Jaylap: Please apart from study leave letter from my current employer, what else can I use to tackle this refusal? Thank you all. You shouldn't only rely on the study leave approval letter. A good and very persuasive SOP would help your case. In your SOP/LOE you're expected to explain in detail the lucrativeness, reasonableness, and career benefits of the program upon your return to Nigeria whether it's financially rewarding that can offest the cost and investment made in the program in Canada. The range of career options available for you and the high employment prospects as well as the huge demand for professionals in your career field etc... |

DannyJ7717: Frankrobbn1.. Thanks boss for the swift response.. I appreciate.
Please, do you have an idea on how I can go about getting a fully funded scholarship and a supervisor in any of the Canadian universities?
Thanks Sorry for the late reply. @DannyJ7717, I think the answer to Q-1 also applies to you. As per the list of Canadian universities offering Msc in Biotechnology, you can extend your research to University of Windsor, Brock University, Queen's University, McGill University, etc.. Megatronn: Quick one please! Frankrobbn1
I have not gotten admissions yet, not even applied to any school but i am looking at MUN if i must say. I am still serving (NYSC) in Abuja and will be done in November. I graduated with a 2:1 in computer science from ESPAM FORMATION UNIVERSITY in Benin Republic. Now my questions: 1- How do i apply to get admissions with funding (full/partial) in MUN for Msc in computer science?
2- Can i sponsor myself with money won from sport betting?
3- If the answer to 2 is yes, how do i convince the VO since it's a lump amount in my account?
Have more questions, but these first. Thanks y'all Hi Q1) To secure a partial/full funded scholarship from MUN, you have to search through the university offical website and be able to secure a supervisor in your department/area of speciality who will accept you to work under his/her laboratory. You have to send across a research proposal detailing your research interest, some of your academic achievements, grades during your undergraduate, awards, and publications relevant to your proposed research area as well as why you feel you're qualified to be accepted in the lab and confirming if there is available space in the lab for the term you plan to begin your studies in the university. Q2) You can't sponsor yourself with funds gotten from a sport betting because it's not a steady source of wealth. If you plan to do so, I would advise you include a co-sponsor to your application, preferably an immediate family member which include parents, siblings, uncle or aunt. In your SOP you shouldn't declare that the funds in your account was gotten from a sport betting as this would be a red flag to your application, you can claim the funds were gotten from a sold property or business. With that being said, documents to ascertain your claims must be included with your application. |

You predicted what could be in my GCMS note and we filed documents to tackle them all, that by the time the real GCMS note came, i felt like i wasted money to have requested for it. God will not leave any stone unturned in your life bro!
To all TRV hopefuls, Yours can never be difficult for God to do. Yours too is on the way.

mzjokky16: O God have mercy on me, my application is not even 5% close to this tightness, i dont have family picture, no fathers cac, no deed of anything from dad, no letter of being a partner in my daddy business just SOA of 36 million naira, i dont even know the inflow and outflow gan self, i only submitted his 1 acre land purchase that he is using for his farming business cry. someone's child got 38k funding and i only got 8k funding from MUN and im there shaking yanch up and down, no reference letter from supervisor, olouwa snu funmi o. well, i have confidence that it will surely end in praise. im getting my approval this month since it seems don dey drop approval alert. Congratulations dear, park your load o, left to me, i will be in canada already by this Sunday. lol You should never compare timelines and profiles when it comes to immigration process. An immigration application is a complex one, with many variables. No two applicants are the same, even if they may have the same date of birth, similar profiles, and may come from similar countries. Since you have filed your application, you must be aware that there are many questions to be asked on the application, which then has to be supported by documents. This is what makes each application unique, and so does the processing of such applications. With so many variables, when you compare your application profile with another applicant, you are comparing apples to oranges. Please remember, immigration is law, and, no two cases are ever the same. The uniqueness of each application does not stop here, the processing and evaluation of each application are done by humans (the visa officer's), who have their own unique personality and way of analysing. Even though each immigration officer is obligated to follow the law as stipulated in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Regulations, and the manuals, by their speed, way they analyse, and their drive, are factors, which again add more variables. In conclusion, we have encountered a great number of applicants who secured their Visas with few documentation. Hence, you shouldn't bother nor worry about Dera12345's application to yours. Hang on, Your testimony is close by. I hope this little piece stands to motivate you. All the best |

