Official 2ND ROUND FIXTURES FOR AFCON2022
Burkina Faso v Gabon
Nigeria v 3rd Group E or F
Senegal v Cape Verde
Winner Group F v Runner-up Group E
Guinea v Runner-up Group F
Cameroon v 3rd Group C or E
Winner Group E v Egypt
Morocco v Malawi
Group E is out of it already as long as group F produces a 3rd place team, we can't face a team from Group E in the second round anymore.

Equatorial Guinea currently beating Sierra Leone as I predicted. This would automatically end the fairy tale story of Sierra Leone and put Comoros through if it stays this way.

Group E first, and then F

Group F, is only if nobody qualifies as 3rd best from Group E, and this one that scores are like this, they may not qualify
From the combination in that table, as long as a 3rd placed team emerges from group A,B,E, and F, the winner of Group D plays the third placed team from Group F.

And Gambia beating Tunisia to climb to 7points plus Mali beating Mauritania to climb to 7 points leaving Tunisia on 3points...would there still be a 3rd that group
Yes because Tunisia has a superior goal difference compared to Comoros. Comoros has -2 as goal difference.
BTW Gambia cannot beat Tunisia though. Tunisia would likely win that game, I am tempted to say definitely. But no matter what happens, Group F already has a 3rd place team.

What if Algeria beats CIV and climb to 4pts and Equatorial Guinea wins Sierra Leone and climbs to 6points...CIV/Alg will both be on 4points na
Still doesn't matter as long as group F produces a third placed team which they would because group C and D have no 3rd placed team.

Our round 16 opponent is likely to be from Group F
Tunisia i.e if they loose to gambia and Mali win Mauritania
2. Gambia i.e if the loose to Tunisia and Mali wins Mauritania

Or
From group E it's likely to be
1. CIV i.e if they loose to Algeria and E/guinea wins Sierra Leone or vice versa
Definitely Group F. Group E is no longer in the equation.

Samuel kalu is badly underrated. Watch Nigeria vs south Africa 2019 nation's cup qualifier to understand what a fine winger/wing back he is

Secondly ighalo is the player that kindled Watford interest in Nigerian players. In fact, ant club owned by the pozzo family will be interested in Nigerian players and that includes udinese and Granada. Maybe Watford can start a football academy in Nigeria
Why is Kalu not in this tournament though and Etebo?

So SA is better than Nigeria because of white people? in other words you just said white people are better than black people?? You have some serious low self esteem my bru wink
To be honest, there is no shame in admitting that from the 17th century, the whites became more advanced societies than our African Kingdoms. Our various tribes and Kingdoms were sophisticated in their own ways (especially in the Arts) but the western world progressed in the sciences and with it, looted/conquered/colonised the world as we know it.
With South Africa, the British and the Dutch weren't interested in leaving. They already had banks and investments dating from the 19th century. Probably they loved the weather of Southern Africa and the South African gold.
Now, the blacks in South Africa from 1994 have been doing well and probably done more but there was already a foundation for progress. Most of Africa went straight into civil wars and several military coups after their so called independence.
South Africa has done well though and we must not overplay the racism card, but still it is true that South Africa has always been ahead.
Nigeria and the other African countries are still trying to adjust to democracy in the modern world or leadership by servitude. We were rather used to our Kingdoms, Monarchs, Dictators, and Empires. Not just blacks though but most societies. I believe Africa would rise again, but we have to go back to our roots and grow at our own pace.

Boss, shey u funny sha remember 4-4(Nigeria) 0-0(Algeria) 2-2 (ivory coast) and u mention luck, but I expect a tough and entertaining game between d two sides and funny enough d Leone stars drew with d team DAT beat guinea( ivory coast were without zaha, pepe in d starting lineup) and d same team Leone stars drew with again lost to guinea so e no balance
yeah bro they've lacklustre looking depleted, and they just came off as winners of Arab cup, reigning caf champions and holding a 34 game unbeaten run only to lose to EQG i think d best tin they will get is a draw and if they win no qualms, no goals in d past two games, to ivory coast three, hmmm, can they handle a front line of Zaha, Pepe, Cornet and Haller with Kessie in d midfield position I don talk sef
Algeria cannot survive Ivorycoast. As for Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea, the Ivory Coast keeper and defender made those silly mistakes and that doesn't happen all the time.

Twitter is one of the worst places to engage in conversation about the SE. Someone who has not watched SE in the last 5 years will be running around making comments. Dedicated circles like what we have here is quite satisfying. The quality of our interactions is rich because we passionate about the BUT more importantly informed about the SE
You're right. I also read a tweet from someone complaining about Aribo today on Twitter. He said he's not convinced about our number 10 Aribo and that is his major fear grin. The Twitter space could be damn comical most times. Many of them probably last watched the super eagles when okocha was no 10.

Mujtahida:
We better vary our game some bit. Teams will wise up to our wing play and develop strategies to contain us. All our goals have come from the wings. 2 man midfield of Aribo and Ndidi is quite thin and can be overrun easily by a tactically sound coach.
I also think Ejuke on his day is slightly better than Chuckwueze. Also, I think we can use Iwobi as an attacking midfielder. Having a 3 man midfield of Ndidi, Aribo/Nwakali and Iwobi. This is a 4-3-3 formation with Awoniyi as center forward. The only problem with this formation is what to do with Ihenacho.

Because they beat a defending champion.

I still feel that 4:4 draw with Nigeria in Benin-City changed Sierra Leonean football. They suddenly started believing in themselves.

Imagine playing draws with Nigeria twice, drawing also with Algeria and CIV. They have played the strongest teams on the continent! So what else!?

But....I think Equatorial Guinea can beat them cos Sierra Leone will come all out to secure a win and not to play another draw and get exposed in the process.
Equatorial Guinea is a better team than Sierra leone, they also gave Ivory Coast more headache than Sierra leone. Sierra leone would find Equatorial Guinea a handful. Infact this was the real group of death all along.

Enoch3721:
Yeah they can but defeating ivory coast Algeria have failed to score in their past two games and ivory coast have scored three times in d same schedule that's one reason,,, Sierra Leone for me will defeat guinea or at least get a draw then the table will b

ivory coast 4 goal difference 1

Guinea 4 goal difference 0

Sierra Leone 3 goal difference 0

Algeria 1 goal difference -1

as u can see Algeria must beat ivory coast to b able to progress that is my second reason

Thirdly, lacklustre algeria are not so dangerous attacking wise and unfortunately, for them they are facing a team with d likes of Zaha, Pepe, Haller, cornet e.t.c
Sierra Leone cannot defeat Equatorial Guinea and if they are to draw, then they would need to be lucky again. I already knew Sierra Leone can never beat Equatorial Guinea after watching the first set of games. Also, Algeria would find it very tough against Ivory Coast with the Ivorian attack line. Algeria may likely be on their way home.
