plaetton:
Recently visited some parts of the North. Northern Nigeria has incredible potentials.
If only the people can start demanding more from their elites rather than an over- reliance on federal largess.

Ahmadu Bello erred when he insisted and weened Northern elites to rely exclusively on the army and the federal government as the only means of exerting and reaping their potentials in Nigeria.

Perhaps a new generation such as yourself can pass the massage along for Northerners to aspire beyond what the rapacious elites offer them.
You are grossly misinformed regarding the bolded. Sir Ahmadu Bello, on the contrary, advocated for education and supported girl child education in particular, established the largest University in West Africa, and spearheaded the establishment of dozens of farms, factories, tanneries etc. in the North (which were mismanaged by subsequent military administrations), which is part of why he is revered as a great leader.

The dominance of the military and political system is supposed to be a plus, and at no time were they postulated as the only means of prosperity as you wrongly averred.

clown hear me!... I read d article n tho he has a point but development n commitment to it is a matter of mindset n northerners rarely have that
This comment just oozes daftness all over. This is why I'm more convinced you haven't been in the North, or you have only resided or visited the rural north as a result of your circumstances. The proof that you were too lazy or lacked the capacity to read and comprehend the post, lies in the truism that the fact that the OP was referring to the near future escaped you.

Which northern state capital is not more developed than that of the SE/SW at present? Which region has the best public infrastructure? What the author was referring to was economic prosperity. Quit spewing your ignorance and feed your eyes on this thread...

While some people were waiting for Jonathan to build a second Niger bridge....

Kano had built the longest fly over bridge in West Africa.

By the time BH and the criminal herdsmen are contained, the plans to fully exploit and mechanize agriculture and solid minerals are implemented, northern Nigeria will surely be on its way to economic prosperity.

Even at present the strides of most northern states are enviable.

Lol, this shows you just read and comment base on writeup.

Next time , read, understand, and apply your own knowledge before commenting, stop believing everything the MEDIA write, use your own knowledge sometimes to analyse write up and see if it can or cannot be true.

ADVICE: Use your NO 6 always before concluding.
Stop being so simple minded. Seek clarification when in doubt. You simply failed to understand the post and are now grasping on straws.

The op meant that 46 + 4 of the remaining 6 seats would automatically put PDP in contention for the senate presidency
So the corruption charges against Saraki should be dropped for that reason?

Politics › Re: PDP & South’s Hope For The 2019 Presidential Election: Zakzaky by fulanimafia: 8:41am On Mar 21, 2016
Hilarious.

So the Ibos/SE/SS want an alliance with the North and desire the terrorist Al-zakzaky as President just because they don't like Buhari?

Do these guys even know who Shiites are? They just heard of an opposing Islamic sect and automatically think the enemy of their enemy is their friend? Even to the point of averring that the clannish and jihadist shiites saved and sheltered Christians in their mosques when under attack? Is this administration the first to jail zakzaky (who has been jailed by almost every administration since the military era)?

These guys and their political daftness are assuming legendary status.

You can only deceive the gullible, you have not proven SR wrong but have shown how desperate you people are to turn the truth on its head. SR mentioned that the chief of staff's aide was injured and Dakuku was not because he sped into the DSS office before security men opened fire on the chief of staff's jeep.

Politics › Re: Senate: New Twists Place PDP In Driving Seat by fulanimafia: 8:04am On Mar 21, 2016
Lol Saraki is too desperate.

So he is now suggesting we should leave him alone else PDP would have a chance to make a comeback in the Senate? Since when did 46 + 6 = 57? (That's even if the opposition wins all 6 seats)

The APC is in firm control of the Senate and Saraki will continue to face justice come hell or highwater.

Amechi did not contribute anything, Nigerians voted for Buhari, Gej faced both local and international conspiracies. He was strong enough to garner those votes. Amechi only did not support Gej but Buhari did not win with just two votes, so hat's the fuss?
So Ameachi never sponsored Buhari's campaign as wailers are fond of blabbing?

The propaganda against Amaechi is quickly unraveling.

