This is serious.
I’m yet to be paid till now also

Please can you provide the number I can call them on also.

FBN quest has paid since 2nd of January

What’s happening with Stanbic please ? @emmasoft
This is the number I called 0 1 2 8 0 5 5 9 5, it's a landline and it's like MTN customer service where sometimes you will call and wait while they play you their commercial till it's picked. You can use it if you wish but I am not sure any serious explanation will come out of it. Just start keeping records ooo

My reinvestment instructions has been from day one and all through 2023 it was reinvest without me asking. It means I will have to contact their customer service then.

Thank you.
Good afternoon House, if you are using Stanbic IBTC Asset Management be sure to regularly keep your records and Statements of account, please. I log in to my app almost every day and I see what happens there always. I checked daily throughout the holiday period because I wanted to add to my subscription but I did not generate and keep the statements.

I discovered my that the interest on my MMF account was debited in on 31 December 2023 but not credited to my account or reinvested. I sent them a mail in that regard but they did not reply so I had to call them.

They picked my call and couldn't tell me anything tangible than it was they credited me twice and this had to debit me. When I informed her that same happened in my other MMF account, she said it happened to all their MMF account. I instead mine was not correct from my observation and she asked for the proof/evidence that I don't have.

Also, last week made a deposit that was to be credited to my MMF account last week, the money was credited to my GIF account instead. That was their mistake not mine. Instead of them to just say sorry and rectify the problem, the kept lying and insisting that I made the payment to GIF collection account that was they credited it there. However, the transaction receipt is with me. On the receipt, my MMF account number is clearly stated in the Narration space and I rightly sent the money to MMF collection account. Mistakes are normal but why would you lie and insist on something you are not sure about instead of just rectifying the mistake.

I used to enjoy their services but now, I don't understand what is happening with them now again. This year, I will be downloading my statement at least monthly to avoid all these stories.

I am happy to inform the house on the above. Henceforth, whoever intentionally or unintentionally do in because it's already in their blood will be banned.

I appreciate Seun for this. It will at least preserve the sanity of the thread.

I once downloaded it before now but wasn't using before the phone was stolen. So last December they called and was asking when I will start using it. I told them it's this year. So maybe I will consider it later.

No mind GTCO Asset Mgt. They think say banking and asset mgt na the same. Instead of them to keep good hands and strategies from IONE them they do over sabi see where it landed them.

For Stanbic, I think the instruction to reinvest has not been effected because reinvestment of interest was done on 31/12/2023 for investors who already have reinvestment of interest running. The delay in bank credit is mostly likely between the custodian bank and the registrar since your in-house account has already been deducted.
My reinvestment instructions has been from day one and all through 2023 it was reinvest without me asking. It means I will have to contact their customer service then.

Thank you.

GTCO Assets Management no be am na... They worst part is that they are not even willing to improve. Customer feedback for them is just something to be trashed.

Na wa for Stanbic ooo. They deducted my December Interest/Profit From my MMF since 3 days ago and up till now, it's not be added/reinvested as I instructed or even paid to my account if they override the instruction.

FamilyRe: Being A First Daughter by freeman67: 7:33pm On Jan 02, 2024
OFunke24:
I feel so tired of being a first daughter. It feels my life is full of running errands and doing things for everyone but myself. I feel like a servant. I don't know who I am or my what I want to do in life. Im at home all day doing nothing but serving others. I feel so sad and tired of it whenever I remember I will still have to do it all again tomorrow not knowing when this will all end.

I see my siblings moving forward in life and I only have a Highschool certificate. My father didnt train me in school and frustrated all my mother's attempts to further my education. Yet all my siblings were put in school. I don't even have the time or mental space to run a business.

I want to leave and be on my own. I want to be able to hear myself. I want to wake up in the morning not thinking of what others will eat or errands that need to be ran. I don't want to think of lunch or dinner or worry about anyone else but myself. I don't even want to hear my name because it is always followed by one request or the other.

This holiday season I kept on thinking about how much I didn't want any family or guests to come visit because it would only mean more work for me. I would be the one living in the kitchen running around like a maid. It makes me feel so ashamed and less than. When people at home remember my running around they then start with the praises "Oh what would we do without you?", "Our second mother." "So hard working, what a strong girl." I don't want any of those praises. They make me feel worse because I don't do any of this by choice. I don't care for compliments for something I have no option but to do. Would any of them still say good things about me if I decided I was tired of living like this, of being at their beck and call? I want to be left alone. Because of these feelings I don't have any desire to have children. The thought of living like this again taking care of children makes me sad and I feel tired at the thought. I feel drained physically, emotionally and mentally. Sometimes I wonder if this is how it feels for all children and if I am just not cut out for this.
In Nigerian settings, it's a normal thing. This happens always especially if your siblings are still little but as they grow older, you should be taking a rest from some errand duties and delegating them. It's not as if it will end anyway. The responsibilities like looking out for everyone and even sponsoring some stuff in situations where parents are incapable and have the means will still be there but the errand stuff should and in some instances even be eliminated totally.

That said, what doesn't seem to be normal is your dad not making any attempts to send you to school and trying to twart all your mum's effort. If you have the guts, that's what you should discuss with him and your mum. It doesn't seem right. That shouldn't be the case except if he is suspecting your mum about something that has to do with you. So try and discuss that with both of them to at least get some facts before taking your final decision.

