KrystalDesign:The processing times includes throughout the 7 days in a week (Monday to Sunday). Applicant's receive PPR and Refusal letters during the weekends. |
rukevweanita:No; you might end up missing the conference meeting. Apply three - four months before the scheduled date. |
crackcrack:At the bolded, that's not the right time to apply for a study permit to canada for a fall term. Though few might be lucky to receive their PPR but majority doesn't turn out well. It's a trend for IRCC. I strongly advise those that were rejected to quickly defer their admission to Winter and start preparing an airtight application that will demonstrate that their present situation has substantively changed to merit a study permit using their SOP and LOE to pin point the previous reasons for refusal. It shall end in praises |
oniwoski:Your sponsor has to show adequate proof of funds for your first year of Studies (tuition and living expenses) without working and no recourse to public funds. By so doing, the visa officer will critically examine your Sponsor's financial capability to finance the subsequent years of your study in Canada. However, assuming you're a self-sponsored applicant, you're expected to have the entire cost of your tuition in your bank account. |
fOFT:Thanks very much @fOFT, I will surely do as you've advised. I really appreciate your kind gesture and best wishes. It shall end in praises for everyone on this thread. We shall all celebrate! |
hannamia007:Yes that's true! In my case it was advertised for close to two months and no inland (Permanent Residence holder/Canadian Citizen to be precise) was able to fill up the position in the organization. Hence the need for foreign employee. |
Dipopo080318:No you don't need to evaluate your credentials. As it's not a requirement for AIPP program. I know of an applicant who applied together with her spouse for PR under AIPP. She was the principal Applicant and her spouse didn't include any evaluated credentials. |
kcosam:Yes boss! Your employer wouldn't have to pay for the compliance fee of $230 if you're going for direct PR. All your employer needs is to sign, fill and date the OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT TO A FOREIGN NATIONAL 5650E FORM as well as the applicant's signature so as to be able to apply for PR. Without this form, you can't be eligible to apply for a PR under the AIPP stream. The compliance fee is refundable only on the account that the applicant Application for Work Permit was rejected. |
Sammieuwa:Here I am o, may I know how I could be of help to you? |
skymint:First of all you will need to find a job and then ask the employer if they are willing to support your PR application through the AIPP or not. Because they will have to do lot of paperwork and disclose some business documents to the government. Small business might not want to do it. Second, if they are willing to do it then the employer will need to apply to be a designated employer ( that's if the employer is not designated yet). There are forms and required documents that have to be filled by employer and submitted to the provincial gov't. If approved, the next step is getting a settlement assesment from an Atlantic immigration officer at the multiculturalism office and filling endorsement application forms. The immigration will refer you to go to a place/portal where you will schedule for an interview with an intake counselor Officer. At the time of the interview, the officer will assess/ask what you need to settle down in the province, for example an accommodation, or plan to enrol for an english course, or air port pick up etc. All these services are totally free. The result of the assessment will need to be signed and submitted along with the endorsement application forms. If approved by provincial govt, the provincial govt will give you endorsement certificate which is valid for 6 months. This endorsement certificate has to be submitted along with your PR application to the Federal level (IRCC). After you have successfully received your endorsement certificate, you are on your own (OYO). I mean, you don't need your employer to do paperwork for you anymore. This part is employee's part and your responsibility to package an airtight Application following the instructions on the Document Checklist!..... AIPP Permanent Residency Application takes 6 months or less in most cases and processed at ACCRA IMMIGRATION OFFICE.Hope it helps ![]() |
Mariesio:Yes designated employers in the Atlantic province must show proof at the time of applying for a provincial endorsement that the company has made effort in recruiting a permanent residence/canadian citizen (locally)within the province to fill up the shortage of labour. With that said, employer must submit proof of newspapers, and magazines where they advertised the job title which made it eligible for the company to recruit a foreign employee. |
