JummyFash: Conestoga,Centennial,Humber,Fanshawe, i dnt think they have PGD in ICT but they have it in Diploma and Advance Diploma. I am sorry but I doubt if your claims are right that none of the above listed schools offer an IT related program at a post graduate level. I know too well that these institutions are the popular colleges in Canada. Makano and co. can attest to this fact!. For this reason I would like to know the source of your information @ JummyFash |

Please can you directly reply my previous conversation with you where I gave some of my reservations and relevant corrections to be made in the letters rather than starting a fresh mail/conversation. This will help me in going through our past discussion and be able to guide you properly in order to ascertain that you did the right thing the second time. Sorry! but right now, I can't actually figure out the email that is yours as there are lots of letters on my deck and I am likely to mistake you for another person. Thanks for your understanding and please follow our previous conversation. So I can help you better. |

iVentHub: Thanks for your response,
The duration of the programme is 2years
Sponsor has two dependents
I have paid initial tuition deposit of about $10,000 CAD My Dad has abt 11M in his RSA account but his personal statement of account isnt good enough as there are no funds in it. We have two houses which I planned to do valuation for. I am kinda confused on this sponsorship thing The financial establishment of your dad is adequate enough to finance your first year study and stay in Canada considering that he has 6M in her personal account, 11M in his RSA and has already committed a deposit of $10,000CAD towards your tuition fees. With that being said, I would advise your dad to get a cover letter for his RSA that would state that the funds in the investment account can be liquidated or accessible at any given point in time. The two houses valuation reports will stand as a solid tie to your home country that can motivate your return back home after studies as well as proof of funds. |

iVentHub: Good Evening Everyone, I am a silent reader hoping to start my Visa application process by the end of this month, I gained admission for a post bac diploma in economics for Winter, I planned to use a travel agent for my visa application cos my neighbours are in Canada and they suggested that I use them, I approached them and presented all documents I need to submit, but here is the bottle neck my sponsor account has 6 Million in it with an inflow of 31Million and outflow of 25Million, I was told I can't use the statement of account that its not good enough. Gurus in the house kindly advise.
Cc @frankrobbn1 Thanks in anticipation First and Foremost, I would like to use this opportunity to congratulate you on your Admission into a Canadian DLI. With regards to your question pertaining financial sufficiency for your Visa application. I would like to ask few questions, which entitles the following; What's the duration of your program in Canada? How many dependants does your sponsor have? What's your tuition fees like? Be properly guided that all prospective applicants seeking for a Canadian study permit is expected to show a minimum of $10,000CAD as their first year living expenses as indicated by IRCC aside their tuition fees. This funds can either be in the Sponsor's account or the Applicant. When you sum up the above, do you think 6Million will be adequate enough to cover for your first year of Studies in Canada without working and no recourse to public funds? The answer is NO, because your tuition fee and living expenses would have exhausted the stated funds (6M). In a situation like this, I would advise that you get a co-sponsor who will be responsible for your living expenses whilst, your sponsor (dad, mom or immediate family) can stand as the prime sponsor to your application. |

Olatycoon: Good day everyone.. Pls I am very new here and still not new because I have been following this thread but I have never commented..
Pls I am yet to submit my documents.. I have gathered all necessary documents, I haven't done my validation yet, can I validate tomorrow and submit on Monday?
I want to know which is advisable.. Paper or online?
I have drafted my SOP and I need someone who can please help me cross check and vet it.
And also I want to ask, every document my sponsor gave me is photocopy aside the statement of account, he gave photocopy of previous visa, photocopy of property documents, photocopy of is passport biodata page, photocopy of ID card, am I good to go with that? Q-1 - Yes you can validate and submit your application anytime. Q-2 - Online and Paper NONE is the best. The difference b/w the two routes is that Online application can be done at your convenience and payment can be completed using your Master card. However, paper route you need to be physically present to submit your application and pay at the VAC counter. Online is cheaper 67k whilst, paper application is a little bit high 68k. As for me, I prefer online route as it's quite easier for me. In a nutshell, the onus is dependent upon you to decide which best suit you whether online or paper route. Be informed that none has added advantage to your application. Q3 - I won't be available at the moment to review your letter... I trust other knowledgeable individuals here can help you to vet the SOP and make possible amendments where applicable. Q4 - Yes you're good to go with the photocopy of the documents and Original bank statements. |

raymege: Exactly ,so long it has CAD whether before or behind the digits along with the $ sign it shouldn't be an issue.
When its an issue is if you use just the $(without mentioning CAD) in a Canada application ,it may be translated as USD Valid! However, the study permit application form doesn't create room to input the word CAD when filling out the financial section and funds availability. It's the responsibility of the visa officer's to run a currency conversion to be sure that the applicant or sponsor really have the stated amount in their account. For the SOP it doesn't matter whether the word CAD is in front or back. |

