Thanks for the input. I'm not in Nigeria, if I were i would have gone to the bank, do the TBills, and request another account officer before her very eyes. Waiting for her to help me get a new ATM card, before I tell her I'm insisting on TBills. If I tell her before she gets it, she may backpedal.
Eiya... Sorry but I believe if you can get your banks general customer service(Diaspora Banking contact) contact. Its just to either mail or call them that all.

I agree with you perfectly about the staffs at First bank's intentions of hindering him from investing.
My account's officer told me TBills is not a good investment, that fixed deposit is better. I couldn't believe the mail she sent me when I asked her opinion, I had to chat her up on what's app, she repeated the same thing.

I'm on this thread reading these messages to confirm if I'm being paranoid about her intentions, unfortunately I can't go to the bank myself to confirm.
Most times bank staff (account officers) will need you to have money on your account so that they can meet their target. So they will not want anything that will make the money move from there. What you will do is to visit another branch of your bank and request to meet the person in charge of Treasury Bill. Just be direct with your questions on what tenures and rates are available.

Also you will have to read well here and ask once in a while to know when primary market auction is to take place. Secondary market is always on.

I contacted IBTC and FBN.
IBTC says for TBills I can invest from N100k rate is at 10%. That seems quite low. Money Market rate is currently at 12.6%

FBN said from N5million for TBills. I didn't bother asking for the rate as my money no reach. However their Money Market Fund is at 13.1% currently so am thinking of going for this with the whole N500k.

I used the Formular (Principal x Rate x 1)/365 to calculate the daily yield and that placed the Mutual Market Fund yield of FBN higher than the Treasury Bills or is the calculation faulty or different for Treasury Bills? Please help. I want to make an informed decision. Thank you.

House please feel free to weigh in on this
For FBN, the person you met is either not well inform or want to hinder you from the TB.. The minimum you can invest in TB there is 100k too.

Be informed that there are more charges to mutual fund than TB. Also, the rate for TB once gotten is stable throughout the tenure of the investment but that of mutual fund fluctuate daily or weekly depending on the investment house.

How many days is that interest for? If it's one day then I can say they just did it to woo you... Because I have an account with a little above and I don't get upto that..

Next time just try and crop the screenshot to reveal only the amount principal and interest... Your other details are not needed.

No, I didn't ask for it to be credited to my account. I don't know what went wrong with my GIF or if something is actually wrong but I'm considering MMF now. See the email below.
This is serious ooo... But whichever way there was a time you would have had enough interest but because you didn't check you didn't notice... There was a particular period the interest was growing rapidly and before I could know it, almost all the interest was wiped out so the next time it increased a little I transferred to SIM.

As you consider MMF now... You could also consider reinvestment option for the interest if you are not in urgent need of the money. It will save some stress as you can withdraw from there when needed.

Lol e lean small sha, i tested it with N150K but it hasn't worked, at least if I had seen even N5k I would have understood cheesy
Are you sure you did not request for you interest to be credited to you an account when due(as in quarterly). If that is not the case then something is actually wrong because even me that have just 5k left in my GIF have seen more this year than that.

That said, the emphasis on guarantee investment fund is on guaranteeing your capital after some month(I guess like 3 months can't really remember now)not on the interest. For the interest, it's not because it has equity in its mix.

If that money your was in the MMF it would have been giving you an average of N42 daily... If you times it by number of days you left the 150k there it would have been more than 5k.

In absence of any utility bill what other options are available
Utility bill is not limited to Electricity bill alone... It could also be water bill, phone bill if you have a land line in your residence or even rent receipt. That said, for Stanbic IBTC in the absence of utility bill you can print your statement of account carrying your address from your bank and submit to them.

Am not hating oh,I like 2face normally, but still wondering why people are tagging 2face as legendary, yet he hasn't received any national award like MON,not that he's feeding the poor or given back to community, not that he's a human right activist like fela, the other time he was Trying to Organize a protest, he later go awol and cool, even his album isn't up to 10 and his hit track isn't up to 10 as well, so why people tagged him as legendary musician?,in Nigeria we love to celebrate something meaningless, the other day that Genevieve take picture with one American actor, people started congratulating her as if it was an award of a life time Archivement..

Another reason why our politicians take us for granted,we abuse them, but we lick their shoes when we meet them face to face, hypocrites people in a rubbish country... Politicians created laws for us but they don't obey it,and they use it against us because they know that we have no knowledge of our right, even if u are trying to proof it,they will use their power and money to take u out.....
Bro before asking you would have seek to understand the meaning of the word legend as it relate to 2face (a musician). A legend is an extremely famous or notorious person, especially in a particular field.
"the man was a living legend"
synonyms: celebrity, star, superstar, icon, famous person, great, genius, phenomenon, luminary, giant, big name etc. That said,

In line with the above definition, he is a Nigerian music legend by all standard. He music career is upto 20year and he is still relevant. His early tracks are still very pleasing to the ear. He is know allover Nigeria and beyond.
He is part of the musician that revolutionised Nigerian music.. In the 90's and early 2000 majority of Nigerian parties were serviced with American music. So is our FM's. It was their generation that changed the trend by churning out more music thereby laying a foundation for the present ones. Now you can go to a party and all you will be thrilled with Nigeria music all through. That has not only created career for more Nigerian artist but has also helped the Nigerian Economy at large in the big picture.

