@Iyaniwura
Do you have more account of the 1976 coup, there are claims that many were wrongly convicted and executed just because of their ethnic affiliation.

I thought as much, I lived in Moston for years before moving to Blackley which is less than 2 miles away. I'm kinda stuck in north Manchester as my place of work is in the city centre and also have lots of family members in the area. Which part of Manchester do you reside?

Christianity EtcRe: Wearing Jewelries Takes One To Hell? by funnyx(m): 3:37pm On Aug 18, 2013
There are so many of these hell visions lately, sometimes I wonder why would God allow many to perish by the continual delay of the coming of the Lord? If the world has been destroyed many centuries ago I believe less people will go to hell as many who are supposedly trooping to this hell now wouldn't have been born undecided
Did God create humans just to put as many of them in hell?

Good to know there are NLanders in Manchester, I believe there are some cargo businesses in Moston, have you tried any of them? I usually don't cargo to Naija so don't really know which one to recommend.
In fact, I'll go as far as to say that the bad reputation of Nigerians in UK is due to the activities of desperate and reckless yorubas.
Lies and unnecessary exaggerations, your post suggests all UK prisons are full of Yorubas which is a lie.Do you have any verifiable link that state the number of Nigerians in UK prisons and their tribes or you're just acting on emotions and hearsay?

Mr Aboki: Erm...

First of all.. R.I.P to Mr Mohammed. R.I.P to the Policeman.

This is another case of poor training. Why would he fire into an unarmed crowd to disperse them?! Why would the Police force dispatch random Policemen to disperse a protest instead of Riot Police?! Lord knows that Nigerian protests can be very violent. Nobody knows the condition that this officer found himself in that necessitated his using his firearm on them. This is just a product of a failed system.

MAYBE: If the Police Head Quarters that dispatched this group of officers to the scene had rather sent Riot Policemen armed with Shields, batons, tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets, maybe this whole debacle could have been avoided..

Its so sad to see Policemen on the streets carrying teargas guns and then those who need the teargas guns are given live ammo.

Simple truth is that the Police is a failed institution in Nigeria. A total overhaul is needed. A 5 year phase out plan. Basically set up a new Police Department, start recruiting officers with OND being the minimum requirement. The old officers should be put through tests and those that pass can be admitted into the new Police training college, while those that fail be paid their full retirement benefits and sacked. A proper Police force in needed and needed fast. Just today alone, we have read three reports about the Police on the frontpage and None of them is good.

1. Drunk Police kill 1, injure 2.
2. Policeman lynched for killing trader.
3. Policeman demanding bribe video.

This week.

4. Policemen that aided the killing of 2 teens in Lagos arrested.

Nice one, I am always of the opinion that any govt that fails to reform the present Nigerian police cannot be said to be fighting corruption nor meant well for ordinary Nigerians.

PoliticsRe: Photos: Destitiute Picked Up At Marina Lagos This Morning by funnyx(m): 11:10pm On Aug 04, 2013
pDude: Lagos is not for everyone.
When I was in Aba, regardless of the filth, I liked the fact that I could wake up 15minutes to resume work and still arrive on time. Lagos stress is too much. If you have no home in Lagos, please return to your village and stop constituting a nuisance to others.
Exactly! As a Yoruba man I don't even like Lagos, the thought of spending a night there makes me sick. When I was in Nigeria I only travel to Lagos for biz and on most occasion I return the same day, I even turned down the offer of a very good job in Lagos because of the stress. I'll rather earn 1/3 of what I'll get in Lagos to reside in Ibadan.
PoliticsRe: Deportation Of Igbos From Lagos: Senator Ngige Speaks by funnyx(m): 1:36pm On Aug 02, 2013
Ayee Idris: I don't like double standards. When other states like Abuja and (from the News articles being posted)Anambra sends people away, its repatriation. When Lagos does the same, it is 'deportation'. Let's be fair and rational sometimes. Though If the allegation is true that they were left there at 4.00 a.m, that's not nice at all.
Let's not allow the issue ruin our ever improving tribal relations. Some of my best friends are Igbos and Yorubas. Two of my dearest Igbo friends are happily married to Yoruba men in Lagos and vice versa. Let's try and be civil with each other.
Some people are tribalist to the core and until they purge themselves of this bigotry they'll always see every issue from a tribal angle. They are one of the reasons Nigeria is so messed up.
people like u don't want Nigeria to move forward pls change ur orientation
You got it wrong, I'm actually a supporter of Ameachi but in my opinion I thought he should have kept quiet for now, already Jonathan and his wife has been disgraced by their inability to impeach him.
