CheesyTee: Thank you for taking your time to respond.
I was hoping you did something differently to get a job as I’ve been relentlessly applying for jobs. No luck.
Perhaps, you were an I lad when you got your offer. Just wondering. I am an outland Applicant from Nigeria and I haven't travelled to Canada before. I used the approved list of the Altantic Immigration Pilot designated employers and began to search for the company's information on the internet. I secured my job offer through the company's LinkedIn page where I saw the advert. I sent them a copy of my resume and cover letter. Luckily I was accepted and they scheduled me for an interview, of which I emerged successful and was granted a job offer and the employer promised to help me in filing my permanent residency Application. |

Hanna007: I will advise you have your ECA and ielts ready before you apply for jobs, so that once you have a job and its endorsed, nothing 'll keep you from applying to ircc. Inspite of all these, you can apply for a work permit once you get your endorsed job while ircc processes your application.
I'm considering nova Scotia, my ECA is still in process. Let's contribute to this, how many of u 're interested in this program and how far have you gone?
I will post list of designated employer for each province, note that most jobs are not advertised, you will have to go to their sites and check their career page. Also, when applying for jobs, always include a cover letter and state your intent in it I.e if they can sponsor you through AIPP. Apply for as many jobs as you can, but it should be in your field or what you do. Nice job you're doing here. I will be here from time to time to assist others achieve theirs. |

All you need is to secure a supervisor that is willingly to accept you to work under his/her laboratory and gurantee to fund your studies. More so, the prestigious MasterCard scholarship is currently open and are accepting applications from prospective applicants seeking for scholarships to further their education in Canada. The scholarship is worth 280kCAD for McGill and 108kCAD for UBC. Since you're in search of scholarship, you may also spread your options there. |

Use your passport details - Issuance date and expiration date instead of Place of Birth when linking your application online. Thanks gurus Why will you apply to a school that doesn't have a DLI which automatically is ineligible to host international students? I know very well that theological schools in Canada do have a DLI. At this point you can't link your application online considering that your school doesn't have any. # I dint include my personal account # I dint include my marriage certificate though I stated I am married Urielbam: Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. After careful review of your student permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.
Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.
Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada
+ Having gone through your profile and the list of supporting documents. First, I can deduce that there wasn't adequate proof of relationship between your distant uncle and you (Principal Applicant). What were his reasons for sponsoring your studies in Canada and what does he stands to gain as a result of this Sponsorship at the completion of your studies. I believe you will be wondering why you're refused based on Insufficient funds to cover for your tuition, living expenses and transportation to Canada when you included a fat bank statement of (800,000)k Euros. This is because you didn't establish strong proof of relationship with your distant sponsor in Dublin and for this reason the visa officer is in doubt/ not convinced enough that you will have full access to the funds in your Sponsor's company/personal account. Secondly, what is the lucrativeness and the benefits of your proposed study in M.Ed(educational leadership study) upon your return to nigeria? Is there any demand for graduates from this program in Nigeria. How did you link your past studies and intended program in your SOP. All of these must be backed up with justifiable reasons to why you want to incur such a huge cost for a program that can be attained in Nigeria at a cheaper rate which will be benefical/reduce cost for your third party sponsor without having to travel abroad. Thirdly, what are your ties to Nigeria that can compel your return back home after studies. Do your parents own landed properties, fixed deposits and investments in banks that you will be returning back to look after upon your studies? Do you've any job here in Nigeria that you will be coming back to resume work? Do you've any property in your name. Since you indicated that you're married, why didn't you include a marriage certificate to further buttress the fact that you've a home and great responsibility falls on you being the father/husband to your beloved wife and children. Furthermore, explain convincingly in your SOP how your family will be faring while you're away for studies. Does your wife own a business or in gainful employment provide an evidence for this. These are your ties to Nigeria and should considerably substantiate that you will leave Canada immediately after your studies. In your next application, I would suggest you include your personal account owning to the fact that you're married Furthermore, travel history as I always make it known to the honorable members of this platform is not a factual reason for a visa refusal. In an effort not to derial the thread, refer to this link on what you can possibly say as your reason for not having travelled outside of your home country until now : https://www.nairaland.com/5233221/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/238#81441216To crown it all, I'll strongly advise that you construct a good family tree that will show how your distant uncle is related to you either from your mother's side or father's side down to your generation. Uncle should show his eagerness in sponsoring your studies in Canada by paying your tuition and transferring funds into your personal account. This will prove to the visa officer at the canadian embassy that he is a genuine sponsor and will further demonstrate that you've access to the funds presented in your application. Evidence of your Sponsor's current immigration status in Dublin - International Passport bio data pages (resident permit card) and source of wealth should be included along with your next Application. I hope this helps. It shall end in praises. |

