*****We all know that Southern Europeans n Northern Europeans highly vary in skin tones n colour of hair/eyes. The southern europeans tend to be more olive or tanned white skin while the northern n western europeans tend to be more extremely pale white. Buh if you take pictures of a distant crowd of Spanish people (Southern Europeans) n Swedish people (northern europeans), you will not observe any reasonable difference. Buh if from a good background you take them pictures personally, the difference would be very clear.

No Nigerian will ever argue that majority of our people are dark skinned, buh the dark skinned definition varies from normal dark skin (which you guys identify as chocolate to extremely dark skin which you guys identify as normal dark skin). Nobody will deny this!

Another thing is that, most Nigerians in Kenya are of poor backgrounds. Rich or middle class Nigerians hardly leave Nigeria to another African country except on schooling or business purposes!
Now, we all know that poorer people in Africa tend to get exposed to the sun day n night and hardly take care of themselves, so of course, they will look darker than those from rich/middle class homes who are always in the air- conditioned comfort of their homes or offices.

If you guys cannot grasp all these, then i sincerely give up on you guys!

You have to look at Swahili people like Dominicans, a group of people who are a mixture of Africans, Natives & Europeans. Some Dominicans identify with their African roots whilst others identify more with their European or native roots but at the end of the day they're all Dominicans.
So, let's take Mombasa for example, you have the Twelve Tribes (Native Swahilis), Swahilized Africans & Swahilized Arabs. Naturally the Arab Swahili will identify more with Arabia then a Swahili Pokomo-Kenyan but they're both Swahili connected by their mother tongue language, culture and beliefs.

That was the simple lazy breakdown but the Swahili coast is a little more intricate than that.

I watched an Ethiopian crime movie on dstv recently and indeed it was a fresh departure from the usual.I wish they will just project themselves more and use more of their ancient sites like those rock churches in Lalibela.It could earn them money like Nigeria.

But in our music industry, Ethiopian Artists have problems. leave alone with other africans, they don't even collaborate with other Ethiopians. But it's getting better from time to time

I noticed something with all ethio music videos i have ever seen : the dancing by shaking the shoulder thingy. Very unique to the horn. And of course, coffee and Ethiopians, never far from each other!
If you ask me, and am not a music guru, there is also a different baseline and beat unique to Ethiopia. This leads me to the question : These MTV best African music awards should be considered a sham because African music is soo diverse in every ramification, who does these awards serve and for what purpose?

U really have a good point here. Buh in the last MTV africa awards, some north african musics/artistes were nominated n i think one of them won an award buh you see, they do not even show up for these awards.

I've been asked this question before and I'll just reiterate that I don't think the black label is correct. Sure, I'll tick the black option in censuses and other forms in the west, because that's what my people are classed as, but no one is black. You and I are both brown in complexion so if they were to label us correctly, they'd label us brown. This meaningless term was developed by disgracefully racist 18th century German anthropologists. Whilst society has moved on by abolishing slavery, made great strides to eradicate racism and discrimination, one has to wonder why this term has survived. I think it's about time we got rid of it, because this term robs people of their heritage and ethnicity.

So do I consider myself black? No. Do I consider myself African? Yes of course, I'm a proud African man.

Btw I think it is mainly in north America and the UK where people are actually labeled black. In mainland Europe, people are just French Senegalese, Dutch Moroccan or German Somali like me.
