Rip to the dead.
Returning to Nigeria after years of absence made me realise that every day one survives in Nigeria is a miracle.
The roads in Nigeria are crimes against humanity, freeways merge and become single lane without notice. Drivers in Nigeria have no clue how to overtake carefully, drivers just attempt dangerous maneuvers and then start flashing their headlights at oncoming traffic to give way while overtaking.
Our licensing system is a failure, our road maintenance is a disgrace and we are surely heading towards destruction. |

durubrian: it's the mentality .. "MBER month" .
I strongly believe you're part of the "indomie generation", if not you should understand that these things are lesser now, bank robbery use to be more rampant, now it's very rare.
however, cybercrimes are now trending.
We shouldn't blame the government for everything, there is no place without crime, let's do our part first, let's be security conscious and report suspicious activities
(my quota.) I am 32 years old. I grew up in Onitsha , I can categorically say that violent crime is on the rise. Back in the day, it was only armed robbery. These days there's terrorism, kidnappings, political thuggery , more violent cult killings etc |

RIP to the dead.
Nigeria is a country sitting on gunpowder. The number of unemployed young people is enough to raise concern but everybody in Nigeria pretends like everything is alright with this country .
In the next 10 years as population increases and our leaders refuse to plan for the future , we all are doomed. These crimes that the common man experiences will eventually become rampant too in gated areas of the super rich. The time to act is now |

TooMuchStuff: To me I squarely blame Islam for lack Love for Humanity that themed the message of Allah to mankind as contained in the Quran.
The maidaribe, indimi, mandara, alimodu Sheriff and hundreds of naira billionaires in Borno alone should have come together to give back to their communities. But no. They will prefer to eat alone, steal more, create more violence. Leaving Bill Gates, Ford, otedola and hosts of other NGOs who are Christians to keep cleaning the mess ups created by Muslims across the country and beyond.
When a religion is focused on too much hate for infidels and no love for even amongst it Ummah except you are fully into Jihad, this is what u get.
Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bharaine, Saudi Arabia and UAE are extremely rich Muslim countries that can afford to eliminate poverty from among world's poor Muslims of Nigeria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Bangladesh, Rhoyinga, and Yemen.
But they rather fund terrorism to create more death and poverty than economic empowerment.
Globally, Christian countries are always leading in charities because Christianity is founded on LOVE for God and Humanity. Muslim nations should wake up. Like France bombing Libya to the stone age? Yeah it makes sense |

LordReed: What is bigger than living the best life you can? There is no evidence that before or after you are alive that there is any thing to experience. This is all you've got.
Like I said the pains and joys are still gonna be experienced by you. If you want to see another day on the Savannah then you must outsmart the predators of the day and of the night.
You are free to consider it a disadvantage however the man cruising in a Maybach limousine or a G650 private jet knows he doesn't want to be an animal scrabbling for food on the Savannah. Oh there is so much bigger than living the best life you can in my very subjective opinion. The fact that the best life is subjective is even a huge philosophical question. anyway I have exams this morning, I will like to continue this our conversation later, I do enjoy your take on life issues by the way |

Starlight10: if you are a true Christian and love them you will tell them the truth. What waits them is eternal death. They should repent. So you stand here as a Christian to support someone who just said death to all gays? God gave humans life. Every human is special no matter their sin. God said for ALL have come short of the glory of God. Salvation is a personal race. God saved you( hopefully but if you can tell death to all gays, I doubt your salvation) by grace . It is not by ypur own making. So many humans suffer from so many problems that are not of their own making. So many homosexuals grew to desire members of the same sex, most DID NOT choose to be homosexuals. Let ask you a question, those who were born with intellectual disabilities (I am not saying homosexuality is a dis ability) can they correct themselves and ever be normal? The human existence is filled with misery that only a true relationship with God can alleviate. Your perfect life is not everyone's experience. You job as a Christian is to pray for salvation of every soul you come across. Judgement is for the Lord. |

LordReed: Better pattern recognition ensures survival.
Yes we do, our tool use has helped us modify our environment.
Questions of why and meaning are entirely ours to determine. No external agency is apparently available to do it for us. Why is our survival important to us and nature if the universe is just a cold brutal fact? Why then do humans inherent strive to live as long as possible and have offspring to continue the survival race from one generation to another? My point is that it seems like there is some bigger picture here that a naturalistic and materialistic worldview is refusing to ponder about. If life is just is. Then I argue that consciousness is an evolutionary disadvantage. Do animals ponder about existence or God? Existential depression is peculiar to humans as long as we know. So even though yes consciousness has it's advantages, existential crisis is big enough to consider it a huge disadvantage. |

Yes we do, our tool use has helped us modify our environment.
Questions of why and meaning are entirely ours to determine. No external agency is apparently available to do it for us. If meaning is entirely ours then life has no inherent objective meaning, only subjective meaning no? Remember that usually subjective meanings or perspectives only mean much to the subject of the meaning of perspective. If life has no inherent meaning, all the wonders of the universe is pointless |

It is a wonder though that we are alive in a universe that is largely uninhabitable by us. Ever wonder what the evolutionary purpose of consciousness might be ? Do we have any advantage over other animals by being self aware? Ever wonder why we are alive in a universe that is largely uninhabitable by us? Do you ponder what life means ? |

lawani: Religion has caused too many upheavals. The attack on me is minor but it has proved to be one upheaval too many for the renegade religionists. Many have paid the supreme price. They were killed by religionists in their prime. I am just a lucky person to escape death. Since Emperor Constantine of Rome, millions have died at the hands of religionists, psychopaths who want to take over the world, put everybody under their theology. They plan and scheme, manipulate and oppress to keep their toxic theology in the mainstream. Their objective is to make everybody succumb under their evil theology. They want to achieve a theocracy under a demonic and evil theology. Religion has proved to be a major adverse outcome of urban agglomeration or sedentary culture along with epidemics like small pox, black death and etc. It is high time all well meaning people worldwide rise up and join hands together to put an end to religion before it puts an end to this human civilization.
Every right thinking person from everywhere in the world. Africa, Europe, Asia, Americas have to join hands together with likeminded people to drive out religion finally from Earth.
May God assist us. It is hard to argue to the contrary that religious people have caused unwanton death and destruction. However, my question is do really that if the world had no religion, there will be an end to all wars and human oppression? Surely even you can see, that human beings have a propensity for immense violence and cruelty as a result of our fallen nature (if you are religious) or evolution (if you are nonreligious) My summary is religion is not the problem. |

nwabekeyi: Because the universe doesn't understand if anything is dead or alive.
The universe has always obeyed the law of conservation of energy even before we became cautious of life and before the word "life" was coined and there nothing we can do to change that.
The purpose of your existence and any other thing is simply to store energy and recyle them. At the quantum level, every atom is the same, that's what the universe understands. Still doesn't answer the question of the purpose? If we evolved to contemplate these things surely there must be some method to this madness called the universe? |
