I totally agree with this. It has been so since 2015. Once it is July, the rate of rejections is always on the high side. I've seen a denial without reason. Last year it was just purpose of visit to multiple applicants. I sympathize with all parties involved. Delay is not denial. Defer, re-strategize, plan and reapply early. Applying early is always key. If you notice, those who applied for fall intake early have their visas and have already travelled, those that applied late are ending up with denials. If Jan is close, defer to spring or even fall 2020 and once u have your new admission letter apply. With CIC, one have to be patient and plan well. Dont be in a rush. Secondly, always have a plan B,C,D. Don put all hopes only on Canada, because when denied, you will hate yourself. Explore other options. My 2cents
Valid! You've spoken well my brother!

Please is CAIPS file same as gcms note ?
Since they didn’t add finance means that aspect is okay right?
CAIPS is the previous name before it was changed to GCMS note. It's same thing. You can't be too sure if finances werent among the reasons for your refusal. The GCMS note will be in a better position to provide clarity to the factual reason for your refusal. Hence, it's important you order for one ASAP!

Lol bruv that wasn't your point, you're derailing. Your initial point wasn't regarding people that tender applications close to their resumption date. Ofc they would get rejected. Your point was that people that are still expecting a reply (like June/July applicants) with their resumption dates close are likely to be refused. The aforementioned sets of people are not the same.
Believe it or not. IRCC has reached their quota for the fall term 2019. Any pending Application that hasn't received a medical invite/update since June is likely to be turned down with flimsy/generic reasons. I'm giving my points based on the vast experience I have enjoyed in this process.

Frankrobbn sir, like how many months before resumption are we talking about here?
3-4 months prior to school resumption that's the ideal time to apply for Canada study Visa.

waynee2baba:
Bruv solid and perfect are two different words. You're misquoting me undecided

e.g Solid - Magna cum laude (Very good)
Perfect - Summa cum laude (Excellent)

Capish?
You made mention of SOLID Application and here you're deviating to SOLID OR PERFECT!... I reiterate, there is nothing like SOLID applications elsewhere. Every Application is Unique and must undergo same scrutiny like others.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1: 1:28am On Aug 21, 2019
waynee2baba:
Don't give high BP to people that are currently waiting for an outcome o. IRCC never said ''don't apply after a certain period because we might have reached the quota''. Anyway whatever you say regarding quota are mere speculations. No two applications are the same.

Fellow applicants, if you're still waiting for a decision, sight tight, as far as your heart is beating, there's hope. smiley
You don't seize to amaze me with those word of yours! I am not giving anyone BP here. What I am telling you is the real fact! Any applicant that applies late towards a resumption date is at risk of been rejected as the applicant is giving IRCC a limited time to process their application.

Confirm the authenticity of this information and I'll provide proof to my claims.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1:
waynee2baba:
"The rejection is a clear evidence that IRCC has reached a specific number of Temporary Resident applicants" - Not really, it's not factual, it's just a probability. Yes there might be a quota, but if your application is actually solid, I don't see why you should get denied. Unless they've reached the ''quota'' and your solid application has minor loopholes, they might be stricter and not overlook.
There is nothing like SOLID or PERFECT Application as you sound. Over my two - three years of experience of handling Successful Canada Visa applications, I have seen on several occasions where an airtight application, I mean applicant's with full funded scholarships getting rejected of their Visas. Hence, when it comes to Canada study visa there is nothing like the word SOLID applications. Every applicant's Application is unique and as such the visa officer will employ his discretion in assessing the overall information provided with the application. Most times the imperfect applications are the ones receiving PPR whilst the SOLID ones as you said, are been rejected.

You got it right! Applicants should be looking forward to applying for their Visas now for January Winter Term. Third week of December the visa officer's will be on leave and commence duty after the Xmas and New Celebration. The best time is NOW!!

Good evening gurus
More power to your government.
I got some sad news today.
I submitted study Visa application on 13th june and got only 1 mail saying my biometrics is validated then another to pick up my passport.
My passport was returned on the 15th August with no visa and no refusal and a note to send an email to the Canadian embassy in Nairobi.
A VFS official told me it's a refusal and i should get the email soon, however in my online profile the message is that a decision is still pending.

