This is President Buhari walking the talk. Hopefully this is a primer for any subsequent charges against Dasuki.

As Jonathan's NSA, we need details on how monumental billions of naira went missing through questionable arms purchases, effectively compromising the fight against BH.

This is just the beginning.

Where is the lopsided appointments ? I believe all this wailing is because some people wanted some people in a certain post and Buhari chose not to give the favored candidate the position
Shikenna
Sheer hypocrisy.

Have you wondered why the irrational wailers never mention that the CBN Governor and IG were both retained by PMB and are both southerners? Are there no competent northerners to occupy these strategic posts (including the NNPC) if a northern agenda is in place?

With all due respect, this scare mongering by Okogie is demeaning to his repute.

1. Can he claim to not have heard of the serious efforts this administration is putting in to identify and appoint judges with integrity to prosecute corruption cases in particular?

2. Under what framework would his proposed dialogue take place and how would it be regulated?

3. There should be no semblance of compromise in this fight. There should be no basis for treating criminals differently because of their past positions or wealth if the blind nature of serving justice is to be adhered with.

I'm holding Buhari by his words!

GEJ, for once, circumstance notwithstanding, did not ever boast about making the Naira equal to dollar or that he'd make oil price stable unlike Buhari that opened his amoebic mouth to make promises he can never achieve even in his Daura farm.

I'm not demanding immediate results from Buhari, I'm only trying to scupper your lies and ignominious propaganda so that you and your fellows don't succeed in hoodwinking more Nigerians to believing Buhari is archangel Michael.
Have you forced Jonathan to go on exile for his 2011 failed campaign promise to complete the second Niger bridge in 4 years time or are you going to excuse this promise on his drunkenness?

In any undertaking, you must always ask the simple question. 'Is the approach I am taking going to produce results?'. I think what Okogie and Kukah are saying , is that in a democratic landscape, it is actually very difficult to fight corruption with 'Thunder and brimstone' as it where. Please tell me are his points not valid? If I was a looter with billions at my disposal, do you honestly think I will just roll over? I will assemble the best team of lawyers I can get and fight the case every step of the way, and even after a possible conviction, I will appeal all the way to the supreme court. Please understand this is not the time of military and tribunals. All over the world the concept of plea bargains is used in difficult to convict cases. I see no reason why we can't employ something like that here. Nigeria has a lot of critical issues that need urgent attention, if we can get some money back from the looters quickly and quietly and deploy that on development and poverty alleviation programs is that not a good thing? As opposed to spending the next decades fighting in court after court. Remember till now we have not yet recovered all of the Abacha loot, almost 2 decades after his death.
With sufficient evidence and an uncompromised judiciary, the process will be surely expedited. Furthermore, recovering the loot will have minimal impact on governance due to other efforts being made at minimizing wastage and preventing looting, which will free up resources for development. Already allocation to states has risen to its highest level this year.

The point is that the fight against corruption should be uncompromising regardless, and the challenges that are inherent should be/are being pro-actively tackled.

GEJ was overhauling the entire organs, agencies and system of our government for proper dissemination of the dividends of democracy.

Of course, such process has no immediate positive effect, in fact, it puts a nation, society or organisation on a standstill. Yet GEJ managed to steer the country to many points of positive achievements which are becoming evident in this administration. GEJ fought a war on multiple fronts and came back with convincing results yet you lots paid him back by bullying him out of office.

Let's see how Buhari copes with GEJ'S legacy.
GEJ was overhauling the entire organs of governance for 5 years and you wanted Nigerians to give him another four?

Even if your assertion is quite laughable, it underlines why Nigerians ejected a learner for an experienced administrator.

Change, even from worse to better, comes with initial inconvenience.

There's no doubt that the lack of a Finance minister has everything to do with the fiscal policy gaps, however the benefits that would also accrue to the optimised MDA's which would be more efficient, are just as important to our national economy. Already, the closure of the MDA's numerous and uncoordinated revenue accounts in commercial banks is freeing up resources after PMB's order for them to fully implement the TSA policy for example.

The important thing is that the core aspects of these reforms are almost completed and ministers will be appointed in a matter of weeks which would address this particular challenge and facilitate better co-ordination of the nation's economy.
Politics › Re: Fear Grips Nlng Over Protest Letter By Rivers Youths Over Drydock by fulanimafia: 6:47am On Sep 01, 2015
Much ado over nothing. Even if feasibility studies did not present Badagry as the preferred site, nobody can dictate to a private company where they should locate their private investment. The NLNG has made clear it's role in the process which is to encourage investors to build the dry-docks, and not in anyway to sink a penny in the project itself.

Instead of all this wrangling, the youths should advocate for a safer ND which would naturally attract FDI. I would not be surprised if most of the reasons the feasibility reports favored Badagry bordered on security, especially with the kidnapping occurrences and 'settlements' demanded in the ND.

One wonders why the ND leaders like GEJ were not tasked with building such projects in their time, and the likes of Dokubo are still waddling about after siting his own institution, King Amachree African University in Benin Republic instead of in the Niger Delta.

Keep your akobata Fulani foolishness to yourself. Think very well before you quote me

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/fg-saves-n500bn-through-implementation-of-single-treasury-account/

The federal government saved about N500 billion in unutilized funds last year through the implementation of the Single Treasury Account (TSA).
TSA is a unified structure of government bank accounts that gives a consolidated view of government cash resources. It is a system, whereby all monies belonging to the government are domiciled in one account with the Central Bank of Nigeria, with payments out and collection into the account done via an electronic payment platform.
Stick to the topic and stop putting you uncultured nature on display.

From the link you provided which you clearly lacked capacity to understand, the savings for 2014 were made as a result of implementing the E-Payment systems which is only a minor component of the TSA. The TSA was never fully implemented until President Buhari's emergence.

It was CLEARLY stated that the order for closure of all revenue accounts which is the core element of the TSA and subject of our discussion (as evident in the definition of TSA you provided) was given on January 1 2015 with a February 28th deadline which was never adhered to due to the incompetence of Jonaboy.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/fg-saves-n500bn-through-implementation-of-single-treasury-account/

It is instructive that MDA's were still operating numerous uncoordinated revenue accounts with commercial banks which is in DIRECT violation of the TSA provisions until the order by President Buhari on August 9th, which had MDA's complying under 48 hours.

Spoken like a typical almajiri, check public records to find out when TSA was implemented.
Public records show that TSA was implemented on Sunday, August 9, 2015.

Excerpts from THISDAY (16/8/2015)

"That is why Nigerians should applaud President Buhari for his boldness when on Sunday, August 9, 2015 he announced that all MDAs should transfer all their accounts with commercial banks to Treasury Single Accounts (TSA) with immediate effect. Yes, former President Jonathan gave similar directive in January with February 28, 2015 as the deadline but as usual, lacking leadership, he was ignored by most of these MDAs. The good news is that by August 11, most of these MDAs have started complying."

What makes the situation worse is that chestbeating seems to be their only coping mechanism, which unfortunately worsens the situation because it erodes their relationship with others, one of the key causative elements of their present quagmire.

That is untrue, what quality of life is there with incessant armed robberies, kidnapping, ritual murders, baby factories, rape, jungle justice etc? All within the same poverty (the difference between both regions is less than 20%) which has over half of the southern population living below the poverty line (research it).
