GodsMercy1: Just wondering if these individuals among PMB support base in the south are not credible enough for any of the positions given so far since those were key appointments. Even the likes of Keyamo, Prof Oyibode (who sees nothing good in GEJ), etc were also not credible enough too? I believe Prof Sagay was appointment to fight against his own blood (people) while key appointments were going on. Who else is credible then in the south if the above names could be ignore in such key roles. God bless GEJ. God bless us all.
There is no way to ascertain if they were offered positions and their responses.
They forgot that Northerners has ruled this country more than any other zone.
Yet we are still here.
gboss4sure: So are trying to say that only the NORTH has competent men in Nigeria?
If so, why have Nigeria not changed since over 40years or them ruling Nigeria?
When will you guys get sense? 2015 election was about bringing change to Nigeria, it was about the north taking back power and holding unto it forever.
If you think your vote will count in 2019, then you are still living in fantasy land
Jack-booted soldiers are not built for governance. Leaders develop a nation, not dictators.
BuddahMonk: The most hilarious thing about the competency of these Northerners is that they lack private sector background.
They are all career civil servants that studied with FG scholarship and came back to dominate the ministries and agencies.
No private sector background whatsoever
That is a lie.

UncleJudax: Lol. The difficulty in defending these appointments is written all over your comments. But hey, I guess we have to agree to disagree. I like not running in circles.
The facts are that; 1. He wouldn't have won if he had a northern running mate.
2. His appointments thus far are skewed
3. Southerners aren't having it.
The rest is playing ostrich.
I thought you could counter with points. For the record, I am not in support of PMB's sectional appointments so I have nothing to defend, I only try to rationalize them critically.
UncleJudax: I am sure you read me correctly. I did say everybody wants a better Nigeria, that would mean results right?
However, given you stance thus far, clarify these questions for me.
1. Do you mean to tell me that only northerners can re-position Nigeria? If yes, that would be ridiculous, as I have opined earlier.
2. Are you saying southerners would not perform even on Buhari's watch? If yes, that would only bring disrepute to his no-nonesense tag. Wouldn't it?
I'm all ears!
1. That is unreasonable, of course not. However the people PMB believes can help him position Nigeria happen to be northerners (not Hausa Fulani), and from their military backgrounds in some cases, you can infer he'd rather work with tested materials since this might be his final chance. If you were President with the same objective and background I strongly believe your choices would also be very different.
2. Of course they could, but he apparently wants to be absolutely sure they would, and his doubts are not necessarily because they are southerners.
ChappyChase: Abegi make I hear word! You might be optimistic but trust me the wicked northerners would have stated killing people by now!
Unfortunately you might be right, but if they did not kill when GEJ's cabinet was FULL of southerners and Asari Dokubo and co. were calling them born troway, parasites (though they feed the nation) and all sorts of insults, why would they kill now?
I know it might be difficult to react this post objectively because of my moniker, but try.
What exactly was your desired output when you voted for PMB?
Was it a government that will deliver effective transparent, reformative and responsible governance; that will ultimately improve the fortunes of Nigeria and Nigerians while upholding the tenets of accountability, discipline and anti-corruption...
Or
A government which is politically correct that plays by the exact same rules other failed administrations played?
If your answer is the latter, then I believe you should be very disappointed. As for me his appointments do not hinder achieving the former, but helps instead.
UncleJudax: I am glad you know that these appointments do not necessarily affect the people of Northern Nigeria directly.
But here is the thing. The serial lopsidedness of Buharis appointments portrays him as being sectarian. No matter how you swing it.
Do you think Buhari wound have won, had he chosen a northerner as a running mate?
He should spread his net in the search for 'honest' Nigerians to constitute his cabinet. There are good and bad people in both north and south. Shikena!
There is no doubt about that as that's the ideal situation, but PMB is not one to play to the gallery or worry about his potrayal as he is results oriented.
Are you after results or political correctness? That's the core of the issue here.
ChappyChase: Okay, if Buhari was a southerner and appointing his kinsmen, would you have been this optimistic that he will deliver?
Yes. This is because I understand the capacity of the southerners to deliver is not tied to their ethnicity. Besides, most of those appointees are not his kinsmen, only two are H/F.
christinie: He chose a Southern Running mate and used Tinubu, Amechi and other Southerners to achieve his aim and you are asking why I am concerned about his VP choice. He doesn't have to prove to me but he should prove to Nigeria why he cannot find men of integrity from the South also. And incase you have nothing intelligent to add you go to Game section where you can play game without exposing your dull nature.
You're not making any sense. Did you invest your hope/vote in PMB or not? Hypocrisy is condemning Ameachi and Tinubu in the morning and then pretending to defend their interest in the evening.
UncleJudax: Lol. Your post was loaded with Mockery (toward southerners), I only continued from where you stopped.
Everybody wants a better Nigeria, that is why Goodluck was voted out, but don't tell me only the North has the zeal, know-how and integrity to run this country.
No matter how much you pretend, you only said what you said cos you are from the north. If the tables were turned, you would revolt. I know it, you know it.
Stop the Mockery!
It all depends on the depth of thought, if that's all you could take out of it, then fine.
Know this: I as a northerner today am not better that I was yesterday because of these appointments. The fact that I'm a diasporan should underline the non-bias of my post. I have nothing to benefit from the SGF/Chief of Staff other than quality guidance and counsel for my President.
christinie: I never voted for him. How could I have voted for an unfettered tribal bigot without conscience?
Why then are you crying about his VP choice? I bet you're one of those that defamed his character during the campaigns. PMB clearly has nothing to prove to your type.
I know it might be difficult to react this post objectively because of my moniker, but try.

