A group of young Nigerians, GYB2PYB, has thrown its weight behind Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, over his claim on COVID-19 vaccine that has generated so much controversy. In a statement, signed on Friday by the Director-General of GYB2PYB, Amb Oladele Nihi, the group replied the Nigeria Governors' Forum, NGF, following its counter comment on governor Bello's debated claim. Recall the NGF on Thursday, 21 January 2021, has said Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State is entitled to his opinion over the reality or otherwise of the COVID-19 pandemic and the purpose of the vaccines, but that he should not risk the lives of the citizens of his state. Reacting, Mr. Nihi described Yahaya Bello's message to Nigerians as 'resonating' while calling on the forum to desist from playing political gimmicks over the matter. "It appears Governor Fayemi is confused and not sure of how to go about his Presidential ambition, and seeing how GYB (Governor Yahaya Bello) have dominated the political space, has chosen to convert his Chairmanship of the Governors' forum to his campaign tool. "GYB did not speak on behalf of the Governors' forum, Governors' forum is not the spokesperson of the PTF," he said. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/you-re-not-ptf-s-spokesperson-group-tackles-fayemi-over-yahaya

The Lagos State Ministry of Justice has set up a panel of inquiry to settle the lingering land tussle between a Lagos-based lawyer, Monday Ubani, Gilbert Oladehinde Meadow's Family and Engineer Akeem Abiodun Ariori over Monkey Village, situated at Opebi area of the state. Ariori, the chairman Prosperous Ariori Golden Ventures, was given a mandate by the Meadows family to develop the land at Folorunso Kuku street in Opebi area of the state. It will be recalled that Ubani had accused the Lagos state government and its agency for being biased and working in connivance with engineer Ariori for illegally encroachment of his client's land eventhough he failed to mention the names of his client in the purported article. The state government on Monday 10th of January 2021 had set up a panel of enquiry to look in to the disputed land in question and all parties were invited and submitted their unbiased investigations on the purported expanse of Land. Ubani’s purported Certificate of occupancy was floored by the panelist as it was referred to as a paper that does not have origin. Ubani had also begged the panelist to instruct the Meadows and Engineer Abiodun Ariori to stop work on the land, but the panel declined as original survey of the land proved that the land is owned by Gilbert Meadows, adding that Ariori is an attorney to the purported land. The counsel to Ariori, Francis Monye applauded the panelist and explained to the media on facts about the purported Land in question. Monye in his remark said that Ubani had alluded to the fact that his client has a Certificate of Occupancy over the land, saying that the lawyer should know better that a Certificate of Occupancy is mere evidence of title; it is a nullity where no valid title exists. According to him, "This proposition of the law was fairly settled per Nnaemeka-Agu JSC in Ogunleye v Oni as follows: “No doubt, proof of a grant is one of the five ways of proving title……… But it would be wrong to assume, as learned trial judge did in this case, that all that a person who resorts to a grant as a method of proving title to land needs to do is to produce the document of grant and rest his case. Rather, whereas, depending upon the issues that emerged on the pleadings, it may suffice where the title of the grantor has been admitted, a different situation arises….. Where an issue has been raised as to the title of the grantor. "In such a case, the origin of the grantor’s title has to be averred on the pleadings and proved by evidence. In the instant case, what is the origin of the title of Mr. Ubani’s Client. He hasn’t supplied details or particulars of the Certificate of Occupancy to the general public so that his claims may be verified, yet he ran to the media space to castigate and cast aspersions on our Client and the Meadows family without any factual justification. "Ubani has also emphasised the act of long possession, acts of long possession amount to mere probability of ownership and the party’s claim fails upon proof of a good root of title by the other party. In this context, Mr Ubani knows that the title of his client coupled with the long possession is that of a trespasser or a squatter and would not enable the latter to succeed against the Meadows. "Furthermore, the law is that acts of ownership must be numerous and positive, to be positive, the acts must be assertive not passive, adverse not consistent with the claim of the other party. It is on record that the occupier of No. 2 Foluronsho Kuku Street, Opebi in the person of Chief S.F. Kuku had sued the Meadows Family in Suit No: ID/1270/90 over the land covered by Certificate of Occupancy dated 3rd July 1986 registered as 15/15/1986H and also the occupier of 8, Ibadan Close, Opebi, Ikeja whose Certificate of Occupancy was registered No. 52/52/1991AP all came to ratify their title with the Meadows Family after the pronouncement of their Ownership to the land covered by the judgment of the High Court of Lagos State and affirmed by the Court of Appeal. "All these properties falls within the land covered by the survey Mr. Ubani should state the contrary if the address of the land is not No. 1 Folorunsho Kuku Street. All these properties fall within Survey No OGEK 1911/81 ordered by the Court in Suit No: LD /513/80. We leave it at this for now. However, we just want the general public to know particularly the Lagos State Government that our Client in the person of Engineer Abiodun Ariori acted within the confines of the law. Do not be swayed by the hypocrisy of Mr. M.O. Ubani." When contacted, Ubani, via a telephone call, said the land has a certificate of occupancy of over 30 years and the matter is presently in court.

