Toju200: very good points but my question is what will we be using 75 Wingloog for Cos what you just said now it's like the capability of only one if I'm not mistaking
Power dey intoxicate no be small. It reinforces the assertion yet again as displayed on this platform every now and then that a good number of those in the our security forces are there to be able to use the power to easily have their way in chaotic country and oppress people.
This is the reason I care less about what happens to a Nigerian soldier these days or the army. You can't be a responsible soldier under an irresponsible government. We can't have a professional force under an irresponsible government.
Sarrki got the write up from our Defense New Nigeria twitter blogger and decided to twist it. People can do anything to get to front page on Nairaland.
SamuelAnyawu: When I finished my secondary studies in a Military school, I told my Dad I want to enlist into the armed forces. He vehemently refused that I so held that grudge until I relocated to Borno state. Previously when I attend military wedding I was always feeling so bitter why I did not go against my Dad's directives. You know how military wedding sweet na . All those swords stuff
But since I relocated to Borno I immediately Sent a 21 yr old Glenfiddich to my Dad
Many dudes in the Nigeria armed forces got no business there as they will find it so hard to adjust to the Frontline lifestyle for the reasons below
1) Most Generals just enlist their kids in the military to Maintain the status quo
2) Some NCOs joined the military due to lack of jobs in Nigeria. Many don't have the heart for it.
3) The Military is a Regimental job. Anyone who is enlisting should understand this.
The last attack in Monguno from anonymous sources, ISWAP carried out an intelligence monitoring and discovered that Soldiers mounting the entrance checkpoints in Monguno barely stay at their checkpoints during Mid-day. The CO visits the outposts from 4pm downwards of which most Soldiers would definitely return before he visits.
When ISWAP struck at 11am of which more than half of the soldiers stationed at this checkpoints have gone for their usual merriment to Gidan Martha and GF's houses. Tho I heard those that were unavailable are chilling in the guard room till date
When enlisting into the Army, kindly ask yourself these questions:
Can I stay without sex for a year?
Can I stay in a location for a year without seeing my loved ones?
Can I spend a year sleeping on a tiny mattress or mat in a zinc or thatch house close to my trench for a year?
Do I have the mental capability to exchange gunfire weekly for a year without going psychological? Like Soldiers in Rann, Kala Balge engaging weekly.
Let me add one more reason why some joined the army
4) Alternative to cultism. Some saw the military as a cult.
NA should work on leadership (leadership of the army is more interested in pleasing the presidency than serving the people)
ugo4u: Nothing one won't see in this country, I watched that Army documentary on nta and its like it was aired to launder more of the COAS image than that of the army. They even used a picture of a Chilean special forces member descending from chute that went viral when one roforofo blog said it was the COAS . The whole thing to me is like a politician doing PR during elections campaign for a second term. abi is someone indirectly canvassing for tenure elongation? E. b. things
Tobiloba2407: Truth is that the Nigerian military of 1985 would beat the Nigerian military if today hands down, the only thing that might give a bit of resistance, is in the quality of our infantry training.....though without better infantry weapons if the 1980s.
Totally agree and for the simple reason that those guys were willing to die to preserve the reputation of the NA and the leadership too did not tolerate failure. I am not ready to die for this country and I won't advise anyone to whether under the guise of joining the military.
Toju200: As part of efforts to rid the North West and North Central States of the Country of armed bandits and other criminal elements, the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has launched a subsidiary air interdiction Operation, codenamed WUTAN DAJI. The Operation, which was preceded by the massive deployment of additional air assets and ground support equipment by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to Katsina, is aimed at taking out armed bandits’ locations that were painstakingly selected, based on impeccable Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports as well as series of Surveillance missions, in order to significantly degrade the armed bandits’ fighting capability before it could be brought to bear against friendly forces or innocent civilians. Since the operation began on 20 June 2020, 10 locations have been attacked and scores of armed bandits neutralized, as confirmed by HUMINT reports. Some of the significant air strikes include those executed at Dutsen Asolo and Birnin Kogo areas of Katsina State as well as at Dogo Gede’s Camp in the Kwayanbana Forest area of Zamfara State. At Dutsen Asolo, NAF jets dispatched by the Air Component attacked the cave/hideout of the bandits, destroying the main entry point and neutralizing some fighters. Some surviving bandits, who were tracked escaping from the cave area were taken out in follow-on strikes. Also, on 21 June 2020, at the bandits’ enclave in the Kwayanbana Forest, an attack helicopter took out one of the bandits’ logistics huts, which was seen engulfed in flames. Similarly, at Birnin Kogo on 22 June 2020, some armed bandits, who fled their dwellings in the centre of the camp to nearby bushes on hearing the sound of the attack aircraft, were neutralized as the NAF fighter jets hit them at their hiding positions. The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who was in Katsina to oversee the Operation, has commended the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism. He has urged them to remain resolute in the conduct of air strikes whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations in order to eradicate all armed bandits; thus accomplishing the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country. President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday criticized service chiefs in Nigeria over their strategy in tackling insecurity, warning them to be alive to security problems bedeviling the country.
Disclosing this to State House correspondents on Thursday after a security briefing, the National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd.), said the President was unhappy with the current state of security in the country.
According to Monguno, the President said, though the security chiefs had been doing their best, their best had not been good enough for the challenges facing the nation.
He also expressed displeasure over the lack of synergy amongst security forces and charged the various aspects of the security architecture to work together to solve the nation’s security challenges.
Toju200: I still don't get something. Where are all these terrorists emerging from. Despite the Airstrikes conducted against them which visibly we see proofs The recent operations which again we saw proofs of success
These guys still comes out kidnap people unluckily service men fell victim And they into hiding Question is where NAF has been conducting intense ISR operations We should just rotate troops in the NE deploy fresh ones including a unit of AFSF
On my birthday it was two service men death day so sad...