femisek:Once you've successfully secured a job offer it's the responsibility of the employer to decide either of two (PR and WP) for the applicant. Assuming the employer needs the applicant urgently in their organization, then they might opt for work permit. As I said earlier, my employer disapprove recruiting Nigerian applicants via work permit route because it takes longer to be finalized and most cases end up in a refusal. So, the decision is dependent upon your employer. Bear in mind for you to be eligible for a work permit, your employer must pay a compliance of 230$CAD for an employee ID which you will be required to fill this number in your work permit application form. |
teechedah:You can use 9ja diploma here. It's acceptable |
Olaneeran:I stated that I had a Bachelor's degree... Though, a highschool diploma is also acceptable for some certain jobs under AIPP |
kcosam:Breakdown of the cost of AIPP PROGRAM - ECA - N110,000 IELTS - N75,000 PR APPLICATION $550 AND RPRF $490 (Right of Permanent Residence fee) - $1040 which is equivalent to = N292,240 BIOMETRICS - $85 which is equivalent to N23,885 MEDICALS @IOM - N41,500 Total = N542,625 It's now a requirement for all provinces in the Altantic that Applicants must submit ECA and IELTS as at the time of Application for a provincial endorsement. This rule was recently effected. It was not in place when I started my process. However, during the processing of my endorsement the immigration officer requested for proof of my highest level of education and a copy of my resume. Permanent Residence is a visa/status granted to a foreigner who is not a Canadian citizen and bestowed the right to live and work in Canada without any time limit on their stay. Whereas, work permit is a temporary resident visa that allows you to work for a specific period of time for an employer. The work permit was originally created for companies/employers that are anxiously/urgently seeking for a foreign employee to come over to Canada and fill up the labour shortage in their organization and subsequently apply for their PR within Canada. The company complained that they have had issues with Nigerian applicants applying for Work permit to Canada. They further explained to me that applicants from Nigeria are been invited for an interview at the canadian consulate (embassy) at Lagos. During the interview, the visa offficer at the embassy will begin to run a background check on the applicants work experience letter (reference letters) as well as start contacting/calling each and every of the referees on the applicant's resume, the employer in Nigeria, and also the applicant's family members in order to ascertain that the applicants really had the job experience in the corresponding NOC stated on the job offer from the employer in Canada. Furthermore, they complained that Work permit application takes forever like 8-12 months before a response is communicated to the applicant, which all end up as a REFUSAL. So he advised that Permanent Residence is the best option for Nigerian applicants seeking to migrate through the AIPP program and the PR process takes at least 6 months or less in most cases. I hope this helps. |
teechedah:Yup! AIPP requires at least a high school diploma that is equivalent to the Canadian high school diploma to be qualified for the program. To be able to achieve this, you need to evaluate your degree certificate/transcripts via WES/ICES. NOC 0, A and B falls under high skilled program, whilst NOC C and D falls under Intermediate skilled program. |
xcaper:Thanks for the best wishes. It took me solid 4 months of persistence reading and exploring of different companies websites using the approved list of designated employers under the AIPP stream. At some point, I got discouraged as most of the companies I contacted vehemently said they weren't aware of the immigration program called - AIPP.... This kept me puzzling and wondering how will they not know about the Atlantic program. Meanwhile, their companies names were boldly published among the designated employers on the list of the Atlantic program to hire foreign employees. I knew what I wanted so I relentlessly kept on pushing without hesitation. I sought advices from some of the experienced Indians guys on the WhatsApp group I belonged to as of then, they gave me tips on how to contact employers in the Altantic region and shared me some of their cover letters during their hunt for job offers. Having implemented all the tips and tricks as advised, all attempts proved abortive as majority of the employers I contacted were looking for employees with work permit within Canada. The quest for job offer continued, afterwhich I decided to build up my LinkedIn account and subscribing to the premium package which will give me visibility for any job vacancies within my qualifying NOC. It was very quite fortunate for me to see one of the approved companies under AIPP and their advertisement for Vacancy for over two months. Fast forward, I did as the company requested and forwarded them my details. I got assistance from an indian guy who carefully took his time to review my resume, cover letter and reconstructed the mail I used. Within 3 business days, the company acknowledged the receipt of my documents, reviewed them and sent me an email regarding an interview. My interview was conducted via Skype on the 21st of December, 2018. The manager of the company asked me questions about my experience and how long I have worked in that field and what is my current employment in my