Funny thing is the people who dont care were patient enough to read through the piece ....Waste of a minute....the title gave away the stupidity of the article |
Okay, posted the info last year....so no longer available. Besides no longer work for the company.... |
U dont need any dormiciliary account. Any Mastercard/VISA card from a Nigerian bank should be fine....Zenith works without any problem. Paying for the exam is as easy as buying a game on iTunes store or a book from amazon. |
Jeez! I'm amazed that a thread whose content(s) fail to add value to this forum makes it to the front page...NL just isn't the same as it was years ago... |

What you guys are expressing is self-pity for the man. The questions asked were not out of the ordinary and a well-read gentleman having attained the rank of State Commandant should have done justice to all the questions and more but he displayed what I like to call Unrepentant Incompetence that is typical of public institutions today. Recruitment and promotion exercises have no relationship wit merit but are based on who you know and which part of the country you come from. Anyway, now only the brave would show up on Channels TV interviews from now on. NTA would never reveal the incompentence since they are ass lickers as the English call it... |
sunboy: @ fsb; there is need for yellow card. ABC always charge extra 1k for first timer and 1k if you do not have yellow card, you may not know bt ABC scale you thru. That's one reason why I enjoyedd my trip to Ghana wit dem back in 2010, no custom troubles.nice one as regards d yellow card. i went to the ABC terminal in lagos wit my virgin passport and my yellow card so I ended up paying just 1k or so...i dont really remember. Its better to have one since getting one is quite easy... |
I am not sure of going by air but no one asked for a yellow card during my trip. My advice though would be to get a recent one for your trip to avoid any undue embarrasment by our agencies at d airport |
Sir Kay: @ fsb,Dear Sir Kay, I was just going through my profile and remembered this post. Thanks for all d helpful advice. 1. I traveled to Ghana back in March 2012 and went by ABC transport (got a return ticket for under 20,000naira) 2. I guess the first-timers sight-seeing made me lose track of time. We left Lagos terminal around 8am and got into Accra terminal at night (probably a little after 8pm) 3. I stayed at Ampax Hotel (they actually sent someone to come to ABC terminal to pick me up to the hotel since I didn't know my way around town even though I paid the cab fare of about 5GHC) 4. The hotel was really budget (30USD/Night) but it suited my purpose for the couple of days I intended to be in Ghana (got into Ghana on a Saturday and left the very next Tuesday). 5. Zenith Bank really made my stay very hassle free. The only exchange I needed to do was at the ghananian border (to get an MTN sim pack and small change). I was able to use my ATM card directly to withdraw money from my Naira account. 6. Trip back to Nigeria was great until we got back into Nigeria. The hopelessness and time wasting began at Seme border and up till we got into ABC terminal. We left around 9am or so and got to ABC terminal at 1am the following day. 7. My general advice is if you are not pressed for time or cash, just go to Ghana by Air. You'll save yourself the hassle. Thankfully, I passed the exams I went for. |
IT opportunity still available. Please could you read the requirement carefully? Only those currently studying Microbiology or Medical Laboratory Science need apply. |
Could we make professional recommendations? There are many drugs active against MRSA but one cant sit down and say go and buy such and such. poster, let ur friends' doctors make d best choice based on the result of the sensitivity of the MRSA culture... I hope d moderator can delete stupid posts about garlic.... |
Dear Poster, very few microbiology laboratories in Nigeria can tentatively say that MRSA was what was responsible for an infection. I will assume that the test results are accurate. Having said that there are a few specific drugs out there to treat MRSA related infections including linezolid and dalfopristin. If the labs were done accurately, they would have carried out a sensitivity after d culture. This tells you what drugs the organism is sensitive to or resistant against. I had a patient recently with a MRSA infection that was sensitive to linezolid. I called several pharmacies and pharmacists but most didnt even know there was such a drug. Eventually I called d brand manager of a local drug company with an indian link (I do have a pack of linezolid - not for sale not purchased locally so I knew who to call). Eventually I was told the drug was not yet approved by NAFDAC for distribution in Nigeria. My client eventually had to order supplies from UAE via a friend that was travelling in. So this may be the only option for your friend. By d way, my patient did absolutely well on linezolid tablets. Best of luck |
An organization is in need of IT students with a background in Microbiology, or Medical Laboratory Science. Site: Abuja Number: 3 Please if interested, respond by replying to this thread including your phone number and your current major. Kind Regards, |
The IGP has done quite well as regards his decision...but I think aside stationing men of Fed Highway Patrol on interstate routes, the police should also liase wit the Nigerian Army probably wit providing major military check points on interstate routes. Aside curbing robbery, kidnapping and Boko Haram pple, the presence of soldiers will provide travellers wit a better sense of security. Another issue the IGP should look into in my opinion is the entry requirements into the NPF. I mean its completely unwise to entrust loaded rifles to secondary school holders. Lets b sincere, secondary school education isnt what it used to be in the past in terms of quality. If the police service is to improve, then the entry requirements should be stepped up from secondary school to a tertiary level education. The military has gone professional and they are better for it. If your IQ isnt high enough to put you through ond, hnd or bsc, then how can u competently handle a crime investigation? |
sorry for errors, had issues editing text from mobile browser, |
