Ransomware: Brother man, I don't doubt you. Lagos had stuff but if I turn around and say that Abia state has tarred roads, GSM, and all sorts of stuff before it is made the capital of Nigeria, will that not be the same thing you just said now?
Let's not pretend that the IGR generated by 3rd mainland bridge alone since it was built is not enough to turn a smaller state to a competing economy. That is the power of Federal presence. Now I am not saying that there are no hard-working individuals there but regardless of your hard work, you cannot built a modern society by iindividual effort The point remains Lagos was made the capital of Nigeria because it was already a commercial center. That's the hard truth. It was already a wealthy city generating millions of dollars. Federal presents or not, Lagos was already developed built by the SWners and British long before it became capital of Nigeria. |

Ransomware: player,
I am going to ask you a question and I want you to honestly answer this question Can you ever think back to a time you met an Igbo person, not online and they said to you, "we developed Lagos" I mean one on one, Have you ever heard that? the internet is an echo chamber that fuels chaos. Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, is yoruba land. the reason why everyone flocks there is that for many years, that was the capital of Nigeria and the federal funds built it and created an environment for business. If the Nigeria capital is moved to Abia State and the same level of funds was pumped into Abia state, it will create the same environment that will bring development.
Let us not come on the internet and fight like we are not all suffering in Nigeria. I have never seen a situation where a Yoruba man want to buy from an Igbo man and they both refused to transact business because of their tribes. let us slow down with all these harsh words and accusations. while we fight amongst ourselves, the loot us dry Wake up. Lagos already had street lights, railway, tram, telephone, banks, port, bridges, well paved roads, thriving economy etc before the entity Nigeria was formed. Another thing. Lagos is different from Lagos state. The capital of Nigeria was Lagos not the whole Lagos state. From Jibowu down to Ilupeju to Ikeja, Ikorodu, Epe, Badagry were all developed under the Western government of Nigeria. |

Politics › Re: The Federal Government Should Build A New Commercial Capital For Nigeria by forgiveness: 3:03pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
kettykin: I believe the raging storm in the blogosphere about the status of Lagos state whose officials are everyday begging the federal govenment to give lagos a special status can be sorted through the following ways.
1. The Creation of a New commericial capital for Nigeria by the federal Governement, which i propose to be Cross river state or Kogi state because of the large expanse of cheap and good land for industrilaization this will be followed with a deep sea port , linked with Rail ways to the other railway hubs.
2. The total divestment of all those (igbos) who regard lagos as no man's land is imperative, the divestment will include the sale of fixed assets like landed property , movement of non fixed assets to the New Commercial capital of Nigeria.
3. The movement of all Federal Government agencies like NNPC, NPA, NMA, NIMASA ,FAAN .CBN , NRC , NIPOST , NITEL left over to the New commercial capital of Nigeria and the relocation of the federal staff manning the offices to the New Commercial capital of Nigeria.
4. The Auctioning of Federal buildings and investments in Lagos and divestment to the New Commercial Capital of Nigeria. Federal Secretariat, National Theatre, National stadium surulere, Nation Museum and Monuments and other numerous federal owned buildings etc
5. The building of an International Airport relocation of High commissions, consulate offices to the New Commercial Capital. Lagos became the capital of Nigeria because it was already a commercial center long before the entity Nigeria was formed. That was since 1890s when it had tram, street lights, bridges, well paved roads, electricity, banks, train, telephone etc. |

Imo airport was built by the state ...
Yorubaa must start developing their regions...I 2ws at Molote and Bodija in Ibadan trust me ,Ibadan is backwards when placed with Enugu the same regional capital
How many flights land in Ibadan daily Where did you see Anambra airport in my comment? Odua refurbished Owerrri and Enugu to standard. Fact. Ibadan is far more developed than Enugu. Fact. |
