Sirjamo: Has he finish training Christian children?
The kind of poverty that's in the middle belt, especially southern Kaduna where kukah comes from cannot be eradicated in a hurry, why can't he go and help his own people first before helping others if there's no christianization motive? Every Southern Kaduna child goes to school and has access to education. Does every Hausa-fulani child go to school? Hausa fulanis are poorer than any other group of people in Nigeria, so they need more help. |

Kazikazi: Yes peso is a Portuguese word which means money.also portuguese uses the word pesa for something like counting or weight. As you know, about 5% of Swahili words are Portuguese.Let's not forget that the Portuguese came into east African coasts,Hindi, the Arabs,German and English speakers also came.So Swahili borrowed words from all those foreigners.
Here is example of these borrowed vocabs
Swahili word. Meaning in English. Borrowed from
Jamhuri. Republic. Arabic. Sabuni. Soap. Arabic Dua. Prayer. Arabic Salam . Greetings. Arabic
Sukar . Sugar. German Shule. School. German
Laki. 100,000. Hindi Dobi. Launder. Hindi Pesa. . Money. Hindi
Meza. Table. Portuguese Sigara. Cigarette. Portuguese Limau. Lemon. Portuguese Papa. Pope. Portuguese
Then we have borrowed from English..e.g. Hospital, radio, station, wire, plastic, etc.
Those are few words which I can remember. But you can google for yourself. There are many more dozen arabic words in swahili. How do I know? I have seen so many of them cos of Arabic words in Hausa language Hatari (accident) Duniya (life or world) in swahili, Arabic & Hausa Other words I've forgotten now. |

You guys have some other minerals and have also discovered oil in Turkana. Oil is a curse to Nigeria ***** Can you enlighten me how this property tax works? Is there a body that evaluates the cost of a house and determines how much the owner should pay to the govt? Or the tax amount is fixed for every house? ~~~~I would love property tax law to be promulgated in Nigeria, but it should be a progressive tax system. Propositions have been made, but it is not taken seriously. .... My only fear is that this may increase housing costs drastically which will go back to affecting the poor. |

Nowenuse: NairobiWalker is an irredeemable idiot who shamelessly argues for the sake of it.
genieluv showed him and other Kenyans the 3 bedroom apartment she lives in Abuja and how it costs 25k ($70) per month, they said she was lying. She showed them this picture below from an online source of a nice house in Abuja that cost 29k ($80) per month, then reasonable Kenyans like mtisTheQubit & t1ann accepted the truth, kept quiet and agreed, but the shameless NairobiWalker kept on foaming his mouth saying unreasonable things.
I mean, how helpless can the condition of a human beign be that you are shown true facts korokoro but yet you still argue and say rubbish? This was exactly the same thing he did early this year when I splattered his shameless self with online adverts of Nigerian houses and how cheap they were compared to Kenyan houses. He then shamelessly began to say that the Nigerian online house adverts were fake
Read this news report below directly from Kenya on how a man who lives in Nairobi laments on how he pays 10k shillings (35,000 naira) monthly for a one room apartment without ventilation (in those overcrowded concentration camp houses )
http://www.ghafla.com/crisis-how-housing-in-nairobi-has-become-a-nightmare-for-millions-of-city-dwellers/
People like KiberaWalker aka NairobiWalker live in slums like Kibera and have no idea how Kenya's middle class suffer poor housing.
Kenyans seriously need to fix that overpriced expensive slum riddled city they call Nairobi.
For God's sake how can someone get a decent 3 bedroom apartment in Nigerian cities for 25k naira ($69) monthly, but in Kenya one pays 35k naira ($100) monthly for a cubicle size 1 bedroom apartment without ventilation in a concentration camp house with thousands of tenants? God forbid ! Kenyans work and live to pay house rents with their salaries. Why won't millions of Kenyans live in the world's largest slums?
Cc genieluv2
Edited : Omg! @Daejoyoung I re-read the link and now noticed that the house the Kenyan was complaining about in that link wasn't even a room and parlour (1 bedroom apartment) as I thought, it was a freakinng bedsitter (single room).... I really give up on Kenyans. I now pity them infact.
My brother, I just don't understand why a freaking developing nation should have such expensive houses. My friends who stay in Ghana lament how house rent finishes every money they get. ... It's just a pity There are also very expensive houses in Abuja and Lagos, but the good thing about Nigerian cities is that there is always a decent neighbourhood to suit every pocket size in that same city you live in. Not everyone pays outrageous house rents. Infact majority of Nigerians do not. I wish I could re-like this comment of yours I am trying to understand Kenya's tax system. Maybe houses are more expensive in Kenya because they pay property tax or other higher taxes. Cos that is the way it is in Ghana. Ghanaians pay property tax according to what I heard. @mtisTheQubit & t1ann, do you guys pay property tax in Kenya? **** There are also expensive houses in Nigeria. In parts of Abuja and Lagos, a 3 bedroom apartment can go for as high as $300 per month or even far more. It all depends on where you want to say. That's the beauty of Nigeria. And because people are allowed to buy lands almost anywhere in a city and build, you can easily get a new decent house at an affordable price because competition is so much and this causes many to force their prices down in especially newer suburbs. |

