Laburos: The Fulanis in Mambila are the Most peaceful people Ive ever known, I lived for over 18 years in Mambilla and I have been visiting since i left in 2005. Its true they were attacked and killed and Maim, Its a Pity they chose to allow the Mambilas to continue killing them I was there in 2002 when they were attacked it was horrible. They should armed themselves for self defense or perish in the Hand of the Militias
Yes, fulanis in Mambilla may be peaceful, buh their brethren elsewhere are obtainning loans for them to pay which is unfortunate.
Jiang: They will retaliate, i will just advice people in d area to disappear, as this retaliation will be super massive.
Don't promote violence buh peace. ***Go n ask what mambilla people did to fulanis in 2002. That was like the worst genocide in Nigeria after the Biafran war. Over 50,000 fulani refugees fled to Cameroon in that crisis. Have the fulanis retaliated since then? Some middlebelt tribes are madder than others. Fulanis can easily mess with Tivs n beroms n go free, buh tribes like Mambilla, Jukun, Mumuye, Bachama,Tarok, Ngas, Kataf, Sayawa, Eggon are almost mad people. You will regret ever crossing their paths.
cococandy: Let's assume this is true, will the so called Fulani attack the people who attached them first or will they attack other innocent tribes that have no business with them? Questions for the soul
The attack is true and this attack is even child's play compared with the attacks these same mambilla people dealt on fulanis in 2002 which sent tens of thousands of fulani refugees to Cameroon. Fulanis are nor invisible in Taraba and most parts of the north-east cos they have settlements there and their opponets easily know where to find them to retaliate.

Where have you been when fulanis have been killing others? Now, fulanis cannot escape attacks in Taraba cos they have many settlements there.
loshybab: they are majority in some of those LGAs bro! Majority in.... JALINGO ARDO KOLA GASSOL LAU BALI
and quite a number of them in
GASHAKA YORRO ZING SADAUNA.
this is because they co-exist more with MUMUYE as far as TARABA STATE is concerned
No, you are very very wrong. Fulanis can only claim majority in Jalingo n Gassol LGA. In Lau, adk and bali, Jukun kona, mumuyes & jibawa outnumber them.
baddosky1: So Fulani people who are known to be heavily armed just stood in one place while militia from Mambilla invaded their settlement and burnt over 120 houses? This FAKE NEWS is meant to give the fulanis (who are most definitely planning an attack on the residents of Mambilla) a soft landing when it happens!
If you know what mambilla people are capable of, you will not doubt this news. In 2002, they carried a genocide on fulanis in Sardauna and sent almost 50,000 fulani refugees to Cameroon. ***Fulanis are not invincible in Taraba cos they have villages n towns there, so, hit n run does not work for them there.
TayserMahiri: So give us a link where you read that.
Here's one buh there's also another piece i seem to have forgotten where i read it from.
****I would have had second thoughts of possible bias on the writer's part ihad this piece been written by an east african buh considering it written apparently by a non-african who would most likely not have any interest in a bias as regards the situation, I find the piece highly plausible.
gallivant: Oh great, another idiot. You are trying too hard by suggesting Africans had no trade or lingua franca before the Arabs arrived, which is nonsensical. The arab loan words have been proven to be less than 5% of coastal Swahili so stop kissing Arab ass!
Where did you read such bs, Nigerians should stop being ignorant in life and get some education.
It's obvious you lack manners. Well, stooping low to exchange or engage insults is a level i've long gone past, so i think i'll pass. *****No matter how annoying someone's comment is to you, restraining your emotions is a clear show of maturity n intelligence. Peace.
ednited: Kana TV on HOP program shows many latest African songs
Ebs TV on Ebs musika raggae and afrobeat program too
Dstv is not famous but our radio station 105.3 also play amazing african songs
Kk. That's great to know. Buh seriously, are we to expect seeing you Ethiopians socializing with other africans (especially in the entertainment industry) better in the future?
****I was a bit surprised seeing Ethiopian housemates in the Big brother africa reality tv show for some years now. Do you guys follow the show in ET very well? (i'd be surprised if you said yes, considering the fact you said Dstv is not popular over there). That's about the only social platform we ever get to see Ethiopians socializing with other africans. What can u say?
Hati13: I'm glad you love Habesha culture(I hate to say the word Habesha).
You should definitely learn Amharegn/Amharic even if it's difficult. Amharic is a language formed from the mix of Semitic/Cushitic/Omotic/Nilo-Sharan, so it's has all the characteristics of all Ethiopian language and can tell more than any other language about Ethiopia.
Actually, the Album I posted was ranked 1st in the Billboard world albums chart for May 20. It sold 600,000 copies in the first week worldwide. But like you said, most of our artists aren't known internationally, so huge advertisements needs to be done.
