This is what I was referring to the other day.
Is this deliberate misinformation to gain followership or the guy is just ignorant?

Covert1: I concur "A strong ECOWAS is a strong Nigeria". A strong Nigeria is also a strong ECOWAS. A weak Nigeria is a disaster for all of Africa. We can even stretch it to say a strong African Union behind Nigeria taking the lead is a force to be reckoned with in global affairs. The way to shut down these colonialists once and for all is to be united. But fifth columnists abound everywhere because of envy. The likes of Quattara helped by Jonathan to office now a total lackey of France and then the perennial ruler in Cameroon and even worse South Africa under Jacob Zuma and other puppets of the west. I expected more from Ramaphosa but with him and his ANC already advocating support for the junta in N'djamena for the sake of stability raises questions of what are there motives here. The whole chad business screams bad news with terrorists running amok and cheap Libyan weapons awash in the entire sub-region.
Another option is to allow the regional hegemons a seat on the UNSC with veto power but here we are with the west playing brother against brother. ECOWAS still seems the best route for Nigeria but Africa would be better off with Nigeria as its lead voice in global affairs much like Europe defers to America. Many will not agree with me and may clamor instead for a United States of Africa but I don't see Nigeria with its huge population and potential acceding to such ideas which is why it supports the gradualist position of integrating the African Union. The strategic patience Nigeria has thus far employed might need to be jettisoned for a more robust assertive foreign policy to whip these nations into line for true emancipation. If we had our house in order, I would prefer we pull out of AU. Most African countries are not ready to be truly independent. We are always looking for validation from the west. I really got pissed off today after watching interview of the African diplomat that was fired for criticising France. |

Covert1: Isn't it interesting the rebels haven't even come out to say they did which is uncharacteristic of rebel or terrorists groups. They would want to cash in on that publicity and drive the narrative, they didn't yet the press is buying that one sided story of events. This should concentrate minds. Now someone is asking the right questions. I totally agree with you on this. I have been following this news every hour and I have not heard the rebels claim responsibility. Probably they are just too surprised at their luck or not sure which rebel group actually carried out the hit. As for me I believe he was assassinated by his own guys. |

Xbee007: I won't be surprised if they investigate this Twitter handles and discover that terrorists sympathisers are behind them. They have consistently bring ridicule to Nigerian Army. They almost destroy the reputation of Nigerian Air Force too. Sometimes it is just to gain followership and patronage on social media even when they know the information is false. Striker Arab posted a video recently of captured Chadian rebels and he tagged the video as captured BHT. I posted a comment that I think they are Chadian rebels and it appears he deleted the comment. After my encounter with SSBN on twitter I don't bother trying to correct misinformation because I have come to realise most of them have other intentions while others are just ignorant. |

Roan77: There are very much capable, don't be deceived. Don't forget Nigeria intervention, and possible inversion of Gambia, that's to tell you Nigerian military capabilities in multiple fronts. I bet you read that on twitter...Gambian invasion indeed! We seem not to learn in this country. Which internal conflict have we won purely on military force? |

Someone just dug out the video BHT used in claiming they shot down the Alpha Jet.
Apparently, BHT is just claiming an unfortunate accident.
RIP to the dead

JOSCOFELIX: ogas calm down. me i was shock when i heard this but i latter understood what he meant. this my guy information hardly fail. a nuclear weapon air strike is a bomb drop from a jet to a particular location. this is not icbm or atomic bomb. my guy said it was the bomb ordered by the former caf he say the bomb have ablity to discharge nuclear abiity and he said the former spectat jauger nuclear air strike weapon are still working.this what i heard Bro I like u, but try and filter information before u share. You have to read alot about military stuff so u can ask the right questions and even when your informant is ignorant you can help his ignorance. NB I still tend to believe that a good number of our officers are not well versed in weapons and defence equipment, that is what is simply playing out here. |

kabe1: Mali Al Qeada attacks and overruns base.
This is a country that has more than 4,000 French soldiers, nearly 30 Fighter jets including, Rafale, Mirage 2000Ds and Reaper Drones.
Those Estonian photo-ops special forces serve in this country, yet this sort of brazen attack occurs there. The recoilesss gun is something to worry about |
