Me thinks this etv/eAfrica thing (freq 10985 v 10049) is on Arabsat 30.5 degrees East, because:



. . . . . These support my claim. Otherwise I would have moved the dish very slightly up (if it were IS 802 33 degrees East) and not down.

2. According to a friend, replacing the KU Band lnb with a C Band one at that etv dish position gives channels like Al-Manar TV, which are on Arabsat 30.5

Has anyone noticed that this new firmware adds some % to the signal quality. My Multi Tv which was at 84% quality is now 95% after the upgrade. Likewise 4 all other channels. Is it an artificial signal gain?

just as Ilish has said it is far easier to update from the USB port. unzip the soft ware using either winrar or 7zip

then copy to your flash drive.
insert the flash drive to the usb port of the decoder,go to menu>USB>data transfer.
scroll to the STb.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A STABLE POWER SUPPLY (IF POSSIBLE DO THIS ON A GEN SET)
press ok on the remote control.
wait for the process to finish.

the decoder reboots on it own. . .

I just updated this evening and i must tell u it was a big relief to see the mytv splash screen go.its faster in booting and so . . . FTA-ish in feeling.

My rs232 cable has diifferent configuration from the one posted on NL by Baba Egun. It took me lots of effort to finally figured out that my Pin 5 is not GREEN but rather it is YELLOW. This is the colour combination:

PIN 1-------BLACK PIN2------BROWN PIN 2(i think he meant 3)------RED PIN4------ORANGE
PIN 5-------YELLOW PIN 6------GREEN PIN 7------BLUE PIN 8------PURPLE and
PIN 9------ASH.

So, my connection is:

PIN 2 (BROWN)-- to -- PIN 3 (RED)
PIN 3 (RED)-- to -- PIN 2 (BROWN)
PIN 5 (YELLOW) --to -- PIN 5 (YELLOW)
UNCLOTHED --to-- UNCLOTHED.

i kind of believe you as per the ready made one not conforming to standard.

@segunod. Connect your dishes the four ports and you receiver to the rec. port on the on the disecq switch.
Battery low to be cont.

After the connection has been done you will now need to assign each dish to the lnb ports on your receiver.

since all of then are Ku bands the it is a little easier.
just try to view a channel and i believe it should show irrespective of the dish.

as for me here in lokoja i receive up to 19 satellites with my 2.6 mesh dish.
when i am chanced i will send the list of all of them to you

Ok then use the Video option. yours may be an old model(what make and model was it. . . it goes a long way to help)

then connect the audio out @ the back of your box to the audio input of the sound set.
i believe this will work
