Horlamidei:
I posted the below bolded stuff a week back

Got a regret mail from MUN yesterday after applying for graduate studies.

CGPA: 2.65
Degree: Bachelor in Civil Engineering

Please guys, I have an uncle who's a Canadian citizen and my mum in Canada temporary who has been making efforts and willing to help me get to Canada but through studies.

Please guys, what advice can you give me, please
..

You guys gave me advice to apply for colleges since my GP is low.
I contacted my Canadian uncle about it, he said it will be more easy for me to get permanent stay if I apply and finish in a Canadian University but he doubts or doesn't know if it will be easy for me to get permanent stay through a college!

Please advice please..
Hi Horlamidei,

I strongly doubt your uncle's assertions. Be well informed that so long as you graduated from a designated learning institution in Canada whether university or College, you're absolutely qualified to apply for PGWP which is a pathway to your Permanent residency.

Frankrobben, the Gentleman and Revolutionary!!! We indeed exchanged stupendous knowledge over the years. I certainly thank God for your life. We went, we saw and we conquered for good and humanity. In life, the greatest acts of goodwill and benevolence are not necessary reaped by the doers, but by others. I stay confident though that God will visit us in his own timing. I stay committed to the process and engaged and will come from time to time to dole out nuggets of wisdom learnt in the real world. It has been a privilege.

Your humble Attorney firing brimstone and fire from the mountains of Plateau.
"Wise are thy words, attorney," A wise saying indeed! You speak with true inspiration, and bringeth to my mind a new assimilation.

As for time, all men have their own time and clock in abundance. Our purpose is wise and our ambition honourable.

Soft-heartedly, hoping someday the Almighty would recognize our worthy deeds and confer upon us outstanding success. Thanks for the kind words and elite wishes. I look forward to seeing more of you on this window.

Thank you so very much @Frankrobbn1. Pls what could be a receipt for me to issue to the buyer that will be recognized or accepted by CIC since I have am the one selling and I do not have a normal receipt. I was given a note when I bought from the family.

Any receipt can serve so long as it's in your family name. Following that you don't have a receipt yet, a land deed of agreement b/w you and the buyer and survey plans will do.

Yes, they are strong ties to your application. When you eventually secure your TRV you can apply for SOWP for your hubby and TRV for your kids.

The land sales agreement, receipts and survey plans are sufficient documents to show proof of ownership.

Greetings House!!!
My Maternal uncle want to sponsor me for a 1 year certificate program on Global business management in Canada. I applied for admission and i got one last two weeks. My uncle owns a business which he registered. A friend suggested that he should act as my employer by paying me around 200 thousand naira every month with his business name. He has paid for two months now and am waiting for him to pay upto four months before i proceed with the visa process because according to what i ve read on this platform that i must provide my own four months statement of account. But am not convinced with the plan because i finished my nysc since 2016, and am also aware that i must explain to my VO through my SOP what i have been doing with my time for the past three years. But the truth of all these is that i am currently working but my earning is 45 thousand. Am CONFUSED here because i dont want to make mistake. If i write it down on my SOP that i resigned from my previous work before my uncle employed me few months ago will it be wise or should i just use my current work to apply for the visa then convince the VO in my SOP that my uncle decided to train me because he wants me to be part of his business. PLEASE SOMEONE SHOULD ASSIST ME ON THIS.
HAPPY VAL
lummy11:
Your uncle paying 200 thousand monthly might not be necessary
Make you can show proof of relationship and he also makes financial commitments by paying up your tuition and sending your living cost which is 10k CAD into your account and ensure you give detailed explanation of the transactions when writing your sop.
When I applied i didn’t submit my statement of account, even though i was working.I submitted only my sponsors statement of account and everything worked out fine.
To add to what lummy11 has said.

I prefer you go with the bolded and back it up with evidence namely,
1. Reference letter from employer,
2. pay stubs,
3. Work ID,
4. Resume and
6. salary bank statement (if any)

I'm applying for study permit alone. With intention of applying for my husband and daughter after I get MY tRV/study visa.
In filling the form, there is a place where it's asked.
Are you going with your family?
Am I to tick yes or is it no? since I'm applying alone for now.
Please help, I don't want to make a mistake and I'm gathering information.
The answer should be NO as you're currently not traveling with them.