Popular Kogi-born activist Comrade Usman Okai Austin has raised another alarm over the heightened security challenge in the State, accusing the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello of abandoning the State in the name of his presidential ambition. The PDP stalwart, who described the assassination of a Saudi-based oil explorer Mr Ogacheko Atanu, in his own compound at Idah, Kogi state as a major danger signal, said it was getting to a level where residents of the State will not even be safe in their bedrooms. According to a statement made available to Vanguard on Monday, the activist said; "It is sad and shameful that while Atanu was killed right in his compound on Saturday, Governor Yahaya Bello was nowhere near the State, was seen in Chief of Naval Staff office in Abuja praising Navy for improved security in IDAH which once again has confirmed the fact that the governor is disconnected from reality on ground and not in touch with happening." He added; "It should be recalled that even on December 25, 2020, when Christmas was being celebrated, the kidnappers operated unhindered in Kogi, raking millions from their victims. "It is also more worrisome that all these are happening under a governor who claimed to be ready for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I begin to wonder what manner of president will Bello be where his own people are kidnapped left, right and center in the state he is governing. "It is either Governor Bello is grossly incompetent or he is simply looking the other way while Kogites are being assassinated, kidnapped by bandits so that those he believed can make him either President or Vice President in 2023 can adjudge him as being politically correct." http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/leave-presidential-ambition-face-security-in-kogi-activist

Arogbonlo Israel It is no gainsaying that most Nigerians do not believe COVID-19 is real in spite of very compelling evidence including the rise in the number of recorded cases in recent weeks. In this article, we take a look at some of the reasons most Nigerians still doubt the existence of the pandemic in the country. Here are the reasons; 1. Most Nigerians believe that, the fact people are not dropping dead as they are in the US and Europe is enough reason to believe COVID-19 is fake and this erroneous assumption has led many to their early graves. 2. Another major reason is the body language of influential Nigerians. Most government officials, political leaders, influential people and celebrities have generally carried on like there’s no COVID-19. It is not a rare sight to see them at events (otherwise super spreaders) without masks and not observing social distancing. A recent example is the Napoli forward Victor Osimhen who was fined by his club for violating the COVID-19 protocols during his celebration in Lagos. 3. The role of religious leaders and conspiracy theorists: The scandalous teachings by some religious leaders is also a contributory factor to the 'non-existence' of COVID-19 by most Nigerians who see the former as idols that should be worshipped. They see most of the erroneous teachings on COVID-19 by these religious leaders as being true, as such, there is an illusion of 'Corona is scam' in their minds. You would recall a Nigerian pastor once described COVID-19 as an idea from the pit of hell and a conspiracy against the Church while others see it as a 'technological warfare' between the US and China. 4. Payment for negative test results: This was widely reported by many media outlets and some independent journalists on social media. That has contributed to putting a lie to the story of COVID-19 and even further fueled the story belief that the pandemic is an enterprise for government officials to steal public funds. 5. The Nigerian mentality: Nigerians are people with distinct ideologies and mindsets. More often than not, the people have the believe that bad leadership is the major cause of poverty and corruption in the country, hence, they see every leader as corrupt and morally bankrupt because of what they were made to believe. This mindset has affected the attitude of most Nigerians to the management of COVID-19 by government agencies, especially the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Some persons believe the government officials are only enriching themselves and have little or no sympathy for the masses who are the direct victims of this inhumane act. It is on this note, I recommend that the various authorities saddled with the responsibility of managing and controlling the spread of COVID-19 in the country should as a matter of urgency look into the highlighted reasons and re-strategise ways to improve upon their service to Nigerians because 'the death of one Nigerian is death of ALL'. Strike while the iron is hot! http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/quick-facts-why-most-nigerians-think-covid-19-is-scam

