I don't even have the right words to express myself after reading eleven pages in one seating!! Mr.Serubawon this journey started about 7 years ago thank you so much for sharing this private journal with us,it is so inspiring, moving and a lot more,You have been a blessing to many on this one. In God's time everything will fall into place. I have to say the beauty of NL is just "rubbing" shoulders with some of the most intelligent minds you could ever come across. This thread has just brought out more admiration for many and I pray to be as wise as some of you. The way you have addressed or responded to some issues on this thread makes one look at life from very different angles.God Bless |
It's no laughing matter but some of you Nlders can kill one with laughter, how do you start telling your parents to go to the naughty corner?? |
I didn't think the accent and the pronunciation was very much connected until I heard (Scoucer's) or Liverpudlians and (Geordie's) people from Newcastle talking. Both towns are in the North of England,You may not think they are speaking English until you listen attentively,so yes one has to do with the other and of course exposure plays a big role with pronunciation of words |
lwkmd !! I've met people working in senior positions overseas who won't pronounce the words properly,They can but they choose not to. If I understand what the person means,I just listen. We (Africans) are an intelligent species,An average African speaks at least 2 native languages plus English.I believe with 3 languages we're good to go. until then, this still remains as follows Finance pronounced as "Feenance" Battery as "Batheery" Tummy is "Tommy" Tongue is "Tong" Average is "Avaredge" |
Rest in Peace Prof. Mathaai, You shall continue to shine with the legacy you have left behind, wow I didn't know she was in her seventies looked very good for her age |

This is just a SAD situation!! These people left their families and everything that means the world to them in their home towns, to start a new life elsewhere just to end up dead. How horrific,May they rest in peace!! |
People need to stop thinking their lives will be more fulfilled when they get married,If you are not happy on your own, then even when you tie the knot you will not be happy. We all know at least one or two people who had no business getting married, but they did it for the wrong reasons.I like to say Marriage is an eternity affair so choose well because you will be spending the next 50 plus years together,so you want to make sure you do it right the first time. |
He could be shy too ask you but again who knows why he's holding back?? When he's ready he'll ask you out maybe he wants to tidy a few things and he's looking for the right opportunity,if he doesn't say it with his mouth, his actions will let you know he's into you too.I just hoped men could be more vocal sometimes things would be so much easier |
What happened to old fashioned conversations on the phone, sometimes I want to hear somebody's excited, sad, or happy voice and not keep seeing smileys of this nature |
ochukoccna:lol you're not been raw, you're just saying it like it is, but on a more serious note if you are going to share your body with someone else and also Invest a lot of your time, energy, and finances with this person they better be your friend really. It just makes it easier to forgive or overlook their shortcomings or flaws. |
I have also noted the foundation of a good r/ship is friendship. When you get to your old age, with fragile bones, and missing teeth the last thing on your mind is jumping the sheets, your bond is your friendship. Meet Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher of North Carolina. They have been married 85 years (86 in May) marriage of a living couple and get this…. Zelmyra is 101 years old and Herbert is 104. Due to their friendship they must have made a whole lot of sacrifices along the way to be where they are now.

I guess the presidents are spoiled for choice with options, either protocol of Commander in chief leaving the aircraft first or being a gentleman and letting their wives lead the way I guess they choose the latter ![]() |
^^^ I wonder what it did,but you know african peeps and cats |
I'm just trying to think of a good "English speaking Nollywood" director. It looks like some Actors/Actresses talents are seriously going to waste at the rate they are producing movies today |
^^^^^ Not personally but this Peta/animal Cruelty is the first picture which came to my mind when I saw the crucified cat .I have seen these organizations causing havoc on TV but I know they won't dare challenge this lot with their cat not in Africa anyways |
MRbrownJAY:I know lol,I'm sure they are seeing the pics from a distance and cringing you know how they love animals better than their fellow human beings even ![]() |
Do they have those PETA or Animal cruelty organizations down there ??I'm sure they wouldn't be amazed at this sight lol |
Why is it Seasonal?? |
Yay can't wait to watch this one,I'm a big fan of Mainframe & Miss Funke |