Apart from that lots of artist do humanitarian services with publicising it it for the glam. I have not seen his community man talk bad about him before.

Bros that guy and his generation of artist paid their dues and should be respected ooo.

Black man's poor mindset.

We see little collaboration with the whites as a feat. It is so appalling that we've been beaten into this psychological submission that the whites are superior.

They had us in chains years back, they've still got some of us psychologically in chain today.
Not really about the race or colour. Every entertainer sees collaboration with a bigger entertainer as an achievement because it exposes them to more audience and increases their industry worth.

unending suffer before enjoyment. so when will the enjoyment come. my parents suffered austerity so that i can enjoy when am grown up, my parents also suffered S.A.P so that i can enjoy when am grown up, and so many other economic sufferings.
all those are just for me to enjoy when am grown up.
as u can see am now grown and am supposed to be enjoying, but these clowns at the helm of affairs in our country are asking me to endure and suffer so that my own children will enjoy. what rubbish. what cycle of suffering.
they dont mean well for us. given my experience, whats the guaranty that my children will enjoy when i finished another round of suffrering
We all don't have the same way of writing... Maybe because I did not add any funny emoji or start cursing you guys didn't see the intended sarcasm behind the we will all suffer before we enjoy statement...

I don't have a private refinery/ filling station or market where I will get anything at a lesser price.. We all go to the same market.. I know from personal experience that nothing increases and decrease in Nigeria... I am also part of the people that keeps paying for light and not seeing any improvement even though we keep hearing about it's increase on channels TV..
I know all that but I also know that my knowing that won't change any decision government decides to make so I have resolved to brace for the impact.... Las Las we will all leave through it.

We are one of the largest crude oil producers in the world, We shouldn't buy gasoline 250 per litre.

""those that own vehicles should be able to afford fuel before buying it.""

Do u even know that the price of transport would triple if the price of gasoline doubles? Do u know the consequences of that?
The consequences would be that the price of anything that is transported be it; water, food, clothes, drugs etc and all services will increase. There will also be fresh demand for increase of salary because the so called increase that is meant to start by May 2019 was to measure cushion the effect of the former increase from 87-145.

At least the President has already told Nigerians to brace-up for the impact. Welcome to next level. We will all suffer before we enjoy later.

I check my account monthly, and sometimes longer. (like when I want to top up)

I remember the information when I subscribed to Stanbic MMF said:

"interests are paid QUARTERLY"

before they started showing his daily interest thing.

All I do is use the average for the month to check what was added for that month.

It always checks out correct.

I see NO need for all this "MAD" daily monitoring; THIS IS NOT AN EQUITY FUND OR STOCK MARKET

Just saying my mind/attitude to MMF.. No "beef" intended O
I was actually referring to those saying there were not credited on a particular . Apparently they have time to check it daily that's why they could say there were not credited on a particular day...

If you want to receive yourselves the stress of checking minutes and not seeing your interest..especially for those using Stanbic IBTC asset management. What you should do is screenshot your account daily by 12 - 1.00 p.m every day excluding Sundays.. Pay more attention to what you see on Mondays because the interest credited is alway for two days..both Saturday and Sunday.

I am saying this because I just noticed that lots of people do not take their time to notice the interest credited in their account daily...

I think sec market commissions is worst, was charged 50k plus by Firstbank for 47mils investments. I never do that much through primary market, so wouldn't know their charges.
I don't think so, First Bank primary market custody fee / safe keeping fee is 0.125.
Custody fee / Safe Keeping fee for First Bank Secondary is 0.1%..
47,000,000 ÷ 100 = 470,000 x 0.1 = 47,000.. Plus the small small change.. So it is almost like that...

You must have invested a huge sum of money for you have paid up to 10k as VAT. It always depends on the amount you are investing, about 1% of total invested amount.
0.1% or 0.125% of the face value of depending on that investment . It should not be upto 1%.

For you to know how much you are paid daily, you will have to screenshot your main page like someone said above... You should try and do that at least say by 1.00pm daily weekdays... Then pay a more attention to it every monday(after weekends). As you do that today, keep so that as soon as you do that again on Monday you will subtract the previous amount you had from the present. You will discover that you are always credited, you will also discover that some times you get more than you think and vice versa.

CrimeRe: My Phone Was Stolen And Money Withdrawn From My Bank Account by freeman67: 8:01pm On Apr 04, 2019
Most of telecom network providers in Nigeria have 247 customer service that can always attend to at anytime. I know the situation is confusing because it has happened to once. However, I was lucky as I ensured my phone SIM was block immediately so they could not access my bank. So that's the first thing to be done. Immediately you tried your number and discovered it was switched off and you were very sure it was stolen you would have just called your network provider to block your line. Also, it's good we take precaution sometimes.. Leaving alerts on your phone and having all your details on the same phone will give them an idea of the bank you use.. So sometimes we can just delete alerts or better still request for email alert.. And other time operate our mobile apps on the phone where with a number different from the registered in our bank. Sorry for the loss...
