Please come sirs!
I am here.. My knowledge of loan is limited. However, to contribute the little I can, I will say it is possible but you have to meet some very stringent conditions/very high interest with the commercial banks.

Where it could be easier a little is with mortgage banks. Then if you are a contributor to NHF and you are able to convince the Federal Mortgage Bank to you will get a very reduced interest rate and relaxed tenure to pay back.

That's is just a phone conversation between you and him.. Very soon he will tell the public that he either shot himself or tried to disarm the policemen.. He will also tell you they will conduct an autopsy and request for a family member /doctor of the slain to come and watch as the autopsy is done. Believe Frank Mba at your own peril.. By NPF standard the best lier is the best spokes man. So he is doing what he is paid for sha... I just pray he doesn't end up a victim of his boys/colleagues he defends so well one day sha...

They also charge N20 per page to print statement of account while zenith charges 10-15 Naira per page.
Sorry I always advocate that issues that will distort this thread not be discussed here in order not to derail it. However, pls be informed that the N20 charge for statement is as authorised by CBN for all banks.

Investment one is running me local now... and the thing is paining my souls seriously..... I ported from Abacus to VGIF, this people emptied by abacus account, and left the VGIF empty, over two weeks now, and they are playing me back and forth. Now I want to remove all my money, hope they dont tell me stories ooh. They say young people should invest for their future, now I have tried, these Investment one people are making me rue the day,I made that transfer to their account.
Hope AXA isn't this terrible, because once I get my money, i'm running away with my eyes closed. cry cry
You never know those people... If I talk now.. It will seem that I want to run down their business but we have to still say it for others to learn... I had to make one wrong comment on one of their post on twitter before they agree to release my VDF last week after two weeks ooo.. Then all I got as interest for on $1,000 for over 8 months of that investment was $1.8....

First 30 days 8.1%, second 30 days 8.1%, that's 16.2% in 60 days.
if I keep rolling over, I will get more than 100% in 365 days.
Baba, na FD I go do.
It's not like that ooo.. Sorry I thought you already know that interstate is per annum (yearly not monthly) so you will have to divide the interest of that Fixed Deposit by 365 (days) or 12(month) before you get actual interest.

They lied to you. I doubt if Diamond bank will give you more than 5% when you fixed for 30 days.

As far as I know, Stanbic ibtc gives the best interest rate on fixed deposit. i.e 8.5% for 30days.
Sometimes those things are negotiable ooo.. They may have a general rate for all customers but some customers can be more customer than the others. To be sure all he just need to do is to give an instruction for FD with all terms clearly stated and see if it will be carried out.

ClitRaider:
Thanks brothers.
I just left Diamond Bank, the available tenor for TBills starts from 61 days @8.2%.
Meanwhile the bank officer advised me to go for FD for 30 days @ 9%.

I think the latter is better tho.
You will be Taxed 10% of that 9% if you go for the FD. At the end what you will get is 8.1% but since your interest is in that 30days tenure, you can just go for it . The difference isn't much.

Hi, kindly help a brother.
I have a loose 1m, can I do 30 days tenor?
Somebody pls write back.
thanks.
Getting the exact 30days tenure for TB will most time come with some stroke of luck... It is not impossible anyway. Just contact your bank or other financial institutions you use to see the if it is available.

The whole of page 735 was all about I-invest whether it’s legit or not, whether to deal with bank or the app. Personally I won’t invest my hard earned money through I-invest but then everyone is entitled to their opinion, with that being said I’ll please advice everyone to ignore further response on it as there’s already enough message here to decide on.

I need public opinion, I have 8m fixed deposit at the rate of 8.5% that’ll mature may 23 but I’ve been contemplating on terminating and add more to invest in treasury bill at the secondary rate of 11.75% my bank already sent the form but my account officer said I’ll loose 25% of my accured interest if I terminate before maturity do y’all think it’s wise to terminate and invest on Tbills or hold to maturity.
You can invest the more money you have now in TB the next invest the 8M when it matures...
EducationRe: How Do I Get My Certificate Or My Money Back, Please Advise Me? by freeman67: 4:31pm On Mar 24, 2019
Are you sure that your coursemate was not used to dupe you?

First of all it is a know fact that no organised institution does that legally. Giving you a certificate you did not earn for a sum...wey no be honorary..

Also, it is illegal to pay for such thing that's why getting the money back may be very difficult. However, if you must try to get back the money be informed that both the giver and the receiver have committed almost the offence. As there would not be a receiver if there was no giver..

Seriously?

It seems many of you here are not technologically inclined. Lol! That is the problem.

You can point out the obvious flaws in the I-Invest app, but this talk about apps in general shows a lack of understanding or flexibility in things that solve problems and make life easier.
It's like my explanation wasn't clear enough to you there. What I was trying to say there is that even though I had issue with app, I knew who/where to contact which I did. I also knew my money is safe there and how else to access it other than the app. The owners of the app are Nairalanders and would have cleared issues if they wanted but they never have not done that before. Maybe they have never visited the thread or only do it without commenting I don't know. I am very sure the visit the stock market thread. If anyone is bold enough to speak for them they should be able to clear customers doubts too, that's how it works.. That said, the least I could contribute on this issue is what I have done so far.. Those using it own their money... The loss or gain is only felt by them.. Personally I already have already taken on it.

I don't know much about the I-invest app, but I came after the idea on attacking a financial services firm because they use an app.