Federal Government has said it will be left with no option than to impose a fresh lockdown in the country if the number of COVID-19 infections continues to spike. The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVIF-19, Sani Aliyu, stated this on Friday during a media briefing in Abuja. However, some Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the news, saying the Federal Government should also be ready for another phase of the #ENDSARS protest if peradventure the country would be lockdown as a result of the rise in COVID-19 cases. Here are the screenshots of some reactions gathered by Vanguard; http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/lock-us-see-second-wave-of-endsars-social-media-reacts

AN engineer, Abiodun Ariori, has faulted allegations by a former Second Vice-President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Monday Ubani, that he acted illegally last Thursday while recovering landed property in Ikeja area of Lagos. Ubani claimed in a Facebook post on December 31 that Ariori procured land grabbers and officials of Lagos State Government, who illegally invaded and forcibly occupied Monkey Village, around Opebi and demolished residents’ houses. But, in a statement, Ariori denied being a land grabber, adding that the government officials merely enforced a Supreme Court judgment in favour of judgment-creditor, the Meadows family. He said: “We’ve been in possession of the land (Opebi) for more than 20 years. About six months ago, we were trying to erect some structures on the land when we found out that some mechanics had taken over the place and we reported them to Zone II (Police Command) of which they were all arrested. That’s when we met lawyer Ubani, who came to facilitate their bail and ordered them back to our land that has Supreme Court verdict backing us. Since we’ve been trying to work on that land, he (lawyer Ubani) has been using police to frustrate our efforts. “So, our lawyer wrote a petition to the Attorney General of the State to assist on the issue of which they obliged. Based on that, the Lagos State Government carried out further investigation about the matter. Before then, the people in the area wrote the government to eject the miscreants out of the land as a result of their criminalities. The State Government carried out the execution on the 31st of December, last year. I was surprised when lawyer Ubani started attacking me while calling me several names in the media.” In his post, Ubani alleged that he had filed a suit against anyone claiming that they were enforcing a Supreme Court judgment by invading the land, but that no one had filed any response to the suit. https://thenationonlineng.net/monkey-village-demolition-i-acted-legally-says-engineer/

Amidst the daunting challenges and problems faced in 2020, some National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members didn't only render their service to the country, but voluntarily took upon themselves some pivotal responsibilities to offer unconstitutional tasks to humanity. However, the list of the best members of the scheme for the year 2020 was carefully done by the writer through the provision and availability of well-scrutinised research information, of the efforts and accomplishments of these corps members to their host communities, government, and the country at large. Nonetheless, below are the names, states and accomplishments of the best corps member heroes for 2020: 1.Olufunke Afesojaye: Is a graduate of English Language from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), who hails from Ondo State. She's a 2019/2020 Batch 'A' corps member in Yobe State. Afesojaye distributed free sanitary pads to over 800 female students in two secondary schools in the state. Also, she built two public toilets as her Community Development Service (CDS) project for the Damaturu community, the state capital and embarked on an aggressive sensitisation of students on menstrual hygiene. 2. Patrick Nyah: Is a corps member of Abia State who built and donated a two-bedroom bungalow to a widow who he saw when she was ejected from her rented apartment by her landlord. According to him, his initial plan was to print about 2,000 copies of exercise books as donation to students of his PPA, Ibere Comprehensive Secondary School but later changed his plan after his encounter with the widow. He said he later went round the community to seek for sponsors towards executing the project. In her response, the widow, Mrs. Blessing Onyekwere, who almost broke down in tears thanked corps member Patrick and prayed God to bless him immensely for his kind gesture towards her and the children. 3. Abdullahi Sani: Is a graduate of Civil Engineering; a Batch 'B' Stream I Kano corps member who on May 11, 2020, intellectually crafted an automated machine that dispensed water and soap. According to reliable sources, he constructed the machine with the intent to support the state government in an effort to tame the horrific pandemic. His words, “The machine will lessen the burden of using hands to press the liquid soap button and hand wash system by users.” Indeed, the corps member has proved right the popular maxim by John Kennedy, "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." 4. Arogbonlo Idowu Israel: Is a Kogi born- Ondo State corps member, studied Mass Communication at Kogi State University (KSU) now Prince Audu Abubaker University (PAAU). Corps member Israel donated his one-month stipend on April 8, 2020, to Ondo State government in support to raise funds for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the country. A good action that made some media juggernauts and persons to label him 'hypocritical corper' (offering government his allowance in bid to receive appointment after service). But despite the backlashes, the gentle corps member went further on October 6, 2020 to execute a project worth thousands of naira by providing a standardised toilet for the pupils of St. Theresa Primary school, a 73-year-old community school who has for long suffered in the hands of open defecation. The aforementioned school is located in the capital city of Ondo. Also, records have it that, the Sunshine corps member still did some other laudable projects in the state that stood him out as one of the best corps members in the history of Ondo NYSC. 5. Joy Chioma Anyaebu: Is a Jos State corps member who produced and donated to the State Government sanitizers and liquid soap in support of the effort to reduce the spread of the deadly Coronavirus. Thus, Anyaebu proudly joined the league of corps members who deepened the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. 6. Isa Ismail: Is a graduate of Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kaduna (BUK), served at the Abuja office of Image Merchant Promotion Limited. He made use of his news reporting talent and opinion writing skills in promoting the scheme, youth development and national integrity. He also used is pen as a tool to correct some societal ills. From the records, on June 3, 2020, he was awarded the best corps writer in Abuja by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), for portraying the Scheme in a positive light through several ‘top-notch’ stories and edifying articles, which were published on PR Nigeria, and notable national dailies including The Punch, Daily Trust, The Guardian, The Nation, Tribune, and Blueprint newspapers, among others. 7. Wonah Sunday Owuche: Is a Niger State corps member who donated food packs and sanitary items to the Niger State orphanage home Minna. Owuche has shown us that there is great virtue in kindness and should be extended to all around us. 8. Hodo Bassey: Is a graduate of Tourism and Hospitality Management from Cross River University of Technology, served as a corps member in the aforementioned state. Just like his colleague in Ondo, corps member Bassey donated his March stipend to the Cross River Government to help in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. The donation was received by Dr Betta Edu, the state Commissioner for Health and Head of COVID-19 Taskforce in the state. Notwithstanding, this list of Top Eight Corps Members Heroes for the year 2020 is awarded by the virtue and record of the good works of the corps members to national development. A statement not to state that only these selected ones performed well as best corps members in 2020. Indeed, the NYSC remains a strategic institution and great asset to the nation. There is no gainsaying the fact that with the Scheme, the nation has put in place an enduring instrument of national cohesion and development, reckoned with, within and beyond the shores of Nigeria. Omopariola Nehemiah, a student of Mass Communication, writes in from Kogi. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/c2020

