BetaThings: Please don't go thereThe bible did not make insulting statements about Jesus Christ (I am glad you recognize Him Jesus the "Christ", the Messiah! Not the one in your Koran). It was unbelievers both of Jews and "gentiles" that made insulting statements and Jesus Christ acknowledged them. Luk_6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. |
9ja_I_hail: Your point here is that GEJ has failed? My concern is that non of you is able to counter his achievements with fact. He has 4yrs in his tenure and have spend a year plus or two years still have two and half years in office, what makes him a failure?Take it cool bro, they will call you GEJ paid laptop crew member because that's all they know to do. I understand your school of thought and I'm impressed. They should tell us YES or NO if the points highlighted by OP is true and produce counter-facts. I believe we have a long way to go but I can see the improvements in some areas. And for those who say GEJ is a failure, I once asked, do you give a student his final result in his 2nd year? If not then why say GEJ is a failure when he still has 2 years in a 4-year "course"? |
Akiika: President Jonathan's CNN Electricity lie puncturedThis kind of journalism by Amanpour is a shame! I am not a supporter for GEJ/PDP but I live in Lagos and I can't remember the last time my freezer wasn't frozen. The power situation is VERY FAR from where we should be but I cannot deny the fact that it improved under Bath and dropped a bit after he left. By the way, you cannot pick 3 tweets and 3 people from a city of over 20 million in a nation of over 170 million and say they have spoken for all! My friend who lives in outskirt area like Abulegba says he enjoys light like 23hours of the day, and I have never been to his place when there is no light. Again, GEJ has a long long long very long way to go before he can be a hero but ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN MY AREA HAS IMPROVED!!! |
If we have to kill everyone that disagrees with our ideas or faith then we would not have any human alive today, especially not these northern extremists. For those who believe its everyone northerner that is violent and are Hausa/fulani, you are wrong. I am from S/S, served in the north and lived there a while before returning to S/S. I actually feel the north is one of the best regions to live except for the extremism. I have good and well educated friends from Kano, kaduna, Jos, Gombe, Taraba and Adamawa. We are still friends till date. But there is this inherent hatred in this northern Muslims for Christians and other non-muslims. I once witness a young child begging and army officer, the officer asked what his name was, when the boy told him, he changed his mind and drove off. I thought within myself, are all these "bambi-allah give me money" and almajiris not muslims and we give help to them. Anyway my friend from jos who witnessed it too told me its not new, she sees that all the time. But then I felt terrible just to think that a Nigerian Army Officer could do that, what will he do if it was religious crisis, shoot the terrorist muslims? Certainly not! |
13volts: Allah the day similar incident happened in LawlessI understand your pain, i did my NYSC in the north and had good friends that are still good pals till date. The thing is that they are Christians. I don't know if you are a muslim but most muslims I met while in the north will support boko haram any day. In short, when cpc was formed back in 2010 I saw problem coming and told my friends that I would not want to be in the north in 2011. I was right when i saw all that happened after the election. My point is there is this extremist tendency i saw in the northern muslims even when i went to football viewing centres. |
ITbomb: That is why you should go for Nokia / Window devices.I will stick with my android it solves all my points. Nokia Lumia 920 is mean though, I had hands on with the device pre-launch. But I'm not just cool with Windows Phone. |
Akiika: Hall of SHAMERS!I quickly compiled the list of 'i neva chops' newly recruited by GEJ's administration to dish out gibberish!1. Dreal12472. MogidiYou are very myopic! Me, a GEJ supporter?! For your information, I didn't vote for anybody last time because I had no candidate! I don't think PDP or GEJ are close to what I am praying for Nigeria, but I will also not shut my mind to reasoning like you have done again in this your post. I for one can see/enjoy some of the things the OP highlighted. I wanted to see opposition supporters dispute OP's points, but nay, this is what I see, your kind of posts. For your information, I am hoping to vote in 2015 and from the posts and mentality I see opposition party supporters exhibit here, I most likely will vote for PDP unless the opposition change their desperation tactics and begin to REASON! I am now of the opinion (personal) that many o you, opposition supporters are young UNILAG/LASU students who don't know nothing yet. You guys sound more like paid critic to me, observing from a neutral ground. AGAIN, GEJ IS NOT MY DESIRED KIND OF PRESIDENT AND I HATE PDP, BUT I WILL NEVER DENY FACTS THAT GEJ IS PUTTING SOME THINGS IN PLACE!!! I am not like you! |