5454Darese: CAD means Canadian dollar, so if you want to use CAD no need to put $ Obehi44: Please is putting the dollar sign $ together with CAD an issue? Why is it so and what is the correct format? Well, as for me I use $ and CAD at same time when correcting any letter and it worked for so many others that I used it for. For example - $5,000CAD. So whichever one is good. It's all about following what you think it's best for you and hope for a positive outcome. |

I haven't been able to participate fully as usual on this thread for some couple of days now because of so many private messages, SOP's, LOE's, complaints etc. that i receive from prospective applicants here, which I am still battling to respond to all. Please let's keep to the purpose this thread was originally created and drop all our queries here, so that other applicants who share similar situations/cases like yours would learn and make the most of it. When this is done, it becomes a two-way benefit! Frankrobben1 na human being o Abeg.!!!!!! The humble servant to command! You can imagine one person receiving 15 PM's on a daily basis. Oluwaloseyi66: Please house I need help !!....What’s the difference between correspondence letter and Bvl ....I got a correspondence letter Abeg oh What is the content of the correspondence letter? BVL - Biometrics Validity Letter - is the letter that states the your biometrics is valid until a decade and will be used in your subsequent temporary resident applications to Canada. Please open the letter and confirm if this was the letter you received! Again, there is a Correspondence letter which you will receive after your visa has been approved. It's normally called - Letter of introduction - an applicant will have to travel with this letter and at the point of entry, the applicant is expected to hand this letter over to the immigration officer who will officially ask few questions before issuing them their study permit and SIN. Therefore, confirm which of the two letters you received in your MyCIC account as that will help me in advising you further. |

Submitted all documents, Secondary School, University, and other documents. School- Grande Prairie College Alberta, Diploma Business Admin 2 years
Statement of account of sponsor, my dad However on the 5th of July the embassy requested for a bank ticket and password saying the bank statement I submitted is fraudulent, closing account 6 million Naira. I was a bit scared, but man remained strong.
My take on this, just submit the required documents and make sure no fraudulent documents, if you'll be given the visa, you will be given. Congratulations bro. I'm glad it ended successfully! |

sashaa: That's like regretting the amount wasted on the medicals, right? .But isn't the medical valid for a few months or is it a year? If it is, can't an applicant reapply with it? Yup! The medical fee was the reason for the regret. A medical exam is valid for a year and for sure you can use it in your subsequent applications within this period of time. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1: 12:17pm On Aug 09, 2019 |
sashaa: Frank, can you explain the risk in it? The associated risk and regret is getting a REFUSAL after undergoing the medical exam. Some person's followed this path and when their application ended up been rejected, they started putting blames upon themselves for having spent 41k for a medical exam without waiting for IRCC to request for it. |

Vesment: send ur medical upfront if u have shaa. worked for some people i know The truth of the matter is that it worked for some people and at same time didn't work for majority of persons here. Going for an upfront medicals during an active application process is totally a big risk! Most especially when IRCC hasn't officially requested for it. It's more preferable and reasonable to wait for a medical call/request, with this you're sure with your fingers crossed of securing the visa or better still include an E-medical slip prior to the submission of your application. In a nutshell, applicants should follow their guts and instincts as it leads them. Who knows you might be lucky! Different strokes for different folks! Everyone should be 100% responsible for their application! |

Since I linked my paper application, the status of that application on my account home page has been showing submitted. Is it normal? Will it ever go to processing or would that be the next time there is an update? It is perfectly normally for every IRCC Application including Permanent Residency Applications to show submitted as the current status. When there is an update on the account, the status will change to Application/Profile Updated |

emmy4Gold: Oga Makano, that means I have to pay another biometric fees. is that correct sir Chukwuemekatehi: I think that policy started in 2018. He needs a Biometrics. makano: Yes u have to pay for another Biometrics since u did the last one in 2016.. The one u did in 2016 is not qualified to be valid for 10 years.. The 10 years stuff started from July 2018... Please be informed, and ignore all posts telling u not to pay for another Biometrics.. You can go to the CIC website to get more info on this subject... Peace The applicant is NOT required to pay a biometrics fees again. The biometrics information the applicant submitted in his previous application dated 2016 is valid until 2026. Unless the applicant is going for a permanent residence of Canada that's when he will be required to submit his fingerprint the second time at VAC. Please note---------- that I know countless of applicants who had their last biometrics done before July, 2018 when the law of biometrics been valid for 10 years was implemented and got approval without having to redo a fresh biometrics. @ emmy4Gold use this link to check the validity of your biometrics; https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/extapp/bioStatusQuery |

