot be a judge in your own case. If he feels aggrieved, he should lodge a complaint and not go to effect an arrest. He cannot conclude the guilt of another person. There must be an investigation and only a court can pronounce them guilty.”

The two women had last week accused Davido of being responsible for impregnating one of them and the report went viral on social media.

Davido subsequently offered N1m to anyone who could fish out the girls.

They were subsequently arrested on Tuesday and paraded by the musician’s sidekick.

The Appeal Court sitting in Enugu has declared Honourable Obinna Chidoka as the duly elected House of Representatives member representing Idemili North and Idemili South federal constituency.

The court sacked All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)'s candidate Ibezi Ifeanyichukwu, who was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after the February 23 National Assembly election in the state.

In its ruling, the court ordered INEC to issue a Certificate of Return to Chidoka and withdraw that of the APGA candidate.

HEAVY downpour on Monday morning in Koton-Karfi, Kogi local government council of Kogi State aided the escaped of about 228 prisoners from the medium federal prison after collapsed of some part of tye building while many houses were submerged by the  flood.

It was reliably gathered that the rain started at about 2 am on Monday which created havock leading to the destruction of some part the prison building which gave way for the inmates to escaped. Some of the people who spoke with our reporter said the rain was very heavy and it fell for several hours.



However effort to speak with Prison officers who visited the scene proved abortive as every where was flooded but source close to the Prison service disclosed that about 228 of the inmates who escaped only 100 have been rearrested by the security agents saying the Deputy Controller General of Correct Service Ahmed Jafaru had visited the place saying government will put everything in place to re-arreat some inmate who are still at large.

COZA senior pastor and founder, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo first accuser, Ese Walter who first publicly accused of sexual abuse in 2013, has disclosed on social media that she recently attended Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) .

The Yoga instructor  said that she disguised and attended the church where her sexual relationship with the COZA founder began. Giving her reasons,  Ese said  attended COZA to gauge how far she has come in her healing and also to have an experience in the church building she contributed her one year NYSC allowance for.

Disguised of course  (Spy my wig and shades.) I even sat close to the stage and observed the entertainment up close.

Why did I go to COZA?

Two reasons.

The first one was to gauge how far I had come in my healing.

It was the last Sunday before I left for India. I was going to share the photos then but a lot was going on with COZA leader that I didn’t want to throw myself in the middle of all that.

I knew India was going to mark a huge transformation for me and I thought about the one thing I didn’t know how I felt about and how I might conquer it.

COZA came to mind.

For years I had convinced myself that I was at war with COZA and as my healing progressed I realised that story didn’t hold water so I came up with a plan to go attend service there and see what comes up for me. A friend agreed to follow me in case things didn’t go as I planned

I was pretty amused with the whole being there and sitting in the big ass auditorium looking how far it had grown since its Metro plaza and Dome days. I didn’t recognise one face in the choir though a few protocol members looked familiar.

I also found that I wasn’t angry, hurt or any of the other feelings I had dragged on myself for years. I was very entertained too. It made sense why I was drawn to the church back in the day. I have to admit the founder knew what his focus was when he opened “shop” in Abuja. Sitting there made me realise I had moved past many of the things I thought I hadn’t moved past. It made sense why I wasn’t interested in investing my energy in the recent dragging of its owner. Like I said in story 1, this Ese hardly recognises the Ese of 2013.

The second reason I went was, when COZA was still at Metro plaza, I contributed my one year NYSC allowee to the church-building project. I invested in that building. Do you know what it means to give all your allowee as a corper? It didn’t make sense that I had not seen the building I contributed my 12 months allowee to. Spiritually, I own some part of the building and it made sense to experience it at least once.

Just as the message was ending, I left with my friend and he took these photos of me outside. That was sometime in August and I am glad I didn’t share the photos then.

When I left for India after this experiment, I knew I was going there free from any beef or bad belle for any human or institution. Truth is, the beef must have ended a long time ago but I didn’t realise this because I was following a narrative that Ese hated COZA, or pastors or even Christians. I don’t hate anybody. Hate is too much energy and I’d be damned if I allow anybody or anything determine how I show up in the world and who I beef. It will pain me to beef anyone or anything because that will mean giving my power away. If there is something I have learned about mind control, it is, you decide how you RESPOND to EVERY situation.

If there is anything I have to say to the owner of coza and even coza in general, it is THANK YOU.