Learn amharic? Where do i start? The translation or transliteration? ****If amharic was written in the latin alphabet, it would have made it easier/encouraging for outsiders to learn. I don't think i'd ever have the luxury of learning a language that isn't written in the latin script cos it takes time n patience, the only exception is if i'm going to get a multi million dollar job with the knowledge of the language .
Really? Top the billboard charts? That's surprising. Is he the first Ethiopian artiste to achieve such? Or others regularly do? If the latter is your answer, then how come we hardly ever come across Ethiopian music in any music channel? Your artistes aren't even nominated in any african award show. Absolutely nothing. Where is thr mix up coming from?
***Sincerely, i love Horn african music so much. I accidentally came across amharic musics on a tv channel some time ago and i loved them so much. I love the way they danced, the cultural displays et al.
I wish i could understand amharic
When are Ethiopian artistes going to make their music more international? We other africans would love your musics n patronize your artistes if you make your music more international.
NairobiWalker: Actually Swahili people is a very unclear term that generally refers to a group of coastal people who have Swahili as a first language and yes, they do identify as Bantus.
That aside, languages are not classified based on what the speakers identify as but based on the structure. Just a random question though, why are you guys trying so hard to prove Swahili is not Bantu? Lol, it just sounds weird.
Pidgin will still be a Germanic language unless it evolves into something just super-different from what it is now. Just like Creole.
Naaah, i don't think am trying hard to prove swahili is not Bantu. >>>The language is of bantu structure but too many words in it are not bantu and not just that, the evolution of the language was made possible by the arab traders which formed the identity n culture of the swahili natives. ****From what i have read just now about the swahili people, there is absolutely no way they can identify proudly as Bantu people. Many/most of them take pride in their arab ancestry and arabic origin of their cultures. Of course, this is easy, courtesy to islam. Apparently, most swahili people identified as Arab during Kenyan colonialism n were given special status.
NairobiWalker: If pidgin evolves into a new language, it would be a Germanic language with a Germanic structure just like English. Meanwhile Swahili is a Bantu language with a Bantu structure. I hope you got me.
Kk. Holly just like Kaylinda asked, i also want to ask, do swahili people identify as Bantu people? I really doubt they do. Cos their looks n culture appear very arabic.
***Pidgin would now be native to black africans if it evolves, but swahili a bantu language, is it native to people who identify as bantus/black africans?
Hati13: The 2nd one looks a girl lol Is D-banj photo when he was young?
Lol. He sometimes looks that way. Here is his latest music with the beautiful Tanzanian star singer Vanessa Mdee. The song is a hit and ranking among top African charts
***D banj even looks older in that picture (with those side beards) if you ask me. Often, he doesn't keep side beards which makes him look younger. Do you follow Nigerian music in ET?
9jakool: Yorubas of Kwara and Kogi don't really speak Hausa, but other than that, Hausa is a lingua franca in the North.
Before Nigeria gained its independence, the British divided it into 3 regions, (Western, Eastern, Northern). If Nigeria was 3 countries, then Yoruba would be the national language of the West, Hausa for North, and Igbo for East. The only places you will actually find pidgin spoken are cosmopolitan cities like Port Harcourt, Warri, Lagos, Benin city, Abuja etc. If you go to the heart of Yorubaland for example you would hear more Yoruba than you would ever hear English or Pidgin.
Hausa is like Swahili in many ways and as it's spoken by many people as a second language.
Yaaah u rite, buh not just yorubas of kwara n kogi. Kwara, Kogi n Benue state people do not use Hausa as a lingua franca in their homelands unlike the other 16 northern states.
***I see pidgin penetrating deeper into core yoruba, Igbo n even hausa areas as urbanization n awareness grows more n more. Pidgin is now becoming a very influential language in Nigerian media n entertainment, young people especially are becoming acquainted to it more n more.
You will agree with me that even in core yoruba areas, most educated young people can understand pidgin, or not? Here in Kaduna, it is likewise, especially in the southern parts, most young people even in the core areas can understand pidgin.
kaylinda: genieluv, you are a darling. Please don't get yourself unnecessarily worked up with haters and immature people. I love your pictures. Are you a northerner? I'm asking because it seems like you post pictures of mostly northern Nigerians.
Awww, thanks dearie
yaaah, i am a northerner (middlebelt part tho). Buh it's not so true. I also post lots of pics of southern Nigerians.
NairobiWalker: That's why they're called Latino languages and it took a lot of time including the death of the Latin language for them to be recognized as separate languages. Pidgin is not yet there. Pidgin is more like Sheng in Kenya.
Holly i think we are saying the same thing. New languages evolve from older ones as history has shown, some from a reformation and some from combinations of old languages and may assume a new identity of their own.
