At least, you are not trying to claim someone on this thread. I am happy PhysicsMSTP gave you a quick smack-down because before you know it, you'd start claiming Edo people as Ibo.

PS: Ever wonder why no oone wants to associate with you and your people?

Here's my own

- Saying Okoro is not an Igbo name without providing the source of the name is confusing, especially with the massive amount of influence of the Igbo descendants in Sierra Leone, (Ibo Unions, Isuama language etc)
- Not all Creole people identify as Oku just because you do.
- There are Igbo descendants in Freetown and other parts of the country, just like you have Hausa and Yoruba descendants. No one claimed there's an "Igbo tribe" in Freetown, you just implied that.
- I doubt somebody will name themselves after a vegetable, unless there are people also called Egusi, Ukasi, jigbor, and Akpu.
The thread has been fun so far, well, except for your belligerent attitude. Cant we have some peace. Have you ever been to SL, she is from there, take it as is and move on.

Why must you bring your belligerent attitude to everywhere you go. NL is not about Igbos alone you know

Quit your childish attitude and go look for other people to claim, will ya?

So far this thread has been educational: we now know that there are no Igbo tribes in SL, contrary to what some Igbo revisionists might want to have us
believe.

If you cant enjoy this thread without fighting, please go do a somersault on the Third Mainland Bridge.

Anuofia you and your people! Too much claim claim. . . haba

1. Amaechi is Igbo, so I would disagree with some of what you wrote regarding popularity. Also, you have to keep in mind the politics of recent decades. After the death of the colossus of Zik, there was a kind of vacuum of nationally prominent Igbo politicians except for Ekwueme, so this lack of exposure is really just a dearth of other Igbo politicians who have been able to build huge alliances and gain admiration in other parts of the country.
2. I would have to agree with your statement of "NO!" with regard to Ngige and that was why I asked. It was completely rhetorical. I don't think Ribadu and his people thought this one through. Or maybe they couldn't get a better person from the southeast.
What about the Oyi of Oyi. At his height, I thought he was more electable than Ekwueme. Well loved in the North too, unlike Ekwueme

Yes you are an Ibo hater Kobo

You hate Ibos, Hausas and Yorubas

The only people you like are Whites. Thats is why you have refused to come back to Nigeria to help out. Instead all you do is criticize hard working and honest Yoruba.

Yes, You hate Ibo. and, God will not forgive you for that

Michelle Obama is Igbo as well as Obama.
Anyway, one persons opinion does not change that of the thousands of Krio people who are prod of their Igbo ancestors.
"As recently as during the 1970s, some members of the Sierra Leone creole community continued to identify themselves as Igbo."

Come and write nonsense again.
Dont tell me you believe that article?

It seems you are bent on claiming other people as your own. The article has no historical backup and it is replete with falsehood.

If that helps you psychologically, I can understand. Now dont go crazy on me ok?

PS: It really sucks to be you. Like I said, Hilary Clinton, I once heard, has some Igbo origin

The Okoro in Christopher Okoro Cole's name probably is because he had Igbo ancestry.

However, Okoro is not an exclusively Igbo name, just as Ojo is not an exclusively Yoruba name, though we often assume otherwise.

http://www.dawodu.net/okoro.htm
Another resounding blow to the already depressed claimappola spirit of the Igbos.

This is another series of irresponsible claims dotting the surface of nairaland. The fact remains that Lady Kofo Ademola, the daughter of Barrister Eric Moore and wife of Sir Adetokumbo Ademola had not gained admission when Zik obtained his first degree.

As of the Barrister Christopher Alexander Sapara-Williams, I must admit he was another born in Free-town, Sierra Leone of liberated slave parentage who claimed Yoruba.

These numerous claims of Yoruba have something to with Lagos as the British colony. In fact, most of the returnees were encouraged to visit Lagos by the Governor-General of the colony.
Are you crazy?

His brother was one of the first medical doctors in Nigeria and Yes, they both have real Yoruba names

Check your facts, good for nothing old man

That is a brief history of the first few Nigerian doctors, most of them had traceable history to Yorubaland

firstly who told u igbos hate Yorubas? igbos have disagreement with Yorubas but nt hatred.
then the commissioner issue, so a group that has been said to constitutes a good 35% of the economic strength of lagos, > 30 % of the population having only one or two commissioners is fair? i think not

btw, even in zamfara there is an igbo commissioner there.
I thought it was 90%

The last time I checked it was 95%, but since the emergence of the OPC, the number, I heard, has been pegged to 90%.