I have never met a matured reply like @jnyuwa02 , Instead of coming for me, he slowed down and pacified my frustration, he automatically sent me on therapy, changed me from the original perspective.

@frankrobbn1 won't even reply me, i was always looking for his trouble, ... na Visa we dey find, why everybody come serious like this?

Rejection came , I went berserk, stopped reading the entire page, then when i opened it after after 2 weeks i saw a guy who came to give his testimony, he submitted and application with 1m balance mistakenly, and he was meant to have like 20Mil to apply, he got his visa.

I applied again the next day.

The issue now is there is nothing much in my account. Just an average of about 50k. Can my sponsor (mum) send about 1m into my account. Will it not raise a red flag_lump sum?
Or should she just give me a letter of sponsorship and retain her money. She also has some monies in fixed deposit.
I will appreciate ur insight sir
Your mom should retain the money in her account and present a letter of sponsorship stating that she is aware of the scholarship that was granted to you by the university in Canada (quote the amount of funding) and for this reason, she will be responsible for your flight itinerary fees to and fro and other miscellaneous expenses that might be incurred by you during your study in Canada. She should include her bank statements and the fixed deposit statement too.

Yes, you need to provide additional proof of financial support aside the funding that was awarded to you for your studies in Canada. You can possibly include a personal bank statement that will cover your flight itinerary to and fro and other miscellaneous expenses.

Good evening bro. I must really commend you for your relentless effort in responding to all comments here. you're doing a great job!
pls,I only have one question which is considered to be very vital in my decision of studying in Canada.
pls I will like to ask, do you think I need to present proof/evidence of finance at Nigeria embassy even after getting a Graduate Assistant job for my Msc in Canada? This question is important pls.,
My apologies for responding late.

Yes, you need to provide additional proof of financial support aside the Graduate Assistant job that was awarded to you for your studies in Canada. With that said, I would suggest you get a sponsor (father, mother, brother, sister, uncle or aunt) to finance your flight itinerary to and fro, and other expenses that may arise during your stay in Canada. The objective of having a sponsor is to prove to the Visa officer that your family members are well off and established in Nigeria and you will not be a burden to the Canadian government.

teejay2018:
Hello Everyone.
Following the tradition of the house, I would like to share my TRV story hoping it will bless someone.

Sorry for the long post. And sorry I've not done this sooner.

First, All thanks to the Almighty God who began and also completed the good work. To him be glory alone. The "I did this" "I did that" you'll be seeing in this post is simply Him and no one else.

In 2016, I started looking into Canada against Fall 2017, I reached out to so many research supervisors. In the end, only 2 responded; one from Waterloo and the other from Ryerson. (But before then, I found a Nigerian in Usask who was lecturing there at that time, so I reached out to him, He accepted me with open arms and started mentoring me through mails on Canada's academic system and how to write research interest, how to contact supervisor, the choice of words and how to follow up. He told me to always make friends with the Program secretaries because they have high clearances more than i think, cos sometimes, they might be part of the quorum that forms the admission commitee).

On the long run, both of them showed interest in my research and said they were willing to supervise me, so I submitted application. After 24 minutes skype interview with the Waterloo supervisor, she said she will make sure to do her part to see to my admission, but apparently the schools had other plans. In few weeks, both schools turned down my application after weeks of hectic research and writing statement of interests. I really spent so much money on making calls to Canada then. From their secretaries to supervisors, to the Directors of both programs, I kept sending mails, but when i realized it was taking time to get responses through mails, i will call them. I was trying to find out what went wrong with my applications. They eventually let me in on the school's policy of not admitting international students when the school or the research supervisor cannot demonstrate a reasonable level of funding for them. They also said my cGPAs were not really high/competitive. BSc (3.75) MSc (Mphil/PhD).

Back to square one, between 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 application, i reached out to over 80 supervisors from different universities (according to my email "sent" folder) in Canada; 4 were willing- 3 thesis and 1 project option (as last resort). Ryerson gave me admission for the thesis (same supervisor said she's still interested in my research but I had to include it in my statement of interest that i can fund myself) while Dalhousie for the project option. Other 2 schools, no admission.