Nigerians should stop complaining about GEJ or the PDP government cos they were the same people screaming that they would rather die than have Buhari become president. In my opinion, all this people(PDP) are the same - they just have different faces. Some decisions are good, others are bad while the worst are those decisions taken not in the interest of the nation. Why on earth would any country wanna open an office for the World Bank to vet all Federal government contracts. Its a stupid decision that doesnt serve the interest of the nation. I dont know when politicians would realizr that this world bank and the rest dont give a damn about your economy. I want to believe President GEJ isnt this naive, maybe he is surrounded by pot-smoking advisers, He has consistently shown his inability to manage the economy of the nation because, ultimately, he steers the ship while NOIweala just provide guidance based on their knowledge and expertise. There are just too many issues, and overt lies. Has anyone seen the 1600 buses that were just off the coast of Nigeria several weeks ago? Nobody seems to know why Mr Sokoto was arrested in a governor's lodge and everyone seems to be smiling, These issues are the ones i even remember from reading my twitter feeds, When are we goin to realise that this people are there for themselves and not for you or me, People are suffering everyday but some are so intellectually deficient and ethnically or religious biased that they will forever lose sight of the big picture which lies in the question, who can move this country forward? This is food for thought, |
@Sir kay, thanks so much for d info, will follow all d advise, |
lmao @ the hw much money u carry? Nawa o, |
@fateavon4u u're right but the thing i'm guessing that wit fuel @ 100/ltr, a return ticket by luxurious bus eg. ABC might b close to 20k for a trip that is around 10hrs by road comparec to 30k for a return ticket by aero (low fare price) for a 1hr flight, Do u knw anytin as regards airport immigration, do i hav to pay money either @ mmai or ghana airport for entry/exit ? |
Nawa o, only God would save us in this country because whether we like it or not, this path of violence is a ticking time bomb and when christians cannot take it any longer, the end result would be a civil war, lets pray it doesnt come to that because millions would be killed as a result of that. The cannibalism story unfortunately happened in plateau state, cant confirm d exact location but it neva really hit the headlines back then, |
@sir kay thanks a lot for the information. Wld be glad if any other nairalanders would share their experience with immigration officers @ mmai enroute ghana using a virgin ecowas passport, tnx |
@sodah if u need information on jobs in ghana, why dont you open a new thread or search d forum as a whole. It is utterly rude and improper to post your request here, the thread would help others who need help with repect to the topic of the thread, this thread is not in anyway related to the ease of getring a job in ghana or elsewhere, |
Reliable source: one explosion occured at police headquaters, another unconfirmed explosion in d vicinity of government house kano. A third explosion along france road, kano, exact point uncertain. |
thanks a lot for ur reply, i read about immigration extortion for new ecowas passport but i'm not sure if dat happens at d airport, or not. Just didnt want any surprises since i'll b travellin on a budget, |
dear nairalands, i would be travelling to ghana in two months time for about 4days at d most, dis would be my first time travelling abroad and i would apprecizte information as regarding, immigration at d airport (i hav a new ecowas passport), finance issues (do i go wit us dollars cash in hand or atm), cost of average hotels in accra and and any other impt info, btw, wot r d call rates if i decide to use my naija registerec glo simcard on d glo ntwk in ghana? Would really appreciate info frm any nairalander who has been thru same, |
Hey, is d white iphone4 still available? Let's discuss |
60k, will buy today if interested, |
Nawa o, not dis argument again, |
The way I understand it, it was President OBJ who created the National Security Organization in 1976 with a responsibility of overseeing domestic and foreign intelligence. President IBB's decree 19 broke down the NSO into 3 separate agencies: National Intelligence Agency - tasked with foreign intelligence and counterintelligence State Security Service - tasked with domestic intelligence Defence Intelligence Agency - tasked with military intelligence I think the Boko Haram Issue remains a domestic issue and a problem for d SS and not the NIA but there obviously would b interagency coop if the need arises. My opinion anyway, |
@gongaza I think I concur with your analysis of issues. OBJ in power = Sharia; GEJ in power = Disgruntled elements begin to sponsor terrorists to destabilize govt. @Abujajabir In a post on another thread, you wrote "Boko haram is an organization dat is tired of d injustice goin on in dis country nd d corruption. Dats y dey r tryin 2 fyt d govt. Many fools think dey re afta christians only wich is absolutely wrong infact its muslims dey hav been killin amng d security operatives. Mend re jst thugs whom re jealous of hausas coming in2 d south to work in the oil industries dats y dey strtd terrorizin d region" 1. I don't think I have ever head Boko Haram openly state that their purpose is fighting injustice going on in the country. So that would clearly be your assertion as to their motive. 2. "Many fools think dey re afta christians only wich is absolutely wrong infact its muslims dey hav been killin amng d security operatives" - I CLEARLY DON'T AGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT, AT LEAST NOT ANYMORE. (Case in Point: Police HQ Bombing; UN Bombing) 3. "Mend re jst thugs whom re jealous of hausas coming in2 d south to work in the oil industries dats y dey strtd terrorizin d region" This is clearly the most ABSURD statement I have ever read. I cant believe you possibly wrote this last part. Personally, many of us are just hypocrites in this country (referring to religious fanatics - both Christian and Muslim). I do hope that one day we can put our religious differences aside, and move this nation forward for the good of every Nigerian regardless of religion. |
@Poster Thanks for the software. Will be unlocking this modem , switching to Glo,
|
, On the above issue, I believe the best solution is secession of the south from the north. Since the discovery of oil, the north has remained contributed little economically or otherwise to the entity called nigeria, well, except for population, The earlier secession occurs, the better for us all. Boko Haram successfully detonated a bomb at the NPF HQ yesterday and in theory, they have access to thousands of suicide bombers (almajiris). For how long will southern oil fund the northern liability? In the north, students get paid to go to school. Last I heard, Jigawa paid medical students 60,000 per month from 400level. I'm not sure of the current rate but it should have risen, meanwhile, children in Bonny, Brass and Finima run around in nothing but dirty pants, Anyway, in my opinion, secession is the solution. Enough of islamic fundamentalism, suicide bombers and the threat of bombs, funding of an economically unviable region and their politicians who feel it is their birth right to rule those who actually own the wealth of the nation. Power to the People! |