If I didn’t lose my faith, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to explore life on the level I am exploring it now. My biggest freedom has been the freedom from religion and it’s shackles. Boobbabies are lucky they won’t have to go through that programming.

What going to COZA proved to me is, we can choose how we want to show up in the world, we can choose what we let limit us and how we use our painful experiences to empower ourselves.

I left India a deeper person than the one that went there. I looked my former wounds in the face and thanked them for showing up. So when I say I can lead you through your pain and to your healing, I am speaking experientially not because of something I learned in a book.

I am powerful beyond measure.

When I think of myself these days, I see myself on the level of the character Jesus, Buddha and some mystics of India. I am no simpleton and maybe this is why my “troubles” have been life altering.

Activist Deji Adeyanju clashed with operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission where he submitted a petition to investigate former Lagos state, Tinubu over the bullion vans that were sighted at his residence on the eve of the presidential election.

In a video clip going viral on social media, the policemen had ordered his team to step out of the premises while he was about granting an interview to journalists.

Deji fumed at the order insisting that he would never understand them because when they are supposed to be in Lagos to arrest big criminals, they are busy harassing and intimidating ordinary citizens without guns and running after yahoo boys.

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the forfeiture of three landed properties belonging to Kola Aluko, an ally of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission gave the value of the landed properties located in Abuja and Lagos as $73m and N350m.

The EFCC gave the names of the properties as Plot 3389 and Plot 3390, House 2, Margaret Thatcher Close, Asokoro Cadastral Zone, Abuja; as well as Avenue Towers, Plot 1391 Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos
the properties were reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.

Following an ex parte application on Tuesday, Justice Mohammed Liman ordered the properties temporarily forfeited to the Federal Government.

EFCC lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo, had told the judge that Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act No. 14 2016 empowered the court to make such a forfeiture order
The properties sought to be attached are reasonably suspected to be proceeds of an unlawful diversion from the Federal Government of Nigeria.

“That the respondent’s known and provable lawful income is far less than the properties sought to be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria,” the lawyer said in the application.

An operative of the EFCC, Sambo Mayana, said the anti-graft agency investigated Aluko after receiving from Mr Debo Adeniran, the Executive Chairman of the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, “a damning intelligence report and a petition alleging fraud, lack of transparency and unethical conduct in the transfer of production rights in the oil mining leases against the respondent and his cronies
That there are suspicious financial transactions involving the 1st respondent, KAA and Atlantic Energy Holding Limited based in the British Virgin Island.
That the company, in the course of three years, received large suspicious transfers from two sister companies, namely: Atlantic Energy Drilling Concept Limited and Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited, based in Nigeria.”

After granting the forfeiture order, the judge directed the EFCC to publish it in a national newspaper.
He adjourned till November 12, 2019, for anyone interested in the properties to appear before him to show cause why they should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.

IgbereTV reports that the Lagos State government is planning to launch the first of several planned intra-city lines by the end of 2020. This is due to the frequent traffic congestion experienced on lagos roads, which leads to loss of time and productivity.

The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday hinted the plan while speaking at a forum on “Public Private Innovation for Sustainable Cities” organised by the Embassy of France in Lagos, stressing that the state was pushing ahead with the work on the Lagos Metro Rail service to make it happen.

Represented at the occasion by his Deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, he said that, transportation was critical to the success of any urban area and that with its limited land mass, the future of Lagos lay primarily in viable alternative to overdependence on road transportation.

He said: “For this reason, our focus for the medium and long term is water and rail transportation. Fortunately, we have a sizeable mass of water, the Lagos lagoon running across the state. We are ramping up the rollout of public water transport service, while also encouraging the private sector to invest in the sector,” he said.



Also, he said, “As the Chief Executive of one of the fastest growing cities in the world, planning and envisioning the future of this sprawling mass of people occupies a significant portion of my waking moment. It is indeed what I was elected to do. Lagos is an important city for many reasons. It is an economic magnet, not just for Nigerians from across the country but even across all of Africa. It accounts for roughly a fifth of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product and by itself the GDP of Lagos is larger than that of all but six or seven African countries.”

The French Ambassador to Nigeria, Jerome in his opening remark, spoke of an Africa-France Summit tagged, “La cite des solutions” a trade fair for project leaders across sectors private and public alike, to debate collectively about the future of cities and how to make them habitable, sustainable and proffer solutions and action plans to combat challenges of climate change demographic growth and urbanisation.