The Ethiopian calendar is a solar calendar based on the Egyptian and Julian calendars and was brought to Ethiopia by missionaries. The year consists of 12 months of 30 days and a thirteenth month of five or six timekeeping days. Pagume, the 13th month in the Ethiopian calendar, comes from the Greek word epagomene, which means ‘days forgotten when a year is calculated’. This month has five days or six days in a leap year. According to the Ethiopian calendar, a year has 365 days, six hours, two minutes and 24 seconds. Once every four years, the six hours add up to 24 hours and become the sixth day in a leap year. Once in 600 years, the two minutes and 24 seconds add up to a full day and form a seventh day. Based on the Julian calendar basis, the Ethiopian calendar is currently seven years and eight months behind the Gregorian calendar used in most of the world. Enkutatash means the 'gift of jewels'. It is said to refer to the Queen of Sheba returning from her visit to King Solomon in Jerusalem in 980 BC. On the Queen's arrival back in Ethiopia, her chiefs welcomed her by filling her treasury with jewels ('enku'). It may also refer to the countryside, as this time of year coincides with the end of the rainy season meaning the landscape is covered with Adey Abeba, whose bright yellow flowers appear almost in celebration of the impending harvest. Celebrations for the Ethiopian New Year usually last for a week and are focused on family events. The holiday starts on New Year's Eve, when each household light wooden torches called "chibo" in Amharic language, that symbolise the coming of the new season of sunshine after the end of the rainy season that has prevailed since June. According to reports extracted from Google, it's gathered Nigeria is only 2 hours behind Ethiopia, hence, leaving many to debate the idea of Ethiopian time as mere myth or reality? http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/e2021