rvp20183: Cheap is expensive. The solution is not turn entire cities into slums.its for gov to invest in cheap social housing. We are trying 0.5m that will house 2 to 3m. People do not build new slum houses in Nigeria. **** Cheap social housing ends up looking like a disaster if not properly maintained. |

I then showed them purchasing power parity and nominal per capital figures which showed that life in Malaysia is cheaper than that of Kenya, and can you believe that these idiots went as far as comparing Kenya to Malaysia just to excuse the expensiveness of life in their country? Can you pls link me to that debate so that I can see for myself? Please refrain from using direct insulting words. |

ednited: The way we pray
The way we sing
The way we dress
The way we connect to God is very different
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo church is the one which brought a big civilization in Ethiopia. We use our own Bible, with our own language. We have our own singing system which has been designed by the Ethiopian Saint Yared. We have our own Architecture too. The world haven't understood much about this religion. There are many secrets in the church.
Even I have heard some people say that 'ETHIOPIA' is not a Greek meaning but an Ethiopian. . .and it's meaning is secretly kept in the church.Today, the reason why Ethiopia has her own new year is because of this church too.
I feel very happy and proud to be a member of this religion and I want to dedicate myself on this. I want to work in the church when I get old. Interesting. It's good to develop one's own unique cultures and systems in my opinion. **** Do Tigrays, Amharas, Oromos and others share exactly the same Ethiopian orthodox church, practices, liturgical language and leadership? mtisTheQubit00: Funny Nigerians love ths apartments ..wonder why Would they rather have lived in slums? I don't think someone like myself can live in Kenya, unless I have a very high paying job, due to the expensive cost of Kenyan houses. ***** Apparently, a one bedroom apartment in Umoja costs $150 per month. Look at this picture from my current neighbourhood, the house you see on the opposite goes for $69 per month for a 3 bedroom apartment. Can I get such in any Kenyan city? For someone like me who earns $400 a month, do you expect me to pay $150 for a single bedroom in such overcrowded houses in Umoja? But now I spend only $34 for rent per month in a decent house as you see opposite because I have a housemate and we split the rent bill. >>>>> Nigeria is far far cheaper than Kenya. The lowest I saw for any Kenyan 3 bedroom apartment online was 30k shillings ($245) per month

Have you been on foreign fora like Quora, Reddit etc? Do you see people calling each other names over there? >>>> Stop arguing what you do not know. Most of those houses upstairs are used for storing goods which are sold at the floor level, that's the way it's being done in some Nigerian markets. ***** Besides, let's assume people even live upstairs, do you see as much chaotic occupation upstairs as you see in Umoja or those mass houses in Nairobi? If you look carefully you can see that those upstairs houses are apartment styled, they are like 3 bedroom apartments and you have less than a dozen of them in one building. These mass kenyan houses have many dozens of appartments and possibly hundreds to thousands of occupants. You yourself make the comparisons.

This is why most Kenyans have red eyes and the likes of NairobiWalker and other Kenyans are very insultive and bitter. Can someone live in this kind of house and still be happy and mentally stable? Hell no!
Imagine thousands of people living in one building. This is just so sad and terrible. Your houses are too expensive perhaps seeing that a room and parlour in those mass houses cost as much $150 per month In Nigeria, you can find a room & parlour self contain in a better house for $50 per month. ****** People building nice houses close to slummish areas gradually converts that slummish area to a better place with time.
