The Maxi Okwu-led faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has selected Dr. Chike Obidigbo to fly the party's flag in the November 16 Anambra State governorship election. He emerged on Monday, at a special congress of the Okwu faction of APGA in Awka. Okwu told our correspondent in Enugu that 450 delegates participated in the exercise that produced Obidigbo in a contest where he was the sole candidate. The emergence of Obidigbo came one week after Chief Wiilie Obiano was selected on August 26 as the party's flag bearer by the Chief Victor Umeh led- faction of the party. Obiano served as an Executive Director of Business Banking at Fidelity Bank. Reacting to Obidigbo's emergence, the Chairman of the Screening Committee, Chief Chris Eze, said that the party had come out with a most qualified and well known candidate. Chief Sunday Obasaha, Officer in-charge of the exercise, had called for nomination, and Mr. Victor Ndu from Ward 11 Onitsha North nominated Obidigbo and was seconded by Mr. Joseph Umeze from Ward 1 Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area of the state. Obidigbo was returned unopposed with 450 votes and was also handed the party's flag by Okwu, who commended the delegates for the large turnout. Okwu said that Obidigbo had been elected its flag bearer and also expressed the confidence that he (Obidigbo) would win the governorship election on November 16. He said, "Obidigbo will take over the mantle from Governor Peter Obi. It is my honour to present the flag to you to fly it high." On arrival in Enugu, Obidigbo said that APGA was one indivisible political party, and commended Obi for the good job he had done to lift the state to enviable height. He urged the party members from various wards, who turned out to select him, to go home and work harder to deliver the party at the election. "I will not disappoint the electorates if voted to take over from Obi from March 2014," Obidigbo stated. mobile.punchng.com/output.php?link=http://www.punchng.com/news/anambra-2014-two-candidates-emerge-in-apga/ |
Yap mostly Toyota brands followed by Honda...but for taxi na Nissan carry dat one! |
texaco1: Obsessed with APC?who no know go knowShutup U̶̲̥̅̊'re obsessed with APC; stick with the topic... Mr PDP #AntiAjimobi N.B:- PDP will never win Oyo state; get dat!!! And to those comparing Soludo with Ngige; U̶̲̥̅̊ really make me laff... Ngige and Soludo are not in thesame class politically. Ngige is a dogged politician unlike Soludo who has no political structure whatsoever. I like Soludo but sorry PDM can't help U̶̲̥̅̊; the only platform that would hv won him the governorship remains APGA any other party is sinking sand!!! |
What is happening now at the LG level is an eye-opener to the fact that state govts are grossly incapable of conducting credible elections. It's time to stop state govt. from handling any form of election. If INEC can be in charge of State governorship election then let them also be the one to handle it to the LG level. What is happening in Offa LG is a big shame on PDP and KWASIEC. Its a big shame on Dr Uthman Ajidagba; the Returning Officer for the election. Everybody already has the result of the election therefore there's nothing hidden under the sun. Some few cabals can't claim to be wiser than the people. U̶̲̥̅̊ will all suffer for your deeds IJN. Amen!!! And to those praising PDP I just pity U̶̲̥̅̊ because U̶̲̥̅̊ don't know wat it means for 'ur right to be taken away from U̶̲̥̅̊ right b4 'ur very eyes. Dats d reason why no matter wat U̶̲̥̅̊ call TINUBU; SW will never forget him because he gave us hope when we were in deep darkness. If a new born baby in SW nigeria shld contest against any PDP candidate in SW nigeria nw, d PDP candidate will gallantly lose because when U̶̲̥̅̊ mention PDP what comes to our mind is Violence, Bloodshed, Developmental Retrogression, Disorderliness...etc! I'll urge my SE brodas esp my Anambra brodas; we've tasted PDP in SW and we know wat they are because our criticism of them is not boiled out of sentiments but from bitter experience. Vote any party of 'ur choice except PDP! PDP is a party I can't wish on my greatest enemy. PDP U̶̲̥̅̊'re on the path of destruction but I'll urge U̶̲̥̅̊ to continue in 'ur evil ways because they do say "the dog that will lose it's way will surely fail to hear the hunters whistle". May God help us!!! |
TechyGuy: Read out loud your source URL and you will find your position.I don't have your time boy!!! |
