@taharqa Well done, bro. I think you've got a good head on your shoulders. It is exciting to know that there are still youths who devote as much energy that others devote to 'Up Chelse/Up Man-u' to REAL ISSUES. Your positions seem to have been thoroughly researched and carefully taken, with commitment to just one thing- Nigeria...a country that has probably offered your generation so little. Good job!! |
^You should know that Power Minister has always said that there is no need for any state of emergency in power because Power generation, transmission and distribution should be a carefully planned process, with end to end solution breadth powered by strong political will will and ultimately some time for the projects (majority of which are EPC) to mature. Actually, i remember his saying when he took over that talking about state of emergency in power should be the first indication to a literate society that the leadership does not understand the problem or the solution to power challenge. That was how the 'politically sexy' word of state of emergency in power died down. Actually, that was when i knew that the guy seem to know what he is up againstand the result we are getting today is not very surprising. |
GEJ will definitely have my vote come 2015. Because things will only get better. We have hit the bottom and are only experiencing a positive climb of the curve. |
People are so daft that they really believe that the President security details could ever find its way to news stand. If not to inspire North-South hatred, why this senseless conjecture by Daily Trust? And people really believe that even a Governor's security apparatus is transparent to anybody without the necessary security level clearance? SMH for people... |
^^well, they don't fire ministers from NL or from ACN/CPC media war room. |
Nope! NOI does not owe any answer as to the visible impact of the project. She does not head Federal Project Management Team but the finance ministry. The monies were released to MDAs and it is the role of the host communities, you and me and even the Legislators (in the course of their real oversight functions) to demand that they see the implementation details. Ministry of Works might have gotten some money to do a job, has he used the money? If yes, why are contractors abandoning sites of grounds of lack of funds? If no, where is the money now? This is what Gbaja...etc should be demanding. While i believe that Nigeria is arranged to confuse anybody that seek genuine answer to the above question the more, i feel that the legislators should be thinking about setting up a cross platform Programs Management Office that will house independent, verifiable data on status of ALL Federal projects. But then again, some folks will still cry 'lean government'. Nigerians are really difficult to satisfy. |
I know someone that left GTC Awka some 15 years ago. I have also worked with lead technicians who were once students of Nigeria techinical education board and that was their highest certificate. What makes what Fashola has done 'first'. I think some people don't just travel beyond their village. |
touchdmusic: na wa o, if person na liar den dts wat he or she shud be called n tagged.these pple defending her are the reason my hrt bleeds for d younger generation of this country. Why in d world do we have so many pple in 9ja that find it hard to stand up to injustice and keep @ it!If you actually belong to the younger generation, then you are the problem with that generation. That you feel that somebody else is wrong does not make you right in an information age. What lie has she ever told. Present empirical, verifiable facts not your feelings. That you don't want to pay higher for fuel does not make total deregulation of petroleum industry a bad policy and that you feel that budget performance is 2% is not enough to make the case in this age and time. Present facts, not feelings. That is how 21st century youths think. |
Joel.:Imagine the kind of mentality you are displaying in public forum. You command thunder? SMH @Poster First and foremost, i advice you to read up policy documents of PHCN reform which was enabled by a 2005 act. Most of you guys think that Nigeria is a jungle. |
Ok. Nobody convicted Gbaja._(*) of any crime but Alhaji Tukur was indicted? Smart dude... |
Some critics seem just to be comfortable with things going worse, not better. They express deep hurt at any news of improving society and the energy that they will launch to tell you that it is not real or it is not sustainable is so strong that you start feeling that this whole criticism thing is not about getting us all a better society. Here are folks telling somebody not to use the improvements he has observed in his environment to judge the government efforts but they are comfortable using the perceived lack of the same thing IN THEIR PROXIMITY to judge the administration. No! this is not about getting us a better society, it is about validating some inner conviction that things can never be better!!! But the bad news is that it does not affect reality at all!!! |
I keep wondering, between a politician and a professional economist with about 25years experience in developmental economics at World Bank level, with an Ivy league PhD, who do you believe their figure about Economic indices? As much as Soludo is a Professor of Econometrics, i will look again at his figures against NOI's. If not for some emotional reasons, how can somebody accept a political spokesman figures in this kind of sensitive area against that of the custodian of the figure? It is baffling... but it fits the cause perfectly to shoot holes through everything this administration does. As Obama will put it in 2008, "if you have no records to run on, you make up your opponent as someone people should run from" We are watching... |
Is this not the same guy building air conditioned pedestrian bridge? |
