zebrawebs: As the 2023 general elections draw closer, there are concerns in some quarters as to the seriousness of the South-West geo-political zone to vie for the presidential ticket.
Less than two years to the 2023 general elections, there are still concerns in certain quarters on the health challenges of the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Tinubu.
Reacting to the development, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Jimoh Adewunmi Babafemi has said that the South-West geo-political zone may shift their support to a former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in 2023.
According to him, “Kalu is more prepared to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 judging by his acceptability.”

This comment is irrelevant and baseless. Totally off tangent and you are doing it not out of a clear passion to debate a point. You are doing this out of a clear irrelevant bias. This I find disturbing. I just wanted you to know your tiki taka style of play has limits and has not made teams that adopted it the most successful in the world. |

Barcelona might not be as successful as Real Madrid but they have done fantastically well.
Note that I am not saying copy Barcelona because they are successful but because I believe the style will suit us. So are you saying we should follow Real Madrid because their style will suit us?
Now you, break down the style of Real Madrid that you want us to follow. So, we should just play tiki taka even if we don’t win trophies. Why was tiki taka invented if it was not for success? |

TheGoodJoe: Keep it simple - The Philosophy of Xavi in a nutshell.
"I think he follows the same philosophy as Guardiola," Al Sadd's Guilherme Torres told ESPN. "Having possession and enjoying the game, but not just having possession. Sometimes you see teams with 80% possession, but only one shot on goal.
"[Xavi] likes to be aggressive, fight for the ball, play in the opponent's half and play with intelligence. He likes it when players are happy on the pitch -- I think the same way he was [as a player]. He likes to put a lot of pressure on opponents in their half. That's how he understands football."
I am seeing people throwing names from Moldovia to Uzbekistan. Some names I can't pronounce as choice candidate to coach Super Eagles.
Look at the above philosophy. That is exactly the way I believe we will excel as a team.
We need a coach who understands and can put that template to work. So all these names can't guarantee that
Amunike understands and has played the template. That makes him best to do it.
Also we need to keep in mind that we need thorough scouting home and abroad to find gems that will improve the team.
Amunike has the history of spotting fantastic talents and this is another reason why he should get the job.
If you Kazakhstan and Estonia coaches can not fit in the above, it is a waste of time and money signing them. Why is Barcelona not the most successful club in the world with their tiki taka? Since, Real Madrid is the most successful club in the world, suffice to say we can adopt their philosophy through Mutui Adepoju that passed through their academy. What do you think about it? |

Abuja has more development because it was built from scratch. Yet still lacking a lot when compared to so many cities in modern times.
Anything else mentioned out of the above two is not an honest opinion. What is lacking in Abuja? Skyscrapers? |

Is been over 50 years and they are not much better than they were in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Who told you not much have developed in Lagos, Ikeja, Lekki, Abuja, P/H, Ibadan after the war? horsepower102: No need to mention specific cities. They are abundant for you to verify for yourself. Just look at any city that wasn’t destroyed during the civil war and see if much progress has been made.
Then we can compare them to their mates in other parts of the world and you will realize the level of underdevelopment I am talking about. Most of the cities not destroyed by the war are still far more developed than the cities destroyed by the war. |

The truth was that Westerhof was able to look and search.
The Gems are always there. That was when our league was good and it attracted the best players in the country. No hidden gem will want to play in Nplf. |

zuchyblink: There is something about home based players. Did you know that the most successful national teams in the world features more home based players than foreign based? The number of home based players that have won international laurels out-numbers foreign based players. Successful national teams like Germany,Italy, Brazil and Egypt achieved greatness with more of home based players. Npfl should try and improve our league. Do you know why super falcons are no longer what they used be? Because they don't play at home again so there is no cohesion I do agree with you but with the way the Nplf is now, they can’t win a spoon. Our teams in NPFL are struggling to win CAF competitions recently. How can they win World Cup? The league should be improved and the only way is to privatize the football clubs with the states having minority shares. |

It is impossible and illogical.
Some players are quality but lack the right technical guide and system to show themselves. Such kind of player will look poor if not given the right opportunity.
Some players just need a room to show their talent.
At the end, the search can't stop because hidden gems are always there. Can you mention one hidden gem in our league? |

TheGoodJoe: Read and get the point. Run a program to develop them. If they were ready, there would be no need for development. So not ready yet.
The point is continuous development to find gems. When Westerhof invited Amokachi, he was not ready. He was a 16 years old boy and turned a footballing tyrant in a few years from then.
When Oliseh first came to the National team, Stephen Keshi had to do a lot of schooling on him to meet up to play for the National team. He later turned a Super Eagles legend. Then, Nigerian league was good. |