Anamekele: Please gurus in the house what is the meaning of ties in Canada. Prospective Applicants who were refused with this point wondered why they should have a family in Canada before being given the visa. Note that the full statement is “family ties in Canada OR family in your home country”. So its either you failed to prove each criterion or both criteria, that is, whether you have family ties in Canada or whether you have family ties to your home country. Therefore, if you have any family member living in Canada, that is also a tie in Canada and might outweigh/weaken that of Nigeria, most especially when you don't have strong holdings here in Nigeria (Properties and Assets) that will motivate your departure. |

As a consequence, I'll advise you include the birth certificate OR international passport bio data page of your siblings as adequate proof to your application. Also, draft a brief letter of explanation which would list the documents you've provided to them. It shall end in praises |

obaxlove: Hello House,
Please what will you advise?
I submitted an online application on the 8th of July, 2019 for Sept 4th entry into a PhD program. I submitted an upfront medical result and since then both eligibility and background has been running concurrently.
I contacted my sch few weeks ago to defer my admission to January which they acknowledged and issued new entry date to me with funding intact.
What do you suggest I do;
1. Should I wait till 8 weeks or Sept 4th and upload the new admission letter.
2. Can I send the new offer letter now?
3. Should I wait for decision before sharing the new offer letter if decision is negative.
Please help. If you refuse not to send the acceptance letter to them. During the active processing of your application, IRCC will notify you via your MyCIC account to provide the offer letter for the winter term 2020 in view of the fact that you can't be able to meet up with the fall session prior to your visa issuance. Therefore, sending the letter across to them at this point in your application still doesn't hurt as the information will be updated/appended on your application. So, any of the two is good and acceptable; |

I have ordered for my GCMS note. Please I want to give testimony here too, you people should kindly help me please. ebby29: Thank you so much Mr Frank, I already shared my details last night sir. The afore-bolded is the main reason for your VISA Rejection!. You already had a degree with a 2.2, you're ought to apply for a degree that is higher than your already completed degree here in Nigeria. This gave the visa officer the impression that you're likely not going to Canada for career advancement but, using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada and wouldn't depart after authorized period of stay. I would suggest you apply for a post graduate diploma/certificate program that is line with your area of study in order to show a logical progression btwn your previous studies and your intended program. The purpose of Visit prompted the rest of the refusal grounds in your application. Tackle the above and prepare a convincing letter of explanation that would demonstrate that your current situation has substantively changed to merit a VISA to study in Canada. Once you're done with the letter, you can contact some of the knowledgeable individuals here to help review and make possible amendments where applicable. In the interim, start searching for a PGD program that is scheduled to commence in January 2020. Schools like fanshawe, Conestoga, Humber, Cambrian College are still open for winter, 2020 Admissions. It shall end in praises. |