If what you say is true and I-invest doesn't give certificates per TB you buy, so you know your custodian too and all other necessary info, then I think they are not safe. So I apologize to all those who read my former posts, I was just against the attacking an App narrative.

As for the app narrative it should be noted that even mutual funds too have a custodian. Let's all be guided. What I will not stand for is the app narrative, there are people with billions of naira in their bank accounts who use internet banking. At the end of the day, it's how a user takes care of their internet details to prevent social engineering that matters.
I understand your position quite well, we are all here to increase our investment and it's knowledge. Yes, while its true that we should not just condemn the the technology.. which is the app. It is also important that we allow people freedom to ask questions and clear grey areas... Who is the custodian of I-invest because as far as I am concerned there are a separate entity investing money on people's behalf.. If the app stop working where should the people run to?

where do people go when the app stops working?
i.e: their don't return after the tbills epire?
Good question..! I was using GT app before then my phone was stolen. I got a new phone and installed the same app but as I tried to setup I experienced some issue.. And could not set it up even when I went to their closest branch to me for assistance. At the end I had to download another of their GTworld which is what I use now. Thank God I already changed my password through my Internet banking so even if they guy who stole the phone attempted something through the app it wouldn't have worked. It was this app we are discussing now, how would I access my money...

That you lack the intelligence to figure out Simple things is your problem

I use I-Invest and l have no problem with it, I have no allegiance to the developers or sterling bank and I especially don't care who uses the app or does not use it.

The person who had the issues with the app and bank had the decency to separate issues and addressed only the discussion, I dont know how come you're mourning more than the bereaved
Already getting emotional and messing yourself up... If know me very well you will know I wont go down there with you but like I said before, you cannot bulldoze everyone or shut everyone up for trying to scrutinise the app and the activities around it while committing their hard earned money to it. I know you are the most intelligent person in the world... your intelligence should be used to enlighten people on the safety of your app... Like I said earlier it will only take being unable to login to that app and all those that invested money there will wish they never had. The best you can do is to proof me wrong but I am sure you can't so all you will do is to haul another insult but I don't care, it's your phone and your data, use it as you like...
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by freeman67: 8:30am On Mar 24, 2019
Ordinarily I wouldn't have said anything more because enough has already been said even before now. Also every investment has some amount of risk. However, the way this walcom guy is coming to bulldoze people and force them to line even when people have contrary opinion with proof reminds of the days of MMM. Let us reminded that when investing in TB with any bank there is a custodian that holds your money for safety. Your fund is expected to be held by another entity. Yes it may sometimes be a subsidiary of the bank but then it operates differently with CBN guidelines. That's why you pay custodian fee for every primary market TB and I believe in secondary market the original buyer would have already paid for it. If you invest through the App money is only guaranteed for the app owner and not you. All it takes is for the app to refuse to login one day and the one location office they have will be closed that morning and you money is gone. Ordinary Customer deposits in banks are insured and banks are monitored by CBN.. That I-invest is not under the scrutiny of anybody ooo. Severally sterling bank has told those who care to listen that there are just customers/partners with I-invest and not the real owner. I am sure those banking with sterling bank will have the real sterling app if they have one.

As a diaspora account holder who got tired of waiting for unsuccessful primary auctions, GTBank finally allowed me to bid in the secondary market, thanks to some of you who hinted me on how to go about it. My secondary market transaction is explained below:
Yes the truth is that under normal circumstance that is suppose to have communicated back with you if what they have is different from what you requested. Apparently, situation with Nigerian banks aren't normal because what was given to you does not tally with what you requested for so to know the exact rate and tenure given to you just request for proof of investment /certificate. With that you would be sure of your terms of your transaction.

Most times GT will e-mail the proof of investment /certificate to your e-mail address except if you do not subscribe to it. You can also walk into the bank and request for it. Its not that difficult just go and meet the staff that treated your TB request..

Quick question boss, is #5000 a fair amount to invest in SGIF?
There is always a starting point for any investment depending on financial strength of the investor.. Yes, that is the least acceptable amount to start with. So it is fair if that is all you can afford now but you will have to grow it to enjoy more returns...

Perfect. You are the best person to ask this question then, apart from the appreciation in price per unit of the SGIF, do they pay out any other dividends? Or it's just the capital appreciation?
To be honest I do not normally check the unit.. I just check once in a while to see if it appreciates. However, I notice a rapid increase in the first quarter of 2018 then it later stabilised..

I made a transfer from my GTB dollar domiciliary to another dollar account in same GT bank and charges nearly ran me mad. They charged a ridiculous 0.5% of the amount transferred as "commission" and another 5% of that commission as VAT. So to transfer $20,000 from GTB to GTB they charged $105! How much can you possibly make from your investment when bank has a already taken a chunk of the money to transfer within their own network?
Looking at yield for dollar mutual funds for most assets managers, you should expect 6% per annum, meaning that at least your one month of your investment is gone in transaction charges, another one month of your investment will be lost to when you redeem your investment. You have to leave the fund for 3 months to make any profit at all.
Wow that's much for just transfer. I actually never intended to leave investment-one before now but I had to consider it because their processes are not transparent.

Stanbic doesn't accept cash deposit into the Dollar account. However, you might consider issuing a cheque or transferring to the account. Except for telex charge of 6k, the transfer charge might not be materially different from the charge on USD withdrawal from domiciliary account.
OK.. But What's the Telex charge for again?
