@Frankrobbn1
*URGENT* I need to turn in my application today.
My dad transferred to me 50% of required funds. My sister in the US has been sending funds monthly to my dorm account which accounts for 25% of required funds. I would be getting letter of support from my dad and I will also state it in my SOP that I got gift deed from him. Do I need to do same for my sister? Or should I say I'm rendering a service to my sister and she is paying me. Or should I just be silent about it?

Do I also need to write anywhere that I have a sibling in Canada, US or the declaration on the family information on the IMM form is sufficient?

Thanks for your speedy response.

Gbogbo wa la ma je breakfast.
The 25% funds from your sister must be explained with adequate proof. You shouldn't be silent about it as the immigration officer will have the impression that you borrowed the money from her in order to facilitate your study visa application. Your sister should tender a letter of support stating that she transferred the said amount into your account in support of your studies in Canada. Also include the transaction records as reference.

The family information form IMM5645E should have the details of your siblings resident abroad namely: their addresses, current employment status, full names etc.

Thank you so much for the reply @frankrobbn1
God bless you abundantly.

My last child will be 4 by October, so I'm not sure I can get a visitor's visa for her.

I will check out schools for global business management. Can I also do a course in marketing?
Thank you again
You can decide to leave her behind since she is not a toddler. However, should you want to go with her she will apply for a visitor's visa as she is not up to the age of five (5).

There are several schools offering Global Business Management program. I can share you a few which are; Conestoga College, Fanshawe College, Centennial College etc. A marketing program would not be an appropriate course for your background.

Please
For someone who had created express entry profile but withdrew it twice
In the section that said “have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada” should the person click Yes and indicate express entry pool but withdrew application ?

Thank you
The answer to this question is "NO", since the person only had an active EE profile but never received an ITA to submit a proper permanent residency application.

Yes you are right

It is really dependent on the officer or airline and they change it all the time. Today they ask for enrollment.. tomorrow they don't. It can be really confusing.

Meanwhile at the port of entry a coursemate said she was only asked to prove that she had been attending classes in the previous semester. All she did was show assignment group chats on WhatsApp

I had to call CBSA to ask alot of questions but its like the Nigerian end is getting mixed instructions.

So if you are travelling just prepare well and hope to meet a considerate officer at the Nigerian end kus thats where the work seems to be now

I ended up signing up for spring term because really its just 4 to 6 wks ..After the term I can rest and miss this back and forth.

Studying online with 7hr time difference was an experience.. I dont want to experience again abeg.
Thanks for providing validation to my post. I wish you success in Canada.

Thanks Frank but I am still not clear on the applicant name change because I did not change anything. Are you saying its not something I should be worried about? Or I should ask my agent if he name any correction in my name after submitting my application? I am clear on the eligibilitypart, thanks.
As earlier advised, the name change is standard as seen on other prospective applicants gcms notes. It's nothing to worry about.

Thank you for replying, I have no payslips or any of the like to prove I actually play a part in the day to day running of the company, or I don't need those as a director? The business is still currently operating though so I can still look for a way to obtain the needed documents(if I'm pointed in their direction) Thanks very much for your time
The immigration will not require your paystubs if you're being sponsored by your parents. You need a work reference letter and a study leave approval letter in order to substantiate your employment with the company.

Hi Everyone,

I want to ask if it is advisable to send a LOE and additional documents (Employment letter, salary accounts, Landed property e.t.c)via Web form if application is already stating eligibility under review and also states no additional document required. Thanks
Any reason for sending additional documents to them? If you did included these documents with your application, there is no need resending it to the immigration.

Well said boss. I was only trying to add that he might not be allowed to fly without a confirmation of enrollment. I am not sure one can enroll
without tuition payment. I was only trying to use that scenario to add that confirmation of enrollment is a vital document for boarding from Nigeria. I was not in anyway countering your view boss.
I'm very meticulous and always think conscientiously before advising anyone on this platform as many of my suggestions are been put to good use by a large number of people here including passive readers. More importantly, I know quite a number of persons who boarded their flight from Murtala Muhammed International Airport and never declared a "Confirmation of Enrollment letter". I will have to say that it boils down to the airline or immigration officer whom the traveller met at the airport. Also, it might be a requirement for students that have commenced their studies online.