DannyJ7717: How can I go about applying for MSc in Canada?
I studied Biochemistry and graduated with a first class honours, CGPA 4.75...
I will appreciate your response?? You've got a good CGPA and you should be looking out for schools in Canada that will offer you full-funded scholarship for your intended program MSc in Biotechnology. I would suggest you start now by searching for potential Supervisor's in any of the reputable Canada's DLI that would be willing to accept you to work under his/her laboratory for the fall term 2020 and also gurantee you a graduate/research assistanship. |

olalemii: @Frankrobbn1 your comment means a lot to me I really appreciate ...
Well, He is my paternal uncle, his reason for sponsoring me was because; "I have been a responsible and serious minded individual and it would be something of joy to him to see me excel". His children are all above 18 so his wife is his only dependent
The only ish here is he hasn’t sponsored me prior to this moment i hope that won’t pose any issue, lastly will 8m suffice since he has paid my living expenses already
Thanks in anticipation of your Comment His current financial commitment (10KCAD) which he deposited into your account adequately substantiate that he is willingly and eager to finance your stay. Hence, the previous history of financial support won't pose to be a problem with your application. Additionally, he(uncle) should clearly state that he has no dependents aside from his wife, that's the more reason he is investing in your academic pursuit. The 8M should be perfectly enough to cover for your tuition since you already have your living expenses at your disposal. Lest I forget, work on ties to Nigeria that can motivate your return home after studies as this is among the criterions that determines your admissiblity to Canada during the visa officer's assessment. |

sillysassysally: Hi Everyone,
I want to start by sincerely apologizing for going MIA since I got here. Life happened so fast and it didn't help that I didn't have a laptop. I have only just started settling down after all the hassle.
Landing gist... It was pretty straightforward and didn't take time. The only question I remember the border official asking me was which school I was going to and what program. Then, of course, I was asked to show my correspondence letter and CAQ.
Canada... I am currently attending McGill University so I'm quite comfortable speaking about Montreal. 1. French everywhere! I was so surprised - even my youtube ads changed to french! Better to start learning french to optimize your experience but if you don't speak French, it's still fine because most people are bilingual. 2. Beautiful city... people say its the best city to jaiye in Canada because things are always happening! I think last week was about Real Madrid (they are in Canada for a tour), then the week before that was jazz festival week... Needless to say, its a really fun city!
Myths people have about Canada 1. People tend to believe that once they leave Naija, they'll begin to live their best lives... It's not really true - especially if you don't have money. Since I got here, I've actually battled depression because my school work is so tedious, i don't even think I'll be able to work part-time to cover my living expenses. If you are doing a one-year program, it's possible that your schedule would be as rigorous because for most masters in Canada, its usually two years so you can imagine the "rushing" they do for one-year programs. So with no time to work, and with steady expenses, you can imagine the stress I've been going through just merely thinking about my situation. Here's my advice to those planning to come to Canada, if you cannot afford living expenses and you plan to work part-time to cover your living costs, please do a two-year program. That way, you'll have more time to spare to work and it'll be reasonable for you to work and still have enough time to commit to your academics. 2. Taxes here in Montreal are a freaking 15%! I bought my laptop and paid taxes of $114! Needless to say, buy your laptop before coming.
Things i'm grateful i did before coming here 1. I'm grateful I packed garri, indomie, etc because when you come here, expenses and bills would hit you like a hurricane - especially in the first few weeks where you have to start paying for a phone plan, rent, bus pass, feeding, etc. Im grateful for the many things i didn't have to buy because i already brought them from Nigeria - I even carried toothpaste, cream, perfume, etc. Once you come here, you'll have a lot of expenses to make that you'd be super grateful if you already have some little things sorted out.
I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has for me.
Goodluck to all TRV hopefuls, University admission hopefuls and GRE/GMAT hopefuls Happy to have you here once again my spy . Your absence from this thread for couple of months was highly felt by the members of this thread. Thanks for sharing those insightful information. It was very helpful! I believe in due time you will settle very well and make Monteral your new home. I wish you the best! |

