GLOBALINF: And let me enlighten you a little, those you called basic amenities aren’t cheap at all! Yes! I need tell you the truth What we pay here in naija is fucking too cheap and that is why it’s not readily available! Highest I get here for electricity per month is 10k.(not stable though) I fuel my gen with average of 2 k per day! Roughly 50k per month! Combine both, it’s still not up to what I pay for electricity a month abroad! You dare not use electricity anyhow else you cry at the end of the month! The comfort you think you get there you still have to do mathematics on it! Do you know how much I buy a litter of fuel in Europe for your car? We buy for 145naira here and we complain (not up to 50cent). You all know in naija everyone dig bore hole so we don’t pay for water! Do u know the bill for water a month there? Come and see how Nigerians do micro economics on resources they though it’s readily available! Sometimes I asked them so what’s the difference between here and there? Doing winter u must heat your house most time with gas! Do you know how much they sell gas? You better do your analysis well than thank God for naija! My house rent there for a month will pay for a full year here with change remaining! So what are we saying!? Hahahahaha..... you are not the only one has lived outside Nigeria. Do you know that Kuwaitis do not pay energy bills? Do you know that Libyans when Ghadaffi was alive didnt pay energy bills? Nigeria is oil producing nation and yes energy should be cheaper here. However, ordinary Nigerians want steady energy supplies and good roads, increase the taxes and the rates... we don't mind. Stop defending the travesty of the Nigerian nation, its a gooddamn cesspit of corruption and poverty |

joey150: So long as East Africans participate in this marathon, No Nigerian will ever win it.
Nigerians are not as strong as they think. Our dieting and lifestyle means it's almost impossible to win a Martahon against good athletes.
East Africans know it's free $$$$ whenever they enter for this competition.
I'm expecting the same Kenyans and Ethiopians to win the men's category. At least 1st, 2nd, 3rd. We are better sprinters naturally as the average East African is built lean due to limited access to water. They -east Africans - have had to migrate often to find water as opposed to us living in the land of milk and honey. Your average fulani man as well is built lean |

Madisonsqua: People are blinded by poverty...if u ever find ur way out of Naija legally to any OECD country , u will understand what's happening in Nigeria, I don't know much about Politics but if splitting Nigeria is the way forward, please let's do because. The labour of our heroes past are already in VAIN...The prime minister of the country I live in at the moment is a 38 year old lady....not even married yet.
I miss Nigeria, if I'm to make a video myself, I will lament and sounds frustrated. This is not because of my situation here. But because I av seen how life is meant to be, real government...and how much damage has been done to Nigeria...The distance between the rich and poor in Nigeria is unimaginable.....here as an ordinary hustler, I can afford to eat, play and attend events with the rich...this will never happen in Nigeria....I eat the same bread and drink the same milk as the rich here.
I av never seen any police holding a gun publicly or military oppressing or abusing ordinary citizens....life is valued
I support this guy...I have no doubt he will do 10x better in the US as a security than a movie producer in Nigeria...and even apart from money, nothing can be compare with the quality of life u get from living in a sane community where life is valued more than diamonds.
Once u leave Nigeria, u will know life is not all about money....If that guy die today, the kids have a secured future, they are safe...
Im not in the US but Working as ordinary site labourer here, u will get an average of $45k after tax and u will even get more once u have more experience.... that's 12M in Naija...even if u are cursed u will save 3M naira plus a secured future, good retirement plan and good quality of life....the community works with u and support u rather than competing with u as they do in Nigeria. You are in New Zealand |

Reading all these comments from people trying to c9nvince themselves that Nigeria is the best thing after slice bread is just pathetic
I don't live in America but i can give you guys some perspective using Australia. A security guard in Australia earns 35 dollars an hour (base no weekend rates included) at 36 hours per week
That is 5040 a month assume tax of 1000, rent at 1700, feeding and running cost at 1700 (over exaggerating) , he takes home $1600 per month.
Of course, no one lives in a 1700 apartment by themselves, if you are single you share the bill with a friend. If you are married you share with your partner
Lastly to give you more perspective, an engineer with 3 years experience in Australia earns about 70k per annum, a security guard earns about 60k per annum.
Hence why everyone can afford a new car, phones, laptops etc. How many Nigerians in 160million can afford to buy ordinary iPhone?
Go figure... |

Its for the same reason we have crude oil, but import petrol. The same reason we have football stars and they always end us abroad. The same reason we have have schools, but always end up abroad to upgrade our certification. e.t.c.
That's the evolution of slavery. Things are deliberately set up to work that way and there's nothing anybody can do about it, until we change what we call education. Typical African.... always playing the victim card and never taking responsibility for anything. |

I can go on and list notorious kingpins who have been publicly killed and yet crime still reigns in Nigeria. Poverty and lack of social mobility is the root cause of all this.
Offering 640 million naira bounty on criminals is stipidity. Invest in schools, industries, infrastructure and crime will reduce significantly |