Good morning everyone, I'm new here and I have been reading through the thread. I'm honestly overwhelmed with the amount of information here.

Please I graduated with a third class (2.4 CGPA) in accounting and I want to go for a graduate diploma course in Canada.
I worked for about 7yrs and later resigned to register a business which I have been running for about 6yrs
I'm married with 3kids and I will like to travel with my husband and kids.

My Dad has landed properties and stocks. I'm thinking of selling some of the stocks to raise funds

Please what are my chances of getting a student visa? Should I sponsor myself or get a sponsor?

Should I apply alone first and later apply for my husband and kids or can we all apply at once.

Please @frankrobbn1 and other gurus kindly help me know my chances.

I will really want to boost my qualification as I'm not happy with my third class certificate. I'm also thinking of writing a professional exam CIMA

Thank you as I anticipate replies
Welcome to thread, I hope you will find your stay here very exciting and rewarding and ultimately share your success story.

Given that you have a third class degree, you should opt for a PGD program that is directly relevant with your current employment status (business). Having said that, a Post Graduate Certificate program in Global Business Management would be your best choice to demonstrate career advancement.

My simple and honest opinion is that you should apply alone and leave your family (spouse and kids) behind. However, if you've a toddler let's say 1 to 2 year old baby, you can apply for a visitors visa for her to accompany you to Canada whilst the rest stay behind. Upon the successful assessment of your application and your arrival in Canada, you can file for a SOWP and Visitor's/open study permit for them to join you in Canada.

To summarize this piece of advice, you should either be Self-sponsored or your husband be the sponsor of your application.

I hope this information is detailed and sufficient to your enquiry.

My friend did this and was not allowed to board the flight from Lagos. She completed her second semester exam in April and decided to travel to Canada in May in preparation for her 3rd semester in September. With every confirmation she presented at the check-in counter she was not allowed to travel. The lady insisted she MUST bring evidence of being registered for the 3rd semester before she can be checked in.
The advice I gave to the op is different from your friend's case. The immigration officer your friend met at Murtala Muhammed International Airport needed her to show proof of her enrollment which is by means of providing her "Confirmation of Enrollment" letter and tuition payments from the Institution, since she has already completed 1 full academic year in Nigeria. This is completely not in-line with what I originally advised.

Ps: For clarity sake, this is the op's situation;
The op's case is that he intends to change a DLI upon arrival in Canada and haven't started any online program. He was asking whether he should pay tuition upfront to the former school before embarking on his trip to Canada, which I categorically advised against. I don't believe that there is a connection for his situation with that of your friend's case.

I finally got my GCMS notes. This was the mail sent to me " Hello, your application is still in progress and has not reached a stage where the visa officer can update notes regarding the final decision of your application. You can still check the last 4 pages for any status updates. You can order another report in couple of weeks to see the final decision." (I applied in september)

On the notes my eligibility says "recommended interview " while the last comment from the vo was:"Name on application changed" then they wrote old values and new values, all are my names except that the one of old values omitted the hyphen in my surname while the new value had the correct name. Eg. (Old value: John Chris, Michael and new value: john-chris Michael). The new value is the correct one. Please what do they all mean? Upfront medical i submitted on the 13th of April is not capture, medical is still blank.
The information present on your GCMS notes is standard with other prospective applicants seeking to study/relocate to Canada. As for the "Recommend Interview", kindly read through my detailed explanation relating to this issue on your eligibility assessment.

Thank you vry much for your response.
Should i apply for a post graduate diploma and later change to the AEC diploma as it has a pgwp attached to it? .
To increase your chances of getting a Canadian study permit, a post graduate diploma will be of paramount benefit to your case. After the successful outcome (approval) of your application, you may switch to a AEC diploma within Canada and inform IRCC via your MyCIC account with details and proof of your enrollment in the AEC diploma program.

Secondly is do I need to write a letter of sponsorship after getting affidavit of sponsorship

I would appreciate your help
Thanks
Regardless of the affidavit of sponsorship, you need a sponsorship letter to demonstrate the sponsor's willingness to finance your studies in Canada.