donsmall94: pdp goons, wait and see d first file ur chairman wud be treating is a court case file.....Infact offa people should relax d result will definitely be overturned in some few weeks time...mark my words!!! Kwara: APC Wins 11 Council Wards, KWASIEC Returning Officer Absconds Results from all 12 council wards in Offa, Kwara State, show that the newly registered All Progressive Congress (APC), swept 11 of the 12 wards in Saturday’s polls, and the Peoples Democratic Party, just one ward. The results were signed by officers of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) in the wards, agents of all the parties, and security agents. Tension however rose in the area after the Returning Officer strangely refused to announce the results even when they had been fully tabulated as early as 5 p.m and no record of violence existed. Political party agents, security teams and election observers who gathered at the local government collation centre in Offa could not find the Returning Officer who is by law empowered to announce the final results. He later called in to say he would only announce the result in Ilorin, the state capital, a decision that is contrary either to convention and the electoral law. The signed results are as follows: Balogun Ward: APC – 1129, PDP -504; Shawo Central: APC -1132, PDP- 435; Shawo SW : APC- 1171, PDP – 372; Shawo SE: APC- 1054, PDP -370; Essa A : APC – 639, PDP -363; Essa B: APC -644, PDP -381; Ojomu NW : APC -1314, PDP -446; Ojomu Central 1: APC -866, PDP -373; Ojomu Central 2 : APC – 866, PDP- 373; Ojomu SE : APC -1374, PDP -427; Ogbodun : APC – 268, PDP – 381; and Essa C : APC – 972 , PDP – 351. The tally shows the APC having 11,526 as against PDP’s 4,668. The atmosphere was still tense in Offa and at KWASIEC office in Ilorin at the time of filing this report, as the youths vowed to reject any attempt to manipulate the result in favour of the PDP. SAHARA REPORTERS Short URL: http://www.osundefender.org/? p=119127 I just hope PDP and kwasiec did their rigging properly because they must be able to present a forged signature of all d party agents used on the distributed copies of the most sensitive material(Form EC8)!! Their mischief will definitely catch up wit them... Daylight robbers!!! |
Cockroach, Mosqitoes, Housefly, Snakes... Gush I hate those tins!!! |
perfectcato: I can't believe u are saying dat APC will win after deporting the igbos/anambra people back to onitsha from lagos. Igbos are wiser now. Pls be your ''brothers keeper''. In APGA we stand... Vote Willy Obiano for Governor in Anambra state.Shut up its eediots like U̶̲̥̅̊ that want Anambrians to continue wallowing in poverty and infrastructural backwardness. After all d noise, Obi's plan has now been exposed... Ngige all d way!!! |
I don't know wats making dis PDP stooges so jumpy... An election has just been rigged and U̶̲̥̅̊ guys are running about making noise. Pls celebrate very well 'cos its going to be short. Just wait d court will soon overturn 'ur temporary victory. Besides d election was not even organized by INEC 'cos its a state LG election controlled by d SG so I'm nt really surprised...wat more do U̶̲̥̅̊ expect from LG elections where d state already has a written down result for d returning officer even b4 d election. Mtcheww!!! This has just confirmed that the only way for PDP to win any election is thru rigging. #GBAM!!! |
@OP where did U̶̲̥̅̊ get 'ur useless info from... Hw can any party present a presidential candidate now when they still have about 4 different elections coming up... U̶̲̥̅̊ must be a great learner!!! |
I don't undstd why pple are condemning dis girl. She only embarking on a "Journey to self". Only a few will undstd dat. |
That's why I like ACN/APC ugly tins like dis will never happen although they also do hv their own share of internal crises but U̶̲̥̅̊ hardly see them spreading their dirty linen in public like PDP... Shameful!!! |

ik4life: please is there any evidence of any competent court of law in nigeria or anywhere in the world labeling him a fraudster or did the subsidy committee indicted him as a fraudster please answerHe's nt just a fraudster; Ifeanyi Uba is a super swindler. Its only in Ibo land dat thieves are celebrated; later they'll be crying they're not developed. So dis man can still cum out after d fuel subsidy money he has stolen and wat he did to Maduka(coscharis)... SMH for Anambra O°˚˚˚ !!! businessnews.com.ng/2012/11/05/ifeanyi-ubah-is-a-fraudster-of-magnitude-cosmas-maduka/ |

Dats one beautiful thing about ACN governors to Papa Deceiving Pikin(PDP); there own project is always on the pipeline. Shit! |
They attack those places repeatedly because they are isolated tongues and they are sitting targets for them. What stops all those middle belt communities from ganging up on them when anyone of their communitoes is attacked? What state do these herders come from and why couldnt their state governments restrain them? Its an error of judgement to place the burden of peacemaking on the state government in which the attack took place.
