Nothing wrong with Germany offering to train Nigerian policemen. We can all agree our policemen can benefit from 21st century policing methods as against the antiquated shoot-first and ask questions later policing they are known for. The only problem for me would be the need to sponsor 30,000 Nigerians to live in Germany for several months. This move will benefit the german economy. Definitely cheaper for us to bring few german instructors to conduct the training locally. |
The failure of past administrations has created this problem. If we had working refineries then we wont need to pay subsidy to private companies. Unfortunately, the whole subsidy program has become too expensive. In a country where people have to also buy mostly petrol for their generators; this move means further hardship for the working class. Nigeria and complex problems we create for ourselves. |
Its amazing how people decide to view every single issue through the lens of ethnicity and tribalism. I do hope he is innocent of any charges. If he is guilty then i also hope the law takes its proper course. |
Academicwizman:Interesting, I have learnt something new. |
Academicwizman:Thanks a lot for explaining this especially interbank settlement. There is so much physical cash that gets moved around between bank branches, between different banks and between banks and CBN. The huge cost of this can be eliminated. |
Idamond:This is one way to look at it. There are a few advantages to moving away from physical cash. The first is that you eliminate huge cost of producing and maintaining paper currency. The polymer notes cost more to maintain than the previous paper notes and they used to be imported from somewhere; not sure if they are now produced by NSPMN. Second is financial inclusion. Third i can think of is security. If everyone was doing e-naira, it becomes easy to trace all financial transactions especially illicit ones. You cant hide e-naira inside soak-away or under mattress |
Super1759:Why must Nigerians abuse each other when people dont agree with their opinion? The enaira is not designed to be a cryptocurrency. Its just a way of doing away with paper currency and hopefully greater financial inclusion. Btw, the government of a country has the power to make anything legal tender and they have done so with the electronic naira. |
This is how propanganda starts…where is the evidence Osinbanjo was snubbed. Where is the evidence the man wants to run for VP? |
Sub-saharan Africa is in serious trouble. Bad leadership everywhere you go. |
SpaceAngel:There are really troubling responses on this thread. I dont know if its the economy, poverty, wickedness, ignorance, the fact that people dont care about anyone but themselves, Schadenfreude or a little bit of everything. |
Please go to a hospital. Not sure how nairalanders can help you with your symptoms |
Sorry about your loss. Step 1: visit icloud.com and log in using your apple ID Step 2: Click on Find my iphone. This page lists all your apple devices Step 3: Click on the particular device you want to find then hit the lost mode button. Once you have done this, the device cannot be used by anyone else. The only option would be for the thief and his friends to use the device for parts. |
What is the point of CBN issuing licenses to BDC operators in the first place? I wonder if it wont have made sense for people to buy directly from banks and end this black market business. |
Dont we have competent Nigerians that can do this? What stops another country from using that opportunity as a backdoor for espionage activities? |
Just wondering when all our smart naija boys will start designing IT systems that can solve our daily challenges. Can we use aerial mapping, climate data to map grazing ranches that will help the pasturalists while also minimizing entry into farmlands? What IT systems can help support our military forces on the ground to minimise casualties and causing maximal damage to the terrorists ? I look forward to a day when we can start having seriously productive conversations on this platform. |
Nairaland, as usual...i have had a few laughs reading a few comments from people who are not health workers but claim to understand the healthcare system both within Nigeria and around the world and in turn misleading a lot of people which is quite sad. Please let us take some time to do our own research with information freely available on the internet before making statements that are clearly incorrect. Unfortunately, most people in Nigeria and indeed nairaland, cannot afford excellent private healthcare in Nigeria or even travel abroad for treatment but wont condemn the government for any actions that could further promote emigration of health workers to countries that are ready to grab them (better pay, safe and better working conditions). Some people have already claimed we have enough to dash other countries, time will tel if this is true or not. We have all forgotten that in the end when there are no doctors, nurses, physiotherapists or pharmacists left, the rich ones will travel abroad for treatment while the poor will have no alternatives. |
Oga Larwin, How can I reach you? Do you have a WhatsApp number? |
murphyibiam15:My brother...see the way people are arguing with vigour when they think they have all the information available to them. Like I said earlier there was no need for proof. Some people here aren’t in the U.K., don’t know NES, don’t know anyone directly affected etc. |
Nairaland! I wonder why people are drinking panadol for other people’s headache. If you believe they had special waivers organised by their employers such that their vignettes would be stamped in their passports on arrival on a chartered aircraft, unfortunately there were communication challenges between concerned parties all well and good. If you believe the doctors woke up confused, entered bus to airport to look for next available plane to leave the country, and were sent back home by immigration all well and good. There’s no point asking for proof as you don’t have to believe. |
Interesting. Thank you guys for all the information. Had actually thought the guy was genuine till I read the comments and did some search on my own. I look forward to the day Nigerians can acknowledge their mistake, learn and move on without name calling. Some of the people we abuse on this forum, if you meet them in real lifez fear no go allow you even greet them... |
There is something definitely wrong with the Nigerian society reading several posts on this thread. Stuff like this happens around the world but what doesn't happen is people not being sympathetic about this. It's not about whether Davido saw it and did nothing. In Nigeria, people are only sympathetic to the plight of others when stuff happens to those close to them. Someone shared a video about a rock artist sighting such and expressing his disgust at it. If people here can't do same and stand for what is right in society, then why should we hope for better leaders when it seems most Nigerians are just as bad as the leadership. #NigeriansChange |
So many trolls. Please those who can help should do so and those who can't should look and pass. |
Lmao. All this board members.... The only time people gang up against oga in government is when they don't see road to chop. This man has at several times raised alarm at how the NHIS pays HMOs money upfront for Nigerians to receive care and yet people are not receiving value on it. So many other concerns...no one is addressing those concerns. They are accusing him of corruption like it's easy to be brazenly corrupt at that level these days. |
Dear Doctors, I have been trying to get my certificate of full registration from MDCN for a while now and they have been telling me they cannot find my file. Please has anyone experienced this sort of issue in the past and how to go about it? Thanks |
The death of the young lady is sad but their anger is being channeled to the wrong party. Lawyers and defendants should have sort proper education before filing law suit. |
We need more of these across science, technology, engineering and mathematics to move the country forward. Our publicly owned schools need to start doing more innovation and less strike action. |
Nairaland isn't what it was when it first started. Every conversation is now centred around tribalism and moderators are less concerned. |
@Op You do not have a right to post such a picture on the internet. These issues are really sensitive. In as much as your friend's partner did not inform her of his status for any number of reasons, that is a matter between them. For your own good, be aware there are now anti-stigma and discrimination laws in Nigeria. See excerpt below: Penalty for non-compliance. 23. Subject to the provisions of this Act relating to other offences, any person or institution, who contravenes any of the provisions of this Act commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine of not less than N500,000 for individuals and N2,000,000 for organizations, or imprisonment for a period of not less than one year or to both such fine and imprisonment but in the case of an organization, the head or representatives of the board of the organization shall be held liable. Variations of this federal Act enacted in different states. |
Is there any defect? Battery etc... |
Bro, please need a replacement battery for Hp Dv4 notebook. How much does it cost? Can u deliver to Akure? |
This is beyong wickedness for God's sake. How does one go from receiving goods to killing delivery man? Kudos to the Nigerian Police. |