TRV started June 18th, nothing till October. then the moniker Lotusboi shared his TRV approval story and how his application was held back in New Zealand through Gcms note. i contacted him, he kindly walked me through ordering for gcms notes(Nov 16). Fall admission passed, i deferred to January with updated LOA (Nov 13th). After 6 days of ordering for gcms note, medical request dropped, Lotusboi also walked me through that, I did medicals the next day by God's grace, medicals passed(Nov 28th) and like Lotusboi, whose application was approved the same morning he passed his medicals, i began to wait for approval on Nov 28th (longest day in November). December going, nothing, I applied for another gcms note (Dec 28th), gcms came in Jan 28th.

Sleekysoft story dropped on Nairaland, He wrote appraisal mentioning Frankrobben, I kukuma contacted them both (lol), they both checked my gcms notes and kept firing me up with words of encouragement. Admission deadline had passed (January 11), the school said i will have to reapply. Applied against Fall 2019. I sent webform to IRCC using this link
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx (on Feb 4) just to get update on my application.
PPR dropped Feb 5th. Awaiting passport collection.

DOCS SUBMITTED

-I was also privileged to get a 7k CAD stipend from program director after complaining to my supervisor (thanks to God for her) that my funds might not be enough, so she spoke to him on my behalf to drop something. The woman really tried for letter . I attached the letter of support addressed to me from the program director (explaining i will be given 7k CDN for payment for 2 TA positions, but detailing that the funds will be given whether i get the TA positions or not).
-CIC documents
-BSc and MSc cert and transcripts. Int. passport,
-Employment, Confirmation, Introduction letters from work
-Letter of Intent (SOP)(2 Pages)
-Resume
-Siblings birth cert and IDs

-Father's SOA- 6 months (of Personal business; opening-208k, closing-9M, but good inflow/outflow)
-Father's House plan.
-Land properties (just survey plans and agreement)
My SOA (opening-83k; closing-110k, fixed deposit-450k)

NOTE: Forgot to add Police report and one other document(a Letter of Support from an Engineering Firm that agreed to release their resources to pilot-scale the findings of my research when I return as I explained in my SOP- I forgot to add it)

This my app is simply God's mercy and nothing else.

I"m sorry for the long post, just hope it encourages someone.
What an impactful and inspiring story! CONGRATULATIONS once again teejay2018, I am happy to be in the context of your TRV approval.

Good afternoon house, please this is my status online.... Does it mean the VO has commence on my application or not yet.
Your application is undergoing a background check. The visa officer is matching the information you provided with their records, if you previously committed a crime, refused a visa, ordered to leave a country and if you are a threat to their security or on a wanted watch list and also confirming the authenticity of the bank statement you submitted with your application.

Be hopeful! It shall end in praises.

Hello NoniPeter,

Be guided that payment of tuition fees prior to visa application is not a prerequisite for a visa approval. Therefore, you're only expected to pay the required $200 as instructed by the school to secure your seat for the accepted term. Also, I would strongly advice that you show adequate proof of relationship with your uncle. By including documents such as : Uncle's birth certificate, international passport bio data page, marriage certificate of your mother and possibly a family tree. Furthermore, A cogent reason must suffice to why he is sponsoring you at this level and what he stands to gain as a result of this sponsorship.

My mom is my sponsor but the issue here is it's a joint account
Where I and my mom are both signatory to the account
Or should I include that we are both sponsoring the account
However I am not running the business with my mom she only added me to the account because of times she might not be around to carry out her business activity
Hope this won't affect my application
@frankrobbn
It won't hurt your application. As a matter of fact, it helps alot in addressing your ties to Nigeria and funds accessibility by you (the principal applicant). Clearly indicate in your SOP that you and mother are the signatory to the joint account. For this reason, adequate funds will be available at your disposal during your stay in Canada. Preferably, affix a reference letter from the bank to support your claims.

Okay, I didn't get the info anywhere..i felt him letting know CIC about a bro he has that will house him isn't good cos it might cost the bro his stay maybe forced to come back or something..these white people follow rules well..besides no need to include such letters of having som1 that will house him, it's not necessary.. all u need is get your visa. Cic doesn't bother if u have a place to stay..
It will cost no pain to his brother's immigration status over there and wouldn't be ordered to leave Canada for this insubstantial reason. Every visa officers has their own preferences and set out procedures of issuing visas, some applicants included this cover letter in their application and was approved. While others did too and were rejected based on family ties in Canada. That said, any applicant that intend including a cover letter from a sibling in Canada stating that he/she will accommodated during their stay in Canada, should also work more on providing significant ties to their home country that will motivate their departure after studies.