U̶̲̥̅̊ better don't mind those Middle Belt people. Hausa/fulanis have taken them for complete mumu especially in Plateau state. Their over-reliance on security agents is their downfall over their. They better wise-up and form themselves into a strong unified militia group like OPC b4 fulanis wipe U̶̲̥̅̊ off totally. OPC always on time...no time for nonsense! |
The general norm here now is voting APGA into office in November. We all have our voters card ready to vote APGA en-mass. Boko haram party APC is dead on arrival, Ngige should find a way to hold back to the Senate because he will soon loose it too. Coupled with the recent deportation of Igbos by APC led government, it effectively shut out APC from the entire process. Ngige should blame his failure on APC and boko haramites.. That is what everybody is pointing at here on the ground.....
Most of U̶̲̥̅̊ are just beclouded by sentiments when its glaring that Obi only politicised the deportation saga just to spite Ngige. I'm even sure must of U̶̲̥̅̊ hv nt read wat Ngige said about the deportation U̶̲̥̅̊'re just reacting based on sentiments. Now read his comment below and that will show U̶̲̥̅̊ that Obi is a devil who is just bent on tarnishing Ngige's image: "Lagos State Governor disclosed that contrary to claims, the issue in question has nothing to do with deportation, but a Social Welfare Intervention, involving several homeless destitutes and other psychiatric cases roaming the streets and some living under the bridges in Lagos. These people were taken in and treated and cared for by the Lagos State Government free of charge and thereafter needed to be reintegrated with their families. After this rehabilitation the affected people disclosed their true identities and the disclosure revealed that 14 of them were from Anambra State. For the purpose of reintegration with their kith and kin back home( most of them had nobody in Lagos) and for further social support and care, Lagos State Government communicated the Anambra State Government as well as other affected state governments to come forward and identify and take over their people. (see letter as annex 1) On receipt of this communication, Anambra State Government requested for the identities of those claiming to be from the state( see letter as annex 2). The list was promptly supplied to them by Lagos State for immediate and urgent action( see letter as annex 3). With further contact and pressure Anambra State Government preferred that the handing over be done at bridge head and Lagos State obliged but found no Anambra State Government Representative on arrival at the agreed date and was hence forced to leave the people at a government office they found at the Niger Bridgehead". So Danbaba Suntai is a christian. I never knew dat... Anyway if he can't function again let d deputy take over. I don't do religious politics 'cos I'm yoruba! |
It's really a pity Obi selected willy his friend.... I don't know how apga ll win dis time, and I really want dem to win. Willy is the man from anyamelum side ba? He is practically unknown. He won't even make it in his lga! Odenigbo woulda been a better choice but he isn't very financially buoyant. Pdp is a mess wit 2 candidates, both wit very low chances of winning. The other parties don't have strong candidates. The way I see it, ngige might win. He is the only strong aspirant I see.... And d people his govt favored will vote for him despite his recent gaffe.... Unless some worthy aspirant springs up from somewhere. I don't want ngige or Uba on that seat but I don't think apga will make it this time. I wonder what peter Obi would do after the swearing in, join pdp? The man has practically killed apga.
U̶̲̥̅̊'re really on point. If only people undstd wat grass root politics is. Forget whatever Ngige might hv said, so many people still luv him passionately. As far as dis election is concerned the only person that would hv given him a run for his money has been cheated out; "Soludo". APGA will surely pay dearly for that. People are not robots that U̶̲̥̅̊ can just remote control anyhw. APGAs eyes go soon clear nw! |