This is a family man that already had a decent job but has allowed pure unrestrained greed to destroy his life and reduce the quality of life of his wife and children. How sad.
It can't be said he does not deserve the long jail term coming, but it is important our Eastern brothers do something about this embarrassing trend, it will affect us all if Arik is eventually banned from the London route.

This is highly necessary and the efforts should be accelerated in light of falling oil prices and high unemployment rates. Agriculture and solid minerals possess the potential to wean us off our dangerous reliance of crude oil and rescues us from the dangers of a mono-economy.
Developing our agricultural capacity in particular, will result in a higher availability of cheaper raw materials which will encourage local manufacturers and attract FDI, thereby securing and strengthening the naira.
Kudos PMB, we are ever ready to support your purposeful leadership.
MizMyColi: Fought over? How so? You mean the wars? or civil unrests? How does that change the fact that generations after him now hold on to those words as a means to further plunder my people. How does it change the average northerner's credo. Are we just supposed to sweep those words under the carpet like they mean nothing? I'm at a loss here, enlighten me please.
How do you mean generations under him hold onto those words? Kindly explain. Prove to me all you said here are not just conjectures; what exactly do you know about an average northerners credo?
MizMyColi: You call it the wrong way because you're not in my shoes. Kindly look at that OP again and tell me even one cogent reason which that man gave. Ever since knowing JBerger, have you heard of incompetence or damages? The ember months are in sight. It's gon be another time of toil and untold hardship for the easterner.
Your words here would hold true if you were absolutely sure the reasons given completely hold no water. It sounds like you're playing victim, pardon my lack of a better term
MizMyColi: GEJ might have been a lot of things to everyone. But he was also a good man. Who would honestly believe that those villagers weren't properly compensated. If they weren't, do you think they would allow JB lift even a speck of sand?
What kind of flimsy excuses are those bikonum. Such grappling at straws.
You cannot absolve GEJ of the FAILURE to complete the SNB
MizMyColi: It is good for us to remove the log in our eyes, before removing the flick of dust in the eyes of others. Easterners did not complain of marginalization when the tolling was announced. Just make SNB a reality.
Kaboninc has raised valid points. There's nothing more for me to say. I will now sit back and watch you counter them.
The submissions that broke the camel's back were those by SLS and Ahmadu Bello. If Biafra is not actualized in my generation, it will in the next. Posterity now has it on record that I lent my voice to this movement. On my own terms, and condition.
Its interesting the last straw were SLS and the late Sir Ahmadu Bello's statements, the latter of which has been fought over already. What is it about this SNB suspension that rubs you so roughly the wrong way? The contract was not terminated. If there are inconsistencies in the concessionary agreement which could save Nigeria much needed resources, then why should the FG which contributes 30% of the funds hesitate to fix them after due evaluation?
It is pertinent to state that I do not support the stoppage of this project under any guise, as i have also used the existing bridge and agree with the need for a new one.
freshvine: So why chastise the igbos because they voted along the line the north voted since democracy is at it infancy?
If these tribes cannot vote along issues do you suggest the break up of the country since we cannot get it right even in the 4th Republic of independence?
Again, that choice is a luxury to you because you lack the electoral capital. Use your tongue to count your teeth.
Even the North (3 regions) still needs alliances, why do you think APC was successful? No region in Nigeria can vote solely on tribe and religion and succeed, that's what you guys tried to do.
MizMyColi: Apologies. I wasn't referring to you directly, but to the thought leaders who choose for us those who should be stoned in the court of public opinion, and those who shouldn't.
Again, I ask you.... Why are you so loud on this brazen corruption of GEJ and so silent on Sanusi's?
Go and have a look at my stance, I have never absolved GEJ of every wrong. I have maintained that he has his weaknesses too. Yet, I would take the devil in him, than the 'saint' in Buhari.
Excuse me, labeling it suffering is unfair. I believe it was an agreement which was accepted by all. One which the Igbos do not mind paying for as long as there is an actualization. Lagosians are being tolled for a rather sparse kilometer of road, where are the wolf criers?
Did work commence on the second Niger bridge or not? Did we see evidence of structures coming up or not? Could the in-completion have been as a result of unforeseen circumstances? If the answers to these questions are Nay......then you do have a point.
However, I will not comment further on the Bridge issue.... There is another side to the story, and ultimately, the truth.
Note that the 1km is not owned by the FG. Notwithstanding, I'll give regard to your decision to let the SNB issue rest, it's one of the failures of GEJ (he promised to complete it) that is better left in the bin of history. If the FG fully funds projects in other regions, then it was injustice and clear marginalization to ask Igbos to pay for such a significant project. Alas.
I must say I'm more touched than alarmed by your decision to align with the secessionist movement. Is it that bad? Wish we could talk more privately.