Do i order the GCMS note now or wait for a decision to come out?
Sorry about the outcome of your application. Check for trusted websites on the internet to order your GCMS note. This forum doesn't encourage the advertisement of third party websites.

In the absence of your GCMS note, can you kindly share your profile and the list of documents you submitted along side your refused Application.

All my friends like 4 confirmed now got this same refusal letter.
What is happening?

We are all rejected for the same reason?
The high rate of refusals recently from IRCC for Study Visa Applications is NORMAL as we do encounter same experience towards the start of every fall term. The rejection is a clear evidence that IRCC has reached the specific number of Temporary Resident applicants to be admitted/issued visa for the September Fall term, 2019. I will therefore sincerely urge all applicants to defer their Admissions to January and apply in time so as to be able to meet up with their resumption date!

Good evening Nairaland. Please I'm calling out to all the Gurus in the house Mr Frank, SOP writer and others. Please kindly help me. This is my 3rd refusal, I'm so frustrated and tired. Have ordered for my GCMS note. Refusal came this evening.
Hello ebby29,

I can really understand how disheartened and depressed you're at this point after been rejected for the third time.

However, I would like you know that few people have achieved success by trying once and most people who have achieved success in their various applications is because they have tried multiple times. The more you try, the more chances you give yourself of succeeding. Even Rome itself, wasn’t built in a day. Giving up signifies that you no longer believe in your capabilities and strengths. Giving up means that you are not ready to learn from your mistakes. Giving up means that you have accepted defeat. Instead, carry on with the struggle, put more effort, avoid the wrong turns that you made before and appreciate the fact that no Application, absolutely no Application, is perfect!

Always remember, that for you to be successful, you must believe in yourself even when things are not working out as planned!

Share me your profile here. Let's see how it goes in your next Application! My sincere apologies to those that were recently refused of their Visas.

It shall end in praises for everyone.

Is it compulsory to upload NYSC result? What is someone does not have it as in did not serve. Just has ond and hnd certificates? I would appreciate your kind response my people.
Is NOT compulsory to upload an NYSC certificate! If it's not available! The visa officer is more concerned about the following:

1- Financial Sufficiency that will cover for your first year tuition and living expenses.

2- Your intent to study and reasonableness of undertaking the planned studies in Canada (Purpose of Visit).

2- Home ties in Nigeria and/or Canada that will motivate your departure from Canada at the end of your authorized stay.

Therefore, you can include your ND and HND to evidence that you've attained a reasonable level of education.

Please Frank my dad have very low statement of account but he have a housing property of forty million naira that is rented out ,which the valuation certificate is in my custody please can I submit only the valuation certificate for my home tie please advice me well
Sure you can include the valuation report/certificate of the property as proof of your tie to your home country. However, you can't use the housing property as primary proof of funds for a study visa application since you noted that your dad has a very low statement of account. I would therefore suggest your dad should build his account to a reasonable sum that can cover the cost of your first year tuition and living expenses and have some left for his immediate family as well as his personal welfare before applying for your VISA.

I hope this helps

Good evening guys, I received my GCMS notes.

I have reviewed the application. Given family ties or economic motives to remain in Canada, the applicant's incentive to remain in Canada may outweigh their ties to their home country. The applicant's plan of studies appears vague and poorly documented. The applicant's prior travel history is insufficient to count as a positive factor in my assessment. Weighing the factors in this application. I am not satisfied the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. For the reasons above, I have refused this application.
I regret to hear your visa was rejected! As per the GCMS note;

I will suggest that you put more effort in constructing a persuasive SOP/LOE that will demonstrate that you're a bona-fide Applicant and would depart upon the completion of your studies.

The SOP should extensively and convincingly explain the lucrativeness of such program in your home country. If it is financially rewarding that can offest the cost of the program in Canada. The range of opportunities the program in Canada will bring to you as a person. What you intend to achieve in a short-term and long-term basis. The difference you could make when you return to your country e.g working for a short-term in order to gain practical experience and bringing in your acquired practical experience from Canada to your employer and afterwards setting up a company of your own and creating wide range of employment opportunities for your country men etc...

