Politics › Re: Smuggling Booms At Nigeria, Niger Border, Despite Border Closure by gabbasin(m): 12:09pm On Oct 22, 2019
eTECTIV:
Wen we said it earlier some ediots kept saying we were making up stories... Most Alhajis have become overnight rice merchants and have become overnight millionaires becos d so called border closure and customs is only taken seriously in d southern borders by d customs and other security agencies while up north it is business as usual.. Let's stop deceiving ourselves in dis country. Foreign rice in Katsina sells for less than 12k.
the north grow more rice than south, so if fg deliberately condone smuggling in the northern border as you asserted, then who lose? The northern rice growers or the southern cassava growers. Let's be reasonable and objective

Science/Technology › Re: Can A 5000VA Stabilizer Carry 2 1hp Air-conditioners by gabbasin(op): 7:22am On Sep 27, 2019
pakingzzzzz:
500va is also 5000watts.
1hp=740watts.
2hp=1480watts.
But electricity don't like to be judged that way. It gets notirious when you are dealing with motor.
So, you will want to add a head room of about 250watts.
This implies, 2hp= 1980watts.
Then there is the start up current required to run a motor. Every motor wants to take three times it's rated power when switched on. So a 1hp motor would want to draw around 2500watts when switched on momentarily. But it will normalise within seconds.
Your 5000va can power the 2hp air conditioning.
thanks

inyenejo:
Zombies have taken over this thread, every sane mind knows that Udom , Isiaku won that elections hands down....every sane mind knows that Atiku won that elections hands down too but this is politics they know what they are doing.
where PDP wins 'every sane mind knows they truly win' but where the party lost it is 'the election is rigged' Till today the only thing PDD is hammering against the Buhari victory is the issue surrounding his certificate as they can't prove how Atiku won instead. Everyday on AIT's kakaaki and democracy today, the only issue for them is Buhari's certificate. All other stations have moved from the fallout of the PEPT judgement but AIT is still wailing.
Business › Re: Polaris Bank's Notice Of Cashless Policy Implementation by gabbasin(m): 11:28am On Sep 20, 2019
Most people doesn't understand this CBN policy, they are just criticizing blindly. Who goes about transacting in cash excess of 500k this days? If you are a trader/merchant and you know you make sales of up to N500k, you are suppose to go get a pos terminal and encourage your customers to do cashless transactions
Watching a reps member on TV going against this policy instead of engaging people in his constituency to educate them on the merit of the policy makes me feel till eternity some people will drag this country back with the excuse that we still 'have illiterates'. As technology is advancing, are we suppose to lag behind perpetually because some people are not too literate to use it

Politics › Re: PDP Challenges Wike To Prove Allegation Of Corruption Against Members by gabbasin(m): 9:20pm On Sep 13, 2019
The political parties in Nigeria are the ones causing problems to themselves, the corrupt governors give the parties moneys and effectively become a sort of 'who pays the piper dictates the tune'. They are seen as the power brokers and dictate to their respective parties who and who to field for elections and appointments to political office. It is the corruption in the systems that make internal democracy in the parties impossible.
