If one divides N7m by 12, that's an estimated 500k monthly after various deductions. We can only do a fair comparison if the NNPC pay is not shrouded in secrecy but I honestly dont think it will beat the N7m.

if one should consider what was written as the basic salary on the APL plus a rumoured upfront of N5m, it is still not up to N7m.

No reasonable employer asks for your letter of resignation from your previous employer.

What is done is to ask for reference on you from your previous employer (HR or the person you used as your reference in the company eg your former boss) at the point of confirmation. This can be like 6 months into the job. And this applies only to EH. Some companies stretch it further to do a secret background check on you (whether you have lied on your previous work experience) but I doubt NNPC does that for work experience (but I know they do for certificates).

For GT, your previous employment does not matter so nobody will ask for resignation letter. Even previous employment reference may not matter because it is an entry level job. At GT level, you are in same bucket with someone that has NNPC as first job, so it does not make sense to bother about your previous experience.

My job role has very few professionals in Nigeria/Oil and Gas, the last job I took up with Oando, I was the only finalist for that job role out of hundreds of thousands who wrote the test, whereas other areas like HSE, Finance, Business Development etc. had scores of people remaining.

Very few people more qualified than I am professionally will apply to NNPC. It's only interesting to me because I just hit the number of years needed to apply for a more snr level than I am now in the industry.

My interview went very well.

As long as they will recruit up to 2 people for that role, I'll be there.

One can draw inference from this forum for any research that has to do with individual differences and group behaviour. I have observed different behaviours and reactions here.

Meanwhile, the happenings recently, just affirms the fact that humans are very complex, complicated, unstructured and insatiable in nature. It is impossible to please everyone simultaneously. Focus on popular opinion.

It is difficult for two or more different people to agree on a common thing. But at any point it happens, and there's a popular opinion for or against one's actions or reactions, one should be discerning enough to continue or recline respectively. Especially when there's no governing policy.

If one fails to discern and keeps acting up, you become a nuisance in the eye of majority.

We all have liberty and are entitled to our opinions, however one difference between been smart and not smart is the ability to understand when to apply restraint or not.

Is your action pooling the majority to your side favourably?
Think about public opinion!

I just wanted to determine the comparative difficulty in NNPC's recruitment process relative to other IOCs, as a way of determining the degree of correlation which will help me extrapolate the probability of considering a career in that industry, instead of just taking up an offer with Elon Musk to build a new planet beside Venus.

From my time at McKinsey, carrying out strategic studies for governments of similar 3rd world countries like Nigeria who are our clients, I have been able to draw a preliminary hypothesis that industries with a high correlation coefficient between the recruitment processes of their National flagship companies and other international competitors in the same industry often provide a rewarding enough career path.

Although, I might just end up just looking for seed capital and starting my own space research company by October if this recruitment is not concluded by then.

okay, because of the previous happenings and advice on the thread, i am not supposed to say this so i'll put it this way, the ''last i checked'' was way back before i consulted several people on the issue, since then NNPC has been off my list. I think, not sure, i even mentioned it in one of my previous comments that they were my last option. So the point is i would most likely 99.9% not be accepting NNPC's offer. That 0.1% is for some exceptional unforeseen circumstances or advice