Ayoola03: @Austinpee4, nice to hear from you again, longest time bro .
You have said it all but to add to your point and in my own opinion, this visa approval stuff is just by luck it's not a matter of how perfect your application is and another thing I would advise people to.always take note is do not overload your application, screen and remove all unnecessary documents, the more garbage documents you submit, the more time it takes for the VO to verify all your documents (not to talk of when we now know these VOs are impatient to review documents anymore) and also too much documents can raise a red flag when the VO notice any contradictions in some of the documents you have submitted most people dont know this can also lead to refusal. Austinpee can testify to this, in the past, we have so many people that kept their applications simple and tight with all necessary documents and they still got an approval while we that overloaded our application took forever to be approved/many was refused. Some people will include all the academic credentials of their 5 siblings starting from primary school to the highest level attained and other funny documents (I have seen an app like this).
I applied for my study visa in October 2016 against winter 2017 term, when I noticed my app wasn't approved in the last week of December, I contacted my school to defer my admission till summer, I waited till last week of april 2017 still no show from cic, I contacted my school again to defer till fall, around early june 2017, cic requested for a new admission letter in other to proceed with my app, I sent the fall admission letter and after 2 weeks, my app was approved. One of my colleagues who also had same funding package and same supervisor as me got his 1st admission letter 3weeks to resumption for fall term, he applied 2weeks to resumption and his application was approved 4days to the R-day, the guy booked his flight asap. since then, I realized everything is by grace of God. it also depends on the mood of the VO at the point of reviewing your app this is where much prayer comes in. We cant say they have reached their quota for the year, how about people from other countries? The rate at which they approve these people ehn even when their resumption date is close, they will still be approved, most times I doubt if they actually checked their documents.
For everyone still waiting for approval, be optimistic, there is nothing impossible under the sky, it has happened before and it will still happen, your case is different and God hasn't forgotten about you. I wish one day, Nigerian application would be treated with priority like all.other countries, this people even trust ghanaians more than us. More approval coming by his grace
PS: for those that asked me questions in the previous pages and via my email, am highly sorry I haven't responded, please kindly forgive me, i cant intentionally ignore your questions, it hasn't been easy tho but I.promise to respond asap . Austinpee4: @waynee2baba and Frankrobbn1, both of you have very valid points. I just want to add to both views.
While it is always advisable to apply early for study permits due to various reasons one being 'pressure' on the officers to conclude on these applications by applicants as well as meeting their stipulated processing time, it is also not completely detrimental to apply later or close to resumption date especially if one has a very good reason(application) and can convince through with such application. Applications as we all know are processsed all through the year irrespective of the resumption date. Each application are concluded based on it's individual merit and uniqueness.
Also, there are other factors that must be considered too. These applications go through different stages(security, background, eligibility checks etc)and some may completely not be at the discretion or instance of the officer untill maybe the final stage(decision making) considering the numbers of application to be concluded on to meet resumption dates. During these peak periods, the stages may not take or go through a particualr order as it would during the less application period which may lead to an officer not carefully considering all evidenced documentation presented before him/her .
Applications from our part of the world go through rigorous scruitnity to determine essentially 'INTENT'. So rather than considering the academic purposes of these applications alone as it should be, officers largerly would also consider the intent behind these applications hence different factors would be considered. (Age,year of previous study, recent activities, strong home ties etc). All these during the peak periods i would assume may not be well establised by an officer hence you see a very good application refused on a rather ridiculous reason(s).
However, it still isn't enough to say applications during these peak periods stand a high chance to be refused or that the government have reached it's quota for the year. Statistics have shown that Nigeria has about the lowest positive issuance of the study permit all round the year in recent time. This ofcourse are from obvious reasons. We are not even close to our counterparts from Asia and other part of the world who usually would stand better chance.
Having mentioned these, it is highly advisable to apply months before resumption dates. However, this does not guarentee an approval or mean that such application would be delayed or refused. The only thing i feel is that it would give an applicant sufficient time to readdress an issue in a case of a refusal or respond to a correspondence from the processing office.
So yes, both of you have made good points and they are valid. An application is processes and assesed based on it's merit but there is always and 'unknown' extra when Nigerians are involved, more so when there is an influx of applications that sometimes do not even pass the eligibility stage. It becomes difficult to see through the good ones.
Regards guys. Your viewpoints are well appreciated! Thanks for coming through today! Your presence is highly respected |