AnanseK: You are so obsessed with this "HATE" . Nobody hates him. He just doesn't have the capacity to move this country forward. He has no vision, no plans and he is terribly corrupt and myopic. That's all. We don't hate him. There are thousands of people like him and we don't want them to be our president.I thought the op brought facts showing that GEJ is moving the country forward. Why not dispute his fat, that would do more convincing than this baseless post. |

ACN/CPC goons will never disappoint. First, I am neither a pdp nor acn/cpc supporter. I read through looking for posts do argue the points highlighted by sincere_nigerian but all I can see is posts either attempting to discredit GEJ/PDP or just skewed and shrewd comments with no reasoning (like that guy that did a retarded mathematics with crude revenue). Being a neutral, I think the ACN/CPC goons are even making me feel GEJ is working as they don't bother to argue the facts by GEJ supporters. The opposition supporters here on NL sound more like paid critic to me. I am a public relations person and can tell when one has set asside reasoning when it comes to propaganda. |
Good points @thorpido and @joagbaje, I do fellowship with a ministry and don't think any Christian should avoid doing so. However, my point is this: Hebrews 5:12from your post. Read along with these: 1 Peter 2:2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, 3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness. Galatians 4:1 Think of it this way. If a father dies and leaves an inheritance for his young children, those children are not much better off than slaves until they grow up, even though they actually own everything their father had. 2 They have to obey their guardians until they reach whatever age their father set. Ephesians 4:11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Matthew 23:8 But none of you should be called a teacher. You have only one teacher, and all of you are like brothers and sisters. 9 Don't call anyone on earth your father. All of you have the same Father in heaven. 10 None of you should be called the leader. The Messiah is your only leader. 11 Whoever is the greatest should be the servant of the others. Mark 10:42 But Jesus called the disciples together and said: You know that those foreigners who call themselves kings like to order their people around. And their great leaders have full power over the people they rule. 43 But don't act like them. If you want to be great, you must be the servant of all the others. 44 And if you want to be first, you must be everyone's slave. 45 The Son of Man did not come to be a slave master, but a slave who will give his life to rescue many people. 1 John 2 20 But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth. 27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. I have brought forth these scriptures not so we won't submit to authority but to point out the purpose of leadership. It is not to RULE the people or set another MEDIATORship, but to speak the word of God to the people and let them DO/OBEY the word! A lot of what we have today (in DENOMINATIONALISM) is that we have set for ourselves, gods of men. |
grafikii: Can should shut up, they forgot jesus Christ is a prophet in islam and el rufai can't mock him.You forgot Mohammed is a false prophet according to the Bible! |
The goal of 5/4 fold ministry offices (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers) I took out time to study Epessians 4:11-32 and concluded that this needs to be addressed. We have been taught for a long time and made to believe that we are suppose to be SUBJECTS to pastors and the other offices mentioned. But as is pointed out in verses 13-16, there is a goal. We are suppose to grow to the point were we are matured enough to not need the ministry offices before we can live and fulfil the true Christian life. I am not an advocate for those who do not attend services/meetings but to put attending services/meetings in the right perspective. A Pastor/Apostle/Prophet/Evangelist/Teachers goal is suppose to be to raise people to depend on God alone and not on their "special" anointing. The call is an assignment/responsibility not superiority. I have other points and scripture to share along this line but I would like to hear your thoughts on this. For me, it is very vital as this has led to men of God taking the place of God in the lives of many Christians. Let's talk! |
How do you create a fighter for DEFENCE and call it CONQEROR? Thought it should have been called the DEFENDER (Voltron things)! |
If you are ga.y and you feel that's what you were born to be, why are you trying to modify yourself to be like the other gender? Isn't it just the proof of how "twisted" the lies they feed to themselves? |
olaheavy: The so-called 'Isreal,' which was founded illegally by the useless Britain in Palestine, is an evil jewish state, so their half-blind christian eyes see nothing sensible but partiality.Wooped their as.ses? Really? But you were all crying wolf here then. I thought y'all said Isreal was oppressing Palestine? How did they woop their a$$? I am a Christian but at a point I felt sorry for Palestine because it wasn't a war at all. Do you still remember the ratio of fatalities? You sound more like the Al-Qaeda fighters that will celebrate the destruction of one armoured carreir and call it victory, after loosing 100 fighters. Why is it that these terrorist countries can sacrifice their 100 to kill 10 Jews and then they'll celebrate? Does that not tell you how they value their lives compared to their sworn enemy. |
