My ride has been running fine after I met a car dealer who sent my to his mechanic but now there’s a problem which goes thus...


Car starts overheating when I’m at high speed with ac on, ac becomes just fan so I’d have to off the ac, but at 60km/h and below, it doesn’t overheat, whenever the overheating starts, I usually off the ac and the temp comes down to half of the temp gage... som1 said one of the fans might not be as powerful as it should be... another said he would work on my car’s water system... not that there’s anything wrong with it but he wants to do some engineering magic to help with the overheating

But this is usually prevalent during hot temperatures especially when the sun is hottest but that’s when I need my ac working the most

The car has number plate but it was removed from a Honda Accord. This was found out by vio when I went to process change of ownership. Now the seller is saying the car doesn't have custom papers cos vio said i have to bring for fresh registration. What do I do? I wanted to use the car for Uber.

Thebigkendo has spoken. 0.8 hours is just for an inspection. We haven't said what is wrong yet to be quoting repair. Plus like I said in other thread, rusty bolts are easy with right equipment.

Suspension system inspection 0.8 hours

General diagnosis (should include visual suspension check) but generally 0.5-1 hour

NOTE: diagnoses are free with repair with us.

Honda accord 2006, sharp car, never been abused, never had its swaybar bushings replaced.

First try, bolts on bushing cap get broken inside subframe.


2 options, bring down subframe and get bolts out (this is risky as more things could get broken)

Another option gradually fill broken and weld a nut when it's grown tall enough . (2hrs you still on it)

Does not happen every day, but with the influx of flooded cars into the country, it is unavoidable and happens a lot.

this issue of engine replacement is a very big issue in Nigeria esp with the fact that those that rebuild are few and lack sense of responsibility.....

but with what u are offering, I think we are ready to think outside our usual confines....

I drive a 2003 bank type corolla, I recently noticed the coolant in the reservoir reduced almost to empty, no visible signs of leak in radiator hoses after inspections, radiator cap has no issues too...I have parked the vehicle as I don't want to risk overheating it....
Any idea what could be responsible?

Weeks back, I inquired for price of a 1MZ engine with VVTi for a Toyota Avalon in the cartalk chatroom and received a mention asking "Why am replacing engine?"

Prior to my enquiry, car was idling roughly and overheating after every 10 - 30km drive, my technician dismantled engine, replaced parts (bearings, 2 pistons and other stuffs) , bill was about 90-110k.
2weeks later car overheated, crankshaft knocked, in fact bad bad things happened.

Conclusion:
Grade A Japan engine 270k
Borale I heard is between 110 - 160k .

If na you, you go rebuild or replace ??

Morning Gazzuzz and other gurus in the house , i observed that my car steering is stiff, kinda hard to turn, though i still they manage am.

If am accelerating to like 50km upward, it soften and am ok with it but whenever i reduce my speed to like 40km downward the steering go just
hard.

This morning i bought fuel and as i was moving out slowly out of the filling station, steering was just too hard to turn but immediately i accelerate it became soften as usual. I know this is unusual.

Its 03 camry sir. Please what should i be looking at.

I have a 2006 Rav4 which has been used for 2years now and bought Nigerian used. Problem is this clanking sound when u drive. Mechanic says its the steering rack.. It was changed with a brand new one and the sound stopped for maybe a day and has continued ever since.. Do you have any solutions or advise. We have changed linkages, bushing etc (this was on my command as the mechanic still continues saying its the steering rack.
