CampusCastle: Thank you.
Yes, I'm applying for an undergraduate degree.
Do secondary Schools give academic transcript? I have never heard of it before. I thought it's only tertiary institutions that provide transcripts. I'm guessing that will be hard to get o
Is there any alternative tajmal: Yes, secondary schools give academic transcripts (if you attended a good one) but if it's some public secondary school that aren't well funded, it may be difficult but you can still get it provided they have your files with them As for the alternative, I really don't know of any at the moment benjamina96: Hello. you can as well use your sec sch testimonial in place of the transcript. It's been a while I visited this thread. So, I am reading from where I stopped previously. @ CampusCastle, be properly guided that the secondary school academic transcript the school in Canada is referring to is the online WAEC results print out as well as the scratch card and not the grades you had in classes while you were in highschool. Upon successful review of your documents, the school will request for a copy of your ORIGINAL WAEC certificate to complete your application. Afterwards, you will be granted an admission. Try this and thank me later. |

Obehi44: Okay, that means I should just focus on the reason for refusal and not to mention to this new VO (hopefully a new VO) about any changes in course or school? @Frank @Aaron @Bracha @all What do you guys think. Yes I am going to wait for the GCMS bcoz the reason this time was "purpose of visit" only. @Makano is right. Stick to the reason for the refusal, you don't have to explain the change of course or school in your LOE. |

I kindly need the input of the house on a certain issue: My friend who is a pharmacist got into a Graduate certificate program in Global business management starting in January. What are the chances of getting a visa with this program? Should she fire ahead with the visa process?
Cc frankrobbn1 Is Global business management related to pharmaceutical line? From my point of view, I don't see any logical progression between his intended program and his current employment status as a pharmacist. As a consequence, his application is at risk of being questioned by the visa officer based on his purpose of visit to Canada. |

bukonlami: Hello Good People
Is it advisable or ok to change schools after a Visa refusal if it is going to increase one's chance of approval. There is no problem changing a DLI so long as you're trying to address the concerns raised by the visa officer in your previous application which could be due to program of study or level of education. |

judisco2019: Hello guys,
I just got my refusal letter now.
I applied on June 7th and did biometric on 10th.
Got BVL on 27th and refusal on 28th.
I have OND and HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and I got admission for a one year certificate Program in Truck and Transport Service Technician in NBCC.
The reason why I wanted to do the program is because I have been working as a Logistics personnel for over 9 years. As a logistics person, I was involved with managing fleets and trucks for the distribution of products across the country. Part of the problems we encounter is incessant truck break downs and ending up at the hands of bad truck mechanics. I then choose the program to learn more about truck repairs. I stated all that in my SOP.
The refusal letter I got reads thus:
Dear JUDE CHIBUIKE KANU,
Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds: • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit. You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.
Documents that I submitted: CID Documents Sponsor's statement of account with closing balance of 8million (My sponsor is my friend) We intend to co-own a logistics company on my return My statement of account with closing balance of 5million My Admission Letter My deposit receipt of 500CAD screenshot My SOP My land agreement My pension with balance of 2m My parents and siblings birth cert Police clearance Sponsor international passport and affidavit of sponsorship and Date of birth CV Study Leave from my company Employment Letter from my company Employment confirmation letter Employment recommendation letter from my previous company Affidavit of Return 2 CAC business name registration
I am 30 years old.
My programs starts on September, I want to re-apply but I want the gurus to look at my profile and advice.
I have also ordered for my CGSM Note.
Kindly advice guys. I regret to hear your application was refused. I want to use this medium to quickly point out the main reasons why your study visa application was rejected. First, you're 30 years of age with 9 years study gaps and claimed to have been in gainful employment for over the years and can't show adequate funds for your planned studies in Canada rather you're using a family friend who is not blood related to sponsor your application..... This is a red flag. At this age, the visa officer is looking out for you to be self-sponsored considering your vast work experience. Again, work on your SOP that will state your genuine intention of going to Canada and would return after studies, the lucrativeness of the program in Nigeria upon your return, if it's financially rewarding that can offest the cost and investment made in the program. Etc. Furthermore, include adequate ties that can motivate your return home after studies. Ties can be your immediate family, assets and study leave letter. |

MsJu: I just got informed that my application is being processed in Paris. Abeg any success story from there? MsJu: 9th/10th May. Got medical request on 15th May. This is a great news for the fact that you applied on 9th May and got a medical request 5 days later shows that the Paris Immigration office will be very compassionate in issuing study visas. Last year study permit applications were handled by several Immigration office. First, it was Accra that was in charge of applications and was later moved to London, Dubai, Turkey and Lagos before it finally landed to Kenya until now. Applicants that were refused of their visas by Kenya, I think this would be the best time to utilize this golden opportunity by reapplying for your visas. I wish you the very best in your application. |

95seun: Can anyone please explain how one would be able to explain a church recommendation as ties to ones country ? You can use church membership as proof of ties to your home country. The letter should be written on the church official letter headed paper, signed by the head pastor and should state the following; 1-) Your job position (Maybe.... A YOUTH COORDINATOR) in the church, 2-) The responsibilities and duties you carry out in the church and 3-) And that they will be looking forward to your return after studies to continue playing your role and active participation in selfless service, seminars and meetings etc... It should be a page letter and must be concise and straight to the point. |