lacasa: You dnt кnoω the military might of Iran dats y u can say such.Lol! You have been watching too much Aljazeera and Iranian sponsored press news. If what you have written is true, what is Iran waitning for? They should strike! |
CGKing: I've used an android tab ( samsung note 2), a blackberry smart phone ( blackberry curve 5 touch screen) and I just got an iphone. Nothing, NOTHING in this world is like an iPhone. Apple really sat down on each function or feature to perfect it. Unlike the bb, they just wanted to release a smartphone while they majored on sending emails as though that iis all we do with a smart phone. I've also used a HTC.Iphone is bad but Androids are badder. Issues with iphone: 1. They are sill selfish with screen space. Everybody is becoming bolder and bigger, the neeed for larger screens. 2. The fact that you still can't just share content with your other devices is a just too behind. 3. No expandable memory. 4. Overpriced! 5. No removable battery! 6. Heard of rooting n overclocking in android?! Etc, etc |
Brand_new: Has anyone noticed how long your have to Tap most Android screens before it responds? Even the storm I used 2 years ago did better. You sure have not used an android high spec phone. I own and use a bb n an android, everything u mentioned here r the issues I have with my bb not the android. An app/menu/button can be selected/clicked on my android without actually touching the screen. The blackberry messenger is the only thing keeping people there but whatsapp is becoming very popular. One thing you should know is that more than 80% bb users in Nigeria use the fairly used phones shipped from asia n europe. One thing my android has helped me do is to stop subscription I had to do on my bb(3000) and laptop(2500). Now I can subscribe on one device and use it as my internet hub, connecting up to 10 devices if I choose to. Try that with your bb! |
BlackBerry 10 Launch: Everything You Need To Know Well, here goes. RIM(Now BLACKBERRY) is announcing its new BlackBerry 10 OS and hardware today. This could be the launch that gets RIM back in the game for smartphones. Or it could be the last time BlackBerry is relevant. It's a big moment. We'll be covering everything about BB10 and the new hardware right here, in one place. Some of what RIM will show today has been seen in demos and previews and leaked shots, but there will be plenty of new stuff to chew on as well. RIM has a lot to prove today. Some of the things we expect to see are details about the new Z10 phone like pricing and carrier availability, news about the state of the BB10 app store, a bunch of nerdy IT talk about how the new OS will fit into existing systems, and maybe some news about the forthcoming Qwerty models. Maybe a few features of the OS that haven't been shown off yet, too. We're ready to be surprised, though, since this is such an important event for RIM, and it might have a few tricks up its sleeve. The event started at 10AM EST, and we'll be updating this post live throughout the presentation. (We just had to get through 20 minutes of commercials and cheerleading about BlackBerry.) It's All BlackBerry Now The first major announcement is a big one: RIM is now BlackBerry. It's changed its name to make it one brand. Thorsten Heins, the BlackBerry CEO, has been talking about how totally rebuilt the whole company has been over the course of BB10's buildup. Hardware The new BB phones are called the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10. We're updating with details as we have them. The Z10 has a 4.2 inch 1280 x 768 356PPI screen (same resolution as the Lumia 920), a textured back, comes in black and white, and it looks a lot like the renders that we've seen to this point. It's got a 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (microSD storage up to a 32GB card), NFC, and LTE. The camera is 8MP and shoots at 1080p, but those are standard specs and the quality of one 8MP camera phone to another varies wildly. Front-facing is a 2MP with video capabilities. Thorsten Heins also said that to avoid fragmentation, the resolutions of the Z10 and Q10 would not be changed going forward. All BlackBerry phones for the foreseeable future will have the same two resolutions. Release dates will be in the "middle of" March for us (due to carrier testing, which is more stringent in the US), but Canada will get the phones on February 5. The UK gets it tomorrow. The Q10 has a physical Qwerty keyboard. It's got a 3.1-inch 330PPI screen and a similar design to the Z10. Details are scant, but Throsten says to expect it in April. Software We've moved into the software demo now, and BB is showing the new BlackBerry Flow, which is more or less like Éxpose, but it resizes the content to make it make sense as you're using it—no tiny type in the windows. You can also use the Hub feature, which is like a superpowered Notification Center, by just swiping from the left side of the screen to reveal everything you've done recently or any new messages. BB is really focusing on how easy it is to use one-handed. The integrated sharing and social networks looks really good. Tweets and LinkedIn (which was not shown in the demos we saw, but is a natural fit) and Facebook messages show up right in BB Hub, without going into an app or browser. Profiles in your contacts pull information so that you've got social network connections, contact info, work information, and times you've had calendar events together. And you can do all this from the Hub. It's the kind of integrated, first party support that everyone's trying to nail right now, and BlackBerry 10's looks really promising. Typing Typing on BlackBerry phones is a hugely important part of the experience, and the swipe-to-autocomplete/predict is a much more intuitive way to predict words than putting them in the bar above the keyboard. You can also switch the predictions between three separate languages at a time (from a larger selection). And a big feature is that you can swipe to the left to delete a whole word, and swipe down to access punctuation, which is actually an awesome and great feature. BlackBerry Balance A big feature of BB10 is the ability to have a Work and Personal account. You just swipe down to oggle between the two profiles. Your work account can be controlled by your IT manager, who can push apps or updates to it or even wipe it, without affecting any of your personal data. The store accounts and other stuff like BlackBerry flow are tied together in a smart way that doesn't leave content you want stranded if you want it. BBM BBM is a hugely important part of BlackBerry's experience, and the big announcement is that it's getting video calling (in the presumed absence of a Skype app Nope! Skype's on BB10.). But the more interesting detail here is screen sharing, which lets you share your whole phone's screen with someone you're video chatting with. This could be good for showing pictures to friends or showing your mom how to do something, but also for presentations on the business end. BlackBerry Remember Remember is a whole new app that lets you save basically anything to it. Web pages, emails, documents, etc., can all be saved with notes, due dates, and voice notes. It's basically an Instapaper for everything on your phone. In fact, Evernote is actually integrated too. We're not sure if the webpages will be stored offline, but even if it isn't, the emails and documents alone being first party is hugely encouraging. Camera The big thing BB is pushing about its camera is that it's using time shift to capture images 10 miliseconds both before and after you take the photo. The camera recognizes faces, and lets you pick out the best version of your fiends' faces. It's nice, but there are other options out there for this on competitors phones, and have been for a while. The picture editor is fairly advanced for in-app phone software. You can add filters by swiping, and crop using a simple grid tool that you can drag and rotate using gestures. BlackBerry Story Maker Story Maker is an app that lets you edit together a video consisting of photos and videos you've taken, set to music. Think a BlackBerry version of iMovie that lets you easily access all your media. Seems neat, but probably won't be used very often. BlackBerry World Apps BB10 is launching with 70,000 apps, which is a pretty good number for a new store, but the news here is that there are some confirmations of big apps that were in the air: Skype, Amazon, WhatsApp, and SAP. Skype is the big deal there, since it was the holdup for a lot of people coming onto BB10 SOURCE |
ciphoenix: hmmm. lt's no longer RIM na abi?Yes, its now Blackberry. |
vicoloni: its bullshit! i cant tolerate bad spelling or is it by force to say something?I thought 'its' should be 'it's', 'bad spelling' should be 'wrong spelling', 'say something' should be 'comment'! Just thinking aloud... |
justwise: Reading some of the posts here is like listening to jailed criminals and their loved ones after court case.Thank you so much. I restrained my self from replying/posting until I saw your post. Reading through the post makes me ashamed and sadly, know that we are on a very looooooonnnng thing in Nigeria. See them defending criminals, forgetting its the same people that will become PDP, ACN, CPC politicians tomorrow. Still, these same folks are demanding for justice for theiving politicians. THEIVING POLITICIANS are Yahoo boys in high political places! If they were caught in their "small beginnings" like these crooks, we would not be here crying. And shame on those who say they are trying to survive! No! They are trying to create/live the same FALSE LIVES like the theives called politicians today! |