KingEbukasBlog: They still live better lives than you
North Korea has been with atheism since 1948 yet their economy is moribund , the citizens are being brainwashed , the people live in insularity , their leaders are venal and the crime rate is unreasonably high . People get capriciously executed and religious ones are being used to test new military equipment .
Christian countries - Norway , Switzerland , Denmark - are the wealthiest and most progressive in the world . Russia left atheism and started flourishing . Christians own 55 percent of the global wealth while the rest of the adherents of numerous religions including the atheists , irreligious and the agnostics are left with 45 percent
You atheists excoriate Islamic countries for being backward while atheist countries do worse just to constrain their citizens to adhere to atheistic ideologies . Atheism is backwardness , atheism is mental slavery !
Say no to atheism ! Still peddling the fallacy that Norway is a Christian country? North Korea is where it is because of communism which has proven to be a catastrophic failure economically, socially and otherwise. By the way North Korea is by miles more advanced than Nigeria, so stop peddling Western narratives you get from CNN use other news sources like CCTV or RT. Let's not derail the thread, what is the purpose of night vigils because as people in Nigeria pray at night, we in Australia go about our daily business cos of time difference. |

I used to identify as an atheist when I was a teenager, but I didn’t really know why. I had never thought through the implications of what it meant to be an atheist and just assumed I was one because my favorite bands identified with Godlessness. Need I say more? The Pastor was an atheist because it was cool there was no logical reason behind his worldview and therefore I am not surprised that he became a christian. In the end, as long as he is happy with finding Christ, I wish him well but some of us have better reasons to disregard religion especially Christianity. |

All Atheists have two gods IGNORANCE and SCIENCE
Unfortunately, for Atheists to explain away God, they have to break the fundermental rule/ laws of Physics.
Can you pls answer the questions above? So since we don't have answers to those questions, then God did it? Which God by the way, Allah, Amadioha, Sango, Shiva, Yahweh, Zeus? The fact that you dont believe in gravity will not stop you from falling under the force of gravity.
There are consequences for what we believe, even though you wish such consequences away. Gravity may be not be physical (?) but it is a consistent force that can actually be measured. It even has its own unit of measurement. It can be objectively observed by anyone, anywhere. Just like magnetism, gravity and other forces can be independently observed by many people and they will come up with answers very close to each other. Same cannot be said about God and Gods |

shadeyinka: My dear OP I have not misrepresented you.
(1). noun (plural atheisms) (narrowly) Belief that no deities exist (sometimes, excluding other religious beliefs). (broadly) Rejection of belief that any deities exist (with or without a belief that no deities exist). (very broadly) Absence of belief that any deities exist (including absence of the concept of deities). (loosely) Absence of belief in a particular deity, pantheon, or religious doctrine (notwithstanding belief in other deities).
(2 & 3). My aim is not to validate the Bible, Quran or any other spiritual book. My aim is to expose the fallacy of thinning that everything there is is Physical.
Come to think of it. How will you describe a computer program to an intelligent computer who think that everything about it is the KBD, VDU, MOUSE and Plug.
The software of Physical Existence is the Spiritual.
(4&5.). Religion! I have not implied any religion. For you, you are not ready for that because the fundermental to any form of religion you may have chosen is zero. Religion is what men do to "Please" their god.
I am not advocating RELIGION. I am advocating GOD!
Thanks for the Title. I appreciate it. Am I worse than winner01 and KingEbukaNaija who according to you are the greatest source of misinformation on Nairaland? LOL!
Answer my questions if you can
I know of two reality of existence, you know of just one. Therefore, I can speak of the Spiritual (demons) and the Physical(science). Don't bring me down into you limitation. Even though software is not physical, it can be verified. There are people with a special set of skills called software testers. Now you talk about demons, but they have not been verified. Most events attributed to demons are either random events or downright fabrications that fail under close scrutiny. Furthermore, most monotheistic religions claim their God is the ultimate. Let us not forget that these Gods have very different personalities. Allah for example is very different from Yahweh. They all cannot be right.it is either one is right or they are all wrong. The final problem with religion is that it makes extra ordinary claims that have NEVER been substantiated |

Meme #5: People can be good, thats true. But they must have learnt the idea of good or bad from somewhere: It could be from the ever changing society, religion, family e.t.c Point is most atheists still hold on to the morals they learnt from christianity. KingEbukaNaija: Ok . So do you approve of bestiality ? I (personal preference) do not find animals attractive and find it very off-putting to even think about humans sleeping with animals, however if a human decides to indulge in it within their legal rights, I say let them be. Reason I find this off-putting is because for me sex is communicative which is why I don't enjoy casual sex or paid sex . I personally prefer sex in a loving communicative relationship and an animal cannot provide it. Again my approval or disapproval is inconsequential, i can only provide a personal opinion. |

What my daughter or son does as an adult is solely their responsibility and therefore my approval or disapproval is inconsequential.
