Your story funny die as I have been in that shoe before, but let me tell you the latest one I had. I had the interview with a Nigerian company , as I logged in with my Zoom , we were doing audio and the male interviewer said he wanted to see my face, and we can switch back to audio later, as I switched, na so my camera was showing upside down. I no fit laugh as I am imagining how he will turn his head to see my face. I am already working in an IT company for more than five years, so I was not scared about the outcome of the interview, I am just looking for a change in package and environment. But as usual he said he will get back to me.

If he stays in Lagos, and since he is a graduate he should go and look for intern job as a programmer. He should not look at money if it is small.

All he need is information in the right direction not just wishes. He should look for mentors, because his dreams are achievable. I am in the IT field and I know it is possible to get those jobs but you must be really good at what you do.

During the infant stage of our relationship I actually got fed up and prayed that God should give me the strength to forget him if he's not mine, but if he's mine let him have a change of heart. He changed less than two weeks after that prayer I don't know if its a coincidence though. Something like happened in one NYSC camp, and it was discovered that the lecturer, who was her boyfriend arranged her passage through Polytechnic. The only thing you can do for him is to arrange evening class for him to learn how to write. Employ someone to teach him.

I have tried everything possible within my capacity to help this guy but to no avail.
My friend is 22 and currently in one of the federal polytechnic here in Nigeria. This guy can speak good english well but the problem is he can not read nor write, the only thing he can write down is his name and Reg. No.

Last year, before first semester exam. I noticed that this guy is always avoiding conversation that involves reading or studying. I never saw him read, not even once. We are neighbours and friends.

I just decided to take it upon myself to find out what was wrong as I know, he is a good person but hiding something. So I offered to be helping him with his assignments and handout summary to my amazement the guy find it hard to read what I smartly asked him to. He refused to admit that he can't read, probably he was a shame to admit it, so I let him be.

He, then finally opens up to me about him not been able to read and write. Of course, this was after first semesters exam and I had to perster him before he was able to tell me of his secret. How have you been writing the exam then? I asked, he said "I submit blank paper" when the result came out he had 6 COs (carry overs).

Again, I offered to help. I did all his assignments, encourage him to write something in all his test, He improved on his CA and others except for reading as I told him to at list write some thing down.even if it means coping from someone siting next to him without getting caught, I'm not encouraging exam malpractice but he needed help urgently.

Now here's my major challenge and concern, Since January this year, I have used Queen's Premier, used other English materials, vowel and consonant sound

The only thing he's been able to read are just few two letter words. Thought I was the problem, so I lied to a friend who happens to be a lecturer that the guy needs help, and that he's finding it hard to understand his books. The lecturer agreed to help but later told the guy not to come again as the guy is still not getting any thing.

Please, help.... the guy want to learn but I don't know what exactly could be the problem.

Did he sign any bond, in the documentation of the training (repayment or work time)
Did he sign that his salary be paid every six month (the company has been violating labour law that staff be paid after 30 days)

Except if the lawyer is a betrayer or he doesnt know what he is doing and he is collecting money for free, the company does not have anything on him if he didn't sign anything.

He should try these public lawyer that help people.

I am writing this because I feel the management of this company is a group of people who do not want its workers to succeed.

My brother worked for this company for about 5 years, and within these 5 years, salary has never been consistent.

At times they may even stay up to six months before they pay one month

Even when his wife gave birth he met with them and asked them to help him with little money to cushion the cost of the hospital bills, but all to no avail.

Not only the fact that they were not paying salaries, but they were not also remitting his pensions.

You know what that means, these pensions are supposed to be paid on time to enable them to compound in interest.

Before he resigned they were owing to him four months' salary.

He was willing to let it go

So he left without getting paid

As soon as he left it wasn't even up to a week they paid him four months salary at once

After they paid him the salary they sent him a letter that he should come and pay them some money as a sort of compensation to them.

When my brother talked about the fact that they also owe him a pension, it didn't take them a week to remit pension of over 1 year 6 months

So they took him to court, ever since then my brother has been paying a lawyer who has been demanding money-wise.

This is a company that will sack its workers without any sort of compensation.

I feel they are doing this just to create fear in the mind of all the workers in the company so they can also tread with caution, but the effect of their decision is telling on my brother.

Right now he is not concentrating and he is spending money that he doesn't have.

Some time ago they gave him the training he did online and they claim they sent him to Australia to study.

And thereby he should pay them 2 million as compensation.

Guys please I need your advice and how he could handle this case very well.

Thats good, but why nt get a system an d start learning a skill, it might add up at the end of the day.

I blame OP for not specifying all the job responsibilities, especially an aspect that is very key like computer usage, you could have saved yourself a whole lot of time if you had stated that the position requires computer knowledge.