A sponsorship letter should typically contain the following information:

1-) Introduction of sponsor
2-) Description of relationship of Applicant with the sponsor
3-) Reason of sponsorship
4-) Amount of sponsorship funds and length of sponsorship
5-) Source of sponsorship funds
6-) Where the funds are currently held
7-) Your sponsor expectations as a result of sponsorship
8-) Contact information and how your sponsor can be reached

@Frankrobbn1

Please I’ll need some clarity on this,

My brother is my sponsor and he transferred from his personal account my living expenses and remaining school fees to my personal account. I would be submitting his salary account( it is a micro finance bank hence doesn’t issue Mybankstatement) as he doesn’t leave liquid cash in his personal account
The money he transferred was from sales of 2 of his landed properties, I have purchase receipt for this.

My question here is if asked for Mybankstatement, do I submit my personal account Mybankstatement and my sponsors 1year salary bank statement ( with a letter stating that his bank does not issue Mybankstatement)

I would appreciate your help
Thanks
The immigration will surely request you to provide Mybankstatement Certificate in a matter of days/weeks after the submission of your application. In view of the fact that your sponsor's bank is a Microfinance which doesn't issue Mybankstatement certificate to her customers, you should advise the immigration authorities in writing about this, include his (sponsor) 1 year Bank statement to show history as well as your personal statement.

I hope this information satisfies your enquiry

Good day house, Please I want to apply for a diploma in nursing in a college in Canada. I just graduated from secondary school and I'm 17 years old. What are the chances of getting a Canadian student visa?
P.S: I don't have a travel history
Going for a diploma in nursing program in Canada at the age of 17 years is good. To better your chances of approval, your parents should be your sponsor not a third party. Be properly informed that not having a previous travel history does not in any way affect the credibility of your immigration application to Canada.

I finished with 2.2 .My parents have a business which they listed me as one of the directors but I don't know if that counts
Being listed as one of the directors in your family's business will count as a positive report than the former (inventory officer). Looking at your profile, I will advise you say that you've been working in your parents company and you're travelling to Canada to gain top-notch business education in order to expand the family's business. By so doing, you don't need to mention the inventory officer as your current employment.

Do as I have adviced and thank me later.

Sorry to draw your attention back Mr Frank. Does it mean getting a financial gift deed from a sponsor or co-sponsor isn't reasonable?
I ask because a sum of 10 mil was gifted to me by the person I used as a consponsor, though he is not related to me but has shown enough financial commitment towards me and my studies from way back, after father's death(was a close friend of father). I did a gift deed to that regard and I used him as a co-sponsor in my sop(though I am self sponsored since the money in my account plus the one he gifted me will be enough for my studies).
From my vast experiences, I don't believe it sound reasonable to the visa officer should an applicant use a deed of gift for someone who has already declared interest to sponsor their education in Canada. In most cases, applicants only include a gift deed for someone who is not standing as a guarantor and the deed was primarily prepared out of love and affection the person has towards the academic and career growth of the applicant. Given that he is your co-sponsor, he could have transferred the money into your account and clearly state same in his co-sponsorhip letter to buttress his financial reliability. Nonetheless, different strokes for different folks. You might be the first person to have used this financial strategy for the visa officer's. Since you've already submitted your file to the immigration, you should be positive.

Hello,

I'm about to apply for study visa to high school for my younger sister, can my mum use her business account as proof of fund NB: she doesn't pay tax;

Also, can a relative in the diaspora act as the only sponsor?
Your mum can sponsor her education in Canada with a business account. However, she needs to provide a reference letter from the bank confirming that she is the sole signatory to her account.

A close relative (siblings preferably) resident abroad can act as a co-sponsor to her application.

I will suggest you stick to computer science if you finished with a 2.1. The three (3) years experience as an inventory officer is not a justifiable ground for you to opt for an MBA. More importantly, do you've a registered business?

A deed of gift from sponsor? That doesn't sound logical in the immigration terms. He should rather state it on his letter of sponsorship and affidavit of support that he has transferred a certain amount to demonstrate his financial capability of sponsoring your studies in Canada.

This is absolutely the best way to prove to the immigration authorities that you will have complete assess to funds during the course of your studies. Apart from him paying your tuition fee and transferring funds to your account, you should include relevant documents to show that you're closely related.
