pocohantas: Well said. Forget his opening post. That response you quoted is his main thought towards NIDs. They know Nigerians abroad wash corpses, yet they won’t stop begging them for money? Lol! Unfortunately, he doesn't know any Nigerian doing great things abroad except those washing dead bodies yet claims he is doing so well and earning in dollars. The guy is just a wannabe. |

Only poor irrelevant Nigerians like u relocate, that's the truth. Lol Apparently, this is the thought on your mind you wanted to express. Your thoughts alone suggest you're very poor in spirit. |

descarado: Look at this soup. You only make this type for your inlaw. They will rinse mouth with better palmwine.
There are two types of palm wine. I'm sure many of us don't have any idea . Nkwù enu and ngwò. Nkwù enu is more expensive.
Nkwu enu is usually giving to in-laws and important dignitaries. The taste is diff and sweater on the first day before fermentation sets in. Ngwò is for the masses. Experts always know which one is which when they taste. Most times sellers mix the two. They also know how old it is through testing. Nkwù enu is from normal palm tree in people's farms or compounds while ngwò is at the base of streams, rivers bush etc. Its always around water most of the time. It's like wild palm tree.
Picture of the two. I feel honored. I made it for me and my madam. She is the representative of the in-laws. |

The issue is different people go into marriage for different reasons and once they are not aligned, this is bound to happen. |
Romance › Re: Ladies In Relationship With Men Who Earn ₦100k And Below, Please How Do You Cope by GboyegaD(m): 6:33pm On Aug 21, 2022 |
Rozross: Domestic stuff is not his work? Ok What makes you think taking part of the financial responsibility is your work? You mentioned Support and is the husband helping out domestically not a support? Personally I don’t like to see men doing domestic chores but i believe if you are in a marriage where you provide financially as a wife then there’s nothing equally wrong if the husband provides domestic support as well. One song came to mind while reading this. It goes thus: "Aimo lo nse o, pe gbogbo ohun to ndan ko mi wura omoge; To ba di gbana a ye o, oju re a ja to ba ye o na...". Which means not all that glitters is gold and this you will learn at the right time with great lessons. There are homes where the wife doesn't earn a single dime and the husband still helps a lot with the chores and some where the woman carries most of the financial responsibilities and the man doesn't do a thing in the marriage. All it implies is that each home is unique and have its dynamics. |

Rozross: Solely plan on the 100k first before thinking of what the other person brings to the table. Any man with such “bring to the table” mindset does not go far in life, let’s be realistic for once. Apparently, you have no objective reason for creating your thread. If you think he wouldn't go far, let him be instead of trying to leech on him. |

Blessedmercy8: Hmm... We are still getting to know each other though but he's seriously itching to settle down considering his age and he's not trying to give us time to know if we are what we really want in all ramifications.
Ok, thanks. If at the age you guys are you need so much time to know if each other are what you really want then, there is fire in the mountain. I am sure you were not pressured to say yes to dating him thus, you guys should be able to tabl the most important things you are looking for in a partner and size each other up to know if it is worth it. |
Family › Re: Is It Advisable To Marry A Man Earning 100k In This Present Economy. Ur Sincere by GboyegaD(m): 1:12pm On Aug 20, 2022 |
GenderMix: No doubt money is very key to sustaining a marriage. Infact it's one of the key ingredients that can help grease love. The lack of money can make love go sour...lol...
Having said that, marriage has an ultimate aim which is for companionship. As far as both of you have the drive to succeed and are not lazy and can cut you cloth according to your size then the amount may just be inconsequential.
If the man earns 100k, he has the qualities you like and is focused then you can start with that. Just ensure he has common sense and listens to advise. It doesn't matter if as a lady you earn higher than him. You guys should have plans and execute them together. Just encourage him by supporting him financially. Just assist him but let him be the one to take care of the major bills.
Plan around the money you earn. Don't live above your means. There are pragmatic means you can adopt to cut cost. Forget the pressure around, most of what you see are illusions. Just focus on your happiness.
I wish you best of luck. Even when she earns higher than him? |

Is it advisable to enter into marriage with such income considering the situation of the economy? Yes, they can get married however, they should try to increase their economic capacity as a family. Two good heads are better than one. |

It isn't yours. She can't be two weeks pregnant as pregnancy is counted from the 1st day of last menstrual period. Tell her you aren't coming and demand a DNA in advance. She will open up and if she doesn't, Wai till the child is born and once it is confirmed the baby isn't yours get her sorry ass jailed. |
Travel › Re: IATA Reacts To Emirates Suspension Of Flights From Nigeria by GboyegaD(m): 1:59pm On Aug 19, 2022 |
mach7: This is a really tough situation. Nigeria is blocking the repatriation of funds NOT because it wants to damage its reputation or deprive Emirates of its money, but we are really on strings now.
Every USD in the economy has to be scavenged and kept aside to finance importation - both of fuel and food.
Instead of insulting the government, Nigerians now need to be more patriotic in putting up a united front. For now, with the absence of Emirates and soon to be other international airlines, we should actively support our local airlines like Arik Air who are flying international routes and quickly launch Nigerian Air to complement them.
Emirates and by extension IATA should be patient and calm down. They will get their funds in due time, let's fix ourselves first. This is not fixing Nigeria. It is only worsening things. |

Someone shared a few posts from the food thread, I've been meaning to tell you and GboyegaD, your kitchen backgrounds and kitchen-wares are lovelier than the the meals you post.
I spent more time soaking in the backgrounds and admiring it than I did your cooked food. I'm not a foodie who loves cooking so the attraction for me was the clean and lovely kitchen. Thank you for the feedback. Truth is I am not a photo person and that could be the cause. I will try to improve on this. |
Career › Re: What Was Your Childhood Ambition And Which Work Are You Doing Now? (Pic) by GboyegaD(m): 5:17pm On Aug 17, 2022 |
It changed from time to time as I grew up.
Initially, I had intentions of becoming a lawyer however, I learned lawyers lie and my innocence then made me change ambition.
Going into High School, I was posted to the sciences but I just felt I wanted something different and at that point I wanted to be a Chartered Accountant. Getting to my final year, I changed because I loved Economics and then decided I was going to have a PhD. I wanted to be both a Professor and a Bank MD at the same time.
Today, I have dropped the Professor thought and I have the PhD in Economics as I desired. Right now, I am back into the banking space and thinking about growing up and my ambitions, I am reawaken to the thought of becoming an MD. This might be tough but I will do some soul searching to see how I can make this happen if possible.
Thank you for this topic at this time. |