A new WhatsApp update will prevent the popular messaging app from working on millions of phones from 1 January 2021. Older Android and iPhone devices will no longer support the latest version of the app, forcing owners to either update their mobile operating system or buy a new smartphone, Yahoo News reports. Any iPhone not running iOS 9 or newer, or any phone not running at least Android 4.0.3 – also known as Ice Cream Sandwich – will no longer be able to open or operate the Facebook-owned app. This means all iPhone models up to the iPhone 4 will be unable to support WhatsApp, as these phones are not capable of updating to iOS 9. The iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S were all released before iOS 9, however owners can still update to the operating system if they are yet to do so. Android phones that will lose WhatsApp support include the Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Desire and LG Optimus Black. Phone owners can see what software their device is using by checking the settings section. For iPhone users, this can be found under Settings > General > Software update. Most of the 2 billion WhatsApp users around the world will not be hit by the change, though the small fraction that are will likely comprise several million people worldwide. A similar update at the start of 2020 saw WhatsApp make the “tough decision” of ending support for even older phones. The leadership of the Catholic Church has thrown it’s weight behind the Bishop of the Sokoto Diocese, Dr. Hassan Kukah over his last week’s comment on the State of the nation. Reacting to the development, in a statement issued on Monday by the National Directorate of Social Communications of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria in Abuja, the church urged lovers of truth and justice to rise in defence of Bishop Kukah against the attack on his person and the attempt to discredit the simple obvious truth in his message. Bishop Kukah had in his Christmas message to Nigerians lamented the endless woes, which he said had befallen the country. He further said that the prospects of a failed state stares Nigeria in the face, with: “endless bloodletting, a collapsing economy, social anomie, domestic and community violence, kidnappings, armed robberies. “But what may have iritated those who attacked his message most was where he said that every honest Nigerian knew that “there is no way any non-Northern Muslim President could have done a fraction of what President Buhari has done by his nepotism and gotten away with it. There would have been a military coup a long time ago or we would have been at war.” However, in the statement titled: “A call in support of truth”, the Church said the situation in Nigeria no longer allows anyone to sit on the fence or show indifference. The Catholic church said: “We are quite aware of the 2020 Christmas Message by our revered Bishop Hassan Kukah and the enormous space it has enjoyed on social media and in public sphere. As expected, the agents of evil have gathered to attack the person of the Bishop and to discredit the simple obvious truth of the message. This is the stock in trade of evil people. However, they often succeed when good people, Christians, choose to do nothing. “I am therefore calling our attention to this new development so that we can all rise in unison and stand for truth”. The Catholic Church said that everyone must choose and stand up for what he or she believed in. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/bbcy

The 17-year old Igala born girl, Shaibu Ojonugwa Favour who was reported to have made 5As, 2Bs and a C in her West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has been gifted a cash sum of Hundred Thousand Naira (#100,000) and an assurance of scholarship upon her admission into a higher institution. Favor's uncle, Robert Arome made this known to our reporter on Tuesday evening. According to Robert, Prophet Gideon Isah of Household of Mercy & Deliverance Ministries, Lokoja looked out for Favour after the news of her WAEC result broke out on the social media. The uncle added that the Prophet said he was inspired by the girl's WAEC result because he had similar O'level result. He also promised to support her if she secures admission. While registering his appreciation to the pastor, Robert called on other personalities in the society to emulate the good gesture as that would give every girl child a hope to put more efforts in studies. Pastor Mike Bamiloye has said a word of prayer for single men, saying ladies who aren’t God’s will for them should turn down their proposals. Saying a word of prayer for men carrying visions and destinies of multitudes, Pastor Mike prayed that all ladies who are not God’s will for their life turn down their proposals. According to him, it’s his prayers that they will continually be disappointed by ladies who are not God’s will for their lives until the vision carrier shows up. His prayer is harmless and only wishing for the best for men with vision but some men might not be pleased with it based on how they understand it. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/may-all-sisters-who-re-not-god-s-will-for-your-life-turn-down

Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari clocks 78 years on Thursday,17th December 2020. Buhari first became Nigeria leader at about 30 years of age. Vanguard has gathered some interesting facts about the 78-year-old Nigeria leader; Muhammadu Buhari GCFR (born 17 December 1942) is a Nigerian politician who has been president of Nigeria since 2015. He is a retired Major General of the Nigerian Army and served as military head of state from 1983 to 1985, after taking power in a military coup d'état. The term Buharism is ascribed to the right-wing policies of his military regime. Buhari has said that he takes responsibility for anything over which he presided during his military rule, and that he cannot change the past. He has described himself as a "converted democrat". Buhari ran for president of Nigeria in 2003, 2007, and 2011. In December 2014, he emerged as the nominee of the All Progressives Congress for the 2015 general election. Buhari won the election, defeating incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. This was the first time in the history of Nigeria that an incumbent president lost a general election. He was sworn in on 29 May 2015. In February 2019, Buhari was reelected, defeating his closest rival former Vice President Atiku Abubakar by over 3 million votes. The leader of the terrorist Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, has faulted several claims by the Nigerian government as well as the military and Katsina State government on the number of schoolboys kidnapped from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, on Friday, December 11, saying the number of students they abducted was 523. Though the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari said that 333 students were abducted by the bandits, a claim corroborated by the Nigerian Army, the Presidency, through Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, disagreed with the figure, insisting that it was 10 students that were kidnapped. But in another voice message released by Shekau on Tuesday, December 15, the Boko Haram leader disclosed that they currently have 523 children in captivity. Soon after the abduction took place, several reports in the media had estimated that about 600 students could not be accounted for after some who had fled into the surrounding forest on the night of the abduction gradually emerged in the morning. On Sunday, December 12, Masari narrowed the figure down to 333 out of the total of 839 students in the school, and said the government was yet to be contacted by the group responsible for the abduction. “Based on the available records we have, we are still searching for 333 students through either the forest or their parents to ascertain the actual number that have been kidnapped,” Masari had said when he received a Federal Government delegation from Abuja.