country of residence. Do I have my IELTS and ECA ready? Of which I sincerely told him that I don't have any yet but will get it done as soon as I have successfully secured the job offer. The manager is a jovial and very nice person. I must say he is very understandable and he said "That's okay, but you must have it so we can file for your Permanent Residence Application".... I replied with a calm voice "Sure I will". At the end of the interview, the manager congratulated me with a smile on his face that I'm now a member/employee of the organization, that i should expect further correspondence from them which entails a signed job contract and supporting documentation regarding my employment via email. That I should endeavor to sign those forms and send it back to them ASAP, so they could begin my application for settlement plan, after which they will proceed with my provincial Endorsement and subsequently my Permanent Residence application to Canada. . This was one of the happiest day of my life meanwhile my PR will be the best of all. ..... The waiting is not an easy one but I believe everything will work out in due time and I'll receive a PPR in few months to come ![]() I hope my story stands to inspire and motive you all. My advice is that you should keep on pushing and never relent. Someday you will definitely find your dream employer and they will accept your application with open arms. Keep faith, trust the process and always be optimistic. I wish you all the very best. |
DBlessedofGod:Definitely boss! You will share your success story here in short time to come. Thanks for the kind words. |
GMs:Amen! I'm very grateful for the prayers. I'm thy humble servant to command, so you're free to contact me anytime. I'll be glad to help out in my little way. God bless us all. It shall end in praises |
GMs:The right time to apply for VISA against winter term is NOW. Waste no time and grab the opportunity of receiving a PPR in time and make plans for your trip. |
Wizzy1989:I would advise you send a CSE to the immigration requesting for an update/medical on your application and humbly request if they need further information from you that would be beneficial to the expeditious processing of your VISA. |
hannamia007:Thanks very much bro for creating the avenue for me to contribute my quota here.... I will do that which I'm always good at as can be seen on the Nairaland Canada Study Visa thread and Canada Visa forum ! ![]() |
MadeInTokyo:Thanks boss for the recognition . It is my ambition to selflessly see that this platform and it's members flourish. |
reliableGod:Assuming your spouse eventually was the lucky one to secure a job offer under the AIPP program from a designated employer he/she will be the Principal Applicant. The accompanying spouse doesnt need to write an IELTS and ECA. With that being said, If your spouse PR Application turns out successful, you automatically become a PR without stress . Please be well informed that AIPP is quite different from Express Entry where both parties (husband and wife) needs to sit and crack their brains for IELTS 8777 and attain at least a master's degree before being considered for an ITA. |
timmb:To the best of my knowledge, you both qualify for the AIPP stream. However the AIPP requires at least 1 year experience in the last three years in your area of specialization (Marketing). You don't necessarily need to be employed as at the time of your application. The corresponding Category of NOC for marketing is NOC 1123 |
connectgt:Thanks very much for the acknowledgement of my presence. I hope to be of great help to the members of this thread by making an impact and a difference in assisting others to actualize their goals of becoming a permanent residence of Canada through the AIPP stream. |
bamangar:Exactly! I got the job offer before writing the IELTS and ECA because I was a bit skeptical about the whole process..... After receiving my endorsement certificate from the province, my employer encouraged me to apply directly for PR instead of Work permit as they have had so many refusals from Nigerian Applicants seeking for Work Permit to Canada. Meanwhile, I'll advise anyone seeking for job offer to have both the IELTS and ECA handy so as to avoid delays. Once you receive your endorsement certificate from the province, apply for a direct PR instead of Work Permit. As per your second question, your sister's Permanent Residence status doesn't qualify you the sibling for a PR of Canada unless the principal Applicant is your spouse or parent |
hannamia007:Thanks for sharing! I'm finally here and ACTIVE ![]() |
dips4real:Age is not factor for a refusal once you can convincingly state your intentions to study and depart Canada after studies. We have seen several matured applicants here who had 20 years study gaps and still got their VISAS approved. I think it depends on how you prepared your SOP and the application in general. |
nicerichard05:No! Your application number starts with a letter (S) and usually assigned to an applicant whenever you apply for a VISA to Canada. Is this your first Application to Canada? I don't think you will have a UCI and Application number, until you've probably linked your account online. |