Hmm, kids everywhere, many voted for APC as PDP was almost taking people for a ride but I bet you, if APC continues like this, Nothing on earth can save them come 2019.
Of course. The PDP has zoned its 2019 Presidency to the North so if PMB fails, the PDP will simply be reclaimed from the SS/SE and we will vote PDP.

The current PDP Chairman (Sherriff) and Youth leader (Mai Basira) have already set the tone.

They nearly stabbed my sist in 2006/7 for a mistakes done by someone else. Thank God for the people around her who shouted she is not the one o.

Their indigenes re terrible, infact north as a whole, no no no , I don't want to generalise it. But some of their men re terrible menh. sad

One love.
@ bolded that's a blatant lie.

With all the kidnapping, baby factories, ritual killings, armed robbery, drug trafficking etc in the East, have you heard anyone say that all eastern indigenes are terrible criminals? You cannot generalize the activities of miscreants to the general population as you are attempting to do here.

Keep your bigotry off this beautiful thread. Mynd44 kindly observe.

Unfortunately I'm Hausa fulani and not Kanuri and I'm not familiar with the NE, but I'll help in the little way I can.

For starters, children in the North generally refer to their mothers as Mama to the best of my knowledge.

P.S. Its Hausa not 'Hauta'.

But I won't call that slaying the peak of a political career is the presidency he wasn't even kicked out of office his tenure simply came to an end... Assume Amaechi obstruct Jonathan from reaching the peak now id say he slew him.
The peak of a Nigerian's political career is utilizing the two Presidential terms allowable.

Jonathan is the FIRST President to lose a Presidential election and be kicked out after a SINGLE tenure. Only Ameachi and the APC could have achieved this feat that has never been achieved before.

That is why he is the Jonathan Slayer and Lion of Ubima.

Lol!!!!! This Nigga is a joker!
So you think it is South West Votes that got Buhari in?
Voted that were shared almost evenly, and APC lost ekiti state?
Or in 2011 when the North West and East votes Buhari but still lost?

Truth be told, no single region in Nigeria is disposable, or more important than the other, and no region can win elections in its own.

Hope that sinks into your head
The fact remains that with the entire North and most of the SW in alliance (as exemplified by the APC), SW and SS votes are useless in any national election. 2015 proved this when over 90% PDP votes in almost all SS/SE states (and some votes in the SW) could not save Jonathan from being kicked out...

...and you know it.

That's because he has already been painted as a traitor, and Riverians are still hurting from Jonathan's humiliating defeat in the hands of the APC.

No matter how you slice or dice it, Ameachi was a major financier and strategist of APC'S successful presidential campaign that kicked out the ineffectual buffoon, and hence, forever retains the title of the Jonathan Slayer.

That's why he shocked your god and the world honorably knowing fully well that you guys were not expecting it. It got nothing to do with any slaying whatsoever. Fact is, if he had wanted he would have stood his ground becaude we all know that he did not actually lose the stuff just that he loves nigeria so much, (or did you not hear the kids voting in Kano, and INEC not using card reders many places?). I guess you re oblivious why the APC is fighting to get Rivers. They failed in Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom, Rivers was their last target and they have failed in that also. These 4 states are Nigerian oil rich states and if the federal govt can control those states then it will have required funds to fund their party. They only have lagos, which has a seaport. Rivers has both a seaport and also oil rich. Losing Rivers is definitely a big blow to the ruling party.

Mr. Amaechi will be sorely disappointed by this defeat. He can go back to Abuja and face his job as a minister and leave Rivers State politics alone. Good riddance....!
Ameachi has been Governor twice which is the maximum allowed by the constitution. He has grown beyond Rivers State politics and is now a national politician.

Ameachi is loved in the NW, NC, NE and SW (the election deciders) and can win any national election. Apart from the SS/SE, where else can Wike be tolerated?

Ameachi has gone beyond state politics and his role in this election was to attempt an increase in the APC's large political warchest. He remains a Senior Minister of the Federal Republic and Dakuku has also gone Federal as Nimasa's DG.

All's well that ends well.
