how can he start with alternator when he changed the battery and the new battery drained without him even driving the car ?
I said start by checking the alternator. Some smart people would know it's one of the few components connected directly to the battery.

Oga Gazzuz, good day. Pls is it normal for air to blow out from the left side of my car AC air outlet in the dashboard while the car is on motion even when the AC is not on? I just noticed that recently and I can't remember if it has always been so. Secondly, how does one know faulty front upper arms of a car? The front upper corners of my car makes some noises as if there are losed or worn out bushes or tightenings. I have changed stabilizers linkages, later mechanics asked me to change the front shock absorbers, which I did, yet the sounds continued. The mechanic took one of the upper arms as sample to Zuba spare parts market to buy new upper arms, but he was advised that the upper arm was still OK. He came back, put it and even put more washers to make them tight, yet the sounds have continued and this is really disgusting.
take the front suspension apart that's the best way. For the a.c check vent flaps and motors

coastal oil..the mechanic just replaced the timing belt
timing belt broke without damaging the valves 2wice? You should look at other components like the waterpump and belt tensioner the bearings might be stiff.

Oga Gazzuzz. took my boss car for an oil change last week and instead of the normal 20w 50 oil we use the mechanic suggested we use 5w 30 synthetic blend..now after a week..the low oil pressure light came up..den few hours later..the timing belt broke.. we fixed it..the oil light came up again and the timing belt broke again..wat could be happening? vehicle is Honda oddysey with over 160k miles.
no noise...no oil burning and no oil shortage
what was the brand of 5w30 used? When you say "we fixed it" what do you mean? What was replaced?

House Please there's something weird about my suv. When the gear is in drive and I apply the brakes to a halt eg in traffic sometimes The car continues to rev between 0 and 1000r/min and behaves as if it wants to jump and go. Now I put the gear in neutral to avoid the car driving itself and one day leaving me behind. Is this normal ?

If you look at the base of the covering you will notice it is tiled, also there a plastic chairs stacked inside. It is most likely a place of "christian" worship unfortunately most Christians to not have respect for their place of worship and require a notice like the one placed to keep bad acts away.

If this was a mosque do do you think any one would "carry woman" near that place? angry

Please I need advice on this. I noticed oil leaking somewhere behind the engine. Took it to my mechanic to check, he looks at it and says we'll have to use gum to fix it. I was in a hurry and didn't even have time to listen to that. So I'm here to seek advice from a pro. What should I do about the leak?

Transmission is a very delicate part to replace, it would be cheaper in lagos but safer to buy in ibadan. Check the "agbodi Gate" area hope I spelt it right.

@depair n Amono, the timing was readjusted today and the check light went off but came up again after 30 minutes of driving. I rescaned and the same code P0340 was up.

Please what can I do again. More contributions and advice pleaseeeeee...
tell your mechanic to open up the timing belt cover, if it falls short of this, code might come back. Also check if cam sensor is loose or dangling

Am currently having the same code on my 2006 toyota rav4
I changed the O2 sensor and spark plugs cos my scanner pointed to that direction, drove it for 30mins and the P0010 ( Camshaft position actuator circuit/ open bank 1
Negligence, connect the cam sensor, it's not connected or harness is broken.

thanks for this. a little clarification please ... what you are calling strainer..is it the same thing as transmission filter? if yes is it possible to get a new one and how much?

because my mech keeps saying something about washing what is blocked. and new one isn't available where we are. I usually prefer to replace with brand new.
Looks like this, and you can wash in the absence of a replacement if you can't get one to buy.

that's what he said too. we will bring down the gear box and assess one we get back to base.hope is just particles.
I see no point in bringing down the entire gear box (6hr job)

Unsrew the bottom oil pan (15mins) replace strainer wash pan seal up (another 30mins) then refil and drive test.

If it works you smile, if it does not then you can think of bringing it down.

update. .

went with my mech to pick the car. he scanned engine and transmission no codes.

he removed the solenoid switch and tried to move , same issues still persisted.

he now hit something under the transmission car moves. we are in motion now.
A clogged strainer.

The impact made the dirty particles fall and allow transmission fluid to be pumped, but they will be back sad. Hopefully you might be able to escape with a strainer replacement and fluid drain and refill.