It's good to go for what you can and know how to do but in order of priority, food comes before cloths. So, you are likely to get more patronage from selling food items than clothing except if the area you choose is saturated with same kinds of business or your prices are excessive.
InvestmentRe: I Just Sold My Land by freeman67: 6:26am On Dec 22, 2023
You should have had a clear picture/plan of where you were heading before selling the land. What you did is akin to putting the cart before the horse.

That said, the land is already sold so no need to sulk again. Pick yourself today and do something. Shyness helps nobody just toughen up and commence the food business If you have the knowhow. If you don't, just keep the money and try to get a little knowledge of it or another biz you may wish to do before you commence.

Who is the you guys?

Show me one anywhere I caused trouble in this thread or on Nairaland.

I cannot imagine I am having a conversation with someone that defends and ethnic bigot.

Talk to me directly and don't say you guys.

It seems you not know the implications of what you are defending.

You do not even know the part of the country I come from you are already displaying your bigotry.

How can you be defending some one that displays so much hatred for their fellow human beings/

What a shame
The you guys are: Dums, Tranquility2345, Ositadinma1, Nice2023, Acidosis.

I actually cannot imagine having a conversation with some that can only call out bad if it's done by other people but can not call out if it's done by their kinsmen. Bad is bad. I will continue to repeat that for this particular bout, he was called out by Tranquility2345. Instead of you guys to tell him to shun him and let's protect this current peace we have here. You kept quiet and when he attacked back some of you start calling the MOD telling me I supporting a bigot.

If part of those you support are not bigots too, why didn't you call only him out when you made the post below?

Dum20:
Shame on all of you that decided to turn an investment thread to a thread for tribal bigotry, If there is any shame in any of you self.

It is easy to destroy than to build.

This is a thread created to help Nigerians on how to make their money work for them, some idiots have left their asylum to turn it to a place of tribal bigotry.

There is a saying that, if a mad man slaps you, you should not slap back, because if you start fighting a mad man, no one will know the difference between you and the mad man.

Bunch of idiots and fools you all are for turning this place to a place of tribal bigotry and nonsense.
Your mind dey tell you say be some form of Rambo or Commando wey I no go fit talk to directly abi. You are joker.

You will want to label everyone trying to intervene as a supporter of Ahib because everyone should queue behind you guys even when wrong. I chose neither to keep quiet or queue this time.

No amount of name call, will keep me quiet. If you don't like the situation, next time, tell your kinsman to let the sleeping dog lie.

Oga someone comes to a thread for investments discussions, he spews hatred for his fellow human beings, his fellow country men. He shows his deep seated hatred for a group of people just because of the language they speak and you come out to defend him and say, that he was provoked.

Very shameful. I do not think i have seen you condemb his actions.

For christs sake, how can you be justifying the actions of the guy?

If I insult you, insult me back, you do not go and spew hate for your fellow human beings that do not even know you exist.
The shameful aspect should be for you and all others that will gather on this thread to look for trouble and later start forming victim. That's something to be ashamed about.

Earlier when all these started, I have berated him and even reported many of those posts here to the MODS without even informing the house that I was going to do it because they were derailing. If the MODs could, they'll testify. However, I discovered that most times you guy would team up and call him. I have highlighted where he called him out but you could choose to be selective. So, I am not justifying anything.

It's just that you guys wouldn't let sleeping dog lie and at the same time can stomach what he will spill out at the end.

Yes, it's a platform where we can disagree to agree but why will you insult me in the first place. You of all people should know that "A mouth doesn't go to another month and comes back empty handed". Thus, when you decide to give, you should be expecting to receive in return.

Which of these Fintech app is a sure bet to invest in?
So far, SUKUK has been auctioned once yearly since it's inception in Nigeria in 2017. The auction for 2023 was in Oct 2023. So, I don't think there would be any auction this year again.

I seldom use Fintech except Opay. I have not done tried investing there but from feelers, their interests is not extra ordinarily great.

These are all high risk CPs. Very high risk!!!
Yes, it's risky. That's why investors need to do his/her due diligence and as necessary questions where need be. That said, there are know brands with very high ratings that would not want to default in their obligations because it will affect their brand image. It's okay to go for.

Also, investment generally is a risk. That's why you get return on it. It's just to choose the one you can chest.

Does FBNQUEST offer CP
Yes FBNQUEST Merchant Bank do help issuers to arrange CP's for intending investors. It doesn't seem common because you will have to at least indicated interest once or in a way have subscribed to their newsletter with your email add or phone number for you to be getting the information from them. If not, ordinarily you won't get the info except from other sources like Nairaland and co.

I do CPs with Meristem and they clearly state all deductions in the proof of investment letter.
That's good, Afrinvest also does that but they will bill you from all angles possible, they will charge you for the transaction even after the issuer have settled them. Then tell you that the investment is sublet to them because they are stockbrokers and not merchant bank so they have to bill to get their own.

Thus, I prefer merchant banks like FBNQUEST, Coronation and the likes. Coronation usually don't do any other deductions apart from the principal because they are most times either the lead arranger or one of the arrangers and the cost is borne by the issuer from their end. However, on this tax thing, they do not stipulate it on the proof, and when you ask they'll refer you to their mail/advert where it's stated that ' Applicable taxes shall apply except where otherwise exempt'. How I want take the follow up on exempt and none exempted again?

Infact there have been an instance that they have to come me to send them my TIN just when it was close to maturity. That is the only thing I don't fancy about them.