Hello Guys, I am opening this thread for discussion regarding the BlackBerry Internet Service. RIM has many unique features which is keeping us on board from switching to other brands, one of them is the BlackBerry Internet Service the mother of BBM, Email and everything pretty in BlackBerry. As we see the PlayBook OS, soon the PlayBook 4G & 3G+ also BlackBerry 10. RIM futures is coming with non exciting features. Yes QNX rocks and does what we all are dreaming of. But if no BIS we will be losing the BlackBerry branding! Heard from many sources that RIM decided to stop BIS because it is "limited" I am sorry RIM. BIS is not limited due to it's structure it's you RIM limiting it. Below are some limitations in BIS and. Proof of why RIM is blocking it not limitations in the system of BIS. Who says BIS can't upload, Yes it can but RIM is blocking it, Proof: You can upload videos to Youtube of file sizes up to 1.99GB. You were able to upload to Megaupload using PlayBook over Bridge RIM allows uploads to youtube, but refuses any other site, why Megaupload worked? Because it used Flash Uploader because RIM can't control flash. BIS can't view Youtube videos? With BB10 having Flash & HTML5 it can. BIS can't download over 1.99GB? It can just the Java platform limiting it RIM can't get PUSH to work on BB10? They don't need it they can use Active Sync normally & allow POP3 to pass, Proof: Run PlayBook over Bridge. It's email will work fine. RIM can't maintain BIS NOC due to costs.. Sorry RIM but that's your problem go blame who was the reason of your loss and this year's outage not us. Just to let you know RIM, I am Egyptian. In Egypt people don't get paid at high rates, there are many cheap Nokia phones around the only reason they are considering BlackBerry is it having Social only plans that come with unlimited BBM, Twitter, Facebook, Windows Live, Linkedin, etc. If BIS is getting removed from BB10 I am sorry RIM I won't be buying your product and will consider other phones and keep my BB 9900 for BBM. Michaeljones36: I don't know enough about Buhari to comment, but I do know enough about Fashola to know he is one of the most dedicated politicians in Nigeria. Eko Atlantic project is a perfect example to look at. The project costs billions of dollars, zero dollars is coming from the government, the project was started to protect Lagos from flooding and global warming for future generations, it was started by the previous government and has been continued for the past 5-6 years without stopping once. Not to mention it is a HUGE development project that will build a new area of Lagos in the middle of the ocean.I do not think Fashola is a bad governor, but I live in Lagos; Fashola is the most hyped governor in Nigeria. He has made blunders that if it was GEJ, ACN and their supporters would have rained insults as it has become a trade mark. Moreso, your idea that Fashola is the only working governor is highly faulty. How many states have you visited? Many other states can boast of things done by their governors, past and present. I have being to Enugu, Imo, Edo and some other states. To compare Lagos with other states is the biggest mistake people make. Lagos (before Fashola or Tinubu) has being a self sustaining state. Don't forget it was the capital of Nigeria. I dare say, If Lagos is to stop collecting allocations from FG, it can still thrive if run by any competent person. I will not take everything from Fashola as he has done well in some areas. But the "greatest" challenge in Lagos IMO is housing and infrastructure. The said Eko Atlantic project, though commendable, is for the rich! Finally, In Nigeria, taking sides is a big problem, where people will support theirs even when they are clearly not doing it. It is a problem in all parties, PDP, ACN, CPC etc. |
I am a neutral person. I don't think GEJ or PDP is doing well at all, but I feel ACN/CPC are not different. They are worse if anything. I laugh when I see people come here and call people who support GEJ/PDP 40 laptop squad etc. Actually, from a neutral ground (as i have observed for over a year), its the CPC/ACN supporters here on nairaland that are the most gullible folks. They sound more unreasonable to me. More like what they tag people, laptop squad! They seem not to believe or agree with anything pro-GEJ even when its good, but agree with anything anti-GEJ, true or false, good or bad. They have a 'skewed' explanation for anything ACN/CPC/Fashola/Buhari/ElRufai, good or bad! It is because of these same folks Nigeria will remain under the rule of PDP for a long time! And I'm sad about it! Take down pro ACN/CPC usernames and check their comments with pro-ACN policies/comments even when its obviously bad, and check their comments with on pro-PDP/GEJ policies/comment even when its obviously good. And before the pro-GEJ/PDP fellas start celebrating, you are guilty as well! Nigeria will not change if we cannot stop taking sides! |
solomon111: That is your own way of seeing it.You should know that came from an anti-GEJ band-wagoner! |
I know a die hard BB babe that just dumped BB for galaxy. When she did, I knew BB was gone? WhatsApp is slowly but gradually replacing bbm which has been a selling force for BB. The only other strength is data but its becoming cheaper wit every network now. |
flinspiero: Once again torres saved chelsea,u guys should stop bashing dis guyonce AGAIN? which other time, pray tell, I'm waiting...... ![]() |
freecocoa: I apologize if you think I was rude. The truth is that I learnt how to pound growing up and its same for my girl. I just have this kind of mentality that if there's an easier way to do a task then adopt it. The issue is that every body grew up differently. I am proud when I tell people I can cook well. This is because in my house when growing up, it was competition. |
Those who are blaming Mikel for the loss probably were here sometime back shouting the name of Messi as god of football. they forget that Messi loss the penalty that cost them the champion's league. Oh, yeah, he was unlucky or Chelsea was just lucky! |