Go ahead and pay any deposit and attached it to my application or the money should be transferred to my account or what I need help? Sorry for the late reply bro! Since the school didn't require a tuition deposit, you don't have to pay a dime to them. The funds should be transferred to your account that's if you're using a third party. On the contrary that it's your parents that is sponsoring the funds can be in their account. |

Why follow what people say and doom yourself into secret misery.... I know of countless applicants in Canada who travelled with a 8 months PGD/C program, some of which have graduated and currently in their PGWP e.g Jephehe, hrchris and so many others which are too many for me to count. As a matter of fact, the fastest approval which I have encountered over my 2 years and above existence on this thread in the year 2017 was a PGC/D applicant and was approved within 48hrs by Accra Immigration office. Generally, I figured out that PGC/D applicants applications are processed timely within a month. I would suggest you cross your fingers and hope for a positive outcome on your application. |

What you must know is that there is no perfect application elsewhere without God. This is the moment you should keep your faith alive and trust that everything will work out in your favour. Also, you can utilize your chances by sending across the UPDATED SOP to Kenya visa office so they could append it with your ongoing application. |

wiselong: Good Day All,
Please which address should I use for all the references letters to be used for the student visa application
Can I also get sample of reference letter to be written by the bank because am using FD, Mutual Benefits and RSA
Thank you All letters for your temporary resident visa should be forwarded to this address - Deputy High Commission of Canada, 4 Anifowose Street, Victoria Island, Lagos State, Nigeria. With regards to your next query, this is not express entry that would require a specific format of bank reference letter to be addressed to the embassy. You can use the generic letter given to you by the bank for your study permit and you will be okay. Success! |

Jephehe: A friend of my here in Canada invited his Mom for his graduation ceremony, The mum was in Uk for a short visit because of that she did her biometric in Uk, Visa was approved and passport request, submitted and Stamped in Uk.
If you are in Canada on Visitor Status and you have applied for Study Permit if passport request showed while in Canada you can submit it in Canada.
Another option is when the Visa is Approved you can pick the study permit up in the Land borders.
My wife has change from visitor to Open work permit in Canada land border, I changed my study permit to PGWP in the land border without SOP much documents to convince the Land Border Officers.
Na my case i dey talk oh. Thanks for sharing Mr Jephehe (My right hand man Boss!) |

Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1: 11:27am On Jun 28, 2019 |
jaybaby2017: @ Frankrobbn1, I withdrew my Express Entry Profile because in the GCMS note, the reason given by the VO for refusing the third application was that I have an active express entry profile and therefore the Intent to remain in Canada out-ways my leaving . That was the only reason on the GCMS note. It's very unreasonable of the visa officer at the Canadian embassy to have refused your temporary resident visa on the basis of your active Express Entry profile, in view of the fact that it was clearly stated on IRCC offical website that having dual intents (1 for temporary residence and 1 for permanent residence) is legitimate, and does not preclude the applicant from becoming a temporary resident so long as the applicant can satisfy the visa officer that he/she has significant ties to their home country that will motivate their return home by the end of the period authorized for their stay. With that being said, dual intent on the part of the applicant is therefore not prima facie grounds for refusal of temporary resident status. It's inappropriate that the visa officer's don't practice the subsection 22(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) to the decision-making process. Once again, Congratulations to you and your family. |

Course of study- Cybersecurity Post-graduate studies at Centennial College Ontario Offered admission for Fall Sept 2019 and its a 1-year program i studied Electrical Electronics Engr and graduated with a 4.19 CGPA I currently work as a system software engr
1st student visa application date = March 26th 2019 Biometrics done 28th March 2019 Refused date = 14th May 2019 Refused based on * insufficient funds and not satisfies i hv enoughmoney for tuition fees which is 17,850CAD (i had made an initial deposit payment of 2,300CAD)
* insufficient funds to sustain my living expenses throughout my stay (my personal funds being 3M naira ~ 12,000CAD approx is wat i have in my account and my sponsor who is my immediate elder sister has SOA of 36M naira ~ 130,000CAD)
*insufficient funds to transport myself to and from canada
Reapplication date - 27th May, 2019 Biometrics Validation - 24th June, 2019 2nd Refusal Date - 27th June, 2019
In the reapplication, i addressed the concerns of the above rejection reasons by paying my full tuition fees from my sponsors account and giving them a breakdown of my budget on living expenses which is about 5,000CAD which covers my duration of stay for the program
2nd Refusal reason now is on purpose of visit. That they are not convinced i will return after my program
What do i do?
I intend to reapply immediately since i still have 9 more weeks to my intended date of resumption. Please how do i go about it My brother with this your 4.16 CGPA why keep dashing the Canadian embassy your hard earned money when you can secure a full scholarship with reputable schools like Simon Fraser University and University of Waterloo Don't allow this high CGPA's of yours waste for a Post-graduate studies at Centennial College Ontario. Start now by searching for potential Supervisors who will be accept you to work under their supervision for the spring/fall term 2020. Its better you take your time and package an airtight application than reapplying and getting same feedback (a refusal). Thank me later. |