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.
Sincerely, IRCC Nairobi High Commission of Canada to Kenya www.cic.gc.ca I regret to hear your study visa application was rejected and you're yet to receive your passport back after two weeks a decision was reached on your application. I would suggest you send a CSE to the Kenya, Nairobi Immigration office reporting this issue and requesting that they should expedite the transmission of your passport. The subject of the mail should bear URGENT, along side your FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH. Attached is the email address for your reference: nrobi-immigration@international.gc.caAlso do this using the webform so as to receive a speedy response: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=NairobiFirst and foremost before you think of reapplying, I would strongly advise that you should apply for a direct master's program that is reasonable in light with your previous studies and current activity. This will solve the issue of purpose of Visit in your next application. Current employment Situation can be as a result of inadequate document to proof your current job role in the company where you presently work. Thus, a reference letter detailing your job start date, job responsibilities and duties, pay stubs for the past 4-6 months, employment ID, a comprehensive resume history of your past employment, salary bank statement (if any) showing inflow and outflow of salaries into your account. With regards to personal assets and financial status - include your parents landed property documents or your personal landed documents, bonds, investments in the bank and personal salary statement (if any). |

olalemii: Hello Gurus
I’m on the verge of submitting my Application, i would like you guys to help criticise and suggest where necessary..
No travel history, No study Gap
Bsc Electronic and Computer engineering, Got admitted into Meng Electrical and Computer Engineering, NYSC was completed June 2019, I’m 23
Finance
Going to Uwindsor in Jan,2020 and my Tuition is 27,500 CAD. My Uncle in the US is my sponsor, I identified he has paid my Confirmation deposit of 4000 CAD and He also transferred living expenses of 10000 CAD to my Dom acct. In my letter of introduction of sponsor I highlighted he would be Supporting me with 4 million Naira every year for my Tuition and Living expenses (it’s a 16 months program tho) . His acct shows balance of 20m + , nolump sum
Do you guys think i can go ahead with this ? I think your profile is perfect! However, considering that you're using a third party Sponsorship (uncle) as primary proof of funds, you will have to establish strong proof of relationship with him before putting in your application for a study permit. Documents like, mother's attestation of birth showing that she once shared the same family name before she got married to your father, your uncle's US international passport bio data page and tax documents, a well detailed and analyzed family tree in your SOP showing her your uncle and mother is related right from their immediate parents down to your generation. It would also help if you can include evidence of past or history of ongoing financial support from uncle, which can be proof of undergraduate tuition receipts, or bank transfers. Furthermore, uncle should clearly state in his letter of Sponsorship the reason for sponsoring your Canadian education, what he stands to gain as a result of this Sponsorship and must certify the visa officer that sponsoring your education abroad won't pose to be a burden to his family, business or personal welfare. Documents evidencing his income like employment letters/business documents should be suffice. Lastly, uncle should increase his annual commitment, as the stated 4M is not adequate enough to cover for your subsequent year of study bearing in mind that living expenses is 10KCAD. I wish you the very best |

Juleskiki: Long Post Alert.... Wow, I crafted this testimony a long time ago to inspire someone. My admission process was not an easy one, but when it was time God showed up. I applied to 2 schools late last year against fall 2019. By March 2019 they both sent me a refusal letter. I felt really bad, after the whole struggle of getting a supervisor and all. So I started looking for another supervisor, luckily one got back to me and after the interview and all. He offered me a spot in his lab. And in less than 3 weeks I was admitted with full funding.

Am sorry I am asking on the study permit thread but I feel I ll get a quicker response here. Thanks. Please I need the email address of the office too. Thank you. Majority of Visitors Visas Applications are processed at London Immigration office. You can contact them via this email - LDNIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca |

Obehi44: House, the refusal came again 2nd time. First time was personal assets and financial status but now they say it's "purpose of visit" Yesterday I mentioned a few monikers that got this bvl same time as mine came in, today I can see two out of those monikers coming to say they have been refused this evening just as I got mine this evening too. All same reason "purpose of visit" I can almost conclude that it was same VO that dished was in charged. Him just de bomb people email and Cic account with same reasons. If these people have limits of people they give visa to per a period, they should just say rather than letting us go through stress and keep paying application fee. Anyway, I will other for the gcms again, defer admission and refire again. @Franck please my dear, can I have a one on one? Just want to ask one question please. Thanks. Sorry about the outcome of your application. You can reach out to me via my signature and I will be happy to assist. |