And now again, @Gbawe chooses to believe Zakari Mohammed against NOI on economic indices... But to a sane mind, who is in better position to provide economic perfermance statistics? House of Reps spokesman or Minister of Finance? I am not surprised, in an attempt to 'oppose' government, people have believed Boko Haram's testimony against that of the security chiefs. Why? Because it makes them feel better and more in conformity with their cause. |
Please people, trials are not conducted on the pages of the newspaper or on internet fora. It is done in the law courts. i quarrel with the caption of this threat. It should real- Alleged Fuel Subsidy Fraudsters Granted Bail. That is the price we have to pay for accepting democracy, jettisoning all traces of jungle justice as is being practiced in this thread. |
^ How so? |
I guess @Porka's questions are clear, straight and simple. Direct, honest answers to them will give us a real insight into the identity of the man that moved a motion for the impeachment of the president. I think the more this kind of revelation comes out of the House, the more OBJ's stance that the house is full of thieves and robbers is justified. I move that Mr Gbaja or Gbajambia whatever be consigned to the same corner as Farouk. They make OBJ look like a god. |
@icon8 I don't get the reason for your outburst but even the article talked about the CoO being issued to her NGO -Women whatever. I don't understand you, really. Please, show your wisdom by criticizing my input intelligently. You don't need to insult me in an online, anonymous forum to appear smart! |
'Smart' Nigerians as always. From all i can get from this report, any first Lady comes in with her own NGO which may be good, but the problem is that they maintain ownership of the NGO after leavin office. The personalities apart, the right thing is for our 'hardworking' opposition lawmakers to push a legislation that makes all NGOs formed by ALL sitting first ladies to be a property of Nigerians. But will they? They rather prefer to impeach the president because of delayed release of funds for constituency projects. If this is done, all these wastages will stop. In my opinion, neither Turai nor Patience should have any right to ANY NGO they formed while they are first ladies! But as smart as NLers are, GEJ and Patience are the problem!!! |
To really get the real reason for this complaint against Global West, can somebody kindly furnish us with the coy has handled Navy and NIMASA consulting and procurement contracts over the last 20 years. This information may just reveal that we are looking at a comprehensive list of govt 'critics' and their sponsors. |
^Please, go and read up on the official position of the Church on liberation Theology. Tunde has since lost it. The day he ran for political office with a man he has earlier discredited was the day his basic christian credentials was subjected to questions. He showed he can compromise like others. This guy has many false 'prophesies' in his profile, and some of them even predicted somebody's death. Yet, none of them sued him for whatever. If GEJ should sue Sahara whatever, some of you will say that he is muzzling the press, but a man that was a step away from thesame office had he won the elections can do same and be praised by 'objective' NLers. I tire oh! |
And this thread proves once again that Beaf got it right about Subsidy scheme, Farouk Lawan and Tambuwal right from April. No? |
...and thesame Daily Trust told us that Petroleum Equalization Fund has been scrapped in the new PIB bill. Now, PIB is about DAM. SMH. |
Would Fashola had 'arrested' Soyinka or Tinubu or even Bisi Akande for driving on BRT lane? |
?? ?? |
I think this man's critics are just doing him a big favor in that they will so lower expectation built with 2011 election that even if he eventually rates average by 2014(though i am sure he will deliver excellently), average unbiased Nigerians who have formally based their judgements of the man on the 'retardeen fury' chorus and have lost hope will treat him not only as a super hero, but also as a victim. I guess thats why his party is not borthered. |
@OP You keep fantasizing about what you and BH co-travellers hope to achieve. |
^Why not just cover your face in shame and shut up. You guys quoted somebody to discredit the govt and the man has come out to deny that. Instead of condemning such act, you continued along thesame line. You people should develop some sense of honor!! |
Have you noticed that the rabid GEJ hater only peep in, call others fools for presenting factual and documented points of views and bolt out before being pinned down with a questions that will make them defend their POV. And that is my problem with them, in Nigeria today, especially if you are anywhere in the SW, if you want to sound intelligent, just call GEJ names. You don't even have to say anything else. Unfortunately for them, some of us know better. They are just scared that GEJ will succeed, and you know what? He WILL!! |
If recalling a thieving 'Hon. Member' of the house of reps is GEJ's project, how is that bad? |
@Ojigho All you have to do is to prove the listed achievements of GEJ after 1 year in office wron and stop firing blank and sounding incoherent. Just present your facts that contradict your the position presented by @OP. I have always held that attack of GEJ presidency is driven more by malice and fear that the guy may just succeed. Hate GEJ all you want but you can't take away the fact that he is doing what we have failed to do over the years. I pray he succeeds. GEJ will eventually prove to be the stone that was rejected by the builders (owners of Nigeria) that eventually become the connerstone. This is what the establishment is so scared of and they have formed an unholy alliance with ACN and CPC, with the later positioning itself to make political gains from GEJ govt failure but they will all be dissapointed!! |