Your thoughts on this poem "Bring back our girls" Was as loud as the trumpet sound Aged cry in pains As they suddenly become widows With no saviour to call helper The nation weeps! Days after days Weeks after weeks Months after months We're told to 'calm down' That our girls are coming Hope dashed in pieces The nation weeps! Chibok girls' freedom A dream that never come true Parents waiting like dogs anticipating for bones Oh! Who will bring us the saviour? A chorus becoming melodies in their broken hearts The nation weeps! "Bring back our boys" Kankara bleeds As men of the street Stormed Katsina like the coming of the son of man "Help us!!!" Students cry for safety But no saviour in sight The nation weeps! Tell our unborn children We had a beast of no nation A country that's never home for all Where boys and girls are missing In the guise of bulls and heifers eating Alas! We'll remember we had no shelter. The poet, Arogbonlo Israel, is dedicating this poem to all the victims of kidnapping (both past and present) in the country.

It's an eyesaw as I was almost lynched by some angry motorcyclists along Mile-2 overhead bridge today. As a journalist who is obligated to bring up-to-date account of story without prejudice, I dashed out to go cover the clash between commercial motorcyclists popularly known as 'Okada' riders and the yellow bus drivers (Danfo) in the Mile-2 area of Lagos. According to one of the riders who spoke to me, ""At about 12noon, an okada rider which is from the Northern part of the country was stabbed by an agbero (Danfo driver) at his neck side and immediately, he died. As I speak to you, the murderer has been taken to Signals Barrack, Mile-2. "So, we're trying to contact the police that has the authority of this jurisdiction and we want the Nigerian Army to hand over the culprit to them for proper arrest and further prosecution. We are here to calm our people (okada riders) down so as to guide against further violence because if things are not brought under control, many innocent lives would be loss in the process." On hearing his side of the story, I moved on with my investigation but never knew some of the riders had the intention to launch an attack on me because they assumed I was working against them. Before I could say 'Jack Jackson', I had about scores beating me without waiting for my explanation but all thanks to Mohammed, the head of the riders who rescued me from the hands of these 'lions'. A day I would never forget in the journey of my journalistic quest. To be continued...

A self-acclaimed prophet, Kolawole Adisa of House 50, Anike Ibikunle Street, Mosan area of Lagos, has reported his tenant to Area 'P' Police command, Gate Bus Stop for allegedly praying at nights on a regular basis. The landlord who claims to be presiding over one of the parishes of Cherubim and Serraphim (C&S) Church at Ikola area of the State, said his tenant disturbs him anytime the latter prays at night, adding that "his prayer is against the prescription of my doctor". Reacting, the tenant who simply identified himself as Engr Kenny John refuted the claims made by the landlord as 'false and concocted report' while explaining his side of the story. According to him, "I rented this apartment in 2018 and I categorically told him (landlord) of my faith, particularly my denomination as a member of Mountain of Fire where prayer is our most powerful weapon to conquer life fierest battles. "Also, I stated my terms and conditions before moving to the apartment of which I told him I wouldn't want to be staying with my landlord under the same roof to avoid some of these unforseen circumstances," he said. He continued: "The trouble started immediately he (landlord) moved in to this apartment and requested I connected him with my electricity bill and water bill respectively of which I declined. "Since then, I noticed his mood changed towards me and I never took him serious because I had many important things I paid attention to. So, I believed this is the more reason he gave me notice to quit from his house and I agreed to leave next year as stated in the letter. He should just let's go settle this in court instead of coming up with this flimsy excuse." While settling the dispute between the two parties, Officer Solomon of Area 'P' command begged them to allow peace reign amicably. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/prophet-drags-tenant-to-police-station-for-praying-at-nights