* Proof of properties located in your country of residence preferably in your name(or parent's name that you're directly heir to). This assets could be land, house or a registered business etc..

* Proof that your immediate family members (aged parents, siblings, spouse and kids) are in Nigeria and aren't accompanying you to Canada, would also be a strong reason for you to go back home when you have finished your studies.

* Financial obligations and moral responsibilities which falls on you such as leadership role, military, community, church and family that you must return to continue active participation and attendance in meetings. (A letter from any of these bodies would help).

The above listed ties could be your unwavering commitments back home and for this reason when adequately explained in your SOP/LOE should be sufficient to satisfy the visa officer that your economic incentives of coming back to Nigeria far outweighs that of Canada as stated on the GCMS Note!

Travel history - is not a factual reason for a Canadian study visa refusal. Hence, you don't need to travel out from your home country before you can get your application approved. if you have not travelled before, you can simply explain to the Visa officer in your SOP that you don't like traveling or haven't thought of travelling abroad before. You only want to travel now at this point in your life because of how important this BSc/MSc/PhD is to your career back home which would create lots of outstanding opportunities in your career and personal development Or you can say your busy work schedule doesn't allow you to travel.

Please guys, it is compulsory to leave the closing balance in ones SOA for a period of one or two months
nicerichard05:
SOMEBODY SHOULD RESPOND TO THIS
It's not compulsory to maintain/keep the money you used for your application until your VISA has been approved. The visa officers at the Canadian embassies are well informed that Sponsor's who are business oriented do make use of their funds for business transcations and shouldn't be expected to tie down their funds on the basis that they are sponsoring an applicant to pursue an advanced education in Canada. That is the more reason they requested for a history of ongoing inflow and outflow for the duration of 4-6 months, in order to ascertain the Sponsor's financial capability of financing the applicant's stay in Canada and the possibility of funding the subsequent years of study. Therefore, the long and short of this story is that you can make use of the funds but endeavor to have some left in the account. These funds shouldn't be borrowed from any family member/friends as you might be cheating the system and end up in misrepresentation.

I hope this information provides clarity to your question.

Congratulations on your approval. This isn't something you should worry about.

For those that are currently facing this or in future will encounter this simply send a CSE to Kenya, Nairobi Immigration office and you will receive the introduction letter updated on your MyCIC Account within 24 hours.

I HAVE BEEN APPROVED OF MY VISA, BUT I AM YET TO RECEIVE AN INTRODUCTION LETTER ON MYCIC ACCOUNT

Below is a drafted sample mail by me that you can send to the Kenya Immigration office;

Hello Respected Sir/Ma,

I hope this mail meets you well. My name is XXXXXXXX , I am a successful Canadian study visa applicant. I write to inform you that my application was approved on DD/MM/YYYY and my visa has also been appended on my passport. However, I haven't received an official introduction letter from your office which I am to submit to the immigration officer at the point of entry into Canada and that troubles me a lot as my course intake is drawing near, and my flight has already been booked for DD/MM/YYYY.

Kindly assist me with this issue and expedite the processing of my introduction letter. I do not want to miss classes and the orientation week as that would make it difficult for me to adjust later, putting into account the difficulty of settling down in a new country as an international student.

I am looking to getting your immediate and positive response.

High Regards,

XXXXXXXXXX

Contact info via Webform : https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=Nairobi

The subject of the mail should bear URGENT, along side the applicant's FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH.

Yes you can change over to any course or institution in Canada after a Study Permit has been issued provided that you've received an official acceptance letter from the college you're intending to transfer to in Canada. However, you need to inform IRCC about this change via your MyCIC Account through this medium https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/change-schools/account.html and also proof that you've officially withdrawn from the University. That being said, you don't need to apply for a fresh study permit.

Can one use IELTS general to pursue postgraduate admission and Express entry?
IELTS General for Post graduate admission - NO
IELTS General for Express Entry - YES

IELTS general is solely for immigration purposes and not for academics. More so, you don't require an english proficiency exam as a prerequisite prior to your acceptance into any of the Canada's DLI in view of the fact that Nigeria is an English speaking nation as well as during your undergraduate studies all instructions were carried out in English language.