mrbankyy: Hello Guys,
Summary of my application: Initial submission : June 18th Medicals passed: August 2nd BVl/Correspondence: August 5th Passport request: August 5th (23mins after the correspondence)
In summary, it's all God because I dont even know what I put together except I start reviewing my application, I kept adding and adding different documents, even my mum's change of name lol.
I was worried it was late as I was ready exactly one month before and kept looking for what wasn't missing just because I wanted a "BAM" application. My advice is Just Do It, I'm sure you'll have read some people's list of documents and wondered "Wow Wow Wow" like a siren. But Mehn, no two applications are the same. God knows the end from the beginning
I uploaded my statement of account together with my mum's as I have been working for a while so it makes perfect sense to upload. Land documents were also uploaded, IDs of my parents with three (3) statement of intent (Mine, mum and dad). Our payslips, promotion letters at place of work for the three of us as well. (At this point, the VO would have been confused if the application was Mine, my mum's or my dad's lool.
Then the required documents - passport, offer letter and the likes, I was later called for Medicals which took a while to be uploaded, thanks to Q-life. The process was pretty fast and tensioning. I got the correspondence earlier this morning and wasnt sure what it meant as I have read somethings in that regard, but I was anxious for what was next.
When the main mail arrived, I just paused, relaxed on my chair, smiled, and thanked God.
To be very honest and frank with frankrobbin1, I followed and over-read almost all his comments. Thanks so much. And other comments that helped directly and indirectly from you guys, and kudos to you guys that assist with inquires on here, "you dont know whats going on"...The number of unknown spectators that use your comments ehn, we plenty for here.
Wishing waiting applicants Good luck and Success Congratulations brotherly. I am honoured to be in the context of your TRV success story.! I wish you success as you enroute to Canada for further studies. |

BaaleOfOntario: Good day everyone. my study permit was refused on June 26th based on 3 reasons P of visit, family ties and personal asset and financial status. I ordered for gcms immediately and came about 30 days time and i think it is generic. says my study plan is vague and poorly documented, that I won't leave Canada after completing my studies.
I'm 22 yrs of age. completed Nysc April 2019. profile is Bsc mass communication going for broadcast journalism PGC. Sponsor is father retired Manager with12.8m naira when I submitted but has reduced drastically to abt 10m. Now my Uncle, Father's biological brother (Same Surname) whom is a PR and his wife in Canada both want to write me a letter and act as Co sponsor in my 2nd application which I intend to submit In October they've been living in Canada for over 15 yrs.
Note : I didn't declare my uncle and his wife in my first application as advised by my Uncle as he felt my ties to Nigeria will be very weak.
docs submitted are.
1. father's employment and retirement. 4 documents. 2 fathers Data page and travel history. 3. My Industrial training docs. 2 of them. 4. Father's landed properties. a. his house plan, b.fifteen plots of land. c. He owns a agri business (poultry and piggery) but not registered with CAC which we truthfully said. so he did an affidavit of business ownership. 5. birth cert of me and only one sibling not from NPC though. just certificate of birth registration from local govt. 6. Waec, bsc certificate. Seems I've submitted so much docs.
Now I've written a banging SOP and LOE to the concerned refusal reasons.
I need advice from gurus . Frank.R, austacus, qudkom and other gurus. Hello, After a careful review of your profile.... I sense that your prime reason for a visa refusal was primarily based on your purpose of Visit and home ties to Nigeria. How did you explain the lucrativeness of the program in Nigeria and the demand for professionals in the field of broadcast journalism?. More importantly, work on your ties back home that will motivate your return home, e.g your parents who constantly needs your care and support, your immediate siblings who are looking upto in the family, your parents landed properties which you're traditionally heir to and must return to make lucrative use of it and develop your own company (if need be). Once you're done with the letters, do send it to any of the knowledgeable individuals here to help vet them and make possible adjustments were applicable. With regards to the bolded your uncle being your co-sponsor, you can certainly use him in your next reapplication. However your ties in nigeria must be well demonstrated and should supersede that of Canada. Include relevant documents to evidence proof of relationship like passport bio data page, birth certificates, and a family tree illustrating how your paternal uncle (sponsor) is related to your dad. |
