Here's my own

- Saying Okoro is not an Igbo name without providing the source of the name is confusing, especially with the massive amount of influence of the Igbo descendants in Sierra Leone, (Ibo Unions, Isuama language etc)
- Not all Creole people identify as Oku just because you do.
- There are Igbo descendants in Freetown and other parts of the country, just like you have Hausa and Yoruba descendants. No one claimed there's an "Igbo tribe" in Freetown, you just implied that.
- I doubt somebody will name themselves after a vegetable, unless there are people also called Egusi, Ukasi, jigbor, and Akpu.

1. Amaechi is Igbo, so I would disagree with some of what you wrote regarding popularity. Also, you have to keep in mind the politics of recent decades. After the death of the colossus of Zik,[b] there was a kind of vacuum of nationally prominent Igbo politicians except for Ekwueme, [/b]so this lack of exposure is really just a dearth of other Igbo politicians who have been able to build huge alliances and gain admiration in other parts of the country.
2. I would have to agree with your statement of "NO!" with regard to Ngige and that was why I asked. It was completely rhetorical. I don't think Ribadu and his people thought this one through. Or maybe they couldn't get a better person from the southeast.

Okoro is also a local name for okra in krio o it just occurred to me

The Okoro in Christopher Okoro Cole's name probably is because he had Igbo ancestry.

However, Okoro is not an exclusively Igbo name, just as Ojo is not an exclusively Yoruba name, though we often assume otherwise.

As of the Barrister Christopher Alexander Sapara-Williams, I must admit he was another born in Free-town, Sierra Leone of liberated slave parentage who claimed Yoruba.

These numerous claims of Yoruba have something to with Lagos as the British colony. In fact, most of the returnees were encouraged to visit Lagos by the Governor-General of the colony.

then the commissioner issue, so a group that has been said to constitutes a good 35% of the economic strength of lagos, > 30 % of the population having only one or two commissioners is fair? i think not

btw, even in zamfara there is an igbo commissioner there.