It's not just the fact that she forgot, it's that she's not invested in what we have. I've taken her out on a couple of dates where the majority of the time she was on her phone and not being receptive to my feelings even though I asked her politely to put it away.

Whenever she wants something from me she uses words like "baby" but soons as I send her money it's crickets from then on. Anytime I text her during the day to see how her day is she doesnt reply back and even when she does its "good" or "okay", quick short answers and doesnt reciprocate by asking about mines.

The birthday was the last straw because I had texted her few days ago and she completely ignored me until the day after apologising but only because hers is coming up in a few weeks and probably doesnt want to burn that bridge. We’ve been married for six good years and my wife earned that much without my knowledge? How much she earned didn’t bother me a lot than what she was using that money for. I decided not to talk immediately but rather do a little bit of investigation.

All my life I’ve held the view that it wasn’t right for anyone to go through their partner’s phone. It’s an invasion of privacy and it breeds mistrust in the relationship but that night, going through her phone was the only way to find out what I was looking for. I started with her best friend. Nothing much was found. Her family had a Whatsapp group. I read the messages there. I got few hints. We left it there. Some minutes later she came to me with her phone: “My father wants to talk to you.” The phone was already on a loudspeaker. His father was clearly angry. He asked, almost shouting, “You said I told you my daughter has a building? Where did I say that and when?” I asked, “Is it not true that my wife has a building project going on that you’re supervising?”  He asked me, “I told you that?” I asked, “Is it true or not?” After the back and forth I told them, “I read your messages last night. I saw the pictures. I read the various budget you had sent to my wife. I read the confirmation of the money receipts that you sent her. You’re a man. Would you be happy if your wife does this to you?” He started fumbling. He started apologizing saying he thought I was aware.”


My wife stood there motionless, didn’t know what to say. When her father hung up, I told her everything I knew, from her salary to the car she bought for her brother. I said, “Yet, even your sanitary pad, I buy them. You think I’m a fool? You’ll use your money to acquire your own properties and live on mine because you’re my wife? I hear. We’ll see.”

Trust was lost. Love was broken. We had to find a new way of living our lives going forward. Her father called me every morning and evening apologizing for everything and sometimes taking up the blame so I didn’t have to blame his daughter. I told him, “The emotional state I’m in right now, it would be hard to think straight or think forgiveness. Just give me space.” Three days later, they were in our house. The father, the mother, and the senior brother. They came to apologize. “Don’t let this break up the beautiful marriage you both have. If nothing at all, consider the kids and be lenient in your judgment.”

I listened to them. My position was still the same. “I need time to clear my mind. Just leave me alone to think.” From last month to this moment that I’m writing this, my wife had changed totally. She doesn’t ask for money but the house is being run smoothly. She has started paying for things she never paid for but that doesn’t move me. She has taught me a very great lesson and I’m taking it seriously. That in everything, I have to look out for myself and my family first. Last she told me, “If you want us to change the names on those properties, we can do so.” Guess whose name is on the property…her father’s name.”

I told her, “You don’t need to change anything. They are yours. You suffered for them so you can decide what you want to do with them.” The land I bought has our names. I’m selling it and take my money back. The car she’s driving has her name. I put a for-sale sticker on it some weeks ago. She agreed she’ll pay for the car. I’ve given her two months to pay up or I sell it and take my money. She’s getting the message and I’m glad. Each one for himself, God for us all. She keeps asking if I’m going to leave her. I keep telling her I won’t but if she wants a divorce, I will gladly give her. I’m not going to leave the marriage. I would give us some time to heal and see what may happen but when it comes to money, I’ve taken the lesson she taught me through her actions.

Chai , I no fit laugh o. The OP is ignorant of what it takes to learn just one language, and he packs all those requirement and he is calling 75k.

This one is probably your mistake, the job advert mast have stated that someone with experience is needed and you overlooked that.

I left my previous job earlier this year to a new startup, the reason I left was because my previous workplace wasn't structured, it was a one man business, closed late most times 10pm, I stay at egbeda and work on the island, pay less than 100k, I already worked for 2years...I was really fed up that's why I left

I was excited to join the company, but it turned out to be a bad decision, in my previous office, we were working with a non familiar language, but I was learning java at the side, my new job was based on java so I was excited to join because I will gain more knowledge on the language and come in as an intern.


I didn't know I was to replace the java developer that was there. To cut the long story short, I was asked to leave the second week. It was really sad for me.

I had to talk some people to speak to my former boss about returning back. I actually didn't want to return but my parents asked me to.

Now I'm stuck till probably next year

Thanks for your suggestion. I have sent WAEC an email, still waiting for their reply and I thought there must be at least one person on this forum that must have recently been to a WAEC office who can help verify this.
